Yesterday I saw a terrible failure on eBTC
His name for being equal to Bitcoin had not gained much success in advertising.
EBTC appeared in the Premier League Game yesterday and many people thought it was the normal Bitcoin, a nice advertisement for Bitcoin.
You have to change that name.  Roll Eyes

Any promotion of Bitcoin is still good for eBTC, even if there is confusion.

Just need to make it "www.ebitcoin.org" in future, so users get to the eBTC website, not just "ebitcoin"

Consider any confusion that leads to more bitcoin users as a gratuity for the grand old big daddy of crypto

The coins need to be circulating NOT being hodled by the creator. It just is not a good look for a coin. Reminding me in a very uncomfortable way of Ripple. Sending out a couple of hundred bucks as incentive for KYC  ID is not an air drop. The coins will never be 98% distributed if this goes on. Consequence being that it will never be taken seriously as money.

The thing is the excuse of trying to get as many users as possible with meagre handouts is proven not to work. The best example being Iceland's Aurora coin. People have to be attracted to use it not bribed. It is not attractive seeing the Dev change plan and hodl his own premined coin.

Also it is flying under the radar but the witnesses are all but maybe two controlled by Tony.

I invested in this coin because the tech sounded amazing and the roadmap of airdrops was clear.

Shame to see the credibility draining away like this.

For those that call this greed. You need to rethink about the economics of supply and demand.

I agree, this has less to do with greed (although fear and greed are always factors in crypto) and everything to do with certainty.

Once the original moon airdrop distribution was completed there may well have been a big fall in price, and that price fall would have attracted new buyers looking for a bargain. The market takes care of adoption, if the tech is good, which it clearly is. Give the market certainty, and the tech potential in combination with the market does the rest for adoption.

I fear BB is losing future evangelists who will move onto other projects now, it's not like there is a shortage of crypto to get involved with. Distribute the remaining tokens quickly, that is the issue, not who gets them, that's my reading of the community backlash Tony is getting.

Whales inevitably start promoting tokens to increase their wealth, but that won't happen when there is uncertainty, they just leave the community, and Tony can't do this on his own.
543  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: WAVES | Ultimate crypto-tokens blockchain platform | SMART CONTRACTS COMING! on: February 26, 2018, 01:28:54 AM
The team didn't have to airdrop BCH, it was a nice gesture and also an incentive to use the new client, generate new addresses. An airdrop worth $350,000 is pretty generous.

And when Sasha says he will swap those old tokens, I'm sure he will. But I also think it is low priority at the moment.

The team is building great stuff, truly they are. But some loose ends... welll... I just can't fix it for you... I can only encourage to create a ticket at the support website and stalk their Twitter account Wink

All crypto projects are overwhelmed with work, the Coinomat investors have definitely been left behind, missing out on WCT airdrop, and now BCH. Sasha can rectify the situation, but some serious redress is needed to compensate people for having their money frozen for so long, and missing out on these WCT airdrops etc

Sasha made promises in 2016 that he clearly has not kept, this is a serious character issue IMO, but if proper compensation is paid to those effected aĺl well and good.

To those affected, keep raising the issue, otherwise you will be forgotten, support tickets are ignored, you must be loud and vocal in your protest, otherwise Sasha will be too busy for the next decade or two to ever tie up this 'loose end'
544  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] HUSH Secure Private Messaging and Transactions [Equihash] on: February 26, 2018, 01:18:07 AM

Coinomi supports all Bitcoin forks, but BTCH is not there.

BTCH is a merge fork of 3 separate assets into a Komodo ~250MB asset chain, it is cutting edge stuff, it will take a while for exchanges to work out how to list it, we need to be patient, exchanges are all overwhelmed now, they go for the low hanging fruit first i.e the easy forks

afaik the best way to access BTCH is via BarterDEX (that's how I got my bitcoin gold), from there you can send to exchanges when they're ready.

BTCH is clearly the most advanced fork to date, give it time.

To the annoying XMR shill who is obviously funded as no one would troll on daily basis for a few years - you are desperate

Is IB really a closet dash investor, where is the evidence?

