No China, No Going To The Moon.
What is the deal with china? I thought they had pretty big exchanges over there.

more than one thing need to happen at this point, for rising the bitcoin price, you simply need something that could trigger the up trend, and reverse the current situation
such as?

many are talking about a distant future because, those last good news can't makes the price skyrocket over night, they will only bring a natural growth, if you want the price to shift now and start skyrocketing you need willy 2.0
I wouldn't say that I want it go sky rocket. Perhaps I do, I dunno, but I'm just speculating for fun.

My prediction --

Thanks for sharing. It's not too dissimilar to my prediction.
544  Economy / Speculation / Re: graphical predictions of the next three years on: June 05, 2015, 01:11:40 PM
If funny how everyone expect will rise, but not in near future, but far future. It ca raise any moment. next month, next week or tomorrow.

What type of thing do you think needs to happen for a new spike? Some technological development? Some event like 10% of all currencys deducted from everybody's bank accounts to assist with austerity like they did in Cyprus? Some sharks decide to manipulate the market on a whim? Or do you think it might just happen out of the blue?
545  Economy / Economics / Re: Why is Bitcoin still a slave of Fiat? on: June 05, 2015, 01:01:53 PM
I believe what you say but fiat is fiat and we have experienced it since the we were born and i don't think that any digital currency can replace bitcoin as people have so much faith in fiat and they are not willing to take a risk by going for other digital currency as they feel using fiat is much more safer then anything else.

Well, if we switched today from fiat to bitcoin it would be radical. People aren't ready and the technology probably isn't ready. Plus, I am pretty grateful to fiat. If fiat went away, I imagine chaos. All the people that bring convenience to my life would no longer be motivated to continue. So I'd have to barter and I can't be bothered with that. I just want to roll up, transact and be on my way.

Fiat is pretty special, but my guess is that one day it will be history.
546  Economy / Speculation / Re: graphical predictions of the next three years on: June 04, 2015, 08:44:35 PM
Just say, I think Bitcoin will rise massively in the future, not in the near future, otherwise I will be proven wrong in the near future, but later, when you will have forgotten that I made this prediction.

I base this guess on nothing, but have drawn some straight lines on a chart to make you think that some serious analysis has gone into it.

P.S. I hope you are right
I bloody love straight lines. Share your chart Smiley

Graphical predictions should be at least graphical...

The moon is much higher than that Smiley
548  Economy / Economics / Re: Why is Bitcoin still a slave of Fiat? on: June 04, 2015, 07:05:30 PM
In 2,000 years from now will members of our species still use fiat? Obviously, you have to guess, but as we evolve I tend to think technology will become more and more prominent. I think bitcoin is a major breakthrough for money. It needs to be made more user friendly and scale to adequately service many more than the 7 billion of us that there are now, but that is a challenge I am confident our tech fanatics will complete at some point in time.

Of course there will still be rich and poor and conflicts will not become a thing of the past. I don't think a deflationary currency is going to solve that. But maybe it's like 2001: Space Odyssey and we are here as servants to technology.

Far out! Smiley
549  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin chart patterns (You ain't seen nothing yet) on: June 04, 2015, 03:16:25 PM
Ok, the charts look alike, but why would it follow that specific pattern? Because some people call it digital gold?
Because they want it to. When there is a will, there is a way.
550  Economy / Speculation / Re: graphical predictions of the next three years on: June 04, 2015, 01:13:43 PM
If mass adoption were to happen (I know that's a big if) the purple line would not seem so crazy.

The green line suggests the 2013 bubble was right and everything else was wrong. I don't think that's likely. I predict this boat will be rocked a fair few times yet with a series of bubbles and busts.

Of course it could just crash, but it's being sold as a life changing technology.

552  Economy / Speculation / Re: graphical predictions of the next three years on: June 04, 2015, 08:51:29 AM
I watched an 11 minute youtube video lesson on that. I can't say that it was time well spent. Do you care to elaborate?
553  Economy / Speculation / graphical predictions of the next three years on: June 03, 2015, 03:46:25 PM
So, I thought it might be fun if people shared their predictions of how they think the price will move over the next three years in a graphical format. You can take the image below and open it in paint or whatever and add your squiggly line to the end of it.

You can add your thoughts along with your image as well if you like, but it's not mandatory. I think it might be interesting to see what kind of action people are expecting to see if there is any trend in expectations.http://imgur.com/1f1sD5F

Here is my prediction, but I don't have much in the way of technical analysis. I am just a newbie and this is my instinct's best guess.

EDIT: Well that's no good. I guess newbies can't post images. I've left the links there, maybe someone could repost the images so that they can be displayed in the post below. *tuts

I've been sold on how brilliant this technology is (or at least it's potential) and visit this place to keep up with what's going on. I'm hoping to jump aboard the gravy train. It seems I have gotten aboard but all the seats are taken, and I've been anticipating another hundred carriages are going to be added so that I can grab my seat, but I'm starting to doubt it will happen now.

I trade a little. I've found only small profits so far, but profit is profit.

I like this idea. I thought about the same thing myself but with Fifa football games a couple of months back. All I did was google to see if there was anything out there currently being offered.

