5401  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2014-07-11] CCN: Jersey to Become the World’s First Bitcoin Isle on: July 11, 2014, 06:25:08 PM
Guess this is the perfect place for this to have happened considering much of the high net worth people in this country live in and around Jersey. Maybe we'll even get some of their Housewives mentioning it on their show. Cheesy

We're plugging along at a steady and positive rate yet no mention of when the VC phase will creep into the Wall Street phase which many have forecasted for this fall. They made note of the wide interest in articles on BTC pricing so perhaps they're keeping their powder dry.
5403  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2014-06-10] Bitcoin price 'to hit $2000' by end of the year on: July 11, 2014, 05:55:11 PM
Seriously doubt it will hit $2,000 by the end of this year but pretty sure it will by this time next year Smiley
It doesn't get much more bullish than that!!...IF you're talking about the YoY low at that point.

5405  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Even if you don't care about climate, help to promote Bitcoin here at MIT :) on: July 11, 2014, 05:42:05 PM
MIT is too overrated on just about everything. And global laming warming is a scam on epic proportion.

It's more like an industry that is being pushed by the extreme left who then profits by using government contracts and bailout money to foist green technology on people when the market hasn't called for it. Solyndra anyone? The bottom line is they had used the term global warming for decades up until recently and now use climate change so they can't lose if we have a colder than normal winter/cooler than average summer or vice versa. There's record sea ice peaks in Antarctica these days ya know. That said, I have a high regards for MIT and their undergrad mission of expanding Bitcoin into those students' lives.

This just makes me want to puke.  Sad Xapo is looking like a solid option more and more everyday for those that want to be their own cold storage.

Considering the similarities between gold and Bitcoin, many expect Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies to take some of the market share of gold and other precious metals due to its superiority in ease of transport and a more convenient means of transfer. This new rush of gold companies into Bitcoin seems to validate these views. Leading to more professional companies taking over less secure, less organized, and worse managed bitcoin companies that dominated the early years of Bitcoin, paving the way for institutional and retail investors, as well as enticing further the ordinary man, to invest in Bitcoin.
Most important and enlightening part of the article. Bring on the ETFs, the Gold Bugs, companies offering discounts for using Bitcoin and whatever else = market cap going^
5408  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [CLOSED] CoiningSolutions.com HashFast Shares ฿2.5 = 20GH/s [CLOSED] on: July 11, 2014, 05:18:11 PM
If all goes right I'm assuming we'll be getting back ~60% of the investment in USD and not in the original BTC denomination to which was given to HF? Or more realistically, we'll get a group cut % of whatever HF has left (be it money or equipment) and then that is either divvied up or put to work for us. Ideally, we'd just get our original coin investment back minus the attorney fees. Grin

Tweet @GovernorPerry "Maybe if you LEGALIZE WEED you could afford to secure your border"
I'm not trying to crap on your idea and I even support it but Obama and his minions were laughing at Perry in the meeting they had yesterday so I'm not sure the Feds would allow TX to do anything unless Perry stepped up w/ some balls and called out his state's national guard. It was merely a show meeting and there is no intent on securing the border from the left's point of view.
5410  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2014-7-10] Bloomberg-Bitcoin by Bitcoin-Winklevoss ETF inches closer to reality on: July 10, 2014, 10:39:53 PM
This is the benefit of having people with connections pushing there way through supporting a project, Looks like BTC might actually be added there. I guess this is the kind of news that pushes the price up.
My guess is that lawyer firm we heard about recently has plenty of pull w/ the higher ups on Wall street and the SEC. This ETF, or one of the many being proffered, will inevitably do magic for the pricing side and it seems like it's being timed to pop off to much fanfare. Imagine when those of the interested parties in the bigger money category get on board and then the price starts doing its thing, it'll be interesting to see how the masses deal w/ it.
5411  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2014-06-10] Bitcoin price 'to hit $2000' by end of the year on: July 10, 2014, 10:35:18 PM
If you think of the current adoption rate and where that would land on the S curve then there's plenty of room for pricing to expand. The USD is living on borrowed time so even when you have a BTC that is X thousand of dollars, it could literally buy you what it does today. However, if and when the USD experiences that kind of hyper inflation the sky is the limit for USD pricing. I'd imagine there will eventually be a North American currency at some point and that will be driven into the ground to force global fiat on the scene. This could be happening in the next 5 to 20 years unless the likes of Rand Paul gets elected President and the debt is radically reduced and we have an austerity period w/ economic growth that can bail us out. Either way, I expect BTC to do what is what made for and that is allowing someone to have as much control over their own finances as they're willing to have. The more people that want more of this control will mean a stronger mankind.

The Illuminati wants to enslave us by forcing Bitcoin down our throats and I, for one, will not stand for it! Tongue
5413  Other / Politics & Society / Re: What good things has Obama had since he is elected ? on: July 10, 2014, 10:16:11 PM
It hasn't really sunk in yet or hit home to the black folks I encounter on a regular basis up here in the Great Lakes region. Of course, my normal encounters are through a major hospital where the employees mostly have it pretty good, unlike those in the inner city or its offshoots. Forget competing for low wage jobs but consider thinking about one's welfare benefits or related entitlements and how the writing is on the wall for how your future will look as more people are on the take. Around 38% of Americans are on some sort of welfare, disability or similar program and the numbers are only going up. I wonder how outsiders think about good ole America going down the tubes..

