541  Economy / Speculation / Re: back to 220 tomorrow time to sell is now on: June 23, 2015, 05:54:17 PM
Yesterday it took over 8000 btc to get from 243 to 248. It took a 600btc sale to go back again to 243.
Downtrend is NOT broken. Still very strong. But feel free to hang on to your cognitive dissonance.

What we know is you were wrong in your prediction. Right now is very difficult to say if we are on a uptrend or a downtrend. Bitcoin's volatility is way too high in average, but lately the price is too stable. 30 dollar up dont mean uptrend, 30 dollar down don't mean downtrend.
What's for sure is, positive news are racking up, things are moving. The price will translate into that, but the price always goes with delay.
542  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Debit Cards: A Real Alternative? on: June 23, 2015, 05:45:30 PM
they cannot provide proper anonimity ever, because from the moment, you purchase a thing and you write your address and name, for the shipping tdetail you are already out of luck in regard to anonimity

also they are very expensive, when bitcoin is aiming at reducing cost for moving money, so a bit contradictory to use something that go against the philosophy of crypto

Well, that is the case if you do any payments thought platforms like Bitpay or whatever, or when you withdraw from an exchange that requires ID data. Bitcoin stops being anonymous when it's linked to your credentials.. that's why we need improvements in privacy like the ones proposed by Gmaxwell.
543  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin XT VS Bitcoin Core on: June 23, 2015, 05:42:27 PM
I think there were several existing threads on this topic where you could have advertised that article. No need to start another.

This. In any case, what will make Bitcoin lose it's value is when it collapses due the small 1MB blocksize, which will inevitably happen sooner or later, with LN or without LN, so there.
544  Other / Off-topic / Re: Bitcoin and Porn on: June 23, 2015, 05:38:28 PM
so now there is a few ladys streaming over https://streamium.io/ you could find them on reddit, just make sure the are legit and not get fooled by a dude using a video to rip off your btc.
How much are these girls making vs the big websites such as myfreecams or chaturbate? if we could get some objective data that proves it's more profitable to be on streamium then we could get tons of girls moving from those big websites to the less populated streamium.
545  Economy / Auctions / Re: How much can I sell a domain name related to Bitcoin for? (in BTC) on: June 23, 2015, 05:25:46 PM
http://www.siteprice.org/

Use this site. The more visits and results in search browsers it gets the more the price.
If it has 0 traffic.. you'll have to set an arbitrary price and expect someone wants it.
546  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Hardware Wallets - Secure your Coins! :-) on: June 22, 2015, 09:33:42 PM
Imo offline paperwallet easily made with Armory is still the best super long storage way to go. Im too lazy to get it done but i'll eventually do it. For now i've been rocking Core for ages and i've never had a problem. Just don't install malware.
547  Economy / Economics / Re: What to buy.. what to buy.. on: June 22, 2015, 09:29:30 PM
I think Bitcoin is your best choice at the moment.

At the moment? I wouldn't be so sure about that. The gold market seems much more better right now and it would be a pretty nice investment too. Yes, bitcoins are attractive and exciting but lets be realistic, gold is fucking gold. Its beautiful and it will always be precious unless we develop gold extracting tech which removes gold from sea water.

Gold is always a safe haven, but it's not very exciting unless you are already rich. Is there something better than gold to keep your wealth safe? nope. It's gold the best investment long term to become rich as a non rich person? nope. Is Bitcoin more risky than gold? Yes. Is Bitcoin a way better investment to become rich than gold? Yes.
548  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 5 Chinese mining pools propose 8MB block size on: June 22, 2015, 09:15:57 PM
Finally we have a resolution. The bosses of Bitcoin have spoken.
That's correct. The miners control Bitcoin. They determine what is a valid block. Those five mining companies have over 60% of the hash rate.

For the first time, they're now acting together to take control of the network. The original developers no longer matter.

