5401  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Poker Freerolls or Tournaments with Guaranteed Prize? Or what's your preference? on: May 20, 2021, 10:40:19 AM
Any gambler will tell you that it's very different when you pay with your own money and pay with "free money". It really depends also some poker players play for fun and want to rush. Others are professional and can sit at a table for 12 hours straight. So the preference is down to the expectations of the player.

Me I like freerolls or SMALL buy in as I just want to be entertained and MAYBE win something.
5402  Economy / Speculation / Re: Everyone acting like there hasn’t been dips like this during a bitcoin bull mark on: May 20, 2021, 08:47:55 AM
Founder and CEO of Aerospace Michael Saylor tweets that the companies he controls have purchased a total of 111,000 BTC without selling any satoshi, only hard hodl. Smiley

He doesn't need to say it, but nice he did. He's a BTC maximalist anyway and not a speculator so we all know he's storing his company's value in BTC and believes in it long term.

Eventually the market will display the truth. Speculators sell and we get the real market value which is what we have today.
5403  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2020/21 on: May 20, 2021, 08:22:55 AM
Yep, in that match, Osasuna was leading the score first and Atletico almost got defeated or got a draw result. They were lucky having Suarez who can score on the minute 88' to make Atletico got 3 points.
There is no such thing as a coincidence.

I agree. Yes there is some luck in football but if you made 25++ chances like Atletico, and cannot score, it was then because of bad luck. I do agree that they were so so so nervous in front of goal so finishing was not normal, too hurried even for a veteran like Suarez.

But football is about creating chances and positive mindset. You can get lucky and win being negative (like Atletico usually) but they changed their style more often to attack more and this is the main difference this season.
5404  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Failed in trade it's not joke. on: May 19, 2021, 04:16:44 PM
Or don't use margin at all. If you have to listen to friends tell you what to do, then you're not ready to trade on your own. Read a lot, but also observe a lot, and in the end put your own money and implement your own strategies.

This is the only "right" way to trade to own your self. It doesn't guarantee profit but at least it satisfies your question of: am I suitable to be a crypto trader?

It's okay if they answer is no too:)
5405  Economy / Speculation / Re: Free falling Bitcoin on: May 19, 2021, 03:05:29 PM
My oh my! Since a few days back my blood pressure has being spiking higher and higher, seeing the price of Bitcoin doing a freefall. I know its prudent for an investor not to panic when the market falling, but I can't help myself starting to panic. I believe that it'd be sensible for me to sell all of my Bitcoins and wait for a suitable time to reinvest.
It is up to you what you do with your money, however something that is not mentioned a lot but that is really important is that there are days in which it is better to not trade or even take a look at the markets and just go outside and do something else with your time, if you keep staring at the charts when the market is going down you will get the symptoms that you are referring, it is because of that many people give up trading even when they are winners as it is impossible to deal with the pressure for long.

Take it easy my friends. We must surely know that deep crashes are very normal on crypto and what more to say defi and alts that have been rising non stop now for a few months. This was always coming, and better it comes now and builds us a strong foundation to continue the growth rally if that is really what is coming now!

Take the dips as easy as we take the growth and we'll be fine long term.
5406  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Bitcoin should be afraid of tron on: May 19, 2021, 01:36:08 PM
I Don't Know about tps..  Or any those terms.
What I know is :
Fast cheap and Reliability*

To be honest, I didn't really care about them as well and that was part of my point in a way. Marketing for alts used to focus on tps and scalability (transactions per second) and people who bought coins didn't care and didn't want to.

But it IS kind of important if you really want reliability (which is also security). When you've used an alt that breaks or doesn't perform as you expect that's when you really treasure the reliability and security of Bitcoin (and now ETH).
5407  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Fighting the FUD of PoW versus Po(Insert favorite word here)!! on: May 19, 2021, 01:02:53 PM
It hasn't worked with other coins, and I don't think that it will work with Ethereum. PoS is a failed technology, which makes the coins more vulnerable to manipulation. For the past two years or so, there have been a lot of hype regarding ETH 2.0. I know it hasn't been implemented fully, but so far what are the changes that it brought? The transaction fee is still high and the vulnerabilities remain. Tell me the name of a single PoS cryptocurrency, which is doing well right now.

