5461  Economy / Economics / Re: Can legalisation of Cannabis help US economy? on: September 08, 2020, 08:36:42 AM
I don't think it's a good idea to legalize cannabis for the purpose of helping the American economy. Based on the research I have done,
cannabis can have adverse mental and health effects. Therefore, the number of countries that legalized cannabis was not large. I think
Tom Daschle is a cannabis addict, so he really wants to legalize cannabis. Because I've never heard of any politician has such an idea.
And I am curious about what Donald Trump thinks about this idea.

The Netherlands are doing pretty fine with legal cannabis. It supports the local economy, attracts tourist, and helps their people. If the cannabis industry would get regulated the quality would get better - so a plus for the consumers. Also, instead of supporting drug cartels with buying weed, the government could actually tax the sale and make a profit of it.  Growing cannabis locally would support the local economy and offer new jobs. I think long term US should make it legal in all states. California seems to be doing well also with legalised cannabis.

COVID really ruined everything this year, people lost jobs , some others lost bussineses its really sad, GOVS should be funding everyone until economy is stabilized

Also the outlook for next year is not that good. Everyone wants 2020 to end but who knows how 2021 will look like. There is still no 100% security that a vaccine will be available for everyone. It's very sad to hear when people don't see any way forward except taking their own life. They might be ending their own suffering, but creating new suffering for their friends and family.
5463  Other / Off-topic / Re: Places to travel! Any recommendation~? on: September 08, 2020, 06:02:36 AM
When it's safe to travel, i would like to go to Bali. It's a very beautiful place. Lots of beaches, good food, massages...

Bali is awesome, I can recommend it. It will be an awesome trip. You can spend a lot of time exploring Bali it's a huge island. But if you do get the chance go and visit one of the Gili Islands, it's only a few hours boat ride away. They are even more beautiful.
5464  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🌟Just seen someone win $42,000 in btc on bitvest.🌟 on: September 08, 2020, 05:57:26 AM
My question to you "Can a person beat the edge with a large enough bank roll?"
Beating the house needs a huge bankroll. Way higher than that lucky guy has used to win on Bitvest.
Congrats to him/her though. This is pure luck indeed Smiley.

I don't gamble most of the time but I didn't hear any news that a house has been beaten by a single gambler or at least a group of gamblers.

This was in 2016, really nice winning streak. But we don't know how much money he lost first before winning like this.

Did anyone saw this gambler again? Would be nice to know if he kept winning like this or if it was just a one time thing.
5465  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Problem Gambling in the wake of covid-19 on: September 07, 2020, 07:04:46 PM

During a pandemic, I think people should consider the amount of money they spend on gambling. Due to the unstable economic situation it is not appropriate to spend a lot of money on gambling and it can cause problem.

We all know that only physical gambling is subject to a visit ban during the pandemic and we are not restricted from online gambling. However, due to a narrow economy, loss of jobs, etc, all gambler have to control their spending so that they dont add other problem to their life. Stress is certain, gambling is a place of escape for some of them, but they still need to have control.

I agree with you, the pandemic is bad for all of us. Job security is definitely a key factor for me in how much I am willing to use for playing poker and gambling each month. If things are getting worse at work, I would definitely have to cut back on my monthly allowance.

Because of the ban on physical casinos I find myself definitely using more online gambling than before. Which is also the case because I see more promotions happening than last year. Probably due to more and more casinos coming into the online market.

5467  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Does MEDIA affect you? A poll on: September 07, 2020, 03:07:14 PM
I usually get the info from sites and from online groups. I found out I feel a lot better when I go on vacation and dont watch any news so I started avoiding them.

