5501  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Let's bury Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies once and for all on: December 31, 2017, 08:11:06 PM
I see so many people throw these ponzi scheme accusations but isn't a ponzi scheme run and controlled by a person or a group of people who are trying to profit from it? To be able to prove that Bitcoin is built like a scheme one would have to identify the people cashing out. Who are they? The members of the Bitcoin Foundation maybe? Gavin and the CIA? Satoshi Nakamoto whose coins haven't been moved for years? It's just a bunch of wild theories.
5502  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-12-29] FT: EXMO Director Released From Kidnap After Paying $1 Mln Ransom on: December 31, 2017, 08:04:42 PM
At least he will be able to begin the new year with his friends and family instead of being held in a cell by some gangsters. No money is able to buy that. He lost a lot but I'm a believer and think the authorities will eventually be able to track them down and return some of the stolen coins.
5503  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [UFC 219: Cyborg vs Holm. NEW EVENT!] The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: December 31, 2017, 07:50:35 PM
@gabmen. If the Cyborg and Ronda fought during Ronda's prime, I reckon Ronda would have lost and would have her style and strategy exposed in the same way Holly Holm and Amanda Nunes exposed her.

She is not the problem, her coach, Edmond Tarverdyan, is. No one knows why she does not leave his gym. Also, if Edmond was a cryptocoin, he is a scam ICO token hehehe.

Of course because Ronda can't fight at all. The only thing she knew is how to win on the ground and if she happened to get a good grab she'd win.
She never could take a punch or throw a good combination and was popular mainly because she had the looks and was cocky. Anybody can simply compare how ripped Holy or Cyborg are when compared to Ronda.

I think Cyborg can win this one.
5504  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Society without money ? on: December 31, 2017, 07:45:42 PM
Society without money is not happy, we cannot have what we have now if the society we have no money. Would it be difficult for people to live without money.
There can be a society without need money, however it will require some people to work. If none had to work none would have a need to keep on living.
I don't see how this would work. No money means no way to price the goods. What if someone comes and asks you how much you want for that house or car? Will you say 25 sheep and a horse? Grin It used to work in the old days but now we need some way of measuring the value.
5505  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 2017 is almost closed.... How was the Crypto year friends on: December 31, 2017, 07:43:13 PM
We all know it's been great, asking for it is pointless.
In the past after such a great year there used to be 1 or even 2 years of a bear trend. I wonder what the 2018 will bring us, hopefully a year of stabilization and a lot of business acceptance. We have the value that we were longing for, now it's time we're able to spend it.
5506  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What company would you want to have accept Bitcoin? on: December 30, 2017, 10:47:37 PM
Some gift card store that covers all big EU retailers would be great.
I think I'd also like shopping malls to issue their own Bitcoin gift cards that you can use in any of their stores. I'm not even hoping for a full acceptance like in Japan or Korea. Gift cards would still be a good option.
5507  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Oh crap! What happened to bitcoins? on: December 30, 2017, 10:44:54 PM
These days I am noticing that the price of bitcoin is quitely decreasing..So what can we assume?
Bitcoin is going towards its end or its a good news for investors...If so then lets buy lot of bitcoin at risk...may ne in future we suffer from heart attack or we can become mad for becoming such rich..

-Oh noo! Bitcoin went up 700% and then it lost half of it! We're doomed!
-Come on, stop it, it's still worth more than it was last month!
-It's dying! It's all over! I'm going to kill myself!

Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy
5508  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Great News For Bitcoin! Lightening Network First Payment Was Successful! on: December 30, 2017, 10:37:07 PM
The lightning Network will not affect the cryptocurrency market immediately. We will wait for months before we can see the impact of LN on Bitcoin.
Devs are doing their best, but it is always up to users whether to support it or not.
I am certain that the lightning network will be massively adopted since all users are suffering from high trasactions fees.

It should be up and running in 4-6 months. By that time we may be deep into a bear market and the whole distribution of wealth will change. Those who were too late for this month's rally will have another chance and the current holders will have a chance to show their dedication.
I also agree with you that it's going to be adopted. Forks were dividing the community and lightning offers us a resolution without the need to make a new coin.
5509  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoins and altcoins are “Ponzi Schemes”, says Indian finance ministry on: December 30, 2017, 10:28:34 PM
They have no idea what a ponzi scheme is. The most important and basic rule is that the creator has to be profiting from all of it. A ponzi scheme where there is no one in control and no one to invite new people in is not a ponzi scheme. It's something the regulators can't understand because they are used to centralized everything. Central government, companies started and run by people and schemes run by fraudsters.
5510  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: December 30, 2017, 10:18:49 PM
So people are just whacking off and pumping/dumping things at random, aren't they?

Apparently so.

But at some point those who don't want to keep their riches in the shitcoin of the day will have to go back to daddy.

The question is whether this daddy will become Bitcoin or Bitcoin Cash Cheesy I'd prefer BTC, but whatever it is we'll know by the end of 2018.
I see only 2 options. Either BTC will go above 20k USD or the fee problem doesn't get resolved and BCC will get pumped to 10k USD. XRP and ETH are out of the picture.
5511  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin domination era is over? on: December 30, 2017, 10:14:27 PM
bitcoin dominance is very prominent and reasonable if now btc began to weaken because so many people who sell btc at the time of Christmas and New Year. but for this XRP price spike I think it's surprising to many people. because not many people thought this was happening

It is surprising because it's a centralized altcoin. Most bitcoin supporters won't go after xrp. They'll rather see a bitcoin competitor like BCH take over than a coin made by bankers for bankers. It would be a disaster IMO. Also, with the number of xrp in circulation I don't think it will ever become the king.
5512  Economy / Speculation / Re: Ideas on value in 2018 on: December 30, 2017, 10:10:51 PM
Alright world anyone have any thoughts on where bitcoins value will sit at going into and through 2018
So many predictions were been made for the bitcoin price in 2018 by different people from good to bad. For me, i think 2018 is going to a wonderful for bitcoin despite so many challenges affecting bitcoin e.g. high transaction fee and slow transaction speed. Even with all that, i think bitcoin will finish selling around $50,000 in 2018.

