5401  Bitcoin / Press / [2021-06-12] Bitcoin Taproot upgrade finally locked-in, activation set for Novem on: June 13, 2021, 12:44:31 AM
Bitcoin Taproot upgrade finally locked-in, activation set for November

The Taproot upgrade has achieved the first significant milestone on the road to activation as 90% of the Bitcoin (BTC) mining hash rate signaled for the protocol improvement within the current difficulty epoch.

Data from Taproot.watch, a webpage created by Bitcoin developer Hampus Sjöberg, shows the lock-in stage is now completed.

All recognized mining pools signaled for the upgrade with Slush Pool being the first to do so. It is perhaps fitting that Slush Pool also mined block 687285 that sealed the Taproot lock-in.

AntPool and F2Pool — the top two Bitcoin mining pools by hash rate share — were also among one of the earliest supporters of the Taproot activation in the BTC mining arena

5402  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Could ether hit 100k? on: June 12, 2021, 06:10:43 PM
Is it possible for ethereum to be worth 11 trillion in the future?
Possible, that's a yes but hitting $100k definitely not any time soon.

BTW that's a lot of liquidity flowing into the crypto market for us to see eth  at @100k and if you ask me are we ready for this, absolutely not!

We need to understand the crypto markets more, overcome FUD and be more security conscious when it comes to crypto, to prevent been hacked and all that. Once we have these controls in place price will go to the moon.

He's awake. Phew.. thank god. And indeed, great job to the medical team(s).

For a second I thought he had crossed to the other side ,because his teammates and fans in the stadium we all kind of in tears & disbelief and thought the worst had happened..because we have seen players collapse and pass on, thank good his alright!

Hope the lad takes some time off football gets the medical attention he needs.
5404  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Buying old coins: Is it worth it? on: June 12, 2021, 02:32:27 PM
If the coins on your radar have lasted this long and are still been traded, then I would buy some of these old coins  but coins with no value and still trying to get listed on an exchange, stay away from such at all cost, these have got the stamp of approval of being a shit coin.

5405  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why the martingale system sucks! (doubling down on losses) on: June 12, 2021, 01:54:10 PM
IMO the martingale strategy sacks because it's not for players on a budget and it never works and if the casino  has set a limit on total amount that can be wagered in a single round , this strategy isn't any good.

You have a better chance to win in sports betting than dice and other similar games like slot, the house edge has a factor on these games compare to sports betting where you have a good chance to win by analyzing the game,
If you apply this on sports betting you are likely to chase your losses,  because if you are to win consistently then it has to be the smaller odds and secondly these don't always win  Tongue.
Everything pretty much points at having luck on your side and not strategies.
5406  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: June 12, 2021, 12:19:05 AM
City has no choice but to try and get Messi then and let him play the false 9 role?
Harry Kane is going to Manchester City and that would be the best transfer ever this season it only a matter of time till they finalise the deal maybe after the EUROs, he would be the perfect replacement for Aguero. Dortmund is a selling club if the right bid comes in from manutd and Chelsea then Haaland and Sancho would make a move
As compared to Aguero and Jesus, definitely Harry Kane is a better fit and a natural born scorer.

But I think that fast paced football city has wouldn't suit Kane because his a slow player but still effective and gifted in front of goal.

Coming to think of it with the current crop of strikers we have around the world, I think he actually is among the top but has city registered their interest??
5407  Bitcoin / Press / [2021-06-11] New bank rules restrain and recognise crypto on: June 12, 2021, 12:01:52 AM
It is a rare event that unites bitcoin believers and crypto critics. But both largely welcomed the news from the global rulemaker for big banks that it plans to apply the most punitive capital rules to lenders that hold crypto assets. It is plainly right to do so. Its action must be matched by co-ordinated policy around the world to make safer an asset whose popularity seems destined to keep growing, despite the risks that crypto finances organised crime and terrorism. Crypto’s volatility imperils increasing numbers of retail investors, not to mention posing credit risks for lenders.

