5423  Economy / Economics / Re: Internet would become the most expensive commodity in the world. on: March 30, 2020, 01:56:13 AM
yeeah I start to appreciate internet more than before but still I think it's too early for these kinda tho'
I enjoy using internet many years ago, when internet was primitive, I can use the internet to my heart content, I can download 24/7, and my internet bills isn’t high too, but now we have mobile data in the mix, we aren’t allowed to stream as much as we like or you’re looking at a bills bomb in the end of the month, also broadband bills aren’t getting cheaper too, the entire internet is plagued with ads ware, bandwidth leeching, mining virus, many garbage data plugin pops up that will used up all your internet quote quickly.
Yeah, totally agree with that notion. The sad part, at least in my case, is that service providers here are monopolized by few privilege and you can't do anything about it. Poor service, slow internet connection and then high cost of bill. What you call leeching is what they deem as "fair usage policy".

But there are a lot of countries that are offering free internet, but I think there is a catch, you can be track anytime they want. And I guess nothing is free in this world.
5424  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: HOT (HOLO) good to invest ?? on: March 29, 2020, 05:22:42 AM
Always DOYR, (Do Your Own Research).

There are other projects that are similar to HOLO like DagChain as far as I know, so that is not a unique ideas although there could be some difference at all. What I'm trying to put out is that usually if a project has a "copy-cat" version, usually who is the first gets more of the attention. We can even compare as well to Bluezelle, so always research first and do your due diligence before investing.
5425  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: [Ranking Up]: From Senior to Hero Member on: March 29, 2020, 02:57:12 AM
Congratulations OP for ranking up, you seems to be very active lately, finding scammers specially the Covid-19 attacks, in which criminals are taking advantage of. Keep up the good work, and nice tip, by the way. I see some members though saying that writing guide and sharing it here is somewhat repetitive, but I believe otherwise. Those guides that you really put up can really help a lot of beginners and newbies. So keep up the good work.
5426  Economy / Economics / Re: COVID-19 will pave the way for CBDCs on: March 28, 2020, 10:33:18 AM
Right, as @figmentofmyass has said, US is moving towards a digital dollar to combat this pandemic.

So probably we will see countries moving in this direction, China will accelerate and possible that other EU nations as well. I'm still a bit skeptical about Russia though, we all know that they want to put everything under their control. Although issuing digital + <insert local fiat here> might be also be used as surveillance measures to track everyone.
5427  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 NBA Season on: March 28, 2020, 10:02:38 AM
Corona virus can spread easily US needs to have more preventive measures in order to be able to cope up and lessen the potentials spread around them.
In a daily basis, the number of infected people have increase and the fact that US now become the number 1 in terms of number of cases, they should put everything in lock down, they have to deal with this virus properly as it's life of the people are at risk here.

What measures they really do? Why is it the number of cases has been skyrocketing?
Does the measure means its not effect?
Right, there has been no reported cases in China, on the contrary US has overtaken Italy on the number of people getting affected by the corona virus. Yes lockdown is a good measures, but I think there should be mandatory test on everyone in the US, specially big states like New York and Los Angeles as the virus is quickly spreading in big cities.

I don't think that we need to worry about NBA players though, yes they can be affected as well, but there body is always healthy and could get the best medicine to help them out.
5428  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: convert bitcoin address to ethereum address on: March 28, 2020, 08:52:57 AM
I would not be surprised if one day I see you complain that your funds are stolen because you downloaded some file from some website. How convenient it must be for hackers that someone would actually use their work and hand their private keys.

Correct, of course right now we can say that this is a good tool to used.

However, one day we might see someone bitching around the community and say that he had lost his BTC when using some online tools that supposedly clean. Could be good if you are not playing with huge amount of BTC here, just to get how the supposedly conversion works.

But better to stay with BTC and then separate your funds with Ethereum, just saying.
5429  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Is LOCALTRADE.CC a SCAM? on: March 27, 2020, 11:01:03 AM
Lol, over 4 months now? It seems that this is a scam site.

I find this one: LocalTrade.pro,LocalTrade.cc scammers.

This is the supposedly Ann thread: Exchange crypto-currency LocalTrade, but it looks like it is a dead thread by now. Even the one who posted it, vanida_1, hasn't log-in for almost a year now.

Sorry to burst the bubble for you, it looks like you have been scammed. Not familiar with the legal laws pertaining to cryptocurrency in England though.
5430  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Logo: #90 on Fortune's top 100 greatest designs on: March 27, 2020, 10:30:48 AM
I think it sits where it should be, BTC is fairly young as compare to those logos on the top echelon.