Can you imagine living in such an area where this bombardment is a regular thing? Not just living but growing up where this is considered normal just be a complete nightmare for the non-combatants that call these places home.
5415  Economy / Securities / Re: CoinReturn - Discussion of Current Issues and Possible Future Actions on: July 10, 2014, 07:09:17 PM
Definitely looks like this one can be put to bed, finally. On the bright side, guess it's better for us early adopters and true believers to take the brunt of these scams and get most of them flushed out before mainstreet arrives and gets turned off.
5416  Bitcoin / Press / Re: 2014 07 09 XAPO READY TO SHIP BITCOIN DEBIT CARDS Pymnts on: July 10, 2014, 07:00:42 PM
Yeah, this will be the way to go for most newcomers that will eventually start using Bitcoin for purchases especially as merchants begin to offer discounts for doing so. Most people don't want to be their own bank or deal w/ the personal online/offline security issues when there's services available to do it for you. Also, the vault ain't in the US.

Israel PM Says Gaza Offensive to Intensify as Rockets Fly
Quote
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu hinted at a possible ground incursion into the Hamas-controlled Gaza Strip as the Palestinian death toll mounted past 40 from intensified air strikes.

Rocket fire from Gaza that sparked the military operation neared Dimona, the southern desert town where Israel’s suspected nuclear weapons facility is located. The army said one rocket was intercepted and two landed on Dimona’s outskirts. Hamas claimed responsibility.

As rocket fire surged, Netanyahu said his military would respond even more forcefully. “We have decided to intensify even further our attacks on Hamas and other terror organizations in Gaza,” he said in a text message today. “The military is prepared for all options.”

5418  Other / Politics & Society / Death Toll Climbs As Israel Bombards Gaza on: July 10, 2014, 06:18:38 PM

The death toll in a three-day Israeli offensive in Gaza has climbed to at least 84, including a number of children, as officials continue to talk of a lengthy campaign and a possible ground invasion.

An Israeli air strike killed seven Palestinian civilians on Thursday, including five children, in the largest death toll from a single attack since the start of the three-day offensive, the health ministry said.

Residents and medical officials said an Israeli air strike bombed at least two houses in a densely populated area near Khan Younis while residents were asleep, according to a Reuters news agency report.

Bodies were pulled out of rubble from at least three homes and neighbouring structures. The bombing brings the number of children killed this week to at least 18.

5419  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Latest US Jobs Report a Fraud on: July 10, 2014, 05:44:18 PM
The biggest illusion in these job numbers is that they're actually meaningful and upwardly mobile positions. Most of these jobs are minimum wage plus they're low skilled and offer no beneficial future moves to them outside of one proving they can show up to work everyday. So, college grads are taking these positions and there's almost no chance they can pay their monthly student loan bills especially if they don't live at their parent's house. Even former middles class workers who've been laid off for a certain amount of time are taking these low wage positions and it must be devastating to their lifestyles since there's very little room to save to enhance what's left of their retirement savings.
5420  Other / Politics & Society / Mexico Made Deal To Ease Transit For Illegal Exodus on: July 10, 2014, 05:14:35 PM
Quote
The Southern Border Program to Improve Passage, will provide for more border checkpoints along Mexico's border with Guatemala, and offer more protection and even emergency medical care to those making their way north. The illegal aliens will receive a so-called Regional Visitor's Card, according to El Universal.

Officially, the program will grant the cards to only illegal aliens from Guatemala and Belize, allowing them to remain in Mexico's southern states for 72 hours (more than enough time to reach the U.S./Mexican border by train). While, those two countries share a border with Mexico, the program will undoubtedly benefit anyone who makes it to the border, which would explain why our Border Patrol stations are currently overflowing with illegal aliens from El Salvador and Honduras as well.

The program will also give special protection and even financial assistance to unaccompanied minors now pouring across our border. Of course, these efforts, chiefly by the Mexican government, will only increase the number of illegal aliens coming to this country by the thousands, now on a daily basis.

The official announcement only confirms what many of us have known all along...the current chaos on the border which the Obama administration has sympathetically (and dishonestly) characterized as a "humanitarian crisis," only exists due to collusion between the governments of Mexico, Guatemala and likely the United States.

As soon as one of the anchor babies can step foot in the country then the rest of the family can follow suit. Yet, in situations where they kids are being smuggled up here alone, there's no telling how many of them have been sexually abused along the way or what condition their health is in especially when we have Congressman that can't enter these camps and let the people know. Not to mention the on site staff can't say anything. Shrouded in secrecy, it looks nothing less than scandalous from top to bottom. This is likely the last leg in Obama's 'formal transformation' of America and he and his gang is doing it at break-neck speed.
