5481  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Artificial Intelligence Engine App predicts price movements on: March 09, 2021, 07:44:42 AM
The app will send you a alert to buy or sell before major price movements before they happen.
What about normal price trends like daily price forecast when there will not be major price move but yet the price will increase in a way day traders can gain.

Also I will still have to tell new traders that they can not be successful in trading until they learn, expert traders can make use of all these things like bots but they primarily depends on the analyses which they make themselves and the patience they have.
5482  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Kucoin advice on: March 09, 2021, 07:38:26 AM
There's some really interesting coins on there I simply cannot find on the other exchanges, and I just can't afford the gas on Uniswap. Any advice is greatly appreciated!
Uniswap is good for holders and people that just want to convert from one coin to another, but for main trading like day trading, the best option you have is to make use of are custodial exchanges. If you are an US, you will need to still provide capital gain and pay the tax which will be good. Trading on noncustodial exchanges can make you pseudonymous and anonymous in some cases.

5484  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: ETH was sucsses sending but no show on my wallet balance on: March 08, 2021, 06:34:14 PM
I doubt Binance will send his ETH to another unverified ETH address. It could be a typo for sure, but it might be a wallet problem as Bep mentioned above.

OP should double-check the address and his seed, if it all matches up then the wallet might be the culprit. Assuming the tx has no problem at all.
That is why I said he should check his transaction hash, although I have heard of such issue before if sending to an exchange in a way you will input the right address but will not reflect on the exchange after the transaction has been confirmed already, but that is deposited. In the case of withdrawal, I have never heard of the issue before, most like the person sent the ethereum to a wrong address.
5485  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Adding passphrase to trezor is essential on: March 08, 2021, 06:18:46 PM
Are there the same vulnerabilities for the ledger?
Ledger nano make use of secure element, this makes this impossible, but all hardware wallets I have browsed about that make use of secure element are all close source.

Doesn't exist or we don't know about it - these are completely different things.
The zero day market is actively working, and we will learn about many of the vulnerabilities of iPhones in a year or more.
For greater security, it is probably better to use a multisignature wallet from a ledger and trezor.
This will be very inconvenient, but for long-term hodling, a combination of different protection options would be an excellent option.
Multisig wallet has been the best even for software wallet, but it comes with inconveniences, about hardware wallet, the inconveniences will be more as more trezor will be needed to create the multisig. But it is even better to create multisig on online wallets as it is also safe if it is proerly created. If I want to use multisig, I will go for electrum multisig which is safe enough.
5486  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: ETH was sucsses sending but no show on my wallet balance on: March 08, 2021, 09:25:53 AM
This is not about bitcoin transaction, you created this on the wrong board, move to Altcoins discussion.

Binance make use of around $10 worth of ethereum at recent ethereum price to process transaction, will will get the transaction confirmed as earliest as possible, you will have seen the ethereum on your wallet not more than some minutes after you sent it from binance.

What you will do now, go to binance, go to check the withdrawal history, click on the transaction, you will see the txid which you can be able to use to track the transaction, among the addresses seen on blockchain explorer, check if your address is among.
5487  Economy / Exchanges / Re: What are your Exchange preferences on: March 08, 2021, 09:05:35 AM
What would be a good exchange mobile app to use for trading coins?
Coinbase, coinbase pro
Or blockchain, blockchain exchange
Or would you recommend something else?
Blockchain is not a trading app, it is a wallet, but can be used for some trading and coin purchase but not an exchange. Out of all you mentioned, for exchanges, only Coinbase pro is valid. Only UK and American citizens are most commonly using this exchange, we that are not from such country make use of binance and some others, some can make use of others, but I have found binance to be a perfect exchange to use.
5488  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Adding passphrase to trezor is essential on: March 08, 2021, 08:29:18 AM
I have being looking for a good hardware wallet, I was able to know airgapped wallets are just the best, but the ease of transaction signing can be difficult but good for holding. I was looking for some hardware wallets online. I like ledger nano but I found out the secure element used in seed phrase generation and storage is close source, that automatically means ledger nano is close source. Ledger nano may be good, but I want things to remain standard, like everything about bitcoin is built with open source codes included bitcoin core which other wallets should follow.

