5481  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Israel’s Attorney General Says Banks Can’t Refuse Services To Crypto Firms on: February 24, 2020, 04:32:31 AM
That's why this case is really very interesting, government agencies pushing banks to accept crypto, on the contrary we have seen nations out there doing the opposite. Central banks has the authority to order a full crypto ban or at least hard line stance and no one from any judiciary is fighting or at least opposing those views.

So can we say that we lauded the Attorney General's move here and telling banks to shut the f**k up, LOL.
5482  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Wilder vs. Fury II: The Rematch is On on: February 24, 2020, 04:03:15 AM
So there could be more money in a trilogy, Fury is a good seller and so is Wilder, and they could potentially earn more than the second fight.
So basically this is all about money, right?
Why not give us the best match up in the heavy weight division, yes Wilder lose and we've seen enough from him, he could still lose in another rematch, what about AJ vs  Fury? I think this fight is more interesting, isn't it?

I guess every sports today, including boxing is business. That's why fighters are looking for money fight. And remember that Fury is being promoted by Bob Arum, the same manager that guide Pacquiao, and earn tons of money from him.

Of course as boxing fans we wanted to see them fighting each other, specially in the top 5 or even 10.

I also like AJ vs Fury, but it is still up to the boxing promoters and managers to give their fighters the most money. Wilder could fight Whyte next or Andy Ruiz if he doesn't want to sign and fight Fury again.
5483  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Wilder vs. Fury II: The Rematch is On on: February 23, 2020, 11:56:48 PM
Officially, there is a rematch clause:

Quote
Deontay Wilder Has 30 Days To Exercise Clause For Fury Trilogy

There is a contractual clause for a trilogy fight - and Wilder has 30 days to exercise that clause - with the contest taking place in June or July.

https://www.boxingscene.com/deontay-wilder-30-days-exercise-clause-fury-trilogy--147028

So Wilder has a month to decide whether he wanted another part of Fury or not.

Regarding the gate attendance of the fight, it broke heavyweight records in Las Vegas

Quote
By the time they entered the ring Saturday night, MGM Grand Garden Arena was packed to capacity. Officials announced a sellout crowd of 15,816 and an MGM Resorts International official confirmed that the live gate for Wilder-Fury II broke the Nevada record for a heavyweight fight.

https://www.boxingscene.com/wilder-fury-rematch-broke-heavyweight-gate-record-vegas--147020

So there could be more money in a trilogy, Fury is a good seller and so is Wilder, and they could potentially earn more than the second fight.

Open 13 in Marseille, France already started. They've played already in going on the last 16.

My boy Tsitsipas won over Ymer 6-1, 6-3 he will be facing Pospisil in QF.

Medvedev the top seed, won a come from behind over Jannik Sinner 1-6, 6-1, 6-2.

Denis Shapovalov also won, against  Marin Cilic 6-4, 4-6, 6-2.
Just Quarter final line completed as Goffin ranked 3rd for this tournament lost in straight sets against Gerasimov look like we are going to have some more upsets in quarter finals as well because top seed players not in good shape and can lost matches very easily against low ranked players.

There also another big upset, as world number 5 seed and the top seed here, Medvedev lost to Giles Simon in just over 60 minutes. I mean Giles is in the mid 30's but it seems he still has the mentally to beat this young guys. I know this is just a second tier tournament but this is huge, specially that we have talked that the young generations of tennis players should step up.

He will be facing Auger-Aliassime, another favorite of mine, so let's see how the match will go. On the other side of the semis, it will be Tsitsipas vs Bublik, who defeated number 4 D. Shapovalov.

Another example of let down for young generations to show the old school boys, lmao. We may say that Medvedev is inconsistent now as he didn't carry his momentum from last year's performance.

Good for you, both of your favourite players, Auger-Aliassime and Tsitsipas won and they will be facing in the finals.

LOL, I'm glad both of them make it to the finals, and fortunately Tsitsipas won, 6-3, 6-4.

He was the defending championand indeed, he played very well in this tournament, not dropping any sets if I'm not mistaken. He admitted that he didn't crack under pressure (which we also observed from young players), but then again this is just a minor tournament. Congrats to my boy!!!  Grin
5485  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How to choose correct coin for Day Trading on: February 22, 2020, 04:35:28 AM
I am new to trading. But I know basics about how to buy, how to sell those. I have some experience too.

But I failed on choosing correct coin for which I do trading, where I get information about it. Which coin get good pumps, dumps today. Like those details is possible to known before.

Any one know pls share some tips for me.

There is no "secret sauce" for finding the correct coin because crypto asset is very volatile and it is based on speculation. That's why we have these so called 'whales' around, because they can manipulate the price anytime they want.

So it's a gamble, others may have to study the coin behind before they invest, but I think majority of day traders are into the sort of getting feel of the market sentiments of any coin, before they get in and then get out when everything is about to fall (dumping).

If I'm in your shoes, just study the market first, or better yet invest majority of your capital to Bitcoin and see how it goes for you.
5486  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: About Compulsive gambling. on: February 22, 2020, 04:11:46 AM
I suggest that if you feel that you are like that, you may visit some professionals to help you.