Well, it didn't work for all the POS coins I tried out because I saw for myself with maybe 20 or even 30 different coins and wallets I personally staked (yes, yes I did, so I know:) ) but to be fair, none of these coins could really claim to have the same use case and adoption rate as Ethereum. And I'm sure ETH's POS is not going to be straightforward plus it has real governance features. We'll wait and find out I guess.
5408  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What's the motive behind the anti gambling campaign on: May 19, 2021, 11:41:04 AM
It's more of a social taboo in majority of the countries rather than an organized campaign. Gambling is seen in a bad light due to the social and religious structure, especially in poor countries. The same goes with alcohol as well and again due to the social and religious structure in many countries.

But gambling addiction is real. I have seen people lost crazy amount of money and then got into debt trap due to their gambling addiction. So we shouldn't take that aspect lightly.

Definitely more of a social taboo in a lot of countries and I can attest to this myself. It used to be about religion, but today people are more relaxed about it but still in some sections, gambling is seen as an activity only a certain type of people do and it's not a very positive connotation.

But it all does stem from addiction and the press also makes big stories around crimes or tragedies linked to gambling addiction.

And there you go, just making a post about things recovering makes it so untimely, today we see BTC dropping past the 40k mark going down as low as 38k and ETH also is retreating to 2.9k. Both coins are more or less now only at 2x their old ATH while many other altcoins are doing worse going back below ATH.
5410  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2020/2021 on: May 19, 2021, 09:54:09 AM
Leicester's position is on the edge of a cliff if Liverpool gets the winning versus Burnley tonight. Leicester also 1 point different goal from Liverpool. if they lost in the last game and Liverpool gets 2 winnings with 2 or 3 goals, Leicester says goodbye to the champion league. while Chelsea if they lose in the last game they also say goodbye to the champions league If Liverpool and Leicester get the winning in the last games.

This is a competitive game, we have to wait for who gets a failed, Chelsea, Leicester, or Liverpool.

Not true. If they lose and Liverpool win 2/3 goals then the goal difference becomes something like 4 or 5. They just need Crystal Palace then to beat Liverpool by that same margin to force them to drop on goal difference again haha.

Spurs will be up for the last game I guess but Leicester must feel very powerful now.

edit: did not checked, but as I follow, first round without draw in the season

Did not check also but I think there was already a round without a draw before, I think every league had it quite early when everyone seemed to be scoring madly even in the Italian leagues:)

And congrats to the top 3 I guess also it will not change much for the final game, just the winners taking back money and us losers kissing goodbye to our money;)

I remember that back in 2019. It was stabilizing for quite a while above 7k then it slowly went below 6k. I'll avoid to term "crash" as much as possible now, because it is kinda discouraging word to use. Cheesy
Somehow I wish that became a lesson for a lot of people to still hodl on their coins. It's like they wanted still to see below 1k before they even learned anyway Cheesy .

Same as ETH actually,,, remember that it was struggling many times to get above $400 then, and even the same in the current rally, $400 was a big problem. Crashing back to $90 again to effectively lose 75%.

It was never the end for either coin and this is also for sure not the end. Relax and enjoy this dip:)
5413  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2020/21 on: May 19, 2021, 07:14:04 AM
Basically, yeah, Real just needs to win, or it's over. And they need Valladolid to take points off Atletico
Yep, it is a must to win for Real Madrid. It is the last match and 3 points are required to try their luck for the title. However, it won't be easy, they will against Villareal, but the good news that they will play at home. It can be another motivation to win since they must struggle for both the title and their pride as well. Finally, then, it depends on the result of Valladolid vs Atletico Madrid, it is the most crucial thing to see. If the result is a draw or winning for Valladolid, Real can win the title.

The "good news" is the distraction of Europe League final for Villareal, although personally I don't think Villa will do anything other than to try and win. Nothing to play for in La Liga except being the fittest and most active possible to keep momentum.

Suarez will do everything in his power to score I just hope it doesn't become another nervous match.
5414  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2020/21 on: May 18, 2021, 09:05:42 PM
H2H goal difference Real Madrid wins. I'll put up the scenarios below on what are the possibilities.

ATM lose their match, RM win their match - RM wins title
ATM draw their match, RM win their match - RM wins the title (H2H tie breaker rule)

Basically, yeah, Real just needs to win, or it's over. And they need Valladolid to take points off Atletico.

