5481  Other / Meta / Good to delete post or not on: February 27, 2021, 11:31:50 PM
I have noticed some people will strike out a particular misinformation on their post while some people will remove it entirely in a way no one can see it again. Also I noticed some posts that you will see in five minutes ago will be deleted, I believe some of the deleted posts are not from moderators but from account owners. There are some things that do pop up to my mind.

I do feel like I cheat if I posted already and another user posted under my post which make my post irrelevant, I think at times that if I delete the post that I cheat, that it ought not to be like that, but also sometimes it can lead to misinformation if it is not deleted. What do you suggest:

If some of the posts contain the misinformation, I can just strike the wrong part out. But in this case can I just edit it without need to strike it out but erase it completely?

Also if all contents in the post are wrong, should it be left not deleted or deleted for people not to read it at all?

Note: Quoted posts are not included and they should not be deleted and if corrected, the misinformation should be striked out.

The fee you have to set for the child transaction in order to accelerate its ancestor/s depends on few factors. Basically, it depends on the size of all involved transactions, the fees the ancestors are already paying and how much you need to add to incentivize miners to prioritize your transactions.
Total agree with you, just to show how RBF can save more fee to be paid than CPFP. Two transactions will be paid for in CPFP unlike RBF. But part of the fee paid are the low fee which not get the transaction confirmed and also new fee in addition that will get the two transaction confirmed at ones.

Never mind to bring this up here, but I think it is very important as some Nigerians are concerned, make we please double our hustle. I do not know how true this is, but we need to increase the quality of the way we post.

5484  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The Best Way to Research About Altcoins. on: February 26, 2021, 06:54:46 AM
1. What is the best process to conduct a research about Altcoins to invest in?
Check the price of the altcoins of interest, check the price the altcoins was at when it was created and check the whole history of the coins. Read news and follow day to day trends and make sure you read possible things that can affect the price.

2. Based on your opinion, what are the top 5 Altcoins i need to focused on and probably invest in?
Do not invest on shitcoins or dead coins, but you need to make the analysis yourself to know the best coins to invest on. As for me

1. Bitcoin
2. Ethereum
3. Litecoin
4. Binance coin
5. Neo
5485  Other / Beginners & Help / Features of wallets to be called reputable wallets on: February 25, 2021, 11:37:21 AM
The first wallet which is bitcoin core was created in a way to fulfill how other wallets should be created aside from being full client that SPV wallets can not support but have to depend and connect to third party server to sychronize the wallet with the blockchain. Bitcoin core connects and runs from nodes to nodes. This makes full client wallets to be the best privacy wallet. Another good wallet that serves for privacy purpose in a way it coinjoins transactions and make bitcoin transactions mixed with other ones to avoid tracking of addresses is called wasabi wallet, this wallet increase privacy. Those two wallets above are very important and their functions should be known, but the reason people are not using bitcoin core is the over 300 gigabyte of data needed to download the full blockchain while people prefer not to run the pruned version but the full client. I will focus more on simplified payment verification (SPV) wallets because they are the ones used by people commonly today.

SPV wallets
This are not full client that run from nodes to nodes, but depends on central server to synchronize the blockchain, they are the common wallets we are using today. When bitcoin and crypto was at their earlier age, most SPV wallets are having the best feature of wallets, but later, there are many more modifications that makes many wallets not to be good, examples are some open source wallets that gone close source. Which is the reason I have to list the features good wallets should have.

1. Good wallets should be open source wallets, if close source, you will not know the code used to make the wallet working, you will not know if the wallet have codes that can steal from you or that can attack your device. The close source can be good today, but later can have malware inputted.

2. Self custody, these are noncustodial wallets, some wallet are not, they are custodial, it means you do not have the private key, it mean you do not have complete control over your coins. There are many cases the third party that gives custodial wallet will block someone's account in a way the person will not be able to access it. Also the third party have the private key which can be used to control your coin.

