@Pseudo-Random: Great point about the sigcampaigners, rare to acknowledge the situation yet also to note the shitposting of this thread to irrelevance for months. Only one or two of them I even know as active users at BV, and those guys actually not once shitposted here about LL. I actually think Zodiac/LL should commission a study to find if there's been any impact since pausing the campaign. My money's on that it actually improved after.

Hope you're well, curious what you've been up to.
5482  Economy / Speculation / Re: Do you believe Michael Saylor is currently getting antsy? on: January 23, 2022, 01:55:02 PM
Am sure MS is prepared to take hits on two or three running years even. As long as they keep buying, they'll get their dues after the next halving rally.

Slight correction, as long as poeple keep lending him the money to buy coins he can take as many hits as he wants. Cheesy
But I don't see the point in doing so, either go buy BTC directly or at least invest in something that still makes a profit out of BTC even during bear season, although the option here are pretty limited.

I never quite understood that either, giving someone else money to invest in something you could easily do yourself for better rates. If it was about interest, BTC's volatility simply doesn't make sense for that model.

Fully expecting Saylor to be announcing doubling down or tripling down on buys at this bargain price... I mean he's got to not look like he changed his mind, assuming he's cut from that cloth like all wealthy people putting money where their mouth are.
5483  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Sportsbet.io ⚽ Spanish La Liga ⚽ Football Pool Discussion Thread on: January 23, 2022, 12:09:30 PM
@slaman Totally get the need for you to catch up but yeah man, haven't you been paying attention to all the talks that come up about Valencia every now and then and how they've lost us money time and time again? Haha but what a game it was too, though, wasn't it? I still don't enjoy Spanish football as much as English or even Italian (in recent seasons anyway) and you'd have to be a cynic to enjoy Atletico's style but it's still pleasurable to watch this kind of game at some point especially after drab EPL games.

Leicester and Valencia. Serial chokers.

Nicely done on Cadiz toma, they're doing a Norwich, aren't they? You're right, on Superbru the Cadiz game is still marked "Live". And on EPL page I should have lost my lead to tumi, but it still shows me at top. Very weird!
5484  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io's English Premier League Football Pool Discussion Thread on: January 23, 2022, 11:05:26 AM
Wolves have been brilliant in recent week, and I back them in all my bets and in the pool, that seemed like a bet not to be missed for me.

One of my favourites when Nuno didn't get pressured into changing tactics this season, but since he left they seem to have found their way again. It's not that they're not exciting to watch, just the way they seem to have built for themselves a brickwall in final third. But yes, great value bets on them for now, thanks to their seeming inability to score (and yet still do).

@Joca: most of us did badly. I am noting that there are quite a few others taking more risks like rdbase now, and the weekly board shows this up quite well. I was a bit adventurous with picks and paid dearly (predicting 3 goals for United, City, Villa, Leeds) and then all of them scoring one or none. I have not been moved to change my stance today though.
5485  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: January 23, 2022, 09:47:15 AM
Personally, I considered Zverev one of the main favorites to win this tournament, and now it seems to me, based on previous games, that the main favorites are Medvedev and Nadal.
What do you think?

Nadal at 7/1 before Djoko was out to me was the best bet I'd have taken BUT I decided to go for Tsitsipas at 18/1 instead -- I think the odds reflected people thinking his injury would get in the way but he's reached 2 semis here and I know he wants to do better while the world's bests aren't at their best right now. Glad @aoluain agrees the Greek as an outsider. I like my chances like that.
5486  Economy / Gambling / Re: Stake.com - Most Popular Crypto Casino & Sportsbook - Watford & UFC Partner ⚽ 🥊 on: January 23, 2022, 09:33:17 AM
Hey guys, probably spent WAY too much time fussing over this triple stakes game. I was actually waiting for Gane to up to 2/1, when I first started checking odds were 1.91 but I missed that boat as his position as the favourite just got stronger and stronger --  so I've gone done and said enough and put down some money on Ngannou, that triple winning thing a bit hard to ignore!

