541  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Inoue vs Casimero (possible fight in 2024) Let's discuss! on: January 04, 2024, 12:48:11 PM
Last time I checked, Casimero wasn't in the top 3, so I'm surprised with this information. Despite his not impressive performance in this previous fight, he was still given a credit and that probably resulted to increase his ranking. This is very good, with this, there's a likelihood that this fight could potentially happen as he is next in rank after Nery.

My prediction here is that he will fight Casimero first then after that ( if he wins), he will fight Nery outside the US and he will move up to another divison to fight the champions. Seems it's a good plan becuse he will introduce himself again and a good way to end the reign in the current division since he'll be moving up after.

The WBO rankings was just updated last December 17, 2023, so this is very new. WBO might have in mind that if they put Casimero on higher rankings, he could potentially fight for a championship belt against Inoue thus they earn some sanctioning money too, clever move on their part and by the way, WBO is friendly to Pinoy fighters while WBC to Mexican fighters as well (might not true but that is my observation).

Casimero is well known among individuals here, however besides that, how can he merit a match with Inoue when he has not performed perfectly in this weight? The WBO has high regard for Casimero because he was their champion previously and he did not lose the belt in the ring. Casimero could offer a match to the boxers above the WBO rank to position himself number one.

Likewise, I observed the WBC as more friendly to the Mexicans because they are situated in Mexico. WBO is Puerto Rican, and it has its own extraordinary champions. Manny Pacquiao, Oleksandr Usyk and Teofimo Lopez are some examples.
I don't know who Sam Goodman is but he is currently the number 1 in the ranking, followed by Neri then Casimero. Murodjon Akhmadaliev is just number 6 in the ranking, so I don't understand why Inoue had missed to mention Sam Goodman. Honestly, I don't know this guy, but I'm surprise he is in the number 1 ranking. So if Inoue will fight the challenger in WBO, he could fight Sam Goodman and then Casimero vs Nery, winners of both fight will afce each other, how's that sound?
542  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Some tips to help protect yourself from crypto scam on: January 03, 2024, 10:10:21 PM
Doing your own research will surely help someone avoiding scam attempts. This is an additional to do your own research which is to research about different typed of scam attempts then when you see something the same as what you have searched then you'll know that it's a scam. In other words, you will have lots or knowledge about how scammers scam people or how scammers scam people. If you know many types then it would be much easier to avoid scam sites and many more. It could slso be shared to another person to let them know that it is a scam scheme.
Being knowledgeable will help you find an edge towards those scammers. Study how others have been scammed and how they easily fall on their traps, because that will give you hint not to follow what those victims have did so you won't end up being scammed as well. Always learned from other people's shared experiences about how they were scammed, so that you can also share your learning to others most particularly those newbies in the forum.

Scam is already part of crypto, and the only way we can avoid it is to stay alert and mindful on the people around us.
543  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: When betting on sports, which one to choose -110 or +110? on: January 03, 2024, 07:37:09 AM

-110 I think translates to 1.10

No sir, -110 translate to 1.91. While 1.10 is equivalent to -1000.. That's american moneyline actually. I think there's an option in a sportsbook where we can choose whether we use decimal odds or american.
Yes, he is right. Use this to help out with converting.
https://www.aceodds.com/bet-calculator/odds-converter.html
Credits to the owner of that website. Very helpful.
-1000 means a heavy favorite which translates to 1.10 like @Maslate said.

Alright, back to the question of OP.
I think it will depend on the teams or players that will be playing. I always prefer the 1.90 (-110) and that's actually a bit high for me. I can go down to 1.60 - 1.70 because I think the chances of winning are also getting higher.
+110 or 2.10 makes the chances go lower especially when we are picking the right spreads.
I've had my share of mistakes for only 1 point difference because of that greediness. Example: Instead of picking -4.5 = 1.80, I picked -5.5 = 1.90. Then, that team will win by just 5 points. I could've won it if I stopped being greedy and just accepted the odds that would suffice to cover. I know that team will win and I have no doubts but the guessing of the spreads is the hardest part of all and 1 point can make a big difference.
So yes, I will pick 1.90 over 2.10 and I will accept even lower than 1.90.

Nice explanation. Yours is based on your actual experience, that's what we all need here to make this thread significant.

Personally I still find 1.90 giving a higher chance of winning, but the question is, is it profitable?

We are talking of long term profitability ratio here, and personally, if I would choose +110 in all of my bets. I woudl make sure I will limit my bets and will just choose some quality games that I'm confident I'll be able to cap it right.
544  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: January 03, 2024, 05:39:14 AM
You guys have an idea what this team is?

