Thanks for replying.

I know a lot of investors are going to be still very skeptical so consider this free consulting Smiley

There is really a lot of risk investing in such a project in my opinion, and given the bank co-operation, perhaps you should ask for a bank loan?

Just an idea as I doubt people are going to buy into this.

RCH
We've had a fair amount of interest so far.

Plus bank co-operation for an account, and bank co-operation for a loan are two separate things. Regardless I prefer to not get into any debt.

Anyhow thank you for the feedback, even if it isn't positive it is still appreciated none the less.

It shouldn't have come across a negative, rather constructive since it is what everyone else will be thinking. You may not be aware but re: proof, a lot of people have claimed to have connections with banks, and a lot of people have lied on this forum. I'm absolutely not saying that is the case with this project, but IF you had proof, it would go a long long way with potential investors.

I'm very hopeful that your project gets off the ground, since there is a real gap in the market and active demand for this... the question as with any market gap is why, and in the UK legislation/banks have been the issue up until now.

RCH
Hi RCH,

We will do a small second round of funding days prior to the launch, to give us a cushion for the monthly costs.

At that point we will give out more information about banking.

Best,

William Dunne

I guess here is an argument against Litecoin: https://www.litecoinpool.org/pools
They are closing in on a mining pool which has more then 51% of the mining.

a 51% hashrate just means the 'possibility' that the mining pool owner can inject nasty code and get accepted. it does not mean a guarantee of attack as the mining pool owner can easily be honourable, own 99% of hash power but never change the code and everything will be fine

No, that is not true at all.

That is us my friend, I'm running the bitcoin side of things, my buddy runs the business on the ground and http://www.automotoracing.com/ Smiley
That story is somewhat plausible but obviously requires proof.

Get your buddy to create a .txt file on his site called bitcoinbikers.txt (so you access via http://www.automotoracing.com/bitcoinbikers.txt) that confirms it and we will believe you.

Design 1 looks better
The overwhelming majority agrees with you. Unless there is a sudden change in decision, that is the designer we will go with.

Of course, that is not the finished image, I think there is something that can be learned from each of them however I do agree.

good looking designs indeed
Thank you very much, we had over 35 designers apply. I had a good time going through their portfolios.

They have both taken very different methods, but they look stunning.

·        Oceania (Australia, Fiji, New Zealand)

·        South America (Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Uruguay, Venezuela)

Not authorized for distribution by or to any person or company in FATF blacklist countries.

Has this list been updated? You're most certainly not authorized for the United States if you don't have an MSB license.

The only reason btc-e is in a quasi legal state is because they don't use their own bank accounts (and even then they don't accept US wire transfers).

Dear MrWDunne,

This list is accurate and up-to date. Regarding your comment about the United States: persons or companies from the United States are allowed to participate on our platform. Only an exchange operating under U.S. law and/or on US territory requires an MSB license in the United States. Our exchange is subject to European jurisdiction and therefore not subject to this clause.

This does not exempt us from other obligations such as screening our clients, investigating and reporting suspicious transactions and requiring identification from individuals wishing to operate with large amounts of regulated currencies.

This also does not exempt clients from the United States of having to declare any capital gains or losses they have incurred on our platform.

We hope this answers your question.

Thank you for choosing our service,
The "hitbtc" team

Fincen laws still apply to you if you accept US citizens, at least in the majority of states.

Texas also declared this, as one example source

While you may not be arrested for it, you could well have your funds seized, and then you become insolvent.

All non-US banks that hold US currency still have their dollars held inside the US.

1/10. Try harder.
552  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto-currencies in 10 years on: May 11, 2014, 12:13:48 PM
why do you think dogecoin and litecoin will still be relevant in 10 years, that sounds crazy to me.

Dogecoin is an at all time high and Litecoin has a pretty big market cap. Please tell me why Lite and Doge won't be relevant.
Litecoin I doubt being relevant, it is bitcoin with a different name. Not got the best community, no real innovation, not even standing up to original claims.

Dogecoin I feel is more likely, just because of its community.

554  Economy / Securities / Re: [IPO] Mimex - UK bitcoin exchange on: May 11, 2014, 11:03:01 AM
Good luck with creating this.

The UK is in desperate need of an exchange, although I'd like to bring a few things to question, which other people are bound to be thinking.

1) Price of IPO?

At that you are valuing the company at £200000? Do you think that is reasonable for something that hasn't even launched yet. I'd question whether other exchanges make as much as you have posted there. More facts on how you came to that figure and how you found data about profitability of other exchanges would really help your cause here.

We are launching an international enterprise with huge potential, we would have put the price higher however we need to raise a small amount of money fairly quickly.

2) Proof?

Anything at all, especially with regards to confirmation of UK high street bank.

3) Experience?

Do you have any experience at all in running exchanges. For example security etc?

Either way good luck in raising finance for this project.
Sure thing.

Price of IPO?

£200,000 seems like a beyond reasonable valuation considering the profitability of such an enterprise. If you browse the securities section you will see that our valuation is considerably lower than other projects which have less promise and less to show. This is the sort of investment that could make dividend ROI within weeks of launch.

Proof?

Not sure how we can prove a bank account. At this stage we're not willing to confirm who we are with, or give away any details that would help our competitors.

Needless to say, they know what the bank account is for, and they know how we will be running the business. This was not opened at the branch level so we should have no issues with the account staying open.

As for profitability of other exchanges, Bitstamp's 24 hour volume is currently 4860 BTC. Lets say their average user has done over $50,000 of volume this month (unlikely), that means a 0.3% fee on each side of the transaction. That means 0.6% of that volume is taken in fees. That is 29.16 BTC. And this is at a time when they have fairly low 24 hour volume, during periods of volatility it is far higher than this.

Experience?

No experience running an exchange, sorry. There aren't many people who do, except those currently running an exchange.

I have experience with security, and our primary advisor has several decades of banking experience.

Thank you.

Oh well. Never mind. Lots to learn from this failure to launch. Go back to square one. Learn to learn.
Not failed, we're not trying to launch for another two months. We have two months to raise that money.

We have all of the banking sorted, and progress has started on the software side of things.

EDIT: Actually thats a lie, we currently only have a wire transfer partner for EURO. We would like a SEPA partner too.
557  Economy / Exchanges / Re: [IPO] CoinPal - Crypto-Currency Exchange & Profit Switching Mining Pool {NEW} on: May 11, 2014, 10:43:45 AM
I'm a little concerned by the fact this gained investment.

Their "logo" somehow manages to incorporate both awful design principals, and trademarks not registered by themselves.

They valued themselves higher than we are valuing our exchange (which has UK banking, and around 6 fiat currencies through other banks).

This entire situation is really a bit of a joke.

Oh, and they lack the level of transparency you would hope for.

We're only a couple thousand off from all the money we need to launch (sterling, not bitcoins).

OMG  Angry

Was happening last night as well....Thought it might be fixed today but who knows.

Should be interesting to see what happens in the coming days, I love how absent the admins are....

I just want my .5 BTC OUTTA THERE.
On the positive side, if any of the securities there are honest, they'll move everything over to counterparty for you.
