5501  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What will be Gift of Santa Claus in this Christmas for Bitcoin Hodlers? on: December 05, 2019, 11:04:18 AM
This is just hope according to the OP statement, so in my opinion they are free to expect the good according to their wishes and expectations about bitcoin and expect a gift on Christmas or a very special day to get a Gift from Santa who doesn't know its contents, good or bad.
There are two things that people can expect. Someone gifting them a big load of bitcoins or bitcoin price touching a large value higher than probably 20k USD. Both of these are unrealistic and unattainable unless something miraculous happens the chances of which is very very low.

So instead of dwelling on children's folktales, why not focus on gather more bitcoin at this time since the price is still hovering at 7k USD so you have more amount to sell when it crosses 10k USD in future. This is a good time to stock up coins because people are selling for spending fiat on Christmas purchases.
5502  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Merit & new rank requirements 2019 on: December 04, 2019, 07:31:53 AM
Sir can you tell us how we can collect maximum merit
By not making threads asking for how to get merits. Grin

Doing so only puts you on the ignore list of some members and is frowned upon by some merit sources.

In general, post in different sections of the forum with substantial content that is not always a regurgitation of similar thoughts. Try to vary your posting in different sections.

Try to learn some technical aspects of bitcoin too and try to help others who need help in that section.

But I seriously doubt if you are going to read any of this or the posts made above because your post history is bounty report spam. Unless you come out of your habits of hunting shitcoins, dont expect to get any merits.
5503  Economy / Economics / Re: Asset backed cryptocoins? on: December 04, 2019, 06:55:54 AM
money washing happen anytime, anywhere that we would not know about
How is that related to the topic at hand?
Quote
and asset backed crypto? not crypto only, whold economy.
and last one, the nation's own fiat it they could get it on blockchain, it should be over for bitcoin.
Nope. Bitcoin will remain as long as people use it. Even one person using it means that it is still alive. Again why would people trust a asset-backed crypto which is centralized by the government for supply? It is not different from fiat currency and thus will suffer the similar problems of deflation, continuous printing.

While the situation at Venezuela is commendable, one should remember that not every country is in the same situation so it not something that will happen.
5504  Economy / Economics / Re: Hi Excuse me Are currencies a "store of value on: December 04, 2019, 06:40:36 AM
Agreed, even if you invest on gold bars you'll be getting a small percentage of copper mixed with it. Without copper it is hard to combine it into bars.
You could buy sovereign gold bonds or gold ETFs. Invest in some gold coins which are close to pure gold. What I mean to say is that gold is a good store of value, not saying that crypto is not, but gold was and will be a good store for years to come due to its noble metal property and being trade-able anywhere in the world. That few bits of copper would become less important to you if you lose other modes of storing money.

Of course people will be biased about bitcoin being the best since this is a bitcoin forum and people here have come because they use bitcoin. It is a censorship resistant asset, but the problem with it is the government cracking down on traders making them go into hiding. If this becomes better in future then it would help investors.
5505  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: All goals are attainable, Way to be Hero Member and Legendary. on: December 03, 2019, 12:41:37 PM
PM me after the 18th and ill give you more bud.
Just be careful that the more you post such offers the more newbies are going to PM spam you for merits. They dont care if you read them or not, they will spam you inbox.

In a way thats good because they will get PM blocked and ignored too. Maybe you should give out a honeypot result soon. Cheesy
5506  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Will You Agree To Publicize Your Journey From Being Chronic Gambler on: December 03, 2019, 11:40:25 AM
what if the interesting story was made into a book, then sell it and you get a share of the money from it? I think this is very good.
For monetary purposes it would become a bestseller if you put in some effort and some "spicy" stuff - if you know what I mean.

Most of such books are just made up stuff. Dont believe everything you read because a lot of propaganda stuff goes on by public figures. Most of the professional gamblers are nothing but paid actors for the casino promoting that casino to get paid. They rarely if ever gamble and do so only at the order of the casino owners.

Moreover nobody tells their true self in media. What you would hear from a gambler is going to faked stuff. Who is going to verify what they did in a certain game. Nobody really cares about that.
5507  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Bounties on: December 03, 2019, 11:31:29 AM
Likewise, crypto community is not guaranteed as a source of income its just an passive income that may take as your luck.
Earning bitcoin is not luck. Its an active income if you are taking part in doing something. May not be huge but worth it for smaller income populations provided the service they provide is efficient and worthy.

Quote
Nowadays, bounty is not a good option in which your time might be useless in the end or if you plan to invest, it might be like you just giveaway your money since many scammers here in crypto community.
Bounty on the other hand is a waste of time. 99% of ICO/IEO dont make up to their promises and they bounty tokens are worthlessly dumped some not even enough to cover the minimum withdrawal fee of that exchanges. Such is bounty hunting in the bear market.