We are working on ascertaining that at the moment.  But IB most certainly has funds invested in Masternodes....most of the shtick is part of a bigger strategy of market manipulation.  Taking a page right out of the 2016 Russian manipulation of the US elections disruption strategy book... IB and associates are using the same tactics... To devide and disrupt the community.

Ok, I'll be following this with interest, exposing IB as being nothing more than a hypocritical self interested Dash lover might be the single most shocking revelation this forum has seen since anonymint posted snaps of his testicles. Watching!

Pi Coin has really peaked my interest as of lately.  Seems to have a few similarities to APR coin.  Have you seen it?  Here's there discord link, they have been helpful in answering my questions.

Keep it up Pi Coin.

Ha ha, interest not peaked enough to do some basic research and realise Pi coin is dead, just enough to shill another shit coin.

"Keep it up Pi Coin"  ... awesome, keep on being dead rofl

Getting on binance needs real supporters not shills. I don't see any innovation in this project but a simple smart contract compiled upon ETh network and naming the token to eBTC.

There are real supporters here, and shills too.

Innovation in the crypto world of copy paste clones, and 1 hour erc20 tokens often comes down to how many people have a vested interest in seeing the coin do well, innovative features can always be added later.

I was hugely sceptical of eBTC, but I was wrong, eBTC airdrop achieved critical mass of enough people who want this token to succeed, binance is aiming high for sure, but if MK keeps doing well, why not!
549  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BYTEBALL: Totally new consensus algorithm + private untraceable payments on: February 24, 2018, 03:34:21 AM
are you serious?
he "cares about the community" and listens to it?
just because he picked a little thing out and said that he wasn't the one who censored it?
there are so many uncertaincies and open questions which he doesn't even touch in the slightest.
still nobody knows of what happens to the last 40%.
the new distribution methods are not a fitting answer for that.
there are so many good ideas and advices from the community about how to solve the unsolved issues but he gives a damn about it and just says that he didn't censor anything himself.
really? and that is enough for you and everything is good now?
sure the community is united again now because of that little response of him.

The community looks united in opposition to the continued uncertainty, we all know where this division between dev & community could go if we're not careful ...

I'm having a sleepless night thinking about "Byteball Cash", seriously I am ....

Any news on the reboot, how are new devs going, any ideas for promoting the re-launch?

A logo/crest contest would be cool Smiley
551  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BYTEBALL: Totally new consensus algorithm + private untraceable payments on: February 22, 2018, 11:51:16 PM
Remember unspent funds are one of the key assets Byteball has over the vast majority of other crypto projects. Further you are incorrect in saying the new distribution methods are failures. Most have only been tested on a small scale, and have successfully got new users which is the aim.

Look around you, unspent funds from changing plans only serve to create uncertainty, and turn previous supporters of the project into disgruntled ex-investors.

Tony has created a great project, but it's time to let it sink or swim. Crypto isn't a fringe hobby for tech nerds anymore, it's going mainstream, and the best evangelists now are rusted on early adopters with big bags of BB ready to fund other activities. The present 'crisis' means some of these BB evangelists are strapping on parachutes ready to jump, and that's a far bigger loss than any possible benefit of distributing smaller amounts to new users.

imo the best outcome from here is

- re-instate March drop
- continue moon drops but at a reduced rate
- use 10% of remaining undistributed BB for the newer distro methods
- set goal of completing 100% of distribution within 6 months

Above would allow Tony to delegate growing BB adoption more to community, letting him concentrate on dev work, which is obviously his strong suite, thus creating a much more decentralised project than we currently have, and complete certainty for people when considering to buy/sell BB.

We could have this resolved in 24 hours, and Tony would be free to concentrate on BB dev work, and nobody would bust his balls over community consultation & communication ever again!

553  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BYTEBALL: Totally new consensus algorithm + private untraceable payments on: February 22, 2018, 09:19:30 PM
i'm not bothered about the lack of airdrop but i am bothered by the lack of clarity. make plans and go through with them or don't mention them at all.

the 'new' distribution methods are failures. the previous one, especially the bitcoin holder part was pretty dumb too.

right now this project needs to have the developer's grip loosened and let it go out into the world and see what happens. that means distribution and rapidly.

Yes Yes Yes!!