I wonder what Satoshi thinks about the fact a bunch of Chinese miners can decide the fate of BTC for coming decades. He predicted that mining would get more and more centralized tho, but not sure about development decisions.
549  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Whats the most expensive Thing you have bought with bitcoin? on: June 22, 2015, 09:12:39 PM
I haven't bought anything physical. I've only bought other alts. Maybe when I have more i'll considering buying something physical, but it will most likely require that i convert to fiat first anyway.
550  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The problem is choice itself regarding blocksize on: June 22, 2015, 09:10:16 PM
Isnt 8MB increase every 2 years + LN the best solution? We have planed halvings, planed increases on the blocksize limit would be as convenient.

Technology will keep making storage cheaper and cheaper. But yes, i agree that no matter what, it's only the hardcore people that will run nodes. The average end user is going to use something like Electrum or whatever. We had tons of nodes early on because we only had Bitcoin QT.
551  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Ultimate Bitcoin Stress Test - Monday June 22nd - 13:00 GMT on: June 22, 2015, 09:03:41 PM
I had to wait an hour and a half for the 1st confirmation earlier which was a bit irritating till i found this thread , but it wasn't really a problem.
I hope someone learned something useful out of this.

I learned that we need bigger blocks literally now. My transaction is still unconfirmed after 3 hours lol.
552  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin will slide back down to 230 by end of June 24th on: June 21, 2015, 09:42:45 PM
It's actually good advice considering it's probably fallling with yet another alt, but ask yourself: How much are you going to risk for such small gains vs being left behind in a true up-rise scenario? (something no one can predict). Everyone knows BTC tends to oscillate 30-40 dollars up and down, but if your short at the wrong moment you are going to hate yourself.
553  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Use cases. What do you actually use Bitcoin for? on: June 21, 2015, 09:39:43 PM
Speculation/Investment/Saving .when i spend 1 btc for example, it feels like i'm giving up a lot  more than 250 Dollars .I think subconsciously i'm taking into account their future value.

That's exactly what everyone except mega whales feel. We all feel we are spending something too valuable in trivial goods, which you would rather pay in your local fiat instead. How to get rid of this feeling you ask? I have no idea. Maybe in a society where BTC is everywhere, I don't see any other way.
554  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Methods of growing your Bitcoin? on: June 21, 2015, 09:24:17 PM
Hi! Cheesy

I recently created a thread asking for the best methods of gaining free Bitcoin.

Most popular results:
  • Signature Campaign (High Paying)
  • Faucets (Low Paying)
  • Trading (Variable)

Now, I'm asking a different question.
What are your best methods of growing Bitcoin.

Only refer to safe investments!

Thanks

You can always invest with Bitcoin. Over 300 days running investment fund and keep going strong. Over $17mil payout so far.

No, surely not. Why do you promote such a clear ponzi. Dont you value your neutral trust? I cant believe that you believe that this is legit.

You should stop trying to catch noobs in this.

@noobs You will lose your investment 100%.

I saw that thread where dserrano5 (legendary and staff member) gets accused of promoting a ponzi scheme (cloudthink.io)

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1092890.msg11654940

Im bringing this up because tons of stuff gets accused as ponzi these days. Is cloudthink.io really a ponzi too? I thought it was legit, there's tons of people with their avatar and signature all over the forum and don't see nothing happening.
555  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What does Bitcoin mean to you (A poll) on: June 21, 2015, 09:16:10 PM
the banks were good in past to protect our money then they just made plans to use lend our money and get a fee ,if i wanna go bank i must wait 1 hour if not more just to make some direct deposit or to talk to manager of the account .. with bitcoin  i can lend my money the same way ask a loan and well i believe bitcoin will and already is the best way to save money from problems that is affecting all countries.... sure there is a risk but pretty sure that is better get something then the banks bankrupt and lost all.... already happened.... financial system only allow to politicians to steal our money .... corruption... not investing on education roads ,there is soo many things that must be done  but they just dont wanna know.... better get rich in a year then make some to all people use....

Ya but the multinational banks will never get bankrupt and your money is safe in the bank thats what I believe. But yes you can get rid of standing in a queue to make the deposits you can get rid of the paper work that the banking system involves so I would generally prefer using bitcoin to get rid of traditional banking system for sure.

