5401  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling Site's Investing (Is it worth it?) on: February 07, 2020, 08:49:37 AM
Bankroll investment IS a long term investment like more than 2-3 years is ideal.

I have tried the crypto-games bitcoin investment for 1year turning my 0.1 BTC to 0.15 BTC approximately leaving out the small withdrawal fee. This was back in 2016 when bitcoin price will still below 1k USD. So if you have some excess coins laying around in wallet and want to take the risk and allow them to grow a bit while you take a time out from trading on them then it is a good option to go for.

Possible risks are (in general):
1. Site goes out of business one fine day.
2. Site turns scam. Again this is a general risk. Crypto games is a very trusted site, but I am speaking in general.
3. Site bankroll robbery/hack
4. The coin you invested is not immediately divestable without a early withdrawal penalty fee.

Does a high roller matter to the investors? Essentially No. Because the long term simulation of any EV- game is profit for the casino/investors and loss for the players. Since you are in it for the long term, you are essentially covered from long term losses. On short term you may see some losses in balance sheet, but keep patience and you will see figures go up.
5402  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: to be able to get a large profit in today's trading is very difficult! on: February 07, 2020, 08:42:57 AM
It's wrong using altcoins to trade, they aren't that too great and reliable it's better to use bitcoin and one stable coin like TUSD or USDC as trading pair but alas there will be mistakes in predictions because no one can guarantee the movement of bitcoin
You are comparing it wrongly. There is bitcoin/USD trading and there is altcoin/bitcoin as well as altcoin/fiat (like USD) trading. Which one is good over other? Nobody can say. It is a personal preference.

Mistakes in prediction is not wrong, but natural. Although we always scorn people when they predict wrongly, it was always a prediction and not a fact. I do not understand the rationality behind blaming someone for their prediction. That is why such sites nowadays all have disclaimers to tell people to do their own research. Now if the prediction comes right then nobody praises the predictor but only look for their own gains. Such selfishness is seen with humans.

It is difficult to trade is such ways and so listening to someone's predictions like I said, is not the way to go. You have to do your own research and invest accordingly.
5403  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Using Crypto at Gas Stations on: February 07, 2020, 08:13:13 AM
Using mobile phomes near gas stations is not allowed, but i don't think it will cause a fire and a huge explosion in the gas stations because scientists and other shows in the televisions already proved that it is not dangerous to use mobile phones near a gas stations.
I see, lets hope that is true for now. Would need to do some more research on this though to ease the mind. Would be good if you could post some articles regarding this too. Smiley

Quote
Anyways, using crypto or digital currency as a payment method in gas stations would really be convenient for us because we don't need to wait for our change when making a payment. Long lines at the gas stations might decrease with the help of fast transaction of cryptocurrency.
Well think about the public who are using a gas station. We have the influential ones and we have the low income drivers of taxis so it is similar in terms of users for any other common commodity like grocery. What is mean is that every new entrepreneurship needs to evaluate the population that is going to use the service. Are they tech-savvy? If yes then the use could be big. If no, then there will be problems in marketing the service with proper income.
5404  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Be careful of the fake airdrops/giveaways on facebook on: February 07, 2020, 08:08:01 AM
Thing is that this is not something new to either crypto or social media. Such scams have been happening in real life too where some tout tells you that they know a way to make millions of dollars, essentially blunting the victim's logical modality and then telling that for doing so they need to purchase a course that costs 100$. Now the victim thinks that whats a hundred dollars compared to millions of dollars? He is wrong because his is not thinking logically which the scammer wanted.

Point is that such scams will remain and scammers will be always be there. Our "Scam Accusations" and  "Service Discussion" and even the Beginners board is full of such scam attempts. But what is needed from people is a reduction in this greed that turns them to fools.
5405  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Full Member and lock for Bounty campaign. on: February 06, 2020, 09:22:23 AM
Many bounties support full member accounts unlike Jr member and member accounts that can be left out of signature campaigns sometimes, no one is going to pick bounties for you, that decision is yours to make, head to bounties section in altcoin section and pick base on research
I would not suggest them for bounties you know. We all have seen how horribly wrong a bounty campaign can go due to the ill-minded team members who think the hunters are just a bunch of job-hungry outsource-able labor workers and refuse to pay them properly or force them to undergo KYC. It is better to go for the bitcoin paying campaigns.