Did you know that the first sign of gambling addiction is that you refused to acknowledge it.

So how does someone will go and visit professionals and seek help immediately? It's a long process, maybe if you know someone that is turning into a addict then you need to sit down and talk to him, then some sort of intervention.

It will be really difficult, specially if that person is your family person, but you have to try it. You need to really make that person understand what he/she is going through before it's too late.

An old thread here, but it could still be useful to the OP

I guess it's really up to you, I mean what services you can provide to earn crypto in this community. If you have some expertise, then you can offer it to members who are looking for that specific skills. Might be creating a crypto related website, or even doing some SEO/SMM. You can open a thread here, (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=52.0) to that you will get some exposure. Goodluck.

Much Wow! Better bring in those talked about super quantum computers quickly for the sake of recovering these 6,000 bitcoins Cheesy This must be the second case of confirmed lost bitcoins. Most likely both ending up in a dumpster. Who would think anyone would actually hide his private keys in a fishing rod?

I will assume during that time he never taught that the price will be take big specially in 2017.

But the most interesting part is that he said that he is afraid of the hackers, so he decided to use paper wallets to hid his Bitcoin but didn't care of it, LOL, could the story be real? Hmm, we really don't know, maybe when we see the price hitting six figures in the future, we might see it move,  Wink
5490  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Resist all temptation to fomo on: February 20, 2020, 11:22:13 PM
Im sure we are all aware what fomo means.

Bitcoin has indeed ran a good race to over 10 000$ and it has pushed up the prices of altcoins simultaneously

Do a proper root research before getting into altcoins, resist all temptation to fomo.

Because when btc moons, the dead alts can rise momentarily only

NB, FOMO is not a good feeling during the bulls

Well FOMO is part of the trading journey I must say, but to totally resist it, one must to go the experience first and see it first hand and get a feel on how it is to be trapped inside because of your emotions and the only way to get out is to suffer a loss.

We all preach this in the community years ago, and yet people still fall for the trick, maybe they are greedy or haven't had the experience yet. But as sure as we become battle tested here and being mature enough to use our logical brains to make decisions, there could be people who are going to fall for it specially beginners.

Israel’s Attorney General Says Banks Can’t Refuse Services To Crypto Firms

Quote
Israel’s Attorney General refutes court’s blanket ban on crypto related transactions in banks and financial institutions. The AG disagrees with the two-year long blanket ban on banks dealing with crypto payments stating that “each case should be handled individually to check for any case of money laundering.”

https://coingape.com/israels-attorney-general-says-banks-cant-refuse-services-to-crypto-firms/

First time I heard that an Attorney General went against a ban coming from a financial institutions.

It's going to be interesting to see what the outcome of this, although Israel is not well known for being a supporter of crypto or least a big slice on the pie of the crypto related activities, it might be very fascinating to follow this one.
5492  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Litecoin will to the moon? Trust me!! invest now before you regret it. on: February 20, 2020, 10:07:17 PM
Litecoin has been in the market for so long already and consistent on the top top coins. Although it also suffered from the worsening market conditions in 2018-2019 still it is fairly strong in my opinion.

I have no doubt that when the imminent bull run starts again, Litecoin will have a good run and enjoy the positive effect of that run. It it just -80% from it's all time high, so its really possible that we can reach it again.
5493  Economy / Speculation / Re: Can bitcoin Cross $20,000 By the end of 2020? on: February 20, 2020, 09:42:09 PM
No! But maybe 15k will be it's highest and it will just play around it.
2021 though will be really promising. If we look at the charts, 1 year after the halving is needed before the value of bitcoin appreciates.
I think miners would not really feel the pain of the halved block reward yet within this year. Just my speculation.

So expect more dips and pumps in this year. It will be a crazy one.

Why not put a realistic goal of like $12,000-$15,000 this year and wait for 2021? Yeah, like that prediction, but people here wanted to see the price goes to $20,000 and relieved that 2017 again. Different time folks, as much as we wanted to see that price goes on parabolic rise, much better to wait and see what happens after the block halving.

It could reach more than $20,000 for all we know, however, it will really take some time and maturity again before we can see the next big bubble.

5495  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: US SEC: Initial Exchange Offerings (IEOs) – Investor Alert on: February 20, 2020, 08:34:18 PM
Several of my friends that actively trade cryptocurrencies in the United States still invest in IEOs despite some of the risks associated with this that are addressed pretty well in this SEC alert. There's still plenty of interest in cryptocurrencies as a whole in the U.S despite the tightening regulations that exchanges, traders and investers have to deal with, and even though I support cryptocurrencies and crypto fundraisers like IEOs and ICOs despite the fact that many of them do not succeed, this alert seems pretty fair. A lot of people don't do much investigating and/or research into IEOs and ICOs and crypto investments as a whole, and these alerts can open the eyes of such people, though I imagine they also do turn some people away from investing in crypto.