Don't know, But I think Ciryl Gane is in favor in UFC-270,
already placed a huge bet, waiting for 23 January, feeling so much excited.  Roll Eyes

Yeah he was a long time favourite, but not by much initially. I think the highest odds I saw for him on Stake was 1.91, which is why I mentioned I'd been waiting for it to go all the way up to 2/1 for an even doubler.

Unfortunately, I guess heavy betting on him kept reducing the odds, hence the value, so I literally swung to Ngannou just for the odds.

Too bad we didn't get the triple win as this was a unanimous decision. You guys at Stake must still be happy!
5487  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Sportsbet.io ⚽ Italian Serie A ⚽ Football Pool Discussion Thread on: January 23, 2022, 08:30:54 AM
I think I've said a few times too, when I put in score randomly without even checking out recent forms or position on the table it tends to work, but when you get really close in the ranking and you don't want to mess shit then it all starts to go sideways again.

Lazio and Atalanta playing out a goalless draw is something I really just still can't understand, I've got BTTS on at least to parlays and Over 2.5 on another, meeeeh! That'd be the 3 goalless draw in 5 games from Atalanta, what a shame from a team that were known for their goalscoring prowess.

I've definitely been doing a hell lot more "random" than planned for Serie A and La Liga and it's weirdly working out for me now after 20+ matchdays. But then it's not really random if you kind of know the teams even without really following the leagues right? For example, for me, random means backing the home team more regularly than the away team if they're not a big name team (to me). Or picking a draw when the last 5 games form for both teams is very similar (and so easy to use Superbru for that).

I think it all comes down to style. If your style suits prediction, better to stick to it. If not, better go random. My style of planning is awful for these types of pools, and I know it's only halfway through the season but I'm super happy with how it's all turning out so far just putting picks on favourites and instinctive scoring. This season I'm literally taking less than 1 minute to put my entire week's picks in, and in fact most of my picks for all 3 leagues are done a week ahead, if not more.

Last season, I was doing all kinds of calculations, especially for premier league, and then calculating in upsets, and putting in scores looking at odds for Correct Score market, who's injured, who's playing etc.

Now I'm just: fck it, a favourite doesn't stop becoming a favourite even if they change their style and team. And it pays off to still make the odd mistake anyway as even when Atalanta didn't win like last night, or the game before, no one else backed them to not win anyway.

You know there's always one or two teams after mid season you should never bet on. in EPL, that's become Chelsea. I wonder if it's become Atalanta for Serie A...
5488  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NFL Sportsbet.io discussion & predications thread rev on: January 23, 2022, 08:11:32 AM
So I was asking for upset picks and not a single person here or anywhere guessed there would be 2 last night, and one knocking out tourney favourites too. Sadly, my Packers journey ends here. Killing not only my outright but additional bets placed using them as supposed acca padding.

After MLB, NFL bow outs, I think I will be limiting my bets to pure outrights next season haha.

Phew, I'm still dizzy from the special treat we had from Atletico! Was sitting pretty at 21 until 1st minute injury time... then our pals from Madrid put two away in 2 minutes. Can't say they didn't deserve this, and it was a real treat to see.

Hard to even really get angry when it busts like this, honestly, right guys?

5490  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UFC Fight Night & Main Event: Sportsbet.io Predictions & discussion on: January 22, 2022, 07:25:36 PM
There is no disqualification for using the cage for the momentum. Anthony Pettis used the cage to knock down Benson Henderson and it was a crazy move and a highlight reel for a long time as he actually ran on the side of the cage and use that momentum and many fighters use cage to gain the momentum, like super man punch getting the momentum from the cage and it is common. You cannot hold the cage to prevent a take down or hold on to the cage and that is illegal but you can use the cage for the momentum and there is no restrictions on that.

Thanks for yet another answer to the question I've been asking a lot as someone still new to MMA and in UFC I haven't been able to find out for certain despite responses above.

Was sure someone here would be able to point me to the rules clarifying this but I guess it's different for UFC and other types of MMA? The allowed use of the cage for height momentum to me seems logical, great to know, feels like I need to watch more to understand why not more people use it!