For the OP, I hope they read some of the posts in this thread. Some of them have made a couple of good posts that should be able to guide them properly.
5406  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Using Crypto at Gas Stations on: February 06, 2020, 09:18:59 AM
Debit and Credit Cards are being used even on a Third-World Country on a gasoline station.
Gasoline or gas? Cheesy
Using mobile frequencies near gas stations is hazardous as far as I know? Not sure if there has been some technological advances in this section to prevent accidents related to explosion but till then I would be cautious. Jammers are useful as far as I might be right.

Quote
They also use fleet cards and I think it is not difficult to implement digital currency to their system since they are already online. If there's a will, there is a way. And I think we can really do that.
Surely it is not merchant implementation of bitcoin. Now consider the preference of cards over cash. It has taken more than a decade to move that preference to cards. If someone is going to start bitcoin usage here it will also take a lot of time to take in for the public.
5407  Economy / Gambling / Re: Primedice.com | Creators of Dicing 🎲 | 40 Billion Bets | 112+ BTC Jackpot! on: February 06, 2020, 09:15:04 AM
Taking into account how BTC is trending right now, the amount these guys wagered with yesterday was insane but at least they got lucky and did not lose. Though still I'm not sure I can be this generous with my one-at-a-time bets...I suppose this won't be problem had I not had to worry about how much I lose
Truely there are whales who are willing to deposit and lose a big amount of bitcoin even when it is going up. Like for those who have coins in store and want to play now that they have time they would not even bother looking at the price of bitcoin but making more so they can sell at a good profit in bigger volume and probably make up a past loss.

Now these may be specific cases but for the occasional gambler seeing bitcoin price rise should raise a conservative approach concept. They would want to hold on to their btc to trade than gamble.
5408  Other / Meta / Re: Why not an NFT section ? on: February 05, 2020, 10:26:16 AM
NFT and cryptocollectible are gaining lot of traction recently, however the forum isn’t really well adapted to them.
I believe it would be nice to have a dedicated section, lot of project are only on Discord, and i believe the NFT could bring some fresh air to the forum.
Altcoin Discussion board is there. This is a bitcoin forum after all. Altcoin projects should be humble that these (shit)coins are even allowed to be discussed about here. Still if you want to talk about them there is this section.

For buying/selling you can use the Marketplace (Altcoins) section and for discussing the services of traders use Service Discussion (Altcoins).

Again NFT is a token so the Tokens subboard may also a place to post. Note that getting a decent value reply there should not be your expectation.
5409  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: (Bustabit) How often do long streaks of red come? on: February 05, 2020, 08:32:19 AM
You mean for the game to continuously crash at zero? That's not very common, but don't be caught up in gambler's fallacy also. Each run has it's own chances of going red, it's not affected by previous runs in a magical cosmos of chance. Not everything is related.
I tried to explain this to the OP in my previous post, but seems like they dont wish to acknowledge the posts nor do they want to discuss the same.

o_e_l_e_o (<took me some time to type that username without copying Cheesy) has also shown some important pointers about this topic and I wished the OP would actually come back to reply to some of these posts.

He has opened another thread here - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5223146.msg53771714#msg53771714

I guess the OP is desperate to make some profit from these games.
5410  Economy / Economics / Re: agriculture and bitcoin on: February 05, 2020, 08:27:19 AM
Please teach me how could I use a crypto for developing agriculture in my country?
You have first see if bitcoin or crypto is legal acceptable in your country because you would not want to run into legal problems later on. Once that is cleared now look into your available infrastructure.

