541  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Telegram wallet now has p2p on: March 01, 2024, 06:58:01 AM
Telegram might not well replace binance in any way, it would do slow at times to get users that are ready to sell or exchange crypto with you and as we know it, telegram is home to various kind of scammers which might choice to exploit newbies to steal their funds, you well know the risk of p2p, one user can have evil intentions behind his phone.
542  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Government demanding from Binance the lists of its Nigerian users on: March 01, 2024, 06:54:13 AM
FG detains two Binance executives –Report

Two senior executives of Binance were allegedly to have been detained by the federal government. The executive officers flew to Nigeria after Binance website was taken down by the NCC in a way Nigeria can not be able to access the website. Although, the site is still accessible through the mobile app.

The federal government are demanding to see a list of Binance Nigerian users since the exchange inception, a person familiar with the matter said.

What exactly does the government want to use a list of users for, do they plan on picking us out too, that's why I hate anything centralized they take too much information that can end up implicating users, they have our nin number, bvn number and even our full names and house address, if this was to be a case that the government would want to get stupid, many person's would be caught up in their stupidity.

And what's the need of detaining the binance executives
Is that even legal in any way ?
543  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Are nodes part of a security counter measure in the blockchain on: March 01, 2024, 06:47:10 AM
Trying to grasp the technology behind the bitcoin blockchain and why so many things happen the way they do has become quite a confusion to me, I read about bitcoin blockchain and I saw that nodes help to validate transaction and all of them or most of them must agree something like voting that is been done before they store or validate a transaction, and I am a bit confused about this or how it works, in fact instead of going into much detail on what I know, I wish someone would help me out by answering my questions that help enlighten me, I've also come across a recent topic about nodes but it doesn't quite ease my curiosity.

I don't have the best english please mind me 🙏

1. What is a node and what is its function

2. Is the node a protective counter measure to protect the blockchain from scammers

3.if the nodes act as a validator does this protection still extends to exchanges and why are they being hacked, cause I know that bitcoin is actually stored on a location in the blockchain and if it's anti bodies are nodes, how do some exchanges still get hacked ?

Please is me been confused, don't mind me for asking this kind of question, you can provide me with a link for me to read about it if you have one, I'll really appreciate.
544  Economy / Speculation / Re: Can Bitcoin be trusted? on: March 01, 2024, 06:05:16 AM
I won't advice you to convince anyone into investing in bitcoin because clearly bitcoin remains a very volatile asset for now and could drop anytime soon in price and anyone who is not ready to face the reality of things would go finding someone to blame and you don't want to end up spoiling your relationship with a friend.

So ill advice you tell him to do his own research and learn about bitcoin on his own that's the only way he can actually grow, it's not all about investing but also security too and this is something that he needs to learn before even thinking about buying bitcoin.
545  Economy / Speculation / Re: Buy the DIP, and HODL! on: March 01, 2024, 06:00:28 AM
As we can see the way the whole things are going now with the bitcoin market performance, this is to encourage us the more to hold if we have not yet done any and embrace the patient needed till we arrive at the 2024 halving and thereafter, if we really have the target of bullrun at mind, we can then go by this because this is one of the provided opportunity for an investment in bitcoin as we are more likely to have the highs more often than before and there's more possibility that we are going to experience a new all time high right before the halving begins, the recent market performance is the first impression on that, we can as well as consult more conviction from the past halving's in record.

Our patients should not be till the next halving that's not our goal here, we should be more concerned about getting more Bitcoin in our stash untill we are 4 years into Bitcoin then we can start thinking of taking profits, your patience sounds so short term like we need to take profits right after the halving.

Both bull and bear are part of the Bitcoin cycle and it doesn't need to take us off course from our plan as long term holders, I know that it's possible to be thinking in terms of taking profits to buy back when the price is lower but you never know if that would happen or if Bitcoin would just set a new record and never return to price like 35-40k range, selling Bitcoin at higher to price to buy back at lower price is risky and can be seen as gambling and one thing to have in mind is you can never be so smart.
Taking profits like you said is dependent on many factor and also based on individual preference. It will not be wise to sell your Bitcoin when you have not figured out how you will be able to manage the proceeds, else you may misuse the money and run out of Bitcoin. Instead of a situation like this, it is better to hold across different market cycles like the early buyers are doing, I mean those who bought 2013 and thereabouts who have seen many market cycles but never took profits like most of you are suggesting.

