5501  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Binance.US Will List Qtum (QTUM) on: November 17, 2019, 01:57:22 PM
I still remember this token way back 2017, I was fairly new in the market that time though, but it has struck in my mind and it's been a roller coaster ride, from as high as $100.00 and now down to $2.00.
I've never heard of the coin before, but from what you say, I guess the price was really high in the past, those were the days of altcoins/Icos though, I'm wondering if there was anyone who bought the coin when it was $100 and haven't sold since then, that's about 95% loss.

It's interesting, since Binance would be listing this coin, maybe probably they'll have a future, and it'll be interesting to see how trading with this coin would go. I'll consider buying just a hand full, just to play around with them and see if I can make very little profits. Thanks for the information.
5502  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Adoption of crypto in retirement savings plans growing on: November 17, 2019, 12:59:06 PM
Not a bad idea. Imagine working at an organization and you get all your pension or retired benefits in Bitcoin!
I am not too sure if many people would fancy this idea, even those who are bitcoin enthusiasts, receiving your pension in bitcoin would just be like investing all your life savings, and it's against the rule/idea of "invest with the amount you can afford to lose". This is well too risky, I believe in the bitcoin, but when i start working, I will not love to receive my pension in bitcoin.

It would be better to receive my pension in my fiat currency, then I'll buy bitcoins with the quota I'll love to use for cryptocurrency investment.
5503  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: You chose to "Be Your Own Bank" don't get complacent and scammed, I did. on: November 16, 2019, 02:41:21 PM
I read every single word of your post, though I'm yet to be scammed on the network, but the good part of your post is that it has also reduced my chances of being, as I've also learnt a lesson from it. I use discord, and i am not aware of user ID, but now I am, I'll be looking out for it, I enable pm's, but right before this post of mine, I've disabled them(lesson learnt)

It doesn't feel good to be scammed, no matter how little, you just feel you were outsmarted and that is a really terrible feeling, but it's really good if we open up just as you did, it would help someone else to avoid the same fate, let's create more awareness, till this scammers can no longer feed off other people's hardwork.
5504  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Half a million dollar worth of Cryptocurrency were stolen with SIM swapping on: November 15, 2019, 08:41:59 AM
Anybody who holds cryptocurrency right now and does not do much to protect and safeguard his or her assets/coins is doing the wrong thing, even though the methods this scammers use are methods we know about, we still need to be one step ahead by leaving no stone unturned and closing every loophole.

If you go to the scam accusation section and the beginners and help section, you'll see that so many scammers are making attempts daily to steal our coins, we need to implement all the forms of rearguard we know of, of course the forum has so many posts about security, safety, protection of our coins, this would enable us protect ourselves, do not forget to leave coins on exchanges as well, don't be greedy and "if it's not your keys, it's not your coins".
5505  Other / Meta / Re: Respond to thread without bumping, and report to followers on: November 14, 2019, 07:56:19 AM
I don't think it's a good idea to make a post in a thread and make it visible for getting old spams deleted. It's not worth moderators time.
I was never advocating for users to post in old threads simply for that reason, I was particular on users who choose to bump threads with new replies on them rather than creating their own topic, what I posted was the advantages of doing so, not a strict rules or that it should be done solely or just for that singular purpose.
5506  Other / Meta / Re: Respond to thread without bumping, and report to followers on: November 14, 2019, 07:14:13 AM
For instance, I'm hesitant to respond to an old thread because I'm afraid that bringing it to the front for the entire forum could revive some low-quality discussion...
It wouldn't be reviving them at all: since what you'll be adding by bumping it is a quality addition, then why should you should care about old spam posts on the thread. When you've bumped the thread with your new reply, the discussion can then take off from there again.

It would even help to get those low quality posts deleted, when the thread is bumped to the first page, the replies that were off-topic would be visible to most users, and then it can be reported to the moderator since it maybe just went unnoticed when it was posted.
So this can serve three good purposes, gets old spam posts deleted, generates new discussions on an old topic, and also replies/posts that were so good and were not merited, stand another chance of being so.
5507  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: November 13, 2019, 10:17:58 PM
Juventus will face Atalanta while Inter Milan will face Torino will one of the top teams miss the defeat? Atalanta A strong team in Serie A will either overthrow Juventus or in the other hand Inter Milan will win against Torino.
Atalanta could just be the team to actually stop juventus at this moment, Atalanta are a very decent and composed team, and with the unrest Ronaldo is currently creating in the team due to his anger at being substituted in the last game, there may just be some disunity in the team at the moment, on which Atalanta can capitalize on

Inter will have to keep winning, if they are to compete for the title, juve hardly lose games all season long, and so to inter must likewise also be winning, so that when juve actually drop points, they'll be there to go top of the table.
This two teams are giving us a really competitive and interesting title race this season.