If you need machines and tools maybe you can use buy them with bitcoin? If the manpower is affordable to be bought with bitcoin then you can use that. After that you might wish to allow private investors to buy shares fo your company on the stock market or the token market of crypto. The second one is where mostly people think about crypto startups. However considering the bear market at this time of the year and since the last 2years, IPO funding would be a better option.
5411  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Looking For Good Arbitrage Trading Program on: February 05, 2020, 08:00:16 AM
HI does anybody know of a good Arbitrage Trading Program trading BTC or USD?
The people who posted above have posted about a bot called GunBot. You can use that, because it is open source and the developer is active on social media channels and their forum. Quick support system and a growing community to help you when you need.

Quote
also is arbitrage profitable?
Depends on your opinion. Some people try out exchanges and use the minor differences in prices to buy on one exchange and sell on another taking advantage of the difference. That is one method to profit which the bot makes it easier since it observes several exchanges and runs the algorithm itself. You just have to put in your bitcoins there.

It does not mean you are guaranteed a profit. There may not be a positive difference every time. So use them at your own risk.
5412  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Altcoin Bounty project Day by day incresase? on: February 05, 2020, 07:51:44 AM
Let them come, let them keep showing up, your own part is to do research on them before promoting them, 90% of new projects are from scammers in disguise so be extremely careful but this year seem little low on bounties which is a good thing
More like 100% of them. It never beats to over estimate the number of projects that end up scam. Some project may seem legit today but will become scam tomorrow. In the end almost all altcoins are pump and dump schemes once the devs decide to abandon the project leaving the investors hanging and their money gone to buy tourist resorts for the devs.

I don't feel the increase my friend, it maybe have increase but are those bounty giving the participants a chance to make a good reward, if not, its still useless. Actually there's always a good timing for bounty, I can say based on my experience and that's when the market is bullish.
Of course the OP is biased in their vision. Scams increasing seems like a normal process, no doubt. That what all these projects are. Even when there is bullish trend they will raise good amount of money but if they are shady they will show their real colors one day.
5413  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Crypto gambling websites need to add self-control functionality! on: February 04, 2020, 09:03:28 AM
The gambling site runs because of your emotions. Now question is can you control it? Answer is yes but it is tough to keep a control over emotions specially when in involved losing money and the method to seemingly make that money back is right in front of you. There is this vicious cycle and you need to break away from it.

Gambleaware is a good resource for addicted gamblers but I assure you that the biggest person who can help is you yourself. You have to take the control back and this is possible even if it is difficult.

I hope the support team of the site blocks your account but again it will take a simple circumvention method to go back. So here again self-control is more important.
5414  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: New Body Of Control? on: February 04, 2020, 08:56:43 AM
First and foremost, blockchain technology will be the new system that will be running the financial ecosystem.
What is the backing behind this claim? There is no such thing happening thoroughly in the system. Maybe development is occurring in the IT firms but how much is still unknown. But claiming so without any backing is a wrong thing to do.

Quote
And moreover, the decentralized nature of blockchain technology do not really need a body or institution to be in charge of how transactions are made.
It depends whether they want to have a control or not.

Quote
Everyone will be in charge of the financial activities in the financial ecosystem if bitcoin and blockchain technology take over the financial space.
Very easy to say once again but without any proof to back your claim. While it would be bullish on the market and a good way to proceed but this is only speculation for now. Do provide some unbiased sources on how you are coming to this conclusion.

They do not know the transaction it will be very difficult to trace it.
It is not really that difficult as we think it is. Bitcoin is pseudo-anonymous - using a good blockchain forensic service this can be traced back to a very likely wallet. Then KYC the wallet user for an exchange and you have their data.