I think banks will exist forever. Even if the world went 100% Bitcoin which is the ideal scenario of course.. there would still be a big market of banks for the people that don't have the nerve to store their own wealth and want someone else to do the job. Even if personally I think it defeats one of the main purposes of Bitcoin, it's a legitimate option.
556  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: mastercard attacking Bitcoin on: June 21, 2015, 09:11:53 PM
Their main line of attack against Bitcoin is their undeniable superiority of volume of transactions per second. In the latest Gavin's approach which is 8mb increase every two years, we would have the following:

(B=bytes, b=bits, 500 bytes/Tx)

2016 8MB 0.1Mb/s 26Tx/s

2018 16MB 0.2Mb/s 53Tx/s

2020 32MB 0.4Mb/s 106Tx/s

2022 64MB 0.9Mb/s 213Tx/s

2024 128MB 1.7Mb/s 426Tx/s

2026 256MB 3.4Mb/s 853Tx/s

2028 512MB 6.8Mb/s 1700Tx/s

2030 1024MB 14Mb/s 3400Tx/s

2032 2048MB 27Mb/s 6800Tx/s

2034 4096MB 55Mb/s 13600Tx/s

2036 8192MB 109Mb/s 27300Tx/s

END OF BLOCK SIZE INCREASE

That would mean it will take 20 years to reach Visa's transaction peak volume. Even with LN, we'll still have problem to reach the ultimate goal, which is worldwide fluid usage. Im just hoping solutions are found along the way.
557  Economy / Speculation / Re: Do you think bitcoin will reach it's $1000 mark again? on: June 21, 2015, 12:20:26 AM
Bitcoin will increase in the next 2 mouths
I have a system but I don't have the necessary money
I know you already here a lots of system but nah
Every one is different.
Well why don't you tell us your magic system then? you can loan it to someone if it's that good and both can get profits.
558  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: how much can you make weekly? on: June 21, 2015, 12:11:51 AM
I believe I make 300000 sat or so with faucets...
it's just for the fun.

That is an interesting amount, what is your time investment on the usual?

I do not know exactly...
i'm almost all the day at my computer.
i have my favorite  few faucets under my eyes on my sites...
When I have a moment (during whatching TV often) i can claim faucets from my own rotators.
But I cannot say exactly because I have also referrals...
300000 is an estimation in average.

Always faucet is really wasting your time, if you have time you can do signature campaign and it will pay you a lot. How much time did you take to get 300,000 sat? Compared it to signature campaign you will know the result

As found on the internet...

Mining for 24/7 for 7 days

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=E_PeYgMbiVk

Is this some kind of ponzi? Because there are a lot of ponzi scheme that try to scam people

Sig campaign doesn't pay that much. To make "a lot" you need to post way too much, not worth, any minimum wage job will pay more for the time that it takes to post those amounts of posts.
559  Economy / Economics / Re: Please clarify Fractional-Reserve Banking with respect to Bitcoin on: June 20, 2015, 10:24:46 PM
Why would we need fracional reserve when 1 Bitcoin can be divided as much as you want? supply and demand will make the price lower or higher. Even if there was 1 BTC availible only, he economy would still function under it (extreme hypothetical scenareo just for exemplary purposes)
560  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Core developers for 0.10.0+ have fucked up severely on: June 20, 2015, 10:19:38 PM
The incentive is only you completely control your keys so it is more secure, and you can do a ton of cool shit in the debug console. That is overshadowed by the major disincentive of Bitcoin Core taking days to synch if you're able to synch at all, and now numerous internal fatal errors that require a rebuild of the blockchain which takes days. Abandonment of core for lite/online wallets is the easiest solution, only people who understand how dangerous that is put in the effort to keep core up and running on their computer.

I don't think the average user is going to care about what nerd stuff you can do on the debug console.
We need a higher amount of people running nodes that is a fact. We can't live off a small % of hardcore users.