I find it very hard to avoid the news because its every where. When being online I see pop ups so many times about some useless news and when I am bored I click on them too many times. I know it's bad because once you click on those links you will always get more recommendations. For me it's impossible to live without media.
5468  Other / Off-topic / Re: What kind of life do you think is perfect? on: September 07, 2020, 02:32:36 PM
For me the best life is a balanced life, spending time between work and family. Having a good job with a decent income is very important, but so is health and happiness. All the money in the world would not be enough if you had no one to enjoy it with.
5469  Economy / Economics / Re: The debt based Economy on: September 07, 2020, 02:29:00 PM
Debt based economy is not how you create money, we did used gold standard for the longest time and that was fine, there was no problem with it until we decided not to and suddenly world owns tens of trillions of dollars in debt, how is that better?

New money is not even needed to be printed, if you see rich getting so rich that they have all the money and hundreds of millions of people are too poor because all the money is at the rich, that means you just need to tax the rich a lot higher, and I mean A LOT higher and give that money to small business' and people, that way you will not be required to watch rich people destroying poor people. Sure stock market could crash and go down for a while until they realize they can't own all the money but that will be readjusted eventually.

Unfortunately there is not enough Gold out there to insure all the money in the world. If all currencies would be based on Gold again the gold price would dictate any movement in the currencies. Interest rates in countries would not be so important anymore and a country could not just print money to support their own economy. And if only 1 country would return to the gold standard it could be exploited by other countries. We must trust now the government in their ability to pay the debt. Or we move into crypto currencies and be more independent and secure than when using Fiat.
5470  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Did Bill Gates create Corona Virus (Covid-19) ? on: September 07, 2020, 09:00:41 AM
There is no way bill Gates created corona virus. Honestly, why would he? There is no real Motiv in doing so. He worked so long with his foundation to get rid of polio on Africa, which they actually succeed in this year. That he would never spread a deadly virus by himself.

I am Bill Gates is already among the richest people on the earth, every one is using Windows and will do so in the future. If the virus would only infect Linux users I would maybe believe you. But why attack your own consumers?
5471  Other / Off-topic / Re: What i say about aliens :P on: September 07, 2020, 08:41:09 AM
Sounds like reincarnation but i personally think aliens exist. On the topic of reincarnation it would be cool and i would love to see what happens when we die but obviously i cant because welp... id be dead lmfaoo.

I agree, there must aliens somewhere out there. The universe is so big with so many stars and galaxies out there that we just can't be alone. But the size of the universe is also the reason why we are very unlikely to ever meet them. If takes millions of tears for light to reach our planet, how can we ever establish contact? Even if aliens exist right now somewhere in the universe and broadcast a signal into the universe, we would know they exist for millions of years to come.
5472  Economy / Economics / Re: Will bailouts become more frequent? on: September 07, 2020, 08:36:00 AM
You have to eleborate , how was wall street bailed out?

Some companies were bailed out , some stimulus checks were given to pepole. I dont see how this is wall street bailout.

It wasn't, not yet. Banks were well capitalized heading into this, sitting on record amounts of cash. However, there are millions of people currently missing mortgage payments and defaulting on credit cards and other loans as we speak. It's hard to say how quickly those cash reserves will be eaten through in some of the darker economic scenarios.

Remember, when the housing crisis hit in 2007, it took a year before the bottom completely fell out and Congress passed the TARP bailout. The same thing could happen this time around. Maybe 2021 will be the year of the bank bailouts.

The bailing out during the corona crisis happened much fast than the 2007/2008 housing crisis because the lock down hit the real economy immediately. Almost all major governments injected billions into their economy. Some of this money came in form as loans, others as equity and some as substitute for keeping on workers. In Europe for example national governmente became stock holder in all of the big airlines over night. Also pharmaceutical companies received state aid to try and avoid selling out of corona vaccines.
5473  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Card counting in black jack on: September 07, 2020, 08:11:28 AM
If you enjoy reading I would recommend the old - but still accurate book by Edward Thorp ("Beat the Dealer: A Winning Strategy for the Game of Twenty-one") This guy is a genius in gambling and also investing.

The thing with counting cards is that is only working in a physical casino with multiple decks. Such strategies don't work online.