The value of bitcoin, which accounts for roughly half the $2tn crypto market, rose by as much as $2,000 on Thursday’s announcement by the Basel Committee on Banking Supervision, fuelled by the notion that regulation, rather than an outright ban, was official recognition of an asset class that has now come of age. Either way, a $5,000 rise since Tuesday, spurred also by El Salvador becoming the first country to adopt bitcoin as legal tender, highlighted the committee’s point about volatility. Bitcoin has ricocheted from under $30,000 to over $60,000 this year, before crashing back to about $37,000.

Rather than regulating crypto assets themselves — which is not in the Basel Committee’s gift — the banking supervisors sought instead to tighten rules for regulated lenders increasingly dipping their toes into crypto’s murky waters. For now, that means offering research or facilitating client trading rather than banks’ own proprietary trading of crypto

5408  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Betting to Risk Free Fights on: June 11, 2021, 05:50:37 PM
The tape tells a whole different story,  height, weight you name it but when it comes to boxing they say age gives you an edge so does height and then we have odds that have being weighed in by the bookies who are usually wrong as well,so that 1.5 is small for me to risk my money on the match.

Just some advice avoid wagering on favorites these usually turn to be headaches as the underdog always puts up a good fight.
5409  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2020/2021 on: June 11, 2021, 04:07:25 PM
I don't think Dortmund will sell Haaland. Chelsea desperately do need a striker but Dortmund has already stated that they won't be selling Haaland at all. He is indispensable member of the squad and he was the main goal scorer for them. Even there reports that Chelsea Abrahomovic is willing to give 154 m Euro but Dortmund aren't even budging from not to sell Haaland. Guess all they can do is to wait only.
Like they say, everyone has a price, and should Chelsea show so much interest in Halaad and one or more teams join this race...that 154 million  might go up to 200 million and am hoping it does not get to this because the football market will be dented and this might result in no sales in the future as all good players will be sold at this bench mark and spill over to only the big money spenders getting all good players.

For now BVB  not budging which shows they still need this talented lad!
5410  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin has intrinsic value like Gold but better? on: June 11, 2021, 03:48:32 PM
The thing that makes gold relevant even in this day and age is its considered a precious metal which has shown and held a stable value of several decades and still going strong...that's reputation and experience the banks treasure and want this going.

And honestly I think people who are more attached to gold are likely not to move to bitcoin has this might make it obsolete with time, which is why governments around the world try to slow down the adoption process
5411  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽UEFA EURO 2020 Discussion Thread | Current Phase: Finals in June 2021! on: June 10, 2021, 10:21:28 PM
Happy Euro 2021 to everybody, the game is on.

That's right, let's go to the first game:

What are your bets for Italia vs Turkey?

I believe Italy wins, but it won't be an easy game.
The 13th player always made a difference but knowing that most of these players played their league football without fans for most of the season....having fans around could feel odd but hoping they make the difference and motivate them too 👍

Am going for Turkey with a surprise win here ,Italy is not the same team we knew.
5412  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: June 10, 2021, 05:27:01 PM
According to several rumors from Spain, Depay is not so close to Barca.

Juventus has stepped in the player too with a higher salary, the race is on according to Mundo Deportivo.
For a player like Depay, I think he needs a team like Tottenham were he can be used as the lone striker unlike Barca were he is going to be made to fight for the ball and feed Messi which isn't like him.

Wijnaldum joined PSG for 9.5m/€ (19m€ yearòly with taxes).

(soon Donnarumma too)

Football for the people.