About trezor, it has good reputation and it is open source, but I saw some few challenges about the wallet and I will like us to discuss about it to know if it is true or not true. I watched a YouTube video about how a stolen trezor can be compromised.

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=6pKuHYwrGkU

Is it true stolen trezor seed phrase can be known with this method of extraction in the video above?

Though trezor is said to be safe is if passphrase is included, in this way the private key can not be known as the passphrase can not be bruth forced the way the seed was, also because passphrase will give rise to another seed, privatele, and other kyes and addresses.
5489  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Best wallet on: March 08, 2021, 08:07:58 AM
You made newbies fear of bitcoin and bitcoin wallet when you shown your knowledge and get them lost with many features and many things to consider for a wallet.
There is nothing like ease about wallets, easy wallets like close source and/or custodial should not be used, there is nothing hard to learn, if newbies can not learn about wallet, he should not use wallet, anything can happen while using wallet, a reason for newbies to be well acquainted about wallets before using one.

Depends on what a person prefer, I might say best wallet is the one convenient and easy to use ofc a secure too while other will say different.
Newbies must follow standards, they can end up losing their coins, there are many wallets that are easy today to use, but the more the ease the more they are introducing ways future wallet will not be good as manipution will continue. Wallets should be open source and noncustodial, all others are not recommended in any way, nothing like ease in using wallet, there are standards to follow.
5490  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: paper wallet on: March 08, 2021, 08:00:53 AM
Many will argue (and I among them) that a "paper wallet" is the safest, for all time.  By definition the term implies that the secret key or backup mnemonic phrase is only stored on paper, or other archival media, and not any digital device.  This makes it absolutely impervious to hacks.  As long as the backup is stored safely and securely, your funds are equally safe and secure.
How about using the broad term, airgapped wallet, paper wallet is just one of the safest while some users can have an airgapped device, if 100% airgapped, it is also as safe as paper wallet. Also one wallet as cold storage and the other as watch only like cold electrum wallet is also one of the safest which is also most convenient airgapped to use. It depends on the wallet, not only paper wallets are safest.

5492  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: 24 word seed question : is splitting it in half dangerous? on: March 07, 2021, 06:54:54 PM
If I have a 24 word seed, and I split it into 2 - 12 and 12
If an attacker somehow finds either the first 12 words or the 2nd 12 words, is there anyway they can use that to easily derive/find the second 12 words? or am I as safe as If I simply had a 12 word seed (which many wallets use?)
The chances that hackers can brute force the whole seed phrase from just twelve seed phrase is possible with powerful computional algorithmic tools, very possible tools like btcrecover can be able to do it with high computational power. It is not good to split your seed phrase, instead you can use shamir sharing for such in a way the seed phrase can be perfectly divided and splitted into secrets which is best for this.
5493  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Which crypto do you expect to increase by 10000% in the next couple of years on: March 07, 2021, 06:43:40 PM
People are looking for which cryptocurrency will replace Bitcoin.
Ethereum remain the best to, but it will never happen in reality, even if it will happen, it will take decades or centuries, but with the look of things, it can never happen, bitcoin will remain the strongest cryptocurrency. About upcoming cryptocurrencies to increase 10000%, in my opinion I think it is not possible, that range is too much, while there are thousands of cryptocurrencies that will not let investors and traders to be attracted to a coin such like that.
5494  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin balance on exchanges reached a 2-year low on: March 07, 2021, 06:36:25 PM
But I'm hoping you're correct, because low supply on exchanges (and assuming a constant or increasing demand) should mean a boost in price.  You just never know, though.  Demand could slump and a lot of individual sellers could drive the price down if they decide to sell all at once.  Somehow I don't see that happening anytime soon, because the vibe I'm getting from the market is extremely bullish.