My plan is to hold beyond this market cycle and if eventually another bear market comes, I will simply use it to gain more Bitcoin at lower prices. I understand others might have other plans are are free to use any approach the are fine with but my concern is to ensure I do not run out of Bitcoin.
Taking profit from your Bitcoin investment is not something bad and worth debating since all purpose of investment is basically to get profit at the very end of investing. During this profit taking one should understand a simple terminology like this one, firstly who holds longer makes the best profits, then why collect profits too early if your goal as an investor is to make steady profits with your investment, taking some profits after separate cycles is not bad as per if the need for it occurs.

No one said collecting profits is bad besides that's the aim of investing, but your forgetting that most of us here are just early investors and if not that we are privileged to see a bull run so early in our investment we won't be talking about taking profits, the idea was to accumulate bitcoin irrespective of the price untill we have quite the stash, this accumulation period was supposed to last for up to 4 years as a minimum, cause this is a full cycle and you can now successful calculate you DCA buying average and see how much bitcoin you have accumulated, then at this point you should be well prepared for profits.

The question we should all be asking ourselves is how many bitcoin do I have and am I well prepared for the bull and if I decide to take profits now would I be opportunited to buy back this price or would I find myself buying at a more expensive price ?

Don't forget that engaging in practices like collecting profits too early on our investment can lead to regret or we even delay our accumulation process because we had to collect profits on our investment and saying you want to time the market to buy back at a lower price is some what seen as gambling and is not the right thing to do.

Hold your bitcoin and keep on buying, no one is saying taking profits is bad, but is it the right time? And have you accumulated enough? .
546  Economy / Speculation / Re: 100 Push-Ups A Day Until Bitcoin Is $100K Challenge on: February 29, 2024, 11:40:10 PM
It hasn't really been easy for me to keep up with the 100  push ups everyday. The first day I started, I woke up in the morning with several aches all over my body. I was having pains on my muscles all over. I suffered this because for long I haven't been exercising my body. My body is reacting to the new activities, I couldn't complete 100 push up since my first trial. I don't know if anyone else is experiencing same thing.

Cheesy literally being there. Waking up some ache on over your body , or try laughing when feeling such pains. But still you feeling such oain shows that the pushups is really showing effect on your body as time goes and you keep hitting it your body would only get used it but you will also see a great changes in your body (getting fit) . As bitcoin is experiencing some pump lately so do I in my pushups. Because the joy seeing my portfolio increasing is enough to make keep hitting the pushups till bitcoin hit $100k.

The pain is part of the building process and it's nothing to worry about, feeling that pain is a sign that it's actually working, I'm also feeling pain in my deltoid and my chest muscles from this morning workout,  It was fun I challenged my friends to it, we did a lot of excerise from early in the morning starting by 6 which we did jogging and then followed by sit ups and then we did the hardest push ups, we actually did different sets with different kind of push ups, I went for the diamond first since it helps pump out the muscles, then the wide arm push ups, it was stressful but I still managed to hit my target of 70 push ups before I got fully exhausted.
Exercising with friends and love ones actually fun, it would be more competitive. Trying to hit the highest pushups or the one with the with the best stamina shit like that. 70 that pretty good now I see why you are exhausted,  well the fun part is that we building our portfolio and our body too. Before I hitting the sack think I would do some extra pushups to warm up.

You had your fun excersing with your friends, make sure you take some pain killers to feel relive faster although it's unecessary to take it cause it would subside on its own, I'm quite used to the pain that comes with excerise myself cause I've been into it for a while now.

Well who have seen that the price of bitcoin has exceeded 60k, it seems our push ups has been working and the bitcoin price is pumping in correspondence to it.

It's so much fun to do excerise and remember that the bitcoin is moving upwards.
547  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Learn from other person's mistakes on: February 29, 2024, 10:23:35 PM
The more people become aware of how easy it is to lose your funds and holdings in crypto then the more alert and security conscious they would be, most person's just rushed into crypto bought a token or coin and kept on their wallets, they don't even know what their private keys are or even the basic of what they are doing, and most of them are this that came in because of the money aspect than the empowerment crypto currency has brought to us.