Thanks for confirming my belief that US citizens are wiling to take the risks associated with IEO/ICO. I always thought that they do, despite the fact that SEC is pretty much tight on them. Perhaps it is one reason that Binance put their US version because they know that US is a big market for everything related dto crypto. I guess non US citizens really needs to be aware that investing on them is really a risk.
5496  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / US SEC: Initial Exchange Offerings (IEOs) – Investor Alert on: February 19, 2020, 11:45:08 PM
It's already 2020 and still SEC is issuing alert warning.

Investor Alerts and Bulletins
Initial Exchange Offerings (IEOs) – Investor Alert

Jan. 14, 2020

The SEC’s Office of Investor Education and Advocacy is issuing this alert to urge investors to use caution before investing in so-called “initial exchange offerings” through online trading platforms.

Initial exchange offerings (IEOs) are a recent development in the rapidly evolving digital asset space.  IEOs are similar to initial coin offerings (ICOs) in that they are initial offerings of digital assets (e.g., coins or tokens) to raise capital.  However, IEOs are being touted as an innovation on ICOs because they are offered directly by online trading platforms on behalf of companies—usually for a fee—to provide immediate trading opportunities for the digital assets.  These online trading platforms, which are typically not registered with the SEC and which may improperly refer to themselves as “exchanges,” may also claim to perform due diligence or other quality assessments of the IEOs.

Be cautious if considering an investment in an IEO.  Claims of new technologies and financial products, such as those associated with digital asset offerings, and claims that IEOs are vetted by trading platforms, can be used improperly to entice investors with the false promise of high returns in a new investment space.  As described below, IEOs may be conducted in violation of the federal securities laws and lack many of the investor protections of registered and exempt securities offerings.

Source

Well they have been fighting ICO posing as securities and even sue many of them. Now the attention shifts to IEO, I'm not surprised at all though. US SEC is really getting tougher by the day and fighting this kind of fund raisers. I don't know, but it's going to be very difficult of US citizens to invest in any of them. And I don't know how US citizens in this community is investing or if they completely stop at all.
5497  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Experience facilitates better understanding on: February 19, 2020, 11:20:01 PM
Definitely, as you mature and gain the needed experience, then you can better understand how the system works. That's why I don't understand newbies who wanted to get a trading bot in the beginning. Because it wouldn't help them that much. It's better to go to this painful process of learning to really grasp what this is all about.

Of course you will loose money along the way, it's unavoidable, but at least you gain important lessons that can help you out in the future specially if you wanted to stay in the game longer.
5498  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: February 19, 2020, 11:00:24 PM
Unfortunately Clijsters lost to Muguruza in she first match come back, but she still have quality as Grand Slam Champions.
How long will she last? it would be very interesting if he could compete with Serena at the French Open.

Well this is her first match in eight years, and Muguruza is a runner-up in this years AO so it's a difficult match for Clijsters in her comeback trail.

Five double faults, but she level the game 4-4 in the second set and then saved two break points to push the second set to a tie-break. But it was not enough as Muguruza won 8-6.
Muguruza is 26 years old and Clijsters is 36 and when she left tennis 8 years back Muguruza enters in and reached no 1 rank now 16 which is still not bad and Clijsters is playing first match after 8 years big difference but as she played in second set we can expect some good from her as she can give shock to any top ranked player.

She used to be an elite athlete, you can see it in the second set. She still has that mentality but coming back after 8 long years and facing a young player who just came short of the championship in Australia, it will be really difficult for Kim Clijsters. She needs more time and she needs to win at least to get her confidence back.

Winning a match will surely give her confidence moving forward and like I said she does have the talent to win at least a smaller tournament but not sure about her competing for grand slams, I think them days are beyond her now but it is good to see a veteran come back and play. Time will tell if it was worth it for her or not.

Agree, winning a match will gave her the needed confidence but it will be very hard for her to win big tournaments. She should really target those smaller tournaments in the circuit and maybe won a couple. Winning Grand Slams is very different though and at her age it will take continuous matches and it might take a toll on her ageing body. Although women's side is very unpredictable, but the last breed of Grand Slam winners are all very young.
5499  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is the reason for Energi (NRG) going down on: February 19, 2020, 09:59:38 PM
Probably investors are looking for newer coins to pump in this mini bull run we have, and to be fair, there are also lots of good tokens out there that still in the worsening market conditions not just NRG.

Maybe we need to wait for the actual announcement of their hardware wallet support and their Gen 3.0 before we can see some pump again.
5500  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Wilder vs. Fury II: The Rematch is On on: February 19, 2020, 09:32:30 PM
The only competitive fighters outside of the two is Anthony Joshua, so we may want to see the winner fight AJ instead of another rematch in my opinion.

Well it used to be Wilder and Joshua before, I think there were talks of a fight between the two many years ago but because of money issues that time, it didn't happen. And then Fury entering the scene and making a comeback. So yeah, those three needs to face each other at least.

This will make the three best heavyweight fighters trying to proved amongst themselves who is the best. And then make other heavyweight to chase them so that that division lit up again, just like in the 80's and early 90's.

We can't really compare era's, those three really separate themselves from the rest of the heavyweight right now. Unlike before wherein there's a lot of "US" made boxers until the Klitscho brothers come along and dominated the division for many years.