However, I don't think we should make a fuzz about this one, for me, its better if bitcoin should be recognized not by it's logo, but how it changes people lives, in my opinion. So I agree, this shouldn't be taken seriously, its all for the aesthetics of it.
5431  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Warning: Website Scam on: March 27, 2020, 09:28:36 AM
Yes, the site is no longer accessible, thanks to those who have reported it.

And thanks to the OP for the warning, this will be a continues mouse-and-cat game here. If you don't investigate, and just be very very careful on anything, don't careful, check everything first, update our anti-virus software. Stay vigilant and stay safe.
5432  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 NBA Season on: March 27, 2020, 09:02:41 AM
^^, Yes, US and Italy are now the new ground zero, not very good, China has somewhat control the spread of the virus, while US are rising very fast and there have been high profile personalities and athletes getting infected.

@bbc.reporter - I don't know if high profile personalities are more willing to be a pawn in this pandemic by the government. But I do agree that this is getting uglier by the day. Lock downs, self-isolation, it's madness right now even here in our country.
5433  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: New suggestion for unpaid bounties on: March 26, 2020, 11:56:31 PM
Sue them,  Smiley

Seriously, though this forum have seen the worst those non-paying bounties. However, they won't step in  because it is not moderated. So it's really up to you bounty hunters, if you wanted to continue and experience non-payment over and over again.

Although there could be some that are paying on them, however, if you look at the price, most of the time it is worthless. And the time you spent on them, is just a waste of them. So bounty hunters are in a lose-lose situation and I doubt that we can return to 2017, wherein everyone was really making huge money.
5434  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do Holders actually bought BTC during the crash? on: March 26, 2020, 11:19:27 PM
I think we don't need to complicate things, I mean we always preach one of the golden rules, BTFD. So these kind of reports just validate what we already know since the beginning, that smart investors know when to enter, that is when everyone is panic selling.

Maybe one factor that really threw us off-balance is the fact how quickly the market falls in matter of hours, and most didn't know how to react but sell. Yeah, they could be running like headless chicken, but they definitely regretting cashing out (specially if it is a loss).
5435  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does good side of gambling overcomes its negative side? on: March 26, 2020, 06:46:49 PM
I would suggest to read @avikz posts below, I think this is related or relevant to the current discussions.

(1) Why gambling is portrayed negatively almost everywhere?
(2) Benefits of gambling? Yes - it exists!

(3) How gambling can effect the economy of a country [Part 1 - USA]
(4) How gambling can effect the economy of a country [Part 2 - Macau]
5436  Economy / Economics / Re: How long this crisis will be? on: March 26, 2020, 06:25:37 PM
I haven't seen the video, but the last pandemic we have is the "Spanish" flu in 1918 that killed a lot of people back then. I don't think it will be uglier though, we have vastly improved since the last great pandemic.

So I'm hoping that in the next 3-6 months, a vaccine can be discovered to stop this madness. As of right now, self quarantine is not enough, the number of infected are growing.

A good visual, trajectory of every country here: https://www.visualcapitalist.com/infection-trajectory-flattening-the-covid19-curve/

5438  Other / Off-topic / Re: Coronavirus Prediction Thread on: March 25, 2020, 11:02:20 AM
I've voted Q1 2021. Because for me it's hard to contained this kind of spread, person-to-person and from contact to contaminated surfaces, so I guess that allowed can't be stop in the next coming months as the numbers of victims keep growing.

As far as the vaccines goes, might take some time for the scientist to discover as this is a new strain and might take longer than expected.
5439  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: AIR DROPS ! wasting time or not? on: March 25, 2020, 10:15:36 AM
Well you can already answer that yourself.

Asking you eth or btc just to get your airdop? Sounds scammed to me, so if I'm in your shoes, don't waste your time joining airdrop bounties, not worth your time and most of them are scammers.

And regardless if there is a legit airdrop, gone are the days wherein airdrops is very profitable. So again, don't waste your energy and your time on them.
5440  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Wales what it is / who are they? on: March 25, 2020, 09:45:27 AM
Bitcoin whales are semi-mythical - everyone talks about them, but no one names any names. You'd bet that in all these years someone would pinpoit at least a few individuals, but no, it's always the abstract "whales". I'm not saying that they don't exist, but we have no idea just how many of them there are, how much do they cooperate, how many coins do they hold, etc. Maybe their influence is severely overblown and they don't fully control the price like many people believe.
Right, we always heard about whales and most of us used that term here in the community. But we will never knew who those people are as it is obvious that bitcoin addresses have no names attached to it.

They could be individuals, or institutions or miners or exchanges who have money to begin with and invest or hold onto their BTC. So this number can grow overtime as there are many who wanted to have a bag full of bitcoin because of it's limited supply.