Learning about security must be the first thing newbies must do if they want to really stay safe in this crypto verse.
548  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: New crypto scam drains users' wallets without transaction approval(beware). on: February 29, 2024, 10:18:28 PM
Do you mean the wallet can be drained without transaction approval?

How is this possible when there's no gas fee used to initiate the transaction?
You also haven't mentioned which network is unsafe: ETH, BNB, SOL, etc.
You could've quoted some lines from the article for readers to understand without going through the whole article.
Anyways, thanks for the info.

Like he gave such an incomplete advice, how would I know what your are warning me about, or maybe he didn't even understand the information he was trying to pass.

Everyone needs to be careful about the crypto space scammers are getting more innovative everyday and would even disguise as legit company to get access to our funds, it's better you work with trusted platforms like electrum and blue wallet that has so many positive usage and reviews than just jumping into a new wallet without prior knowledge to it's developers or team behind it's creation.
549  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How much knowledge is enough to satisfy an individual on: February 29, 2024, 10:14:00 PM
You can only seek knowledge according to your level of curiosity and hunger to know, there are person's that would prefer to stay idle or sit still than learn something.

And there are also some that can't stay a day without learning something new or adding a knowledge to their head.

Man cannot be satisfied by anything and no level of knowledge is enough for any person that is curious enough, like elon musk even at his age and achievement he is still very interested in having more knowledge and creating new things.
550  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I have to hold on tight on: February 29, 2024, 10:08:01 PM
At the time you bought bitcoin earlier when you wrote this post bitcoin was very low and we had not entered the bull run or slow signs of it, and if you've actually held your bitcoins without selling right now the price would have tripled on your portfolio and if you leave it even more you could be getting up to five to six time profits on your investment. Patients is one of the most important asset any long term holder can have cause if you are not well disciplined you would sell off due to any price fluctuations and you won't be able to reap the benefits of your investment.
551  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A famous influencer lost more than $4000 in just 2 minutes. (2) on: February 29, 2024, 09:55:16 PM
I think the effect is always the same for both high earners and low earners, everyone would feel regret if he loses more than he should or if she gambles with more money than he can afford to lose.

And it's also possible it's just fake news, we now influencers these days stage fake events just to get some views from it or to promote a casino site, but either way losing such amount would hurt anyone especially if it's your all.
552  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling for fun and not a way of making money on: February 29, 2024, 09:46:53 PM
You can actually gamble for fun but that's not without the motivation of winning, how would you feel if what you are doing for fun just involves you spending money all the time without receiving anything back from it sometimes, it would actually be more interesting if it was done for fun and still promises to pay you.

But many people actually view gambling from one perspective of getting money and that's why they find it hard to control themselves from not gambling everyday or too much, and since its viewed as something that gives money they would want to give more into it than usual
553  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: your perception about gambling on: February 29, 2024, 09:39:29 PM
The society often see gamblers as irresponsible and jobless cause most at times they show some level of addiction and you would hear stupid stories so often of how people wrecked their finances through gambling, so with so much bad new spreading more than the good people are actually seeing gamblers in general as irresponsible irrespective of person and how they manage it's addiction.

Yeah because of the stigma around gambling it's as tho pastors that are supposed to be at the pinacle of being responsible should not indulge in a habit as irresponsible as that, because they feel that doing so means you are irresponsible too.

In general I don't have any negative perspective at gamblers cause I indulge in it too, so I guess this interview would have made more sense hearing from non gamblers.
554  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling still pays regardless of our losses on: February 29, 2024, 09:32:24 PM
Surely you would have times that you would win, but the question is compared to your loses how much profit have you made, gambling is just like throwing or trying to guess the next good project and investing in them hoping for some returns, they is every possibility that you would invest in so many bad projects and few good once or vice versa, so your rate of success is surely dependant on if you have more wins than loses.

You must just be feeling very happy for your win and Its good, but before you would cash out this amount again you must have lost quite the amount.
555  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do not gamble with Loan Money~otherwise you will be in danger like me on: February 29, 2024, 09:23:41 PM
I would have said that the story was made up upfront but I'll better reserve that since there is no prove, but why exactly would you use borrowed funds to gamble, it's just like knowingly choking your neck with your hands.