3. Good wallet should support segwit addresses, otherwise you will waste funds paying high fee if using legacy wallets that do not support segwit. There are many people wasting bitcoin on fee because they are using legacy wallet that do not support segwit. Any wallet that do not uograde to segwit should not be used.

4. Coin control, it may not be necessary, but also useful as you can select the address you want to spend from.

5. Wallets that support RBF, it means replace by fee, latest wallets should support this to help in case of stuck transactiyon in a way the fee will be increased to make the transaction get confirmed in time. On some wallets that do not support RBF, the person will have no option than to use CPFP which the fee that will be needed will be higher (multiply by two), may not be possible if the receiver can not spend unconfirmed transactions also if the sender do not have bitcoin change address while sending.

Ignorance makes people to use a wallet that pays high fee when there are good wallets like electrum that support segwit. You can use any wallet you like, but know that not all wallet that people say are reputable are reputable, many are close source, many do not support segwit, most do not support RBFwhich are very important.
5486  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2020/2021 on: February 24, 2021, 04:36:53 PM
The score ended 3 0 for leeds it was not a surprise for me since southonhampton are not able to win for 8 machtes in the premiere league on the otherhand leeds are bipolar a win or a loss for them in the last games and they won against leicester away so they are a though team.
Anyone that take win for Southampton this time will only be at big loss, in the last 8 matches, no win, only 2 draw and lost the rest which means they lost 6 matches. In fact they are not playing good at all. It will not be good if they are too relaxed because the clubs below them aside West Bromwich Albion and Sheffield United can pickup more than expected, if this so, very possible for Southampton to relagate, the bad chance of relegation is slim but possible if Southampton do not pickup.
5487  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Wallet fee in sat/vbyte, blockchain in sat/byte question on: February 24, 2021, 01:08:33 PM
...

...
Thanks for the answers. Please one more question..

I have already known the difference very well now, but what if I transfer from legacy to legacy addreses which is a raw transaction, the sat/byte will be equal to sat/vbyte? Which will be the indication that no fee is reduced.
5488  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Wallet fee in sat/vbyte, blockchain in sat/byte question on: February 24, 2021, 12:39:09 PM
Blockchain.com uses raw size for the satoshis/byte and is thus inaccurate. You should be looking at the size/WU(Weight unit) for a better representation of the fees. Miners will usually consider fee rates in terms of vbyte and not it's size. Your transaction will stand a chance to get included once the 1vMB from tip of mempool falls to 5sat/vbyte and below.
I later used blockchair.com

I mean, if miners want to include it to a block, will they use /vbyte or /byte?

Edited: Okay, I have gotten you, that means my transaction will be confirmed right from 5 sat/vbyte.
5489  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Wallet fee in sat/vbyte, blockchain in sat/byte question on: February 24, 2021, 12:26:37 PM
I am using a wallet that support bech32 addresses, I transfered bitcoin to a friend few days ago, though not yet confirmed till now, but I was surprised when I tracked the transaction on blockchain, the fee I saw was 2.93 sat/byte on blockchain, but I used 5 sat/vbytes on my wallet and the address is segwit bech32.

I know that using segwit will reduce the fee of about 42% if compared to raw transactions of legacy addresses. I just want to be sure, if miners are accepting 5 sat/byte, that means my transaction will also be accepted and confirmed or the mempool will still need to be reduced to 2.93 sat/byte before miners will accept it?
5490  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin can't be used for transactions? on: February 24, 2021, 11:04:27 AM
From what I've read, Bitcoin now charges high transaction fee and long transaction wait time so it can't presently be used:
If you pay high fee, the wait time will not be long, low fee makes waiting time long.

a) for a conversion from Bitcoin to cash?
It is not much at all, it takes little cost, but if you do not want to pay anything at all for this, you can use p2p.

b) purchases using Bitcoin? Huh
You can also use p2p but the purchase fee is not much but also in percentage.