Real will win, this I'm almost for sure certain about. It's Atletico we're all going to watch. They won their last game with 5 minutes to go. 26 chances or something like that but they were too nervous in front of goal it was so crazy.
5415  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: IT’S ALT SZN!!! Shill Me Your Bags!! on: May 18, 2021, 03:59:44 PM
Under latest dump, the worst performing coins were old ERC20s from 2017 which are still active yet, their market cap is very low. So I think I agree with you. Under altcoin season worst altcoins do bigger leaps although miniscule dump in Bitcoin leads them to %50 dumps so quickly. I am gonna stick with top 100-200.

Yeah, I always feel safer doing top 100. But I can tell you that tactic definitely failed for 2017 run, speaking of ERC20 tokens. I haven't picked up a single new token now in this rally, as tempting as those defi coins were, I just can't see myself breaking down my ETH or BTC savings to risk them in maybe-gone-tomorrow deficoins:)

Unless you're like one of those guys who only places live. I've done it before and betting on a 90 minute match, several outcomes, like scores every 10 mins, next to score, next corner, next card, all those can be really exciting and accumulate a large wager if your initial bet's big like most sports betters anyway:) Of course, doesn't change that it takes longer in general.
Yes, it is really a hard task to reach higher levels just through sports bet wagers. However I find reaching of higher rank through sports bet wagers a secure way than moving forward through casino wager. Majority of the casino wagered gamblers could've experienced massive losses reaching higher levels.

I don't really know, as I never made proper comparisons, plus I bet sports and play casino games at different websites. I do notice that my wagers are much higher at dice sites thanks to martingale gone wrong. I guess martingale at sports would achieve the same results, only slower, except odds are not always fixed for easy martingale with sports betting:)

Today is starting optimistic in market and all Cryptos got positive sense , so is it end of story of these days nightmare or Elon Musk tweet again to lead the market any where he wants. In the other hand there s too much Elon heard so may the market would not respond to him further more. Let me what you think ? Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

It's a normal bounce reaction you would see from any deep crash, but I personally think the crash wasn't THAT big, just a sort of correction from the unusual pump from before. Now it's reaching the mid-stage of consolidation from the real levels pre pump, which is why I'm confident we'll see a proper taking of $50k for BTC and a lot more alts finding solid ground to grow from.
5418  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What's the motive behind the anti gambling campaign on: May 18, 2021, 12:47:20 PM
I noticed the same, the topics about negative side effects of gambling grew a lot over the last few months. The main reason behind is that probably more people got into gambling since the corona pandemic. With a higher number of gamblers we will also see more people who lose, even though the chances of losing or didn't really change. Also I think that people have a little bit more time at the moment due do home office and less outdoor activities, so we can talk about our gambling experiences. On top of that is the need to talk to about gambling stronger when we lose than when we are winning. In my culture we tend to be more secretive about money and wouldn't really share with others if we won.

It's quite natural I think, people have spent most of their lives online in regular times, and even more so during lockdown period since last year. Unfortunately, I guess more people gambling (and speculating on crypto haha) and not controlling themselves. Like you said, chances of losing never changes, just more people acting irrational increased.

Same culture as here then. You don't tell anyone you won big unless you want to get robbed or contacted by long lost friends.

Just thinking that if you will redeem your RP to get RP bonus, do you think you can keep up with the hourly timer?
Because for me, I usually use few times of the redeemed bonus so it is not worth for me redeeming the RP.

Heavily discussed and yeah, the only thing worth redeeming is the RP bonus. And you do need to roll at least 13 times to make it worthwhile, which in most cases means you should only do it when you're totally online and totally free! Even with the timer and reminder ping, I find it very difficult to make the most out of it when I'm also working!
5420  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Fighting the FUD of PoW versus Po(Insert favorite word here)!! on: May 18, 2021, 11:02:55 AM
PoS actually stands for "Piece of Shit" and not "Proof of Stake". Elon Musk, being a PoS himself wants us cryptocurrency users to dump Bitcoin for some shitcoin which he can control. He has realized that it is impossible to manipulate Bitcoin, and that is why he has come up with crazy excuses such as Bitcoin uses too much electricity. Right now, there is not a single altcoin out there, which has the same security benefit as that of Bitcoin. Elon just wants a centralized coin, which he can dictate.

Hehe, first time I head of Piece of Shit and I wouldn't outright call PoS like that you know, I mean ETH 2.0 is moving right into that exact direction, with PoS itself being quite a mature piece of technology right now when it comes to blockchain.

Of course I made myself many mistakes with old POS type coins but the implementation for ETH I hear is very different.
