541  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: January 28, 2017, 03:45:51 AM
Tomorrow first one-day match between SA and SL. SL has surprised most of the people in T20 series. They won the T20 series and now with some good confidence entering into one-day matches. But one-day matches are slightly different from T20 games and SA playing at home so I still believe that SA got may win the tomorrow's match.

South Africa have fielded a strong team for the ODIs. The ODI team has de Kock, Amla, Duminy, du Plessis. This team looks like a very good team, at least on paper. I would bet on South Africa winning the first ODI.

New Zealand vs. Bangladesh, 2nd Test match, New Zealand won by 9 wickets. This was an easy win to NZ, first innings both team played well. Again Bangladesh made the same mistake what they made in first test match 2nd innings they failed to make a big score. NZ got just 100+ runs target to win this match in 2nd innings. they chased this target with the loss of 3 wickets. Congrats NZ.

This was not a surprising result. Bangladesh managed to lose the first test after scoring 500+ runs in their first innings. In this test match, they didn't score 500 in both innings put together. New Zealand making short work of their team.
543  Economy / Speculation / Re: The effect of fees on the Chinese exchanges in a single chart on: January 24, 2017, 05:23:01 PM
Ha ha. Now we will find out what the actual volumes in the Chinese exchanges are. But I don't see any direct correlation between Bitcoin's price and volumes. If anything, it will assure traders that there is sufficient market depth.
544  Economy / Economics / Re: Difference of Trading and Investing? on: January 22, 2017, 07:49:58 AM
Trading is a bet on short-term profits. If you are on the right side of the trade, you can make money whether the market moves up or down,
Investing is when you are long-term bullish on an asset.
545  Economy / Speculation / Re: Does anyone else think it's feeling like 2014 all over again? on: January 22, 2017, 07:45:16 AM
In 2014, we entered a long down market where we saw periods of side ways followed by a slide down, repeat and rinse. Is 2017 shaping up to be another 2014?

Nope, we are looking for a breakout here. 2014 was preceded by the madness of 2013.
The rise in 2016 was not the unsustainable, moon shot that we say in 2013.
546  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: January 22, 2017, 07:42:22 AM
India will be facing England in their final ODI and with the series decided this will be a dead rubber and England will try to win the match as both the matches were high scoring ones they will try to win this one if India fields a second string team as they won the series.

This match will be good to watch still because India will pay for clean sweep and England will play for winning at least one game in a series. So I think this match will be still good to watch.

In another match, Australia won the toss and elected to bat first against Pakistan. Australia already scored 86 runs without losing any wicket in 15 overs. It looks like this match will be very high score match unless Pakistan picks up a couple of quick wickets.
I am going for England and Australia to win the match . I am sure about Aussies beating the Pak but not so sure about England but I think its worth the risk ( odds are @2.5 ) , England played well in the previous two matches too but weren't able to win it so now I think they will do the job.

2.5 are good odds for an England win. Both teams are closely matched, although India hold the edge.
The Indian batsmen have been on fire this team and India have managed to win both matches, albeit closely.
547  Economy / Economics / Re: UK fund for buying Bitcoin? on: January 21, 2017, 05:57:30 AM
I have recently sold a fund with H&L in the UK which had down very well recently, i am now looking to buy a fund or stock that tracks the bitcoin price, any ideas on what to buy?

Actually, it is much better for you to buy bitcoin directly, I don't see any valid reason why would you like to look to buy fund that tracks the bitcoin price. Besides you can buy in localbitcoins or coinsbase. At least there is no hassle, and no risk if you do that.

Safe storage of bitcoins is not easy for everybody. Such people might want to buy funds which invest in bitcoins.
Also the tax implications of investing in funds and investing in bitcoins are different.
548  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Can Hit $2K ? on: January 21, 2017, 05:53:05 AM
When 2017 started than i thought now bitcoin has started to come down, and it was but it stop $770 and than come back to rise again. So in this time, i can predict if bitcoin every month increase than definitely in the end of 2017, we will be listen a good news about bitcoin price, and may be in the next year, we see bitcoin might be crossed at $2000. But don't forget, we are just predict may be it will not be happened in future.

Same as last year, it started at a very good price rally from December and made a drop after the drama, and hacking. It will most probably make a significant price movement at the end of this year, we could see a price increase, but to be honest, I have no idea what even will again trigger the price to go wild up in the middle of this year. To make it short, a $2k is possible by the end or the entry of the coming year.

Last year was special - because of the halving. There is no such event to drive the price up this year around.
A lot of money has to be invested for Bitcoin to cross $2k
549  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: January 21, 2017, 05:51:06 AM
South Africa won the match against Srilanka even with new players in the side they could manage to defeat the Srilankan's pretty easily in a 10 over per side match originally intended to be a T20 reduced due to bad weather, either way it was an entertaining match for the crowd.

10 overs a side is a joke. I think in T20 matches, duckworth lewis method should not be applied to get the winner. It already is a short game. They should wait for the weather to improve or just abandon the match.
South Africa will be happy with a win in the curtailed match. Miller made a crucial 40.
550  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: January 20, 2017, 04:33:25 PM
Bangladesh have finished their first innings at 289. They must be desolate after losing the first match in spite of scoring a ton of runs. New Zealand required just 1 day to wrap up Bangladesh in the first innings and must be firm favourites in this match.
551  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin is Becoming a Global Currency on: January 20, 2017, 04:31:49 PM
Arent we taking this too much to another level?
I guess we are still on the building part. Trust and convenience for others, if that could be proved more then it might be more popular now. Besides, that is the real purpose of bitcoin. Taking out the middleman to save money and making the transaction secure.
Why not just focus on that more rather than taking it way up just for selfish reasons because you own 1 bitcoin.