Well then can Bitcoin remain at 50k in the future even with a large number of bitcoin users or will it go down in price with time?
Because now they say a small transfer of say $200 can cost around $30 in transaction fee...so that can't be useful if Bitcoin remains at 50k in the future. Lips sealed
Do not get that wrongly, transaction fee is not about the amount you are sending, it depends on the weight of the transaction. If $5 can get a transaction of $50 of bech32 address confirmed in less than 15 minutes, also it will get bech32 address having $1 million worth of bitcoin transaction confirmed at the same less than 15 minutes, provided, both address have the same inputs and outputs.
5491  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2020/2021 on: February 24, 2021, 08:11:12 AM
I think Fulham have bigger chance than Newcastle United keep holding on primer league this season because almost many match with bigger club always give different predicting, they can win with big club like Everton and many other club. But still waiting for next week can Fulham get three points and keep large chance position on Primer league or have back again to championship.
Newcastle not playing good, also Fulham not playing good, but Fulfam last matches makes it predictable to take Newcastle position and escape relegation, but even if Fulham are playing good now, they may still play otherwise, I just do not trust its game and Newcastle game. I better just leave this until it will be clearer who will be relegated or not, but as for now, no one between both is certain.
5492  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: When is the right time to gamble on football. on: February 23, 2021, 05:41:44 PM
What I observe in football betting is that betting on the favorite teams is a mistake, because the profit returns are low and the weakest team will play defensively, pushing the game for a draw hoping to goal if with the few disponible chances.
There is nothing bad to bet on favorite team, it depends on the bet type you take, it can be win/draw/loss, it can be over/under 2.5, it can be anything. What is just there is to never attach emotion to betting and always having the right mind to bet.
5493  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum crash on Android on: February 23, 2021, 09:21:48 AM
Have tried both version from the site as well as from Google Play. It doesn't even run now. Previously, it would run for a couple of days or so before crashing. Also want to add that I have Trust wallet, metamask and Blockstream's green wallets installed with no issues.
I think reiterate my advice will worth it, maybe it can be as a result Samsung Knox, but I am not exactly sure. It is not also good to have a single wallet on two or more devices. Having it on only one device is better. If you have it on more device, the security is already getting wicker because malware can be from anywhere, I believe you will use one of these device very well for browsing, which can be your phone. Having the electrum on computer is better for security reasons, you will also experience the best of electrum from computer not phone.
5494  Economy / Gambling discussion / When is the right time to gamble on football. on: February 23, 2021, 09:13:59 AM
Few people realize gambling should be for fun, but many other people think it can be a profession, be it for fun or profession, experience is the best teacher to let individual know their fate if to make gambling as an entertainment or studying all necessary information to make it a profession. Gambling is as good as fun for those that sees it that way, people that do not linked it to their emotions being controlled by gambling and always set the right mind for it. Thinking about gambling as profession can make it develop poor mindset which can in a short time turn all you have had into what can be sold and remaining broke.

This article is about how someone can fall victim of poor mind while gambling, I will focus on what could have set poor mind alive in people whole gambling, most people are thinking to earn more than what may not be possible. That is why you will see people accumulating games so they can bet it and use just $50 to be able to win $10000. This kind of occurrence has happened before but out of 100% people that will do it, less than 0.001% or less have won this before. Which means lowest amount should be staked for such.

There are times when not to bet and there are times to bet, in my opinion, betting should be for fun, even if you analyse the winner rightly but anything can go wrong. There is one thing I know about football betting which makes me like it, it is analysable but does not yet guarantee winning. Let us look at this analyses.

1. If a club is strong, likely the match will be won by them
2.  Checking their last five matches, if solid, likely they will win
3. Checking the whole history of the season to know if the club is also strong in the season
4. Also check the history head to head of the clubs playing, there are some small clubs that do win or draw with big clubs at some particular period.
5. Checking the history of over and under 2.5 scores and if both teams do score.
6. Checking if the strong players are not excluded in a match to start
7. Also following your instincts

These are some ways to analyse which club will win, but strong clubs do have lower odds, while choosing the lower odds and yet not win but lose. The more who thinks he is professional play bet, the more likely chance he will lose, only few bet should be played. I am thinking of how gambling should be, these are what I found out.