The edge of the casino in black jack comes from the fact that you are getting your cards before the dealer does. So if you go above 21 and go bust you lose and the round is over. Theoretical the casino could also go bust this round but it doesn't come to that since you already lost. With counting cards you are trying to get a deck with a lot of valu 10 cards, so your chances of getting 21 or 20 is much higher.

Ignore the bear (market), beer (drink) isn't best for your health.
Don't panic and sell off your asset, the whales are waiting patience to steal them from you. Stay safe.

Thanks for your great work Brainboss, as always.

You are absolutely right, we shouldn't be panicing at the moment. Prices might be dropping but let's not lose our heads. Most of us are here for the long run. Better to hold our coins and sit this sell off out.
5475  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Is there a need to improve basic education? on: September 07, 2020, 07:19:45 AM
Malcolm S. Forbes is stated, "The purpose of education is to replace an empty mind with an open one".
what do you think about our education system?

The education system should always be improved. Humans learn all the time, we have new technology advancement every year, new science break thoughs also. We should try to include all the new things we learn in the education. I mean everyone will see a huge difference, when looking at a basic education text book  from the 60s, 80s and today. We should always go with the time as there always new things we could learn or understand better.
5476  Other / Off-topic / Re: Which social media do you prefer? on: September 07, 2020, 07:05:29 AM
I stopped using most of social media a year ago. The only one I still sometimes use is Instagram. Facebook has so many ads and random news poping up that I just couldn't stand it anymore. Also most people on facebook I see maybe a few times a year and barely talk anyways. The pictures on Instagram are usually better.
5477  Economy / Economics / Re: 2020 Money is king Again Good news on: September 07, 2020, 06:55:03 AM
Money is king for now because there is a crash in the investment sector all over the world but you are not supposed to hold it as money for longer term because the lost value will get recover if you invest the cash the value will grow but if you keep it as fiat itself the value will depreciate due to inflation and in some countries the inflation is about to hit double digit due to the economic crashes due to covid 19.

In case of a crash there other asset classes which still outperform cash, so Cash might be the Prince, not the King in my opinion. If you look at precious commodities like Gold you will see that they increased a lot in value during past crisis. Where as cash usually just loses value due to inflation. For cash to be good in a crisis you would want to invest into other asset classes at the lowest point. But there you have the timing issue. No one knows for sure when the pandemic will be over.
5478  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you believe in crypto ratings? on: September 06, 2020, 07:48:40 PM
I don't believe in any kind of rating site for new projects because they are a third party broker group where they can give high rating to scam project due to money. I have enough experience to search for a good project so it is foolish for me to take help from rating site. So i will never accept a rating site for my invest.

I agree with you that the risk of a rating site having a personal agenda is there. We don't know what kind of agreements are being made behind the scenes to provide advertisement for a special alt coin.

However, a rating site always trys to be independent. So if there would be a big story of a rating site promoting a coin which turns out be a hoax, that would ruin their trust factor.

Ratings can be a good indicator how risky a coin is, but we should always do our own research and not just trust blindly a rating.
5479  Other / Off-topic / Re: The Earth is a flat disc on: September 06, 2020, 05:40:43 PM
Many of us know that the Earth is a flat disc.  Maybe some still think it is a cube or other shape.  A good way to realize this is to use our intuition and common sense.  Some people need to just go outside and walk around and see for themselves.  We live in a modern age of technology where people should know the true shape of the planet they live on.  The Earth is undeniably a flat planet.

Not sure who you want to trigger with this, but what's the point? Does it really matter in your daily life if its flat or round? Or do you just want to argue with people for the fun of it?

There are plenty of life streams from iss.,spacex or NASA.

Looks pretty round to me.

And if it's flat, why not go till the end and send a picture?
5480  Economy / Economics / Re: Will India be more progressive in the coming years? on: September 06, 2020, 05:27:17 PM
India is investing a lot in education and is already leading in some sectors of engineering. The domination of Indian tech companies will likely continue in the near future. But there are also bad trends happening in India right now. It seems very likely that India will be affected the most of corona. We can't know how long this pandemic is going to last but the negative effects are felt in India especially hard.
