5461  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: My journey on December 2019 (Nothing is impossible) on: January 07, 2020, 11:15:24 AM
NO, don't do that, it's too early.
Okay, understood. I will find the good posters or who deserve it without a merit giveaway. Thank you for reminding me.  Smiley

I know your intention isn't not bad
Of course, my intention is surely to find out good posts of JR or Newbie that deserve. Will be glad if I can contribute to help a good JR or Newbie.
5462  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: My journey on December 2019 (Nothing is impossible) on: January 07, 2020, 10:45:45 AM
-snip- having not-perfect grammar and punctuation is no problem at all. All that's important is that the reply/post is understandable enough.
Indeed. I agree that it is not a big problem as long as the post/reply is understandable. Having good grammar and punctuation is just an extra point for a poster.

Anyway, I wish you the best of luck to your journey to Full member!
Thank you, sir. Your support is greatly appreciated.  Smiley

Great testimony Rengga Jati, thank you for sharing.
With my pleasure, buddy. I'm so glad if people can be motivated or inspired by my post. I always happy if I can contribute to help others.

Many new users often complain how difficult is to get merits and feel they deserve merits for their posts and feel angry because others don't think so.
Yeah, some people still debate about the difficulty in getting merits. However, it doesn't solve the problems. Even merit sources or sMerit holders probably bored with that complaint. So, it is better to stop it and try harder.  Wink

It's right way, please continue that way and other members will reward your effort and contribution.
Definitely. I will do my best and never stop to do efforts.

My merits was always greater than my activity. Even still now I have earned merit for Legendary but just lack of activity.
Only a few people can have higher merits than activity. Those are truly special members, including you sir. A lack of activity means your account age is still young, while your merit achievement shows that you have extensive knowledge. Incredible!!

some people become disappointed after made some post when they do not received merits. That thoughts is totally wrong, you should not give up. Who know when merits will come? Posting intention should not for merits, post should be useful and informative.
Yes, it is totally the wrong way. The focus must be on improving post quality, make it valuable (useful+informative). Merits will come when people think it is meritable, they shouldn't worry.

Keep it up op, hope very soon you will be Full member and if you continue your contribution it will not very hard to achieve Legendary rank.
I hope so. I will do my best to reach Full member this month. The next target is surely Sr - Legend. Even though it is hard, I will try with best efforts.  Smiley

-snip- please always try to help newbies with your smerits.
Certainly. I have a plan to make a merit giveaway for JR & Newbie only. I'm still trying to collect an adequate amount. I will make it once I have collected more than 20.
5463  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: My journey on December 2019 (Nothing is impossible) on: January 06, 2020, 04:53:09 AM
We need more users like you here in forum youre contributions will benefit you later on. I see youre posts and youre really doing a lot of helpful post.
Thank you, buddy. You are also great, it seems to reach Hero rank soon this year. Good luck for us!

Sometimes,it will take time for our efforts to be recognized by forum members but for sure it will
Yes, it's true. They will. Just focus on improving contribution and our dedication, they must appreciate who take serious efforts.

-snip- it's never a barrier or a hinderance, as long as you can write out what anyone with even a primary school education can understand, -snip-
Indeed. As long as what you wrote is understandable and readable, don't worry to continue posting. But if you can write with a correct grammatical function and use proper punctuation, then it surely will better.

I have given you quite a few merits if think, and I'm sure you'll earn more from me as long as you continue doing good on the forum as you have been doing for weeks now.
Thank you so much, buddy. Your support is absolutely very needed. I am very grateful for your appreciation.  Smiley
5464  Other / Meta / Re: Just a little suggestion related to "report to moderator" feature on: January 06, 2020, 03:32:18 AM
From what I've known about the admin, he does not make anything arbitrarily.
Yeah, you are right. FYI, I have no intention to state the admin arbitrary.  Smiley

I also don't agree with you on reducing the cutoff to below 300.
No problem. We have own view, and it is okay for me.
You viewed from the statistic aspect, and I viewed from another one.

Read my guide to customize your patrol page, and read the guide made by Welsh.
Okay. I will read all the guides, it should be very helpful for me. Thanks

So, you should just keep on reporting what you see against forum rules, than worrying about your reports,
Agree. That's what I also believe in. Keep reporting and don't worry about the numbers.
5465  Other / Meta / Re: Just a little suggestion related to "report to moderator" feature on: January 06, 2020, 03:05:07 AM
-snip- in the aspect of statistics, the percentage is only represent the truth if the sample size has at least 100 observations. Some people misuse the percentage statistics when their sample size are only 10, 20 or 30, that is hilarious, -snip-
Thanks for this opinion. I can say that it is quite reasonable if we analyze from the aspect of statistics. But from the aspect of appreciation to the reporters, the number (300) is better to decrease. However, you are right, it is the decision of admin. And it is his authority.