The transaction speed problem is going to be resolved either by the lightning network, the 2x fork or something else. I've read an article today about a new project similar to 2x, that is going to increase the speed of the network. That is of course if people decide to support it.
I also believe we're going to go up but first we'll have a shakedown. It's been happening for a couple days and might continue throughout January.
5513  Economy / Economics / Re: Amazon and Bitcoin on: December 30, 2017, 10:07:21 PM
I saw a news about a week ago Ebay is planning to accept Bitcoin. I'm not sure about Amazon adoption of Bitcoin but it's most likely to happen shortly.

There used to be so many leaks about Amazon planning to accept Bitcoin that it would be natural for them to do it at some point. I doubt all of these have been made up, some could come from real sources that simply postponed the adoption somewhere along the way. Accepting Bitcoin means free advertising and bitcoin trading on Amazon is already being done with the help of gift cards. They don't have much to lose. Probably they're only waiting for fees to go down.
5514  Economy / Speculation / Re: Can bitcoin reach 40k at the end of 2018? on: December 30, 2017, 10:03:47 PM
I think we already know since 2018 is ending in 24 hours (for me) and much earlier than this for people in Australia. I'm pretty sure though that we'll see a rally in 2018 with the price at least touching the previous ATH. I believe it's a matter of time before we go to $40k. Bitcoin is only gaining speed for another rally right now. We've all seen it before.
5515  Economy / Speculation / Re: DON'T PANIC. HOLD YOUR BITCOIN. on: December 29, 2017, 01:18:22 AM
People can't handle their anxiety and  is selling their coins at cheap prices... I can't believe this turned to be a bad move for long term holders..

We need those downtrends to later have something to regret. Not long ago I held when it was going down to $3000 and I thought to myself if I should sell because it could be the end of the uptrend. I know many people did and later regretted it when the prices were breaking ATH time after time. The forum is full of people who sold at various levels thinking it was the end of Bitcoin, but it wasn't.
5516  Economy / Economics / Re: 2018 will be “The Year of the Cryptocurrency Craze”!!!! on: December 29, 2017, 01:14:07 AM
BTC in 2018 can increase up to 25k USD. Mark my words

Many people have predicted it. I also believe that it will at the very least hit $20000 again. People are being crazy about it already and there's so many countries with overinflated currencies that want a piece of the pie that there's no other way for cryptocurrencies than up.
5517  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Exmo owner - Pavel Lerner - kidnapped on: December 29, 2017, 01:09:11 AM
Quote
Mr Lerner is a prominent Russian blockchain expert

Quote
was kidnapped while leaving his office in Kiev's Obolon

So let me get this right....
With all the mess happening in Ukraine, a Russian guy runs an exchange there, with probably millions $ in BTC and he just takes strolls in the morning?

This sounds so unreal.

Funny that they used a Mercedes Benz but not an S-klasse, a Vito.

There's not much love between the Ukrainians and the Russians.
It may sound unreal but kidnappings happen around the world every day. Ukraine is one of the poorer European countries, people are looking for alternative income and crime provides that. Going after a Russian is a double win.
Vito has sliding door, easy to grab a person from the street and throw in. S class gets more attention and is harder to steal.
5518  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Fork status on: December 29, 2017, 01:00:31 AM
Whats the current status of the fork?

What fork? are you talking about segwit2x?

It's irrelevant and dead. It was since day 1. Now it seems some scammers have decided to try to bring back a dead horse in order to pump and dump it thanks to newbies thinking segwit2x, or any other fork for that matter, has any relevance or real chances of surpassing Bitcoin.

Don't pay any attention to it, the only think you should do is get the segwit2x coins and dump them. It has 0 impact on actual Bitcoin.

Even taking them may be tricky. If these are scammers like you're saying it's possible the wallets will be bugged. I won't cash out my 2x until it's all 100% confirmed to be safe and tested. I'm not going to risk $14k to get $100.

So it's free coin

If it hits exchanges it will do well

Would I buy it? HELL NO

But I'll take free forks when issued

So if you got coins you got free money today

That's how I see it. I'm always trying to hold at least some of those free coins and sell some to buy myself some treats on their account.
Could you start writing like a normal person and quit pressing enter after each sentence?
5519  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: How do you cash out... on: December 29, 2017, 12:57:38 AM
It depends on the currency that you're using. In my case it's EUR. I hardly ever cash out, but when I do it's at coinbase straight into my bank account and then via an ATM if I'm in need of cash. I have cashed out everything that i've invested already and all that's left is going to stay in cryptocurrencies until it's worth millions or nothing. It's go big or go bust!
5520  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Your Lucky moments during gambling? on: December 29, 2017, 12:53:23 AM
My lucky moment was when I changed payout to x100 instead of x10 on dice by accident and it hit on first roll. Oh man, I was so shocked. Also went all in by accident once on x3 and tripled my bankroll in just one hit. Cheesy

That could have turned into a disaster. Next time better watch out, it's easy to press a button by mistake or move a slider the wrong way and *poof* the money is gone.
My luckiest moment was when I was given free money in a PD giveaway and went there thinking I'll cash it out and leave, but I pressed the roll button just for fun and won, so I thought maybe it's my lucky day I'll keep pressing until I lose and it happened to be 5 wins in a row before the first loss. Free money making more free money!