Quote
Hopefully you may think it many times before you will enter but I still believe that there are some legit bounties though you need to assure it first.
I believe that bounty hunters should move on and develop skills for a better source of income. More so they could join bitcoin paying campaign in future if they work of their post quality and earn enough merits.
5508  Local / Marketplace (India) / Re: Bitcoin mining machines for sale on: December 02, 2019, 01:33:40 PM
Ok lets see now,
Newbie account - check
First post in the forum - check
No prior trust rating - check
No prior successful trade history - check
What could go wrong here? Cheesy

Maybe post some pictures of the same? Not the stock images from the internet obviously, the ones that you have in store with you, with date and time.

This is a standard procedure, because a number of scammers are in this forum coming with newbie account and attempting to sell their devices while they actually have nothing to sell and it is scam.
5509  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Enforcing government regulations on: December 02, 2019, 01:24:10 PM
it could be because some factors and one of them is because you are opening yourself to public and engage with govt too much.
And you expect to operate a mining farm without involving any sort of services like electricity and maintenance?

Quote
centralized exchanges suck, that's all. Ideal exchanges for decentralized world should have no office and not centralized.
There is nothing called ideal in this world. Added on top is the number of DEXes being shut down with authorities tracking them. They are good but not even close to perfect.

Quote
we don't need to use centralized bank anymore. You can cash your assets without bank.
How do you propose the same?

Quote
any information should be kept for yourself, no one should give their information to public.
Easy for anybody to say that. You never know when a certain official who might be working in your operation and siphoning off information to authorities. That was how most whistleblowers have worked.

Quote
Well, basically govt is free to do anything just like we always want to freely use bitcoin, should not be a problem here and we have solution for every problem.
Most of them have but again you wont be able to rely for too long on one method of circumvention. It ends up being a cat and mouse chase.
5510  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Tips for newbies to trading on: December 02, 2019, 01:02:15 PM
YouTube videos so that you get more information.
I disagree with that part. Youtubers tend to promote their own shitcoins and shill them while attempting to sabotage the names of other coins. While this may not affect a veteran trader, newbies are easy to fall prey of it. They would believe every bullshit being told and make the mistake of buying some shitcoin when the channel owner is actually dumping their bag full of it.

Thats how these channels run. If you are immune to them then its well and good but would not advice it for a newbie. On the other hand stock market trading for a newbie in crypto trading would be good to learn about trading and then apply that to crypto markets.
5511  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Enforcing government regulations on: December 02, 2019, 07:22:06 AM
These are the things governments can do to prevent you from using bitcoin:
1. Prosecute the bitcoin miners.
2. Raid the exchange offices running in that country
3. Some banks will freeze accounts if they are suspecting you to transact in bitcoin or so.
4. Attempt to extort you of your money or honeypot information from you.
5. Internet censorship

Although all of these are not possible some like 1 and 2 have happened in the world and thus people should be cautious. We have seen exchanges shift their location once or twice to keep away from authorities and run their businesses or just shut down.

However none of these stop your from using bitcoin.
5512  Economy / Economics / Re: Hi Excuse me Are currencies a "store of value on: December 02, 2019, 07:15:50 AM
Dollar did lose its value and it shows that it would have been a bad store of value.

Now the good thing about gold/silver is that they are tradeable anywhere in the world and since they are noble metals gold>silver, they would not get stains and remain pure for long periods making it a good source of gifting to the next generation. It is thus inheritable.

Added to this and leaving out the "loss of purity" is bitcoin, making it more advantageous than gold for store of value. But using bitcoin and storing it has it own problems. You need to be somewhat tech oriented and know how to keep your keys safe and your devices safe.

Contrary to others, I do no consider any single asset to be "ideal"  each of them has their own pros and cons, so choose what you feel is good. Remember that storing your assets in different forms is also a good option, but will carry more workload.
5513  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does the discipline help in gambling? on: December 02, 2019, 07:10:55 AM
Gambling can be also called an instinct investment.
Gambling is not an investment. It is a mode of trying your luck aka chance based game.

Quote
To answer your question 'Does the  discipline  help in gambling?', yes discipline really helps in gambling but people don't really rely on discipline, but rely on instincts.
Instincts are based on discipline. One who has controlled their emotions have essentially controlled their instincts. These are people who are now in control will be able to decide whether to stop gambling or play more, manage their bankroll more efficiently and correct excess losses. These are important things which often lead to a gamblers downfall but preventable. Rage betting is a wrong step and the first step to going broke. It needs to be stopped.
5514  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Bounties on: December 02, 2019, 07:03:42 AM
Even the market getting better i dont that there are still project can give the right amount of bounty if you join. Crowdfunding trend just ended but i believe there is something new that will came up if the market was been stable .
Yeah crowdfunding is never the proper way to set up a big time project. If you are a serious entrepreneur with an idea of setting up a real company and not a small time backyard business like these ICO has been, you should go for the traditional stock market and give out stocks to potential investors. Crypto may be a good source of funding but it is still being frowned upon by governments and thus you are at a loss when the projects turn their back on investors.