The network effects are still kicking in. Once we reach a threshold, then Bitcoin would become convenient for all and sundry.
Talking up Bitcoin is not a bad thing at all; there are enough people on the other side spreading FUD about Bitcoin.
552  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will Bitcoin break $2000? because of Trump? on: January 20, 2017, 04:29:44 PM
Bitcoin has really started this year off wild!
I was reading that it might hit $2000 by end of year, because of Trump’s ‘spending binge’ and dollar rally.

What do you guys think?

Anything which Trump does might not surprise the market. If the market is not surprised or shocked, then Bitcoin will not have a huge boost.
So the current price reflects all of Trump's actions and proposed actions.
553  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Price Is Now Moving Up on: January 17, 2017, 07:19:05 AM
I think the bitcoin's price will now go up after some time being below $800 - may it be slowly.

It has shot up to $870 now. The price seldom moves slowly.
There is talk about it being related to Trump's inauguration, but I don't think that is the case.
554  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: January 17, 2017, 07:17:03 AM
New Zealand just require another 14 runs to win the match,i thought Bangladesh could pull this one to a draw and made a bet for a draw yesterday night and their batting was just ridiculous, awesome first innings batting and in their second innings shitty performance .
I have two shocks from Bangladesh vs New Zealand match first Bangladesh was really awesome in first inning manage to do 595 and second last day they lost match very cheaply because they fail to keep maintain in second inning its typically sub continent style of cricket
It was really a disappointing performance from Bangladesh in their second innings after building a really good score in the first innings they folded out without any fight which was really disappointing to the Bangla cricket fans and a draw would have increased their confidence in the coming matches as they have improved a lot while playing in their homeland they still have to improve while playing abroad.

Anybody who bet against Bangladesh after their first innings score would have made a fortune.  Grin
Bangladesh also managed to break a 122 year old record. Their score of 595 is the highest total by any team in the first innings in a lost cause.
555  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-1-17] Bitcoin may have friends in high places following Trump inauguration on: January 17, 2017, 07:11:55 AM
The price of bitcoin responded very positively to the prospect of a Trump presidency in November, ticking up 3.4 percent after it became clear that he would be the next president. Analysts believe that this could be due to bitcoin acting as a hedge in times of trouble.

http://bravenewcoin.com/news/bitcoin-may-have-friends-in-high-places-following-trump-inauguration/

The inauguration of Trump as president shouldn't make any difference. His election was unexpected, and that result in investors getting worried about the direction USA would take. This rubbed off a bit on Bitcoin. But now since there are no surprises, it is going to be business as usual.
556  Economy / Economics / Re: Tax Authority in Isael wants to Treat Bitcoin as a property!!! on: January 15, 2017, 01:10:28 PM
Undermined bitcoin's usefulness as currencies will undermined its value too. Bitcoin is not even a digital silvers, oil and gold but currencies. http://www.coindesk.com/israel-may-gearing-tax-bitcoin-kind-property/

It doesn't matter what the classification is. It is only for tax purposes. After all, a lot of people consider bitcoin as digital gold. That doesnt take away Bitcoin's currency attributes.
557  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Bubble 3.0 on: January 15, 2017, 01:06:36 PM
It's more like:

1. Rally to $266
2. Rally to $1300
3. Rally to $35000

Can you imagine the number of sellers there would be at$1200 levels? A lot of money has to come into the bitcoin system for tge next bubble. I personally would be delighted with $35000, but I dont see it happening soon.
558  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: January 15, 2017, 12:57:55 PM
India need 351 runs to win the match against England ,England piled on runs in the last 8 overs and scored more than a hundred runs to reach 350.India does have a fantasy batting line up ,but for that it requires a good performance from Kholi,Dhoni and Yuvraj if India has to chase this score successfully.

India have lost both openers cheaply. The partnership between Yuvraj and Kohli is important for India to have any chance in this match. England are overwhelming favourites.
559  Economy / Speculation / Re: Manipulation finished. Bubble popping. on: January 13, 2017, 11:13:44 PM
Prepare for free fall guys. The manipulators have taken enough of your money for now and will let the price plummet again to 300-500 levels in order to play the same game all over again.

Anyone thinking this is a free market is delusional. 99% of all coins owned by 5 people lol.
And who are these 5 people and if you knew this much you can very well provide their names as well, with this thread it looks like you are delusional to the core ,manipulation in a market is a regular occurrence and traders like to cash in the maximum during these times and even if the price of the coin touches rock bottom traders will find a way to earn money from it.

I don't think the current trends are price manipulation. It is pure, unadulterated, free market.
Price manipulation is illegal and could land you in jail if proven in a court of law.
560  Economy / Economics / Re: whether bitcoin influence on the world economy? on: January 13, 2017, 11:09:47 PM

possible bitcoin prices affect the world economy?
such as the high price of bitcoin again, if the price of the price of basic commodities will go up?

give your opinion?

No effect at all. Bitcoin is not yet recognized in most countries although they or some knew the existence of Bitcoin but accepting Bitcoin as a crypto currency is not yet accomplished. That being said, regardless of the current BTC price against the Dollar, BTC still have no significant effect in the world economy. Maybe not until Bitcoin reached the status that it is widely accepted all over the world.
A crypto currencies that has market capitalization above 16,000,000,000usd has it own effect on the Economics of many nations especially the third world countries. South African and some Asian countries are used bitcoin as a mode of transactions daily. Many people currently are being employed and pay in crypto currencies. Exchange rate to dollar in some country has improved including usa. This are sign that very soon bitcoin will be legalized in most third world countries and with will terminate inequality in their systems.

$16 Bn is a pittance. Oracle has a market capitalization of $160+Bn, which is 10 times that of Bitcoin. Do you think Oracle has an impact on the South African economy? Price, by itself, is irrelevant.