This got me thinking,  if Liverpool keeps dismantling its main team will they be able to compete this coming season and have they got replacements for these players they keep selling.
5413  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Question about bitcoin taxes and signature campaign payment on this forum on: June 10, 2021, 01:44:17 PM
If bitcoin is banned in your country then there is no tax to worry about!
But should things change and they legalize it like you anticipate then am sure they will communicate who is exempt and what amount will be taxable and under what conditions, don't worry mate keep growing your crypto bag 😉. But certainly this is likely to fall under income tax so apply  that rate & multiply it by the income to get what's due to the government.
5414  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Be a Responsible Gambler on: June 10, 2021, 05:21:10 AM
The unfortunate thing about Gambling ,is it becomes a bad habit when you lose money or find your self chasing your loses  but for others(the minority of gamblers) that have won huge amounts of money from pennies would say gambling is the answer to having fun while making money.

As much as we all want to be responsible its all about luck at the end of it.
5415  Economy / Exchanges / Searches for crypto exchanges currently blocked in China on: June 09, 2021, 09:29:09 PM
Chinese users are currently unable to search for popular crypto exchanges on the country’s internet services amid reports of possible censorship.

Keywords searches for online trading platforms including Binance, OKEx and Huobi on popular internet services such as Baidu, Sogo, Zhihu, or Weibo are yielding no results. Other media outlets including CoinDesk first reported the possible blockage.

The Chinese government has recently renewed a regulatory crackdown on crypto mining and trading, helping send Bitcoin down about 45% since its peak in April.

The exchanges that appear to be impacted are some of the largest in the digital-asset world, with Asia-based users being among the earliest adopters. Binance is the world’s biggest crypto platform, with $30 billion in trading volume in the last 24 hours, according to CoinMarketCap.com, a site owned by Binance.

Why does Eastern government always want to have everything under their control?? The sooner they come to terms with bitcoin being an assets that was never meant to be under the control of one entity the better for everyone.

Fonseca will be the new coach of the spurs according to @SkySport.

Basically, AS Roma and Spurs swapped their coaches.
Here I was thinking only players get swapped, but no guess what team coaches now get swapped too.

Hope they get a different result this time around because it shouldn't have come to this had they not agreed to sign-up for the ESL when Jose was still theirs. Good luck Spurs.
5417  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is it right time to Buy Alt coins now? on: June 09, 2021, 08:22:29 PM
If you look back at how bitcoin has performed over the years, you will notice that every year that went by was a good time to buy bitcoin and 10 years down the road its clear that there is no wrong time as you can tell from the high price...so if we can apply this to altcoins, clearly there isn't a wrong or right time!

If you have the funds to spare ,then secure you bag and buy your coins then hodl...see where they take  you.
5418  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: The views of developed countries with developing countries on bitcoin on: June 09, 2021, 08:16:14 PM
Developed countries, developing countries come on this is one of the reasons we have bitcoin in the first place....to level the playing field!

Believe it or not I actually think developing countries are more likely to adopt bitcoin much more easily because of the benefits it offers to them such as lower rates to send funds to others as compared to traditional services like western union, money gram the list goes on.

On the other hand Developed countries have so much red tape certain technologies have to go through some kind of legislation before it could be adopted which denies most people the benefits crypto presents to all without being bias.
5419  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I Don't Want To Hear Anybody Crying When BTC Will Reach 1M Per Coin! on: June 09, 2021, 06:54:07 PM
You had your chance to buy at $1.
You had your chance to buy at $10.
You had your chance to buy at $100.
You had your chance to buy at $1,000.
You had your chance to buy at $10,000

You still have the chance to buy NOW.

If you've failed all these times you deserve staying poor. No offence, but I think you had all the chances in the world. We can't make you rich by force.
Thanks for pointing out all the missed opportunities to buy btc but do you realize that what made or makes the difference is the quantity of bitcoins you getting! If you bought 0.001btc is matters less but if the strategy was to invest 100 dollars every month for the past 5 years or so I suppose that would have been a different story by now.

Chelsea appear to be in the driving seat in the race to sign Erling Haaland this Wednesday, with the Blues hot on the heels of the talented Dortmund forward.

Manchester United have long been linked with a move for the Norwegian, but have rekindled their interest in Jadon Sancho in fear of missing out on Haaland.

With all these rumors which are not ending in signed contracts  is Erling Haaland leaving Dortmund?