Believe me, is these projects had something legit to offer they would go for investment bankers and capital funds. Not to go this forum for a bounty campaign to raise awareness.
5515  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Why FBI or Interpol is not shutting down startminer.com on: December 01, 2019, 11:19:11 AM
Can anyone tell me how hard it is to catch the people behind the massive online bitcoin mining scam startminer.com ?
They are scammers and successful scammers for a reason that they are able to pull the wool over authorities.

Quote
I see they have scammed millions from their ponzi scheme of bitcoin mining yet they are still operational
Best you become aware of them being scam and tell your friends and family about it. That is what you can do to prevent them from getting scammed.

Quote
Is it that hard for police or FBI to catch the owners behind it?
Bitcoin itself is a big grey area when it comes to law enforcement. BadBitcoin is a good site where you can report anonymously to FBI but then again prevention is better than cure. They do bust these groups at times which comes out in the crypto news media. However like I said, make others aware so they dont waste a couple of hundred dollars on these scams before the authorities can take any action, if at all.
5516  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can Bitcoin Be the Saving Grace for Ailing Banks? on: December 01, 2019, 08:34:38 AM
I still think bitcoin and banks can complement each other.

Both are designed for a different purpose - bitcoin for the generation that wants censorship-resistance, somewhat untrackable mode of payments while banks allowing fiat - for the generation that is not willing to go to much into the technical aspects and dont bother about government censorship.

Banks may have taken a stern policy not just in Germany but many others too which have come up in the recent news. Still there is chance that in future bitcoin becomes a force to be reckoned with and banks may change their stance.

Blockchain technology is being developed in many IT companies, soon enough bitcoin usage will follow and governments will be forced to accept it than use a centralized crypto.
5517  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: How do you come up with business ideas in crypto space? on: December 01, 2019, 06:45:19 AM
You are looking for a idea-farming thread? I can see zero use of it unless you are trying to farm out something for free to run your own project.

Ideas dont come for free. I had said this previously in this section and I will repeat it again - Ideas are bought, not given out for free. Creativity is rare and having a creative idea that stands out will be paid for.

So basically you are asking for free ideas. While you could run a project with a run of the mill idea but its takes uniqueness to stand out of the crowd, which is rare.
5518  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Google possesses threat to bitcoin. What do you say? on: December 01, 2019, 06:35:40 AM
Very reasonable, they can create their own bitcoins by keeping Bitcoin safe.
Unlikely to happen. The mining procedure making anybody trying to mint their own coins useless. The quantum computing was another scare tactic, nothing more.

Quote
In the long run they will have to develop one of their currencies. If they exploit all the bitcoins in the market and sell them, the liquidity will be zero. They will not be foolish to destroy this market. There are many people who own bitcoin and the majority are their customers and partners.
Seriously speaking, a tech company like Google would never go into that direction. They are nonethical enough to save your data but ethical enough to not sell it, similarly their owners are rich enough to not make any attempt to ruin the market. They have much better uses of quantum computing than to attempt to destroy something which has a good use.

However they may create their own altcoin and promote its usage for paying, maybe google pay use?
5519  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Help in Trading on: December 01, 2019, 06:30:02 AM
Still seems i am not earning.
You will gain a profit when you sell at the price higher than the price you bought bitcoin at, using fiat.

Quote
numbers keep going down.
Which numbers? The coin prices? Those are not withing your control. To be on the safer side buy at the dip when the dip is around the next support level as far as known from previous price charts.

Quote
what am i doing wrong? suggestions please?
Have you tried maintaining an excel sheet to keep track of your buying points and the point of selling? It is not necessary to keep only one set of coins as buying/selling capital. If you buy at a dip and then the price goes down even more, reallocate another capital to buy the next dip, but with caution. Keep track of all these capitals to be able to monitor your gains.
5520  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Help me to find best cloud mining on: November 30, 2019, 09:17:42 AM
can  you please tell is there any good trading signals?

Think of it this way,
If some trader had an insider news about the market, would they sell that news to make money or pump and dump their coins to make money? If they gave away the information they would get a lesser chance at taking the profit that the market would have given then in case they had not divulged that information.

Secondly, it is easy to fool people on the internet because people give false promises and some people accept them without questioning. This is why trading signals are popular but actually a scam.

Thirdly, there are some pump and dump groups too. They promote their own shitcoins to the brainwashed member who buy that coin and create a good buying pressure when the owner of the group (the scammer) sell away their coins to get a good profit and leaving the members with a bag full of shitcoins with no volume to sell on.

The straight answer is, all these are scams. If you want to trade, learn trading for traditional stock market books, because youtubers if you try them, will simply shill their shitcoins more than teaching you anything. By anyway, learn how to trade and use that to buy sell coin at your own choice and decision.

Anybody who tells you to buy this buy that, is attempting to trick you. You have to be very careful in this market.

Nobody in the world does anything just to show their generosity. There is always a hidden agenda, specially on the internet.