Report: Dwight Howard Signs Contract with Philippines Team amid NBA Comeback Hopes

Quote
Eight-time NBA All-Star Dwight Howard intends to sign with the Philippines-based Strong Group, according to Shams Charania of The Athletic and Stadium.

The deal will run through the Dubai International Basketball Championship, which tips off Jan. 19 and concludes Jan. 28 in the United Arab Emirates.

I haven't heard this team yet, maybe you guys know, please tell me their players.
IMO, for a team to sign Dwight, this team might be a rich team, as we know Dwight isn't an ordinary player although he is not getting any younger.
545  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Are you ready for crypto investing in 2024? on: January 02, 2024, 09:59:17 PM
Always ready for that. My goal is to gain more profits this year compared last year so the only way to make it happen is to keep investing in bitcoin until I can see my goals gradually happening in time. Altcoins can also be profitable if you invest in the right and reliable coins, but it’s hard to tell if we are in the right coins since the altcoin market is the playground of scammers. Hence, sticking to bitcoin for now should be our first and primary goal.
546  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: January 02, 2024, 11:38:01 AM
It's amazing how Los Angeles, which won its first in-season tournament as champions, ended up in such a bad situation.
Yes, LeBron is the star of the team, but despite his age, he plays more than 35 minutes in these matches. If there is no other player next to LeBron who can support him and contribute to his scoring, the championship is considered a dream. Anthony Davis looks far from his old form. Injuries set him back a lot. If he regains his old form, LeBron and Anthony will be enough for Los Angeles.

If you look at Davis' stats, you'll notice that he averages both scoring and rebounding this regular season as well as he did for the Pelicans earlier in his career. So, I don't think he's the reason why the Lakers have been so mediocre. The reason is clearly something else, and the Lakers need to figure it out as soon as possible since they have only won 3 games after winning the in-season tournament.

Obviously it's not Davis, but something deep that it's hard to understand because after winning the IST, they suddenly become a garbage team. Of course there is rumor of trade of some players, but still though, they should have the momentum after winning.

But they turn into a champion into a mediocre team in an instant. For me it should be Darvin Ham's responsibility, he is the coach after all and it seems that he is not doing his job currently. Make adjustments, but he can't find the right combination.

You shouldn't be surprise with the players now. They were just exactly the same team last season, they qualify the play-in and  reach the playoffs. In fact, they reach the WCF but fall to the Nuggets. That's how dangerous the Lakers are, they seemed to be more competitive in important games, just like what they did during the in season championship, if you guys still remember.

Maybe there are players that will be traded but Davis and Lebron will remain. They have made changes already in the past but Davis was still there, so it's most likely D Angelo Russell that will be traded, that's for sure.
547  Economy / Gambling / Re: sportscasino.io no kyc instant payments on: January 02, 2024, 11:03:55 AM
Hi, guys

sportscasino.io  requires no kyc, delivers instant payments. Amazing sportsbook and casino experience.

Please share your thoughts here.

So this isn't a regulated casino?

Because if a casino is regulated, they would not promise instant withdrawal in all transactions. You know, there's this KYC + AMLA thing, it's a requirement that once an account is suspicious, they'll be under investigated, and it's possible that withdrawals are getting delayed or worse freeze.

Only decentralized sportsbook ( if there's any) can promise this.
548  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Mayweather vs Pacquiao II on: January 01, 2024, 01:06:51 PM
This going to be an exhibition match? It is surprising because I thought Pacquiao wanted to go into politics since he was already done with his professional boxxing career. I doubt he is training anymore with that "professional career pressure" and since there is nothing at stake. It has been 7 years since Mayweather left the professional ring and 3 since Pacman left it. At this point, they are not really in any shape to give us an exciting fight. 9 years ago I would be excited for the fight. But the upcoming exhibition match is kind of ...Meh. Although I am still going to watch it, regardless. Roll Eyes

This is an exhibition match, both would not come back anymore in professional boxing as that's too risky for them, especially for Mayweather who wanted to keep his undefeated record as his legacy in boxing.

Although they had retired, I think they are still active in boxing, at least training on their own to keep them in shape.

In fact, these two boxers had fought different opponent already after retirement, most especially Mayweather who has been traveling and fighting for an easy money. For sure this one isn't easy for Mayweather, but both would make easy money.
549  Economy / Speculation / Re: Can anyone be a Bitcoin speculation expert? on: December 30, 2023, 09:18:42 PM
If you say if its possible to be always right on his predictions, I don't think it is. Even Satoshi cannot predetermine what the future of crypto will be. All we have right now remains to be purely predictions and speculations, until proven true when the exact prediction happens. However, if you ask if there are bitcoin speculation experts, yes a lot of them claimed that they are but they are never reliable in the long run.