Anyway, let's hope we get some all-the-way fights that get us some new cage scenes Wink

Norwich sucker punch, followed by a Toons sucker punch from Jonjo Shelvey, and then Rashford gets back to back goals after a drought to snatch a final-min win, Wolves scoring more than 1 goal... crazy day and I have to say, my bets are in absolute tatters. Got nothing to live for now except specials haha...

Anyone know why the drone incident postponed Brentford game so long? Just got home and could only read about it.

Edit: okay VAR chalked it off but if not, Wolves scoring THREE goals again would have made this day weirder. And did I say Rashford back-to-back was crazy? Try Adama Traore... I guess fate didn't want to push its luck today

I think this season is shaping up to be the closest title race in a long time.
Closest title race... I dont think so! This one Manchester city will easily win it because the other teams dont have the fight in them to challenge them.

You sure went back some pages to retrieve this haha. But you know, I'm a stubborn little gambler and still asking and prodding around for a treble offer for me on Liverpool.

We're the only team to ever sit atop the league on Christmas and not go on to win. I would love City to join us in creating such hallowed, such exclusive company.

Pity we only meet them in April, but well, maybe it's best.
5492  Economy / Speculation / Re: Supercycle or Halving cycle still? on: January 22, 2022, 03:16:27 PM
Plus if we check the chart in weekly, actually buyers were starting to buy again during January of 2015 for the 2016 halving and January of 2019 for the 2020 halving. It’s probably in anticipation of everyone’s expectation of the halving, therefore increasing demand. Miners are also speculators, they probably loaned fiat to have the cashflow to pay for their bills now, and sell their coins later.

And there will be plenty like me (I think/hope) who will already now be switching down gears and trying to buy more than sell. I earn rather than buy but I always try to touch less and less BTC and just invoice more in stablecoin during bearish periods --  in effect adding to my BTC and liquidating stablecoins.

Because you're right. People won't forget the next halving's coming, regardless of how the market turns out next few months.

This one is definitely closer than it looks on paper. Should be an exciting contest, all around.

Actually, I just checked on odds now that I'm fully awake today and not at the end of Friday Wink City next play hammers all the way in May, when the title is likely to be decided by then. The penultimate game of the season, in fact. Today they take on Southampton instead, so I know where my money is (always against City).

You would never lose money if you bet equal amounts against them every game -- true as of 2017 =D
5494  Economy / Speculation / Re: Do you believe Michael Saylor is currently getting antsy? on: January 22, 2022, 01:03:09 PM
Not a lover of Saylor, but the way he's been acting with his buys says anything but him keen to think in short term. Antsy doesn't at all feel like an option for someone who knowingly bought during a rally. You don't make those statement buys thinking of one or two years, or even one cycle (of about 4 years).

Microstrategy’s bitcoins bought on 2020 might be profitable, however, their bitcoins that were bought during 2021 are presently with a loss according to this article.

Estimates have suggested that Tesla bought its $1.5 billion BTC stash at an average price of $34,200 a coin.

Am sure MS is prepared to take hits on two or three running years even. As long as they keep buying, they'll get their dues after the next halving rally.

Tesla still in profit today, amazing! Wink

..well, it's finally happened!

BV either central-server/-cloudflare-crapped itself out, or, pulled an exit.

Huh! And to think it is I - [..r a r e..] of all people, who would be first to bring up this website's total inaccessibility failure, the first such in over a year or two, i can't quite remember

How interesting the timing of this, and of a certain moderator's publicized actions a week ago.. hm..!

Had 2.08LTC & 140doge still in there =/

Hey r a r e: it's me Sojourner/buwaytress. I've only just caught up with a lot of stuff here now, reading about Badger (which, well, seems really really sad honestly if true but I hold my judgment). It wasn't even for such a huge sum too, doesn't seem like worth the trouble to me =\

Site does appear to be offline as you say, Cloudflare issues, but I've seen this before as well.

The timing's definitely interesting, though this thread's been really full of shitposts for the last few months. I had almost nothing left in here, invests were pulled out as I usually do every few months, but still a modest sum of BTC I'd have preferred to have back.