5508  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread (EPL) on: November 13, 2019, 06:36:25 PM
In my view Leciester is surely going to be in top four in place of Arsenal or Chelsea...
If they continue playing the way they have been playing, then they will probably finish in the top four, the real question is, can they maintain this standard of theirs till the final week of the season? If they fail to do so, then I think the best they'll get is a Europa league spot. But if they finish the year in the top four, then that's enough reason to believe they will make it to the Champions League next season.
Chelsea and Arsenal both have very terrible time so its going to hurt them.
Chelsea aren't having any terrible time in the league this season, they are even title contenders, and if they beat Manchester City next week, then they will be making a big statement, for Arsenal, yes they are indeed having a bad season.
5509  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Project to help Newbie with first merits on: November 13, 2019, 05:38:22 PM
I expected a lot more posts and interests.
Me too, I have been keeping an eye on the thread since the day you posted it, as I promised to also give out the few Smerits I have if I find good newbie posts, but only about four newbies have till now dropped links to their posts, I'm disappointed at that number and I'm wondering if the reason is that this newbies lack good posts or are too lazy to drop a link to their good posts, when many times we see threads from them asking how they can earn merits.

I actually gave merits to @kinggta10,  because i think he really put work into making that post, it's all about consistency, if he only he continued to make good posts such as that, he maybe could have ranked up a little.
If there is no newbie interest in this action then I would rather help other forum members and reward their quality posts with merits
That is not a bad idea, and also, trying to help newbies rank up, should not also stop you from giving merits to other forum users(other ranks).
5510  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What are the not-so-known ways to generate crypto? on: November 13, 2019, 03:55:41 PM
You forgot to mention trading but this is a known source of making cryptocurrencies.
I was also surprised that trading wasn't mentioned by anyone or by the OP,  and most times when I see threads on how to make/earn cryptocurrencies, only very few users remember trading, and I think the reason is because is trading is not a very easy method, and as a result it escapes their minds.

You can earn cryptocurrency through trading, or would I say you can increase your cryptocurrency through trading, because to trade you need the coin in the first place, you cannot trade from zero, if it's hodling, you'll need to buy the coin you want to hold for some time, if it's daytrading, you need an amount of the coin you'll be trying to make profits from, but trading is one skillful means to earn cryptocurrencies that I always use.
5511  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ALTERNATIVES MEANS IN CRYPTOCURRENCY JOBS APART FROM BOUNTIES. on: November 13, 2019, 06:02:30 AM
If you have a good charisma like you can trick gullible people...
There are so many ways for people to earn cryptocurrencies, but this is the worst means I've ever heard of, are you actually advising OP to scam people and make their cryptocurrencies his own? That's not a good advice and no one should do this, it was the scammers that made it difficult for people to earn through bounties and other means in the first place, and we're still looking for ways to combat/eradicate them, not to add to them. And also remember that if you steal coins from people, this community would flag your account as a scammer.

If you do have any talent on the blockchain technology, try to acquire one for yourself and learn it well, whenever such skills are needed, you might just have a chance to earn cryptocurrencies, or you can just buy coins as well, never try to steal them.
5512  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Beginners&Help on: November 12, 2019, 11:13:55 AM
Your topic title is beginners&help, and I'm thinking you got something wrong there, did you mistake this boards name(beginners and help) to be a place where beginners(newbies)can ask for help just like you're doing. If that is what it is then it's not, the section helps beginners who are still fresh(new)in the forum to ask questions relating to what and what they shouldn't do on the forum, it's also where they come to read threads like "newbies read before posting".

For your question, it's a no, the forum wouldn't give you any money, no user would as well. This is even a risky stuff, you're new here and asking for donation, you must be careful so you would not be flagged a scammer.
5513  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread (EPL) on: November 12, 2019, 10:25:15 AM
Chelsea is doing really serious business in this season and unfortunate City is going to face them in the next match..
Chelsea and Leicester City are the two most entertaining teams in the league so far this season, and really no one gave this both teams any chance coming into the season, Chelsea due to their transfer ban were expected to stuggle, while Leicester were expected to stay mid table as usual.

But they have proven otherwise, Chelsea Vs Manchester City would be one of the most interesting games in the season so far, two teams that only love to attack, I do not think anyone of them would pay too much attention to parking the bus, city are more mature than this current Chelsea team and I see that being the edge for them, city win 3.1.
5514  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is it advisable to use cryptocurrency to support my favorite content creators? on: November 12, 2019, 09:53:26 AM
So many websites now open up space to allow people donate to them through cryptocurrency, in the past hardly do you ever see any donation that's not done with regular fiat, digital currencies were not used, the websites wanted it smooth and easy, something they wouldn't have to worry about it's value(dropping).