Bitcoin is highly volatile and unpredictable, so its really hard to predict correctly what will be the future price of bitcoin, most especially that prices are easily affected by big news and events that hit the market.
550  Economy / Economics / Re: Crypto investment vs real estate investment : Which one more dependable? on: December 30, 2023, 07:29:48 PM
Crypto investment vs real estate investment : Which one more dependable in the future
Though have been in the crypto space for quite some time now, I knew little about crypto. A friend of mine just introduced me to real estate investment.
Which one should I go for with a capital less than $2500?
If you have a limited amount of capital, I suggest invest in crypto first and stick to bitcoin. But of course, invest in yourself first through increasing your knowledge and experience in the crypto market. Otherwise, bitcoin investment may end up a wrong choice if you don't also have adequate knowledge about bitcoin. Once you profits, you can start considering diversifying your bitcoin with real estate investment. Since it requires a bigger capital, then prepare yourself a huge amount of capital.

While both investments are considered reliable and profitable, hence you don't have to chose which one of them will you secure. Invest in both if you are already highly capable to do it and work on them and expect later on multi source of profits.
551  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Have You Accomplished What Brought You to Bitcoin? on: December 30, 2023, 03:23:06 PM
I should say big profits made me brought into bitcoin. Since I worked before an 8-hour day job and only paid a minimum wage, I have to find a side job that will offer me a bigger compensation than my regular job. That’s when the time I was being introduced to bitcoin with a friend of mine. At first I was still hesitant thinking a lot would say that bitcoin is a Ponzi scheme, so I feel like asking myself if I am really ready to take risk with bitcoin. And thankfully, I was able to succeed from my bitcoin investment and gradually earning money so I can achieve my goal.

I have succeeded leaving my day job and now, I’m earning better than before. But if ask I have become rich already, that thing I still don’t know when I’ll be able to achieve that but I believe with the opportunities from bitcoin, I know I can do it as long as there’s faith, courage and self-determination.
552  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: December 30, 2023, 12:45:35 PM
^ I agree, I think with that huge contract, Jaylen Brown will have to show something that he deserved it, and truly he is doing it this season posting great numbers, he average 20 ppg and Tatum 26 ppg, good for the top 25 scorer leader.
$304 million for 5 years, who would not play hard for that kind of reward?
Celtics has to get their investment on him, and it will only happen if Jaylen will continue to play his usual and stay healthy this season and off season, as if he gets injured, I doubt the Celtics will advance in the Finals. But since they have lots of roles players who are willing to contribute day in day out, the burden maybe not that hard compared to the previous season.

So that is huge when 2 of your best players are at least average 20 ppg.

Tatum averages 27PPG from 30PPG last season, while Brown averages 22PPG from 26PPG last season, numbers dropped because others helped them.
Not good on individual numbers, but as a team, it's a success.

Holiday, a great point guard and defender, who would forget his steal on Booker when he was with the Bucks to win it for the Milwaukee team. And KP, doing great as well all around with points and rebounds and block shots. And then their role player providing spark every game.

He can guard Booker but not Jimmy. I hope the Celtics are ready for the underrated Heat this season too.

Since there's no thread for this post, please allow me to post it here since he is our own.

Let's pray for Rhenz Abando who had a bad fall and injured badly, hopefully he will recover soon and his game will not be affected.
Check the full details here ;

Rhenz Abando suffers multiple spinal fractures, concussion in bad fall

I watch the highlights but I didn't finish because I can't take it, but as I read on the comments it was really bad because he was taken through emergency stretchers.
554  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: When betting on sports, which one to choose -110 or +110? on: December 30, 2023, 09:43:22 AM
This topic has arise because I'm wondering, what if we just bet +110 all the time and just get 50% win rate to be profitable.

Just think about this mate, if that is really a profitable strategy then why it's not even making a big sound as a famous doing in sports betting?

Simply, because "it's not working". Low odds doesn't guarantee an always profit.

When evaluating the success rate of your gambling venture, it does not based on the odds alone. -110 and +110, it's only 10% is the difference. Wagering on the winning picks is still the key. Most of the videos I saw, they don't talk much about the odds, but rather on how to pick a team with a reasonable odds.

Also in my own point of view, are you willing to bet a decent amount just to feel the profit at +110? It's more risky to me compare betting at underdogs which already expected that losing is more likely to happened but in return, a good profit.

