5461  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin will plummet to $10 by first half of 2014 on: April 22, 2014, 08:15:51 PM
Has the op said he ment 2015 yet?

He corrected his date to 2140. That buys him over one hundred years before proven wrong.
5462  Economy / Speculation / Re: Final Warning for Long-term holders... on: April 22, 2014, 07:50:34 PM
Hi OP,
I know a lot of people jump on posters here. It's not really you. They just have seen a lot of bold statements from new accounts that go very, very wrong. Consider your title and it's contradiction with your later, and correct, statement. No one knows what the market is going to do. Not Nostradomis, not the Wall Street Journal, no one. So when someone "warns" the community about an impending sell off or huge buy; Well it has been seen a million times before and it basically never pans out.
If you believe that your interpretation of the clues is correct, then state it as opinion and you may draw a lot less fire.
5463  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: New to buying Bitcoins wanna buy a substantial amount for silkroad marketplace? on: April 22, 2014, 07:33:23 PM
You might want to start with something other than documenting your intent to break the law. After that, learn a LOT about bitcoin. The criminals at a place like SR are experts not at selling drugs, but at robbing you blind. Then what? It's not like you can complain to the cops.

Buyer beware is an understatement.

So how do u handle 0 confirmation tx's
The places I have eaten never wait for confirmation. It does require some trust on their part, but so does a check or even a cash. The cash may be found to be counterfeit later on. It is worth trusting in these cases because faking it would be a bigger hassle than just paying the bill.
5465  Other / Off-topic / Re: Where do billionaires keep their money? on: April 22, 2014, 05:50:13 PM
I don't think a billionaire thinks about money they think about wealth. Money is for poor people, real wealth is real estate, gold, businesses, etc. It's not like a billionaire carries a wallet.
5466  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC transfer are too damn slow! on: April 22, 2014, 05:43:30 PM
Remember also that a credit card transfer seems fast, but it is only an insured promise of money. The actual transfer takes at least a day.
5467  Economy / Speculation / Re: Little birdie !! on: April 22, 2014, 05:40:39 PM
Date:  April 20th, 2014

I just heard from a "little birdie" that ...

$130-170 /USD = BTC
...

Wannabet?

Yes. Yes I will take that bet. How about 1BTC that by the end of the month, or next month, we have not seen <$170? Deal?

I do not make my money by listening to stories about birds. I make it by taking advantage of the ignorant.  Here is your chance to put up, and show some belief in your own statements. Maybe I'm wrong and your blabber-mouth whale will come through?
5468  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: [WTS] 6BTC at $410/each on: April 22, 2014, 05:28:20 PM
I will be ready to buy 1 BTC.
You send first or we will use a trusted escrow service.
Sounds fair. Since escrow is an absolute must for such a transaction.
5469  Other / Off-topic / Re: just start datin few weeks ago how do I explain her I can't pay for everything? on: April 22, 2014, 05:22:11 PM
If she doesn't want you without money then she doesn't want you, and you don't want her.

I feel for the guy. But I'm guessing a lot of his supporters thought of the occupiers on Wall St. as squatters. Well, that is what he is doing. A bridge burned...  Undecided

5472  Economy / Speculation / Re: So the China Apr 15 “End of the World and Bitcoin” has come and gone and now… on: April 22, 2014, 03:45:29 PM
We need some bad news now to get cheap BTC Smiley...
I heard a guy who knows someone in China who personally knows chairman Mao! He saw a leaked document from China's capitalist bank that said bitcoin will be double banned!!! Get out while you can bag holders.  Shocked
5473  Other / Off-topic / Re: Quit smoking on: April 22, 2014, 02:30:12 PM
It is not easy to stop, but just stopping is the whole show. I Quit some years ago. I had failed in previous attempts. The time I was successful I just determined each day that I was not going to smoke no matter what. It got harder for the first 10 days. After that it got easier each day. Now, I don't even think about it. It can be done!  Smiley

I had something at Ada' Technical books in Seattle last week. They had BitPay integrated into their POS register. Very easy, just select a tip then pay the QR code. Here in Madison I like an Indonesian place called Bandung. There you can just scan the tattered QR code taped to the counter.  It could not get easier than that, but you'll have to remember to add a tip.

Hey thanks for posting this anyway. Despite my criticism of the article I appreciate you taking the time out to post a link to this.    Smiley

Coin Telegraph is now getting really famous for publishing unsubstantiated news without any proof. There is no sign from the Wall Street that any of the big names are interested in the Bitcoin. Other than the Winkelwii, he have not seen any large-scale investors for the past 12 months or so.

+1
There are "investors" coming all the time and some are wall street types. That's different than the inclusion of bitcoin into investment vehicles, like the Winkelvoss brothers have put together. The article is just speculation, no different than the unsubstantiated claims about immanent bans.