Damn good year for bitcoin so far, I must say.  Let's hope it continues.
That is exactly what is happening, no downtrend this time, bitcoin price will either increase or just remain good, but I really valid your point, if any institution withdraw large percentage of bitcoin, panic and fomo seller will full the market in no time, thereby selling bitcoin, which can result to downtrend price. This increment continues but as the calm will also be the storm, it can not continue like this, there will be some bad months for bitcoin, but over long time, the price will always increase more.
5495  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Best wallet on: March 07, 2021, 06:07:34 PM
However, I will suggest buying a hardware wallet if you can afford it. Otherwise, Electrum is the best option for you. But you can't use it for storing multi coins. But on a hardware wallet, you can store multi coins securely. So choose according to your needs. Keep in mind, wallets aren't secure unless you can secure wallet credentials.
I will advice hardware wallet to be used too, especially for cold storage in a way private key not connected online but offline. One other thing I like about hardware wallets is the number of cryptocurrencies recommended ones are supporting, like the trezor and ledger nano that support thousands of cryptocurrencies. But hardware wallets can be open source and close source too, I will prefer the open source ones like trezor.
5496  Economy / Economics / Re: Am I too late to Bitcoin? on: March 07, 2021, 02:36:08 PM
If the price of gold can be $11 trillion, and with the population of people in the world, we will know that bitcoin is still at its early stage, it is never late to get started and invest. Bitcoin will have critics but that will not hinder anything, as bitcoin was called scam and ponzi in its early ages, those that trusted the open source decentralized coin and invested have now seen how important bitcoin is to any other asset. And to the question, it is yet never too late to invest in bitcoin.
5497  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: POLL: Have You Ever Used the Lightning Network? on: March 07, 2021, 11:30:46 AM
I have not used lightning network, the reasons are:

1. It requires miners fee which is the fee require for bitcoin transaction confirmation. To open and close a channel, it requires fee.
2. I have only little bitcoin
3. No service I have used that demand for lightning network payment
4. I still hear of some vulnerabilities about it which are fixed already
5. People I am sending to are not requesting for lightning network yet
6. Shops around me not supporting it

If lightning has been common and known and more used for transactions and if I have enough bitcoin, I will make use of lightning network.
5498  Other / Meta / Re: YubiKey optional Bitcointalk login on: March 06, 2021, 09:25:06 PM
I think there are many members on this forum, ranked members since long time ago and yet their account not hacked, people that are fearing can pm them to help on how to safeguard their accounts. If you follow the precaution and safety measures, your bitcointalk account will not be hacked. I believe admin would have looked into this issue and see this not needed. Instead, enable 2fa on your email, check the IP log of your bitcointalk account daily before you post, make sure you stake your address already for evidence in case of hacked account. With this I think you have nothing to be worried about, also use a very strong password, not 123 or abc password.
5499  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Polkadot (DOT) Coin Price Prediction ।। Grow Up DOT Price Very Soon..... on: March 06, 2021, 08:53:50 PM
I hope this coins(Polkadot) price will be $100+ within next 6 month...
I like Polkadot for one thing, its marketcap is somehow resembling its price but though different, the price now at $32 with the marketcap of $30.20. if Polkadot will reach $100, that means its marketcap will be around $100 billion to $110 billion. In that case, there will be a strong bull run that can take its price further to such extent, I believe it will happen one day, but it can be more than six month if bitcoin is not really getting attention from institutions and ranging its price around $45000 to $60000. As the cryptocurrencies do follow bitcoin price, even bitcoin getting to $100000 may not still result to Polkadot getting to $100, and of which it is not certain bitcoin will increase that much until long time. This is just my opinion but the market can be different.
5500  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Why P2P exchange is good and better on: March 06, 2021, 08:38:48 PM
There are plenty of ways to trade peer to peer without using a bank transfer, which would prevent this from happening. The most obvious way is with simple cash.
Cash would have been the best but it can come with its own demerits like physical harm. There are several reports about cash and physical attacks in crypto deals, humans can not be trusted. Using bank this way should not be bad, the bank do not know if the person that send the money bought bitcoin from you.