Op I would say you acted so unwisely even with so many threads on this forum that actually talks about not doing such, I guess it's a popular saying on this board gamble with what you can afford to lose, and if you lived by this principle you won't have found yourself in such mess like you are right now
556  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can Anyone +18 Play Gamble? on: February 29, 2024, 04:21:47 PM
This question actually really doesn't add up
I'm sure a lot of people would agree that experience actually comes from doing something
So if people who have satisfied the age requirements want to play but do not have the experience then they should be allowed to play
Experience makes you win better but one has to get there gradually
Starting to play without experience gives you the will and drive to actually want to win regardless of how little or great the losses you take might be at the time
So yes people without experience should be allowed to play because how else are they going to get the experience
557  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are you a generous gamblers on: February 29, 2024, 04:05:33 PM
In my opinion you have to first be a generous person before you can the be a generous gambler
It is imperative that you notice that generosity goes beyond gambling
It is a reflection of the kind of person that you are
Having the people close to you, friends and family, in mind when you gamble and hit a jackpot is something that should be commended
I can say I'm a generous gambler because I know how ready I am to do whatever for my family and friends
But it takes an extent of wisdom to achieve this
Gamblers are often associated with greed because most gamblers usually do questionable things to satisfy the gambling urge and this turns around to hurt the very people who you intend to fend for with your winnings
It takes a wise person to be a generous gambler because regardless of how much you want to win and help people you love, the wise ones know when to sit back and cool off and not do any extra

559  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: who Want To Bet On 2024 USA elections? on: February 28, 2024, 07:53:36 PM
Betting on election is like playing a virtual or stimulated game, you know most elections are rigged and it's not free and fair like a football match that is based on competitive power.

But it's not such a bad idea, at least we know those that are most likely to win since  I'm sure amongst all the many candidates you would find only two that are actually well spoken and seems to be the major candidates amongst others, so ill just narrow my odds towards them, and I'll surely stake if they give a good odds. Besides it's all for the money.
560  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Europa League 2023/24 Season on: February 28, 2024, 07:49:49 PM
Galatasaray beat Sparta Prague 3-2 in the first leg. In fact, Sparta Prague played better than Galatasaray in that game too, but in the last minute Icardi scored a great goal to give Galatasaray a chance to advance to the next round.

The Sparta Prague team I watched against Galatasaray was a good team. I don't give them much chance against Liverpool, just like you, but any team that reaches this stage of the tournament has the potential to win the cup. If Liverpool underestimate Sparta Prague, they will be eliminated from the tournament. They have to be careful.
All the teams that managed to reach the last 16 of the European League are of course the best teams and should not be underestimated, as you said, Sparta Prague managed to reach the last 16 by beating Galatasaray which is a club that is strengthened by many star players, Sparta  success Beating Galatasaray proves that Sparta Prague can be a threat for Liverpool to win the European League trophy this season, from the available statistics, so far the two teams have only met twice with 1 win for Liverpool and 1 draw.

Indeed, in terms of the quality of Liverpool's game, it is clearly better than Sparta, but if we look at Sparta's position, which is currently capable of being at the top of the standings in the Czech league, of course Liverpool cannot take them lightly, I quite agree with you, Klopp should not take Sparta lightly because after all it is possible that Sparta will give Liverpool a surprise in the first leg, especially since Sparta will play at home, which will make the Sparta players more motivated to beat Liverpool, so if Liverpool loses in the first leg of course it will make Liverpool have to try harder to win in the second leg, especially now that Liverpool will face a fairly tight schedule that has the potential to make their main players tired in the second leg.

Your not wrong at all, underestimating any team that made it to the round of 16 is a poor choice, if you have been following up on the league you would find out that they scored quite the amount of goals on a average of 2 in almost every match, and I think sparta is a good team cause I did least expect them to beat a team like Galatasaray which in terms of form was quite higher than them.

Liverpool might have a hard time against them but I am least expecting them to let their hard down against sparta, they have a good defence that sparta might find a hard time breaking unless by counter measures, liverpool is back on form and salah has resumed from injuries, liverpool might be aiming to win the europa league since apart from the fa cup they are not in any big cup.
