Because the bankers will let you what? Move your fiat to bitcoin through coinbase/mt gox when the time comes?

There will come a time, soon, when people won't want to convert from btc to fiat. In the meantime, Bitcoin will continue to slowly suck up excess liquidity until it becomes more liquid than the fiat weighed down by debt.

It will be a very different monetary world in a year or two and Bitcoin is already helping to shape it.

Bitcoin sure will be surging to the top if the world is in big chaos.
But if the world is in absolute peace, then the gov won't have a lot of regulations. Then bitcoin future won't be very sure.

No need for chaos or peace, bitcoin will thrive because it's convenient, and eventually it will become easy to use also.

And?
No one will pay 1000k usd for a bottle of water.
No one will pay 1000k usd for a virtual crap that can disappear at any time.

Dude, people in Japan pay Y1,000,000 for car. Everyone's a millionaire!

When I was a kid it cost £0.10 to ride on the bus, now it costs £2.80
The house I live in cost £18k in the 1980s now it costs £150k

Inflation is an amazing thing, it's a stealth tax, it steals peoples savings without them noticing.

Bitcoin is the reverse of this.

In Zimbabwe everyone is a trillionaire. Cheesy

It can't be true. Too big and no media attention. Even if that is true, it could tremendously help bitcoin. Smiley

It can't be true because you trust the media?
If it is not in the main stream media then it does not happen, it is out of reality. It is the new "If a tree falls in a forest and no one is around to hear it, does it make a sound?" reality. They even covered up the government against their own regarding the O's spying on them. Now it is but a forgotten memory.

Having say all of that, we should always be conscious about news, especially from people posting links on a forum Smiley

It is not "news worthy": http://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/1oo0w7/lets_clear_the_air_about_chase_and_other_banks/

We are all different, these "advice" are just the reflections of other people experience, you need to make your own path and discover what works for you, there's no such think as a magic formula...

But, and again about GOP, somethings I recall from memory, obligatory vaginal ultrasound, ongoing battle against abortion, "legitimate rape", "honest rape", "gift from god rape", 10 commandments in public places, "marriage is between a man and a woman like god intended", isn't/wasn't Michelle Bachmann a very important figure in the party and her husband was a cure gays with faith preacher?

I'm can't remember more stuff, but I'm pretty sure the Intelligent Design/Creationism people are right wing.

I do understand that these people don't represent the all pie, but they have power and are very vocal about this stuff.

Plus this quote from Barry Goldwater:

Quote
Mark my word, if and when these preachers get control of the [Republican] party, and they're sure trying to do so, it's going to be a terrible damn problem. Frankly, these people frighten me. Politics and governing demand compromise. But these Christians believe they are acting in the name of God, so they can't and won't compromise. I know, I've tried to deal with them.

For whatever reason, people outside the US get the bible-belt impression of the Republicans, whereas inside the US, the broad Libertarian message is just a way to hook the more rational voters (although actual use of the L-word is rare in the mainstream, the concepts just get borrowed and dumped as the user deems fit). If the Libertarians get any reference made to them at all outside the US, they are labelled "extremists" or "the far-right", as mind-bendingly weird as that sounds. Libertarians are of course much closer to the center ground (in the intellectually repellent left-right spectrum), but that doesn't stop news media from misrepresenting the truth.

A good example is a great quote from Terry Gilliam on his dystopian comedy movie "Brazil". He basically says that the popularity of "Brazil" with the American far-right took him by surprise. I don't know for sure whether he's being knowingly ignorant, but it stretches credulity to think an actual American could possibly be so foolish to truly believe they were making an accurate statement saying something like that.

Sorry, I son't see Republicans as Libertarians, there's Ron Paul, but he just seems crazy town...

I've label myself as "liberal" as long as I remember, then I learned it is a political statement in US, I've studied US "liberals", I don't identify with them!!

But, as you have been saying, labels are what they are, and I need one for me. Smiley

Anyway, I'm too drunk to type...

5439  Economy / Economics / Re: Is Fractional Reserve banking possible with Bitcoin? on: October 19, 2013, 03:53:46 PM
It is possible with off-chain transactions, it wont affect bitcoin value, but the "business" will crash when a "bank run" occurs...