1. Gambling with quality mind
2. Not gambling to look for means of earning
3. Not using high amount to gamble, but small amount that can be lost and never thing about
4. The more you gamble, poor mind develop and resulting to loss
5. If you have won, leave. If you don't, you can lose all you won
6. Look for work rather than depending on gambling but to be taken as fun not a necessity.
7. Gamble for fun, not as profession
8. Do not concentrate on gambling

Should gambling be taken as fun or as a profession? I chose fun because gambling is not predictable.
5495  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum crash on Android on: February 22, 2021, 07:15:35 PM
...
You have electrum on computer already, why having it on phone again. Which means you have one online wallet on two device, this will reduce the security. I will advice you to operate the wallet on one device, operating it on computer is the best.

...
The little review I know about Samsung Knox is that it is a military defense grade secure system that protects against malware and other things that can lead to attacks. If a antivirus can disturb the installation of electrum, hope Samsung Knox can not?
5496  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Stop Loss influence in massive dump on: February 22, 2021, 05:33:05 PM
Stop loss order is very important for someone not to lose much during abrupt price drop. I think this question is like saying can fire burn a house? Yes fire can burn a house. Stop loss will not do anything than price drop. With this current price drop, traders are mostly responsible for it, many of the trader have learned how stop loss is very important and do not play with it. That is why the price will drop from one stop loss set to another, but at that point, it is also in conjunction with people selling also without stop loss. Stop loss order and selling market order do responsible for price drop both together.
5497  Economy / Economics / Re: COIN PRICES CRASHING!!! SELL BITCOIN NOW!!!! on: February 22, 2021, 04:29:45 PM
That will be a very long sleep, bitcoin that was at a price above $58,000 before suddenly crashed to a price above $55000 and then later crashed to a price above $53000 which is currently at $53600. This can be the support level as it has been hours now since it was at this price. Even if it crashes the more, likely not to decrease below $50000 as there will be a strong support at this level.
5498  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Why do BTC fees vary so much? on: February 22, 2021, 02:07:34 PM
How long between two  transactions? If it is long, mempool can be changed and fee will be higher or lower.
Mempool is not constant at all, it is always changing every seconds to minutes. Maybe you are using some fee estimators that are not well designed, mempool can be 50 sat/vbyte now and changed to 70 sat/vbytes in just 10 seconds and increase or decrease in just next 5 seconds. What I am trying to tell you is that it is not that mempool is changing for long time but congestion that makes it not to decrease to the feerate set by low fee payers but yet still always changing and fluctuating with certain range when congested but not decrease below certain range that can get low fee transactions confirmed.
If mempool is static, transaction fee on bitcoin network in satoshi/vbyte unit will be static.

Good fee estimators are able to give estimated fee that have less higher or lower fees than the best and cheapest fee to use with same waiting time. All estimators are not accurate 100%.

I don't understand why do you need to explain my post.  Huh
You still did not get my point, in every second, mempool can be changing feerates, not if it is long as you mentioned above. You are right that mempool is not static, but also not fluctuating over long time only but everytime.

According to a research in the past, that Tron suffered from a critical bug that could have crashed its entire blockchain in 2019 but it was a research and proper solutions were made. I have never heard Tron blockchain suffered an attack before, it is also safe but ethereum blockchain is stronger but not that Tron blockchain is not strong, it has not being compromised before.
5500  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: too many addresses in each transaction on: February 22, 2021, 01:34:42 PM
Transactiona with many inputs can even result to reducing privacy as it can lead to many addresses linked to a single transaction, that is not mixing in any way. The only way to mix bitcoin are coinjoin and using a mixer or some people will also send bitcoin to anonymous coins like monero and send it back to bitcoin. One non recommended way are exchanges, but I do not count it as mixing because exchanges are the worst and can be tracked or frezed by the exchange.