I have found it in this topic https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5214824.0 , Yeah i agree with you i think we should know the reason why we need 300 reports. I only have report 5 with 80% accuracy that is so far from 300.
Thanks so much for your support, buddy. I also still have six reported posts because I have just started. Let's do it more.  Wink
5466  Other / Meta / Re: Just a little suggestion related to "report to moderator" feature on: January 06, 2020, 02:33:21 AM
1. How if we have the history of report to moderator in each user's profile.
Maybe I was looks this questions in other thread, someone say you can know your history report if you have at least total of 300 reports
Okay, interesting to know it, buddy. Please enclose the link here if you remember where you ever read it. To be honest, I just know about it. And I'm curious about the reason why we need 300 reports to have the history report.

Why do reported users need to know who reported them? That doesn't make sense and could be a catalyst for irreverent tension
Buddy, please recheck again what I wrote above. I didn't say the reported users got the notification of who reported him. But just a notification that tells him which posts are reported by people. So, no need to know who the reporter.   Wink

If there is a notification, he will know to avoid such posts in the future.

*sorry I edited reports --> posts. That's a mistake.
5467  Other / Meta / Just a little suggestion related to "report to moderator" feature on: January 06, 2020, 02:19:54 AM

For the reporter:
1. How if we have the history of report to moderator in each user's profile.
2. How if we have a notification which categorizes the reports. Which reports categorized as good reports, bad reports, or unhandled reports.

For the reported users:
1. There is a notification to the users. It tells the users which posts have been reported by people.

*I have read some previous threads discussing "report to moderator" feature, but I didn't find out such a suggestion as above. Please let me know if I missed something. Thanks.
5468  Local / Bahasa Indonesia (Indonesian) / Re: Dilema undang undang pelarangan bitcoin sebagai alat pembayaran on: January 05, 2020, 09:40:56 PM

Rupiah.Pebisnis.Bisa.Dipenjara.1.Tahun.?page=all
5469  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: They want your Bticoin. Don't fall for this new scam, it's too real on: January 05, 2020, 02:56:24 PM
There were already many cases of scammers using telegram to trap people. I got many times about a message offering to earn money with Bitcoin. But I just ignored all, reported the message, and blocked the user. Remember, no people will share you some money only in an instant way. It doesn't make sense for sure. Let's think smarter to avoid scammer who wants to steal your Bitcoin.
5470  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Buying online with crypto? Its worthed? on: January 05, 2020, 02:42:59 PM
Sure. It is one of the goals why we have crypto coins, right? With crypto coins, we can directly buy without the need for third parties. It must be a more effective, cheaper cost, and faster transaction. Fiat isn't a good payment tool for online shop, it needs to transfer between one bank to another bank. This makes the transaction more complicated.
5471  Local / Altcoins (Bahasa Indonesia) / Re: Jangan pernah Investasi di Koin Lokal on: January 04, 2020, 09:35:27 PM
5472  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Death of ICOs on: January 04, 2020, 09:19:35 PM
Correct. ICO is losing popularity nowadays. We rarely saw ICOs that can provide fundraising successfully. Most ICOs failed to get funds and the rest failed to keep their token's value on the market. Finally, those conditions lead all ICOs to become dead projects.

By the way, I think some vital factors are :
1. Lack of investors
2. IEO becomes popular
3. No changes on ICO's condition
4. Most investors probably focus on Bitcoin for upcoming BTC halving
5473  Economy / Economics / Re: Grandma tell you to keep old coin in piggy bank on: January 04, 2020, 08:36:57 PM
-snip- “my sweet child’s, keep your shitcoin and it would fetch high value!”
What do you exactly want to say with these words? Do you mean to suggest people leave shit-coin and focus on Bitcoin only?
Well, I will never advise my children to keep shit-coins. What for?? There are too many potential coins, why choosing the worse coins. We must know that keeping shit-coins just wastes time and it will be no future, no value, and no hope.

Anyway, can you tell me a bit about what coins do classify into shit-coins category? I hope you won't assume all altcoins are shit-coins.
5474  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to know if a bitcoin trading is worth trusting? on: January 04, 2020, 08:20:29 PM
I am new to this whole bitcoin thing and know very little about it.
Hi, nice to have you as a new member. Please be careful with scammers or fraudsters because there are many of them outside there. They have many ways to deceive people, including offering big profits with instant ways. They target all people, especially beginners or newcomers.

I am being proposed 100% ROI, with the trader claiming 95%+ success rate. If I invest $500, I will get back $5000 within 5 days.
How can he/she guarantee for 100% ROI? And in what way the trader can guarantee to get profits $4,500 in 5 days only? These seem no sense for me. Even a professional/experienced trader shouldn't guarantee profits and surely no exact amount for profit, especially profits just in 5 days.

*I suggest quitting the Telegram group. The trader is likely a fraudster. Do not too easy to trust in instant profits!
5475  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 2020 - Set your Target and Make your Plans on: January 04, 2020, 11:57:17 AM
-snip-
-snip- My plan is to hoard a lot of altcoins in order for me to earn a lot in the halving season and my target is to earn so much because of the high value of altcoins -snip-
Firstly, I think you don't need to quote all the threads. It is a long thread, quite annoying if you quote all. Just write down your comment on the reply space, buddy.