I think we have a miscommunication here.

+110 is underdog, while -110 is for favorite dude.
555  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: New Trends Among Beginner Traders on: December 29, 2023, 09:58:37 PM
Beginner traders have different mindset these days. Instead of harnessing their potential knowledge and skills that will give them an edge in trading, they prefer to act more confident on the current position of their trading activity without thinking that if they fail to enhanced their trading abilities, they will never be successful in trading anymore.

The problem with beginner traders these days is they are mostly hesitant to positive changes and improvements. They feel that what they have is more than enough, that they can be sustainable enough in trading, but reality hits that if you lack the capabilities to trade, you will never be successful and profitable in your trades.

557  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Must you lose before you gain in Bitcoin investment? on: December 29, 2023, 08:35:11 PM
There's no investment that guarantees pure profits, as losing is already part in any type of investment. Even in physical investments, sometimes you still have to lose for you to gain big in the process. However, there are times too that you invest and you make early success, that's also possible. But believe me, that is not going to happen consistently as there will really come a time when you experience losses in the most unexpected times. For you not to get hurt so badly or fall into disappointment, know that winning and losing at some point are part of the investment process, and one can never skip from it.
558  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can I dodge KYC using the his medium. on: December 29, 2023, 02:18:26 PM
Is it possible one can dodge KYC verification request after winning a big amount of money and decides not to withdraw a lump sum but bit by bit in smaller amounts. I have read many posts talking about how they wanted to withdraw the money they won but due to the amount they wanted to withdraw was big, they were asked  pass kyc verification because they never did when they first registered.

Requesting for KYC is not because of your big win, it's because of the withdrawal you're making request for, if you like, be making small withdrawals and if you also like, make the withdrawal at once, what is certain is that when they requested KYC from you and you're unable to make provision of it, you won't have access to make withdrawals, don't even think of dodging them by making false or incomplete provisions on what has been requested, else they may block your account.

Maybe you haven't notice that there are some complaints in the scam accusation before that their winning weren't release beause after a big win, the gambling site requires them a KYC. So this discussion came out because of real situation in the past, and I think OP is just trying to get some information because his account probably is not KYC complied, so in the event he'll win, at least he already know what to do in order for the casino not to trigger in requiring a user for KYC.

For us KYC is just basic, but for some it could be a problem for whatever reasons, so at least we have some options here.
559  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: December 29, 2023, 12:41:04 PM
The "highlight" of the night was Detroit in Boston, almost getting the upset of the season after leading by 19 at halftime. But no surprise they fell apart in the 3rd and somehow got OT before falling for the 28th time in a row.

If they ended the streak in Boston, that would have been something and another funny story.
But lucky they didn't and the streak is alive.

Go on guys, keep making history.  Grin

Almost... but didn't happen. I had a feeling at the start of third quarter Pistons would lose this again. When Bogdanovic made the game go to overtime I thought maybe they have another chance but their overtime performance was terrible. It would've been an ironic win over Boston, which is unbeaten at home but the losing streak continues. They are not playing that badly but they still can't win. It has become a psychological thing. I think San Antonio is worse than them as a team, but even they have 5 wins.

That could have been the story fo the day if Detroit were able to beat the number 1 team in the East. They start strong, which is very rare to see since Boston are very dominant at home, but like other bad teams, they don't have the consistency and they would melt in the most important quarters.

I'm even surprise the game went to OT. Boston were good in defending the paint, but in that sequence, they allow an offensive rebound from Bogdan that brough the game to OT. But as soon as they were in OT, that's extra 5 minutes, so it's easy to tell who will win since Detroit already loss their energy.

Better luck next time for them!
560  Economy / Economics / Re: Would you rather start/grow a business from scratch or buy an existing business? on: December 28, 2023, 09:54:30 PM
I don't really have much to say as regards to this post. It is just an avenue to hear your thoughts on which is better to invest both time, energy and resources in, mostly for a season as this, where we are experiencing economic uncertainty and ill-timed government banking policies.

So, given that the resources are available or not and you are presented with the opportunity to start/grow or buy an existing business just like Elon Musk, which option is more preferential and benefitial to you?

While it's always an edge if you grow your own business out from a scratch, but if you have already the knowledge and skills to grow a business, then starting a new business or buying an old business does not matter at all. What's important is you know how to establish your brand and maintain competition with other nearby businesses. That's the only way where your business will boom and grow in time. Otherwise, if you rely on other people to grow your own business, you can never guarantee success from your own business.
