Let me tell you a short story ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif) Had a visit from a friend that I dont see very much. Now this guy is pretty woken up and is open to new ideas (favourite film is 'They live'), so I thought I'd point him towards towards monetary independance from the bankster global tyranny/war machine. I says, take a look at our amazing coin (not sure to call it a coin but anyway), we can mine it and be our own banks and legally (for now) we have amazing wondrous things like multi layered untracable mixing and instantX, let me demonstrate... mmm, so I open the wallet to show this unique transaction locking gizmo and I can't find the InstantX tickbox anywhere ![Roll Eyes](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/rolleyes.gif) It gets worse, I says, thinking I can redeem the situation somewhat, here look we can anonymize coins in real time, watch .. errr ! where is the the darksend enable, for that matter where has the start mix button gone ![Huh](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/huh.gif) OMG all the nifty functions have disappeared !? It must be one of them weird window registry problems like when bits of the browser start to disappear I am thinking. And I never did suss it during his visit, I gave him 2 Dash to a new exchange account to play with, he was into the trading side and has a hidden nerd side which always helps with explanations. So the next day I goes to delete the Dash folder to try reinstall and see if that magically brings back my beloved instantX button. I am just about to cast everything into the recycle bin, when I think ,why don't I check the config, and you know what, I had set it to litemode a few days earlier and then totally forgotten I'd done it and figured it had broken instead Haha, alls well that ends well ![Cool](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cool.gif)

A dissenter amongst the ranks, Dear Mike, https://www.mail-archive.com/bitcoin-development@lists.sourceforge.net/msg08276.html'' - Do you understand that attempting to break this process by unilateral hard-fork is extremely weakening of Bitcoin's change governance model?''
'' Do you understand that change governance is important, and that it is important that there be multiple reviewers and sign-off to avoid someone being blackmailed or influenced by an external party - which could potentially result in massive theft of funds if something were missed?'' ''... retract the unilateral hard-fork which is so dangerous and lets have things be calm, civil and collaborative in the technical zone of Bitcoin and not further alarm companies and investors.'' ~~Adam Back~~

Cool image! have you done it? if so, can I use it for an article I'm writing for a Bitcoin Spanish speaking website about the Dash network?
Ask Tao, I take credit for nothing apart from the Tao sync ratio and some mining tips, lol

Amazing listening to that guy. The depth of analysis he goes to blows any mainstream commentator I've ever seen OUT....OF.....THE....WATER. He's also pretty consistent through the years.
Don't won't to off topic too much, am figure its all connected and makes the thread more interesting, and he tells a great story ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif) I would say hes been about 98% accurate during the 4 or 5 years I've been following him and hes just starting to cast his eye towards cryptocurrencies which should be interesting. ('we treated Japan to Fukushima...we installed Shinzo Abe, US tool micro leader fool...voter fraud...' )

Some sunday afternoon listening. Dr Jim Willie says the eastern elites are sick of the psychopath western elites destroying the planet through War/fracking/GM/..... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nW6M4C22E20Also that the Russians and Chinese no longer use the dollar to trade in oil and soon they will trade directly with Saudi Arabia using 'gold trade notes' as they switch over to gold in step increments from the renminbi (during the demise of treasury notes-while dumping them)

Yup... reserve currencies seem to hold their own longer...
My crystal ball forsees world reserve crypto currencies having a limited life span that bloggers will one day post in charts: Year 2009 - 2018 : Bitcoin Year 2018 - 2111 : Dash Year 2111 - : Dash 3d

Fun fact; The average life expectancy of a FIAT currency is 27 years.... this blew my mind away....

The two things I'm losing sleep over right now (and neither of them are recycled nonsense about naming issues).
[1] - are sidechains going to be huge and solve all problems for bitcoin or aren't they ?
[/url]
Are the 2 way peg frozen transactions staggered in the middle of the 2 chains (kind of like an equivalent of transaction locking) perhaps without the speed of the masternodes? How are they staggered, is it a case of updating the bitcoin blockchain, if so this must be slow, (only other option is memory pool?) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9pyVvq-vrrMGreg Maxwell say 10 transactions on testnet so thats = 100 minutes for producing a contract to be pegged to the sidechain, sounds clunky but I suppose thats why its on testnet. Isn't this a case of using an old (but classic) car to tow another more modern car, The second car is more advanced but uses the same basic internal combustion chamber(i.e.blockchain), although the towed car has some flashy features, its also tends to break down more due it's complexity and compatibility with the old classics' systems. The reverse analogy, is the masternodes being the fast car towing the old clunky 2.5 minute blockchain along behind it. How is it possible to solve either the scaling problem or slow block times with this kind of method, what am I missing ?

... Resistance to what? We are all just people in our computers trying to develop new payment systems. We are not in the Tienanmen Square fighting for democracy. ...
Its not us who are resisting rather it is those that oppose us flipping it on it's head and constructing a narrative that somehow there is a hidden agenda in here somewhere, whereas the reality is that everything is transparent as it can be for those who bother to look properly. (eg. source code, github, forum, twitter, etc)