It struck me as a legal headache, what with needing a gambling license and protecting minors and all that, along with having to trust your coder inherently not screwing you over as well.

How did you nearly get burned? I am keen to see if you get this off the ground. Make sure you can trust your coder.
557  Economy / Gambling / Re: Want to make risk free money? on: April 16, 2015, 02:52:17 PM
I would rather learn to spot winners and than go for the bonus with many conditions.
These bonuses are useless if your winning percentage is little.
They can add up, but yeah it's hardly exhilarating. I wouldn't say useless though. It's a bit like in the film 'rounders' where all the pro poker players mock that guy that grinds it out.

"I'm not playing for the thrill of fucking victory here. I owe rent, alimony, child support. I play for money. My kids eat. I've got stones enough not to chase cards, actions and fucking pipe dreams of winning the world series on ESPN."

This is most commonly known as 'matched betting'. If you google it you can see that it is profitable. The reason why you can't retire off it is because you only get the bonus once as sportsbooks offer 'welcome bonuses'. You can multiply these earnings by introducing your loved ones to it, but bare in mind these sportsbooks might want to perform a telephone identification check to Grandma before processing her withdrawal.

I've done it myself and made a few bob. Once you trust the mathematics of it, it becomes pretty automatic. But yeah it aint risk free. Mathematically speaking it is risk free, but sportsbooks, like 666bet and others before it, go rogue and don't pay out. Risk is reduced with the big boys like ladbrokes, william hill, betfred etc. It's pretty unlikely that those guys wouldn't pay you out, so long as you are a legit customer and not using fake names.

The mathematics is fairly simple to get your head around. I use a computer program to do all that for me though. Have a google of 'matched betting' if it tickles your fancy. You don't need to pay the OP to learn about this. It's all freely available on the net.

But if you do read up on it and want some help with it don't take the OP up on his offer, send me a PM and I'll help you hit up betfair in return for you registering via my referal link Smiley

You should be able to make about £25-£30 if you are a new customer to betfair via my referal link.
559  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Your opinions on Online Gambling and Bitcoin on: April 15, 2015, 11:53:49 PM
Hello Everyone,

I am a young entrepreneur and I want my niche to be online P2P gambling, with no house edge. I believe this is a system where by provably fair sites can remove some of the stigmas associated with skill-based and chance games, as well as provide educated people (statisticians for example) and long-run method by which to make real returns from their knowledge despite an economy that undervalues their skills (even though they're paid more than the poultry that goes for average these days).

Anyhow, I understand that there are many counterpoints and draw backs from what I have said. We are aware that gambling has ruined lives before. Yet, recently governments (UK, Canada, Italy, etc.) has begun to offer online gaming as a way to generate taxes. Does government ownership of gambling make it more legitimate? Are the government's imposed limits a big difference in when it comes to the application of these devices? Are some governments/regions/jurisdictions more progressive than others?

This conversation is of particular interest to me so thank you for any and all input.

Open Ocean
As a young entrepreneur where is your profit going to come from if you provide a platform that has exactly zero house edge? You will have variances of profits and losses but in the long run you will make exactly zero minus your costs for running your service. And any intelligent statistician will quickly deduce that he can't beat your game without counting cards or cheating in some way because there is zero house, and therefore, player edge.

I am unaware of what online gaming services the UK government has recently started to offer, but I am eager to learn. I know that Totesport was owned by the UK government until a few years ago, I believe it was set up by Sir Winston Churchill way back when, so it would not surprise me that they are now offering online gaming services, but please, do share with me who or where.

All this talk in favour of regulation does make me chuckle. Well actually it grates me. The UK Gambling Commission is appalling. They regulated canbet, people lost thousands, they regulated bodugi, same thing, and betbutler, same thing and the latest book that this has happened to is 666bet with that squeaky clean character Harry Redknapp plastered all over their website. And what has happened to them? Gone! With it's customers balances throwing out empty promises just like the other aforementioned bookmakers in a vague threat to the Gambling Commission saying, 'Give us our license back and we will pay our customers'.

The UK Gambling Commission forced itself into law in December 2014 so that all online gambling accessed in the UK requires the provider to have a license and pay 15% tax, whether they are located offshore or not. Undoubtedly this will be passed on to the customer in terms of worsening odds/limits/promotions etc. This has caused the likes of pinnacle sports to suspend it's services to UK customers which is horrible news because those guys take large stakes and offer industry best odds, unlike their UK high street counterparts who limit the smart money as quick as they can cotton on.

Anyway, I digress. Bitcoin seems to me an ideal platform for gambling but having said that I haven't done any gambling with any gambling sites with bitcoin. Why? Too many variables, namely exchange rates and lack of trust in providers. Ideally somewhere like sportsbookreview or casinomeister would adopt a bitcoin only section or some similar bitcoin gambling watchdog would come on the scene and start successfully applying pressure during customer disputes. Because frankly, if the guys who are regulated run off with the money, it's going to be even easier in the bitcoin world surely?

Will the whales want to place a bet at a bitcoin gambling site? Only if they trust them. How is that trust going to be earned?

How much to correctly align the RSS, Facebook and Twitter buttons to the sidebar and also to stop the text box overhanging from the contact text box?