Finish the distribution, and release the hounds!!
554  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BYTEBALL: Totally new consensus algorithm + private untraceable payments on: February 22, 2018, 06:27:21 PM

It's even worse for the following reasons:

1) Another change of plans! First there will probably airdrop, next it gets cancelled, now it goes to some people but not others.... What will be next? Uncertainty! It would be better to just stick to a "bad" plan... than not having any plan and just keep changing everything all the time for no apparent reason.

I agree, we need certainty!

Tony has shown he is vulnerable to "pester power", he cancelled the airdrop, than after some complaints reintroduced a drop to some people but not others. Does this give incentive to those who missed out to pester Tony more until he gives in to their demands for a drop also ... you bet it does!! We need to end this asap

Certainty is what we need

A Roadmap to complete distribution quickly

Who gets the 40% is up to Tony, but WE need to know asap
555  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] eBTC | The New (ERC20) Bitcoin on: February 20, 2018, 12:09:28 AM
ebtc in a nutshell: create a ethereum token in ten minutes, airdrop it, create a bs community cause free money yo, then convince and pay partners cause community yo. And then add those partners to ur team to make it legit. Then pay youtubers to promote it, cause partners yo and u got urself a scamcoin.

It's called the 'network effect', and anyway it happens is fine with me. Bitcoin started with beanie babies and drugs, and good ole fashioned speculation, who cares how it starts, or if some of the early adopters are here to make some money (aren't we all), the point is once the network of eBTC holders is large enough the history of how we got there is open to opinion, but the reality would be a fact- eBTC would be a legit crypto, just like Doge.

556  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BYTEBALL: Totally new consensus algorithm + private untraceable payments on: February 19, 2018, 06:48:06 AM
I fail to see the reason of some people's concern.

Funds are still distributed for free. Past has shown that target group of previous airdrops just dumps it. It's a natural choice to switch strategy.

The problem is most people don't like investing in coins with ~40% of supply undistributed, makes people nervous. The moon drops provided certainty, now there is uncertainty ... how long will the remaining coins take to distribute, will everything be transparent, will there be any surprises that make people dump etc

Tony is a smart guy, and has done extremely well so far, so I'm still hopeful, but I'd have preferred ending distribution asap.

Hello, will I receive double amount of BCH with my wallet like this: 3PCpphrgpLHWbCiKUu86PprShkAQ49WbroA ?
Or does it have to start with B and then C and then H ?

You're good!

xxxxxrtzdG4u1hTrmobu87NEFAC2B9HX

so i will get double also

still i dont like these action... and to think you guys gonna search all the adress to check if there is indeed right letters on it...pfffff...... good luck with ...

i know its free .. so if you wanna give .. .dont play just give.......

Careful, aren't the bch meant to be consecutive for double, like all three next to each other?

3PCpphrgpLHWb86CiKUuPprShkAQ49WbroA - not consecutive

3PCpphrgpLHWbChiKUu86PprSkAQ49WbroA - consecutive

558  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BYTEBALL: Totally new consensus algorithm + private untraceable payments on: February 19, 2018, 01:10:22 AM
IMO this is very bad news. None of these methods are "proven" as you say, and they are all far more opaque than distributing to addresses with balances that can be checked on the networks.

How many dollar-equivalents have been spent in the cashback program so far? What's there been like 50 people send their passport to Juobi or whatever now? Youtube crypto scam videos? Really?

There are still 40% of coins to distribute, and now they are basically completely able to be distributed by shady backroom deals or not at all. There is no way to validate distribution beyond this point. So long and thanks for all the fish.

I agree, with so many coins still to distribute, new and better schemes need to be added asap, and transparency is essential. I'm not saying Tony can't do this, just that old system worked fine, just needed to remove exchange addresses etc

Finishing distribution asap is more critical than driving adoption now, in a bull market good crypto get adopted, and since 2017 crypto adoption is moving forward. I really hope Tony appreciates the need to be transparent, and that's difficult when third parties are involved in some of these distro methods.

Old school crypto people will hear bullshit detectors going off now, fud elert, exit scam accusations etc  Did not have to be this way, could have just stuck with full moons for another 6 months, anyone is free to buy BB and get some free airdrop. Simple is better than complicated, and these other methods will take years, and be prone to abuse.