Why you are so confident that altcoins will have high values in the halving season? Honestly, I am not really sure the altcoins season will coincide with the halving season. According to halving history, the rising phase of Bitcoin will happen one year later. So, altcoins probably rise in 2021, not in 2020. In addition, when Bitcoin rises, sometimes altcoins don't follow it. So, why you don't hoard Bitcoin which has more potential to soar?

It's back.
OP, the search feature has been recovered. You can use it now without any problem. Please lock this thread!! Wink
5477  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: My journey on December 2019 (Nothing is impossible) on: January 04, 2020, 10:43:58 AM
Long term plan:
- I have a plan to make this thread as a place to write my account history.  Smiley

Update on OP currently (March 10, 2020):

Title:
My journey in 2019 - 2020 (Nothing is impossible)

New paragraph:
Today, I have earned 250+ Merits and I am already a Senior Member. Thank you so much for Mr. dbshck as the biggest contributor to my achievement so far. Also to others that always support and appreciate my efforts. I'm lucky to have you all.

*Now, the next target is Hero Member. It seems to be a long journey. But will try my best.  Smiley
5478  Other / Beginners & Help / My journey in 2019 - 2020 (Nothing is impossible) on: January 04, 2020, 10:30:41 AM
After around 2 years got no earned merits, finally I earned the first one on December 01, 2019. It became a new stage for my account improvement. Since that day, I can gain several merits in the following days. Thanks to Mr. abhiseshakana as the first merit sender for me. Well, December 2019 is really my lucky month. I never imagined that I can earn 45 Merits during that month.

Today, I have earned 250+ Merits and I am already a Senior Member. Thank you so much for Mr. dbshck as the biggest contributor to my achievement so far. Also to others that always support and appreciate my efforts. I'm lucky to have you all.

From this short story, I want to tell newbies and Junior that getting merits is not impossible. I don't know anyone, but apparently I can still collect merits. This means as long as you want to try serious efforts, people will appreciate your works. Of course, not just any trying, but there are some things that we must be fulfilled. I realize several things.

Thread/topic
  • Create a useful/helpful thread or topic.
  • Its content should be informative, easy to understand, and clearly enough
  • The sentences have a correct grammatical function and written in proper punctuation.
  • The paragraphs are made in the right order, from opening to closing.
  • The topic is delivered in a simple or straightforward manner. Don't make it complicated.
  • Unique. It mustn't a copy-paste/plagiarism work.

Reply
  • It should be on topic.
  • The sentences have a correct grammatical function and written in proper punctuation.
  • The idea/opinion must be reasonable, unique, and factual.
  • The idea/opinion has value or something informative.
  • It must be better presenting data or enclosing information sources.

Besides making threads or replies, we can do other things:
  • Help others. When people asking about information related to forum, exchanges, wallet, or etc
  • Report spammers, merit abusers, or bounty cheaters

*The list above is created based on my own opinion. If you have others, you can add it to your lists.

Back to the progress of my account, I really hope it can reach the Full member at the beginning this year. So, I'm trying my best to make more good posts. I am sure sooner or later my account will move on to the next level. And I will still do efforts to go to higher levels. I trust I can, and nothing is impossible to reach.

Finally, I want to invite all newbies/Juniors to stop complaining about the merit system and better start trying to improve your post quality. As many people have proven it, I believe we can do it as well. The point is keeping the best efforts, both making good posts and help others. Good luck for us!!
5479  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Simple Guide on Bitcointalk on: January 04, 2020, 07:41:53 AM
This is a simple guide I've created to eradicate the mentality of being rushed to receive bounty money for some beginners here. -snip-
on your OP. You clearly stated that this guide is meant for bounty hunters
I agree with Coin_trader, the first sentence clearly refers to bounty hunters or the beginners who rush to follow bounty programs. You are better to revise this sentence if you have no intention to make it specific for the bounty hunters only.

Anyway, the roadmap's goal seems to be an investment. It contradicts the first sentence. It looks like un-matched and doesn't support one another.

-snip- there will be new problems caused by lack of information in this forum. That's why guidelines should always exist here. -snip-
Are you sure we have a lack of information? And we have already had some guides/rules, right?

Some basic guide/rules/tips:
1. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2766177.0
2. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=178608.0
3. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=703657.0
4. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1689727.0
5. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1629118.0
6. etc

We have also guide/rules/tips on each local board. So, I don't think we have a lack of information. And the basic guide/rules/tips have already created as well.

For me, a newbie can find out everything if he/she is not lazy. He/she can use the search feature/ google custom search to know everything about bitcointalk forum.
5480  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Using Crypto at Gas Stations on: January 03, 2020, 11:24:05 PM
I think I've seen a gas station that accepts crypto but it's offshore that was posted here before and I can barely remember where that could be.
So, you saw it in real life? Not from reading an article/news? Once you found it, just post the picture or the link source if you got it from an article. I am curious to know it since it never happened in my country.

it's not safe to buy gas with while online in your phone when paying crypto on the gas station.
It is easy to get a solution. Just make a payment place at the entrance of the gas station. So, you will pay before you go in.

Actually, I don't focus on this side, but how the implementation of crypto payment can be approved by the governments. It is more complicated than discussing the payment technical.