You active on this forum?
5496  Economy / Speculation / Re: Market sentiments ? on: January 22, 2022, 10:33:15 AM
I feel like we're getting there, but at $29K the market will really hit panic capitulation I think.  I'm just wondering if we'll hold there and resume rising upward, or if we'll fall all the way back to the base of this runup as would be expected from looking at previous cycles.  If you're a believer in patterns, you might say that $10K is inevitable.  There's a lot of big money on board at around $30K though, so we'll see if they choose to defend their investment from a loss or sell and move on.  Certainly companies like Tesla have the capability to elevate the Bitcoin price if they want to.  I guess the question is if they feel the Bitcoin community is worth investing in or if they should focus their efforts elsewhere.  We are starting to see a battleground form as companies like Facebook are heavily diving into the Ethereum infrastructure, while Elon Musk wants to make Dogecoin the default payments crypto, & companies like Microstrategy are betting everything on holding Bitcoin.  It will be interesting to watch this next cycle unfold and see which business investments turn out to be genius, and which were dumb in hindsight.

And we're not that far off from 29k. Another couple of consecutive days of Bitcoin shedding 5% and it'll easily lead to another sell-off tranche, and then we'll be breaking 30k, and it's anybody's guess where we'll end up when that cliff's broken off.

I don't really believe in patterns but the belief that we'll never revisit an old ATH from a previous cycle on the way down from a current cycle is one I've rather superstitiously held on to. Going sub 20k would be hard for me to comprehend for a while.
5497  Economy / Speculation / Re: Under $39k, what's next? on: January 22, 2022, 09:57:33 AM
Yes, but past performance does not guarantee future performance. I do DCA and I don't care if there is war in Ukraine, Russia bans cryptocurrencies or we just broke ATH. I continue to ride along.

But we cannot trust that the returns that Bitcoin had in the first cycles will continue indefinitely. To the extent that an asset increases in price and market cap, it is more difficult for it to continue to have spectacular returns. I would like to see us reach $400K this cycle, but given what we have seen, it looks like it will be difficult.

Same here. DCA feels really difficult to do at first as a newcomer, can't help but keep looking at total price, and if you happen to have the "bad luck" of starting at the decline of a cycle, it can feel particularly hopeless to keep seeing total value drop even after many consecutive periods of DCA.

The thing I tell people who do worry about war in Ukraine, China trade wars, Pandemic, etc... is that these would anyway affect whatever asset it is you'd be holding. Black Monday in March 2020 proved this. Even in the most conservative of approaches, having Bitcoin spreads out the risk.

So for me, it's less about being in Bitcoin because we're going to keep getting supercycles, but because it's long-term pay off for the dollars you'll keep putting in.
5498  Other / Archival / Re: Where is the current absolute bottom of Bitcoin? on: January 22, 2022, 08:53:23 AM
What's eating at me right now is that ATH was barely 10 weeks ago and we've already lost almost 50%. I was prepared for a downfall, sure, but I was almost certain we'd reached a point where Bitcoin wasn't going to get all supercycle again (no more 10 x parabolic move up), before falling on the sword for extreme crashes. So the "slow" 20k to almost 70k suited me.

But this unwinding at speed, certainly January anyway, seems to suggest you're right after all, Bitcoin's still a cycle asset and in decline now -- but 20k surely has to be the floor for me. If Bitcoin were to break that floor, then we'd also have a first time for Bitcoin to go below an ATH set in the previous cycle.

Not sure I know what to do with the implications of that.

@TimeLord2067: Do they have Whovians playing ladies tennis? I don't dislike the dark side at all, just rarely see any interesting odds though Trofo winning on Osaka getting dumped out proves I need to look harder. (Good luck to you on your Anisimova outright Trofo. Checked out odds myself but I don't seem to have as good as you got, so skipping).

@Kemarit: Fritz made it hard on himself today, huh. Did your handicap get this to a win?

I myself woke up to find my outright pick Tsitsi also made it through. Wasn't a clean game but I'll take a 4-set game any time of day.