Quote
People will even escape from paying tax.
They would not escape taxation again like what I said above. If bitcoin would become global the banking system is way more cunning enough to be the first proponents of who are going to take the power away from the users decisively before they even notice it by putting in hardcore KYC systems on every exchange.
5415  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: When trading, never ignore the statoshi value of your coins on: February 04, 2020, 08:53:18 AM
I actually can relate to what you were saying, in fact I just traded a fraction of my altcoin because I needed the money and minded only the value in dollars. I forgot that the main reason I traded before was to get more value in bitcoin than in US dollars, but that’s another lessoned I learned today.
This is a bit relative because if you are looking in for the USD value then you should consider the UDST value and not the bitcoin - that is being in the market only for the hard cash profit and nothing more. If you are looking to stay in the market juggling altcoins and bitcoin without seeking more USD value but increased bitcoin amount then do dollar cost averaging to check your trades.

The amount of satoshis that you own is important but it is also important to know what you are trading with. Being too stubborn or too suspicious will both be bad for you.
5416  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Altcoin Bounty project Day by day incresase? on: February 04, 2020, 08:46:04 AM
From the current point of view, there are still very few cryptocurrency projects. If the market conditions improve and investor activity increases, there will be a lot of projects.
Just stop padding your post count by making generic posts. Why dont you all discuss the topic in hand and use some of your brain to answer?

There are a lot of cryptocurrency projects that are going lower that their ICO pricing. Thing is that there are a number of investor bases of these coins. They have been fooled by promises and their money taken away. This should be a lesson not only for investors but also bounty hunters. They are wasting time if they go for altcoin bounties. Rather they should forget about those golden bounty days and focus on bitcoin buying/selling, developing their skills.
5417  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling: process vs outcome on: February 03, 2020, 08:21:22 AM
I don't understand why people even like lotteries.
Difference in personal taste.

Quote
You don't do much, most likely lose and have to wait for the outcome for a long time.
Same with sports betting. Quick answers come for EV- games like dice and slots.

Quote
Perhaps, people are interested in the possibility of winning, but that would mean they are not really into gambling as the process.
Lottery is a game of chance. You are relying on luck mostly unless you buy a huge share of the tickets.
Quote
So what is it for you, do you play only for the sake of winning or do you care about the process of playing/researching/anticipating the outcome? I think that the process is that is attractive in gambling, and while the outcome surely matters, I would not like to wait for a long while to learn it.
See lotteries have a large following mostly because they are accessible to the low income people easily from street vendors for tickets and the draws are also uploaded regularly for daily draws. They are well known and a easy way to try your luck. So this makes them popular. Lotteries on online casinos mostly came because people asked for them continuously. They were not the primary attraction.
5418  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Uber or Airbnb running on bitcoin on: February 03, 2020, 08:17:10 AM
uber on btcs would become for regular users even more suspicious as they have no idea how it all operates
The idea that new things only incite fear is a wrong approach. With that approach one can never improve.

If they are to profit from using bitcoin as a mode of payment then they would take an initiative to make people more knowledgeable to the public and incentivize its use among their service. Although this is logshot but it is a bullish move for the market even if some mainstream companies like FB, Paypal would talk against it.

But the bigger problem is that would a company like Uber, Airbnb want to face the backlash they would get from such mainstream companies? It may drive them bankrupt and at loss of partnerships.
5419  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: how to identify the real Coins/tokens or scame? on: February 03, 2020, 08:12:59 AM
-snip-
There are some scum projects which send out airdropped tokens to ethereum/specific token holders. They dump the everywhere in order to make the owner of the curious as to what the project is. Its a method of their shady marketing if you ask me.

So if you get something like that just forget about it and dont touch them. They are shitcoins and only there to make you a fool in most cases. A legit project hoping to raise money would go for a proper fundraising like IEO or Private sale not something like airdrop.
5420  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: HOW TO LINKED MERCATOX TO METAMASK on: February 03, 2020, 08:09:11 AM
Are you sure you are on the correct Mercatox site? You may have used a phishing site but then again metamask would have detected a phishing site as soon as you would open it.

I think your best option is to talk to the support system which you already mentioned. If the deposit address has been changed then you are supposed to double check before depositing. Still most of the time the site can clear this problem but they are not obliged to do so. Be careful with the address where you are sending from now on.