But with how popular cryptocurrency has become, they'll be losing donations if there isnt an option to donate through cryptocurrency, so many people now are holders of cryptocurrencies, and the world is aware of that. If your favorite content creators have an option for cryptocurrency donation, send them crypto, most preferably Bitcoin.
5515  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Nigeria Naira becomes first Fiat currencies to be listed on Binance. on: November 12, 2019, 07:01:41 AM
Which is far from true. Binance choose NGN because it was easiest to do since Nigeria is open for blockchain technology and is "actively engaging in trading cryptocurrencies" but it is definetli not dominating the industry.
OP is an advocate for the growth of cryptocurrency in Africa on this forum, and I think I'll be right if i say when he meant Nigeria is dominating the industry, he didn't mean all over the world, of course it's not possible for Nigeria to be the most dominant crypto savvy nation in the world, so many nations have adopted the technology, groomed it, even before Africans bought into it.

I feel OP meant Nigeria is one of, if not the most active in cryptocurrency trading in Africa, and I think Nigeria, along with Ghana, Zimbabwe, South Africa and Botswana lead that list in Africa, so I think he's correct if he says Nigeria is dominating the industry(at least in Africa).
5516  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling Addiction at its Worst! on: November 11, 2019, 09:32:35 PM
I can understand what gambling addiction is and understand what those who go through it can do, so I never doubt stories such as this told by the OP,  I gamble, but I'm still in control of myself when gambling.

I understand gambling addiction because I have a friend in my area who is a gambling addict, he use to good savings before, but the moment he got addicted to gambling, he is always out of money, he goes as far as selling his phone and stealing from his parents, the money he takes to a bet house to play virtual soccer bet and other form of bets. At this point he is always losing more than he gains, could greed be the cause of gambling addiction?
5517  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The welfare costs of Bitcoin on: November 11, 2019, 08:21:49 PM
the cryptocurrency is not only extremely expensive in terms of its mining costs, but also inefficient in its long-run design.
Mining cost you say, remember when it would cost you nothing to mine bitcoin? Now it costs so much, what does that tell you, that's indeed growth, development, improvement, it shows you it's no longer some valueless shitcoin you simply mine with your ordinary computer.

Bitcoin is more than efficient in the long run, if you trace it's growth from 2009 till now, you may then want to edit that part of your post.

5518  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2019/20 on: November 11, 2019, 02:45:44 PM
I wouldn't be so sure, I think the current Barca squad has fared way better than Real Madrid during supposedly big matches this season
I think the both teams are level when it comes to their standard of play the season, neither have been too good nor too bad and both teams have lost games everyone ordinarily would bet their house on for them to win.
That makes the game a spectacle in my opinion, and the bookies would definitely struggle to pick which is the best odd for each of the teams, if Madrid win, they go top I think, if Barca win, they extend their lead against Real Madrid, I hope Madrid win.
Is anyone really tired of international breaks?
Injuries and boredom, I can't stand the international break, I just hope teams do not lose their players to injuries during this break, it now seems to be a characteristic of the international break, I'll watch the boring games, but I do not think I'll be placing any bets on them.
5519  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin and tax in your countries on: November 11, 2019, 12:26:14 PM
In my country, I'd have loved to call her name, but for some reasons, I won't, there is zero tax on cryptocurrency, my country is not the most developed in the world(underdeveloped), and it's so easy for the citizens to evade taxes as the country doesn't have any effective tax scheme as of yet, and even the little they get from taxes, goes into the pockets of the politicians, I hope I never get to pay taxes for cryptocurrency.

For now cryptocurrency isn't so popular in our area, people are hearing about it definitely, but I doubt if they are getting into it, the last time I checked the percentage of citizens in my country into crypto, it was a very low percentage, maybe, just maybe if it gets more popular, this corrupt government of ours would impose taxes, to embezzle more money for themselves.
5520  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread (EPL) on: November 11, 2019, 11:31:28 AM
A magnificent victory for Liverpool and after 30 years of waiting championship title is very close for them.
It's very hard to say, but it sure looks like Liverpool have won the league in November, they will have to really lose form and players(injury)to blow this one up, and I do not see it happening. It was a must win game for city to close the gap to three points, but Liverpool were too good for them. All the Liverpool fans around the world can feel it, it seems after so many years of waiting, their time has finally come, let us watch and see if there'll be any more twists.
As a Croat I was particularly impressed with Lovren.
I think Dejan Lovren is a bit underrated in that team, he has been a rock in defence this season, VVD isn't making it easy for him, Virgil is so good that his performances overshadows that of Lovren, even if Lovren may actually have played better in that particular game, but it was clear Lovren was the better of the two yesterday.
