5521  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Scamsite adkinsbet.com = lucybit.com ? on: April 28, 2022, 09:00:01 AM
Believe me, its a one man operation.
No, that's not how it works. You need to provide evidence to back up your claims. If the system worked the way you suggest it should, half of the world would be in prison or dead because of hunches, feelings, and opinions.

And Royse is tagging people without evidence, this guy does not deserve DT status and this casino is a big joke.
Show us examples of some of those tags. I checked his most recent feedback and it's mostly related to people scamming or using multiple accounts in bounty and signature campaigns.
5522  Other / Meta / Re: Wall of fame / shame. Shit posts so bad that they are actually funny on: April 28, 2022, 08:46:46 AM
Nah, he's perfect for this forum as he demonstrates just how far the boundaries of free speech here stretch to (assuming that post hasn't been deleted).  If one doesn't agree with prejudice like that, it should be challenged but not silenced IMO.
The post seems to have been deleted already, probably not due to its content, but because it was unimportant, off-topic, low-value, and whatnot. Don't get me wrong, I wasn't suggesting he should be banned. He shouldn't be here because of his mental problems that need to be professionally treated. He is obviously triggered by everything and everyone and a community with lenient rules where everyone can say whatever they want to certainly doesn't help him recover.
5523  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum can't handle "send to pubkey" inputs on: April 27, 2022, 08:21:21 PM
Does anyone have an idea or suggestion which wallet would be able to setup such a watch-only wallet that properly recognizes the P2PK transaction balances and additionally the later mostly P2PKH spam to the derived addresses?

Maybe with Bitcoin Core...
Yes, Bitcoin Core should do the trick. I found a post from achow101 from a few years ago. He explains how you have to import the public key into your watch only wallet for P2PK outputs to become visible. You can't import the address they are supposedly in because P2PK scripts don't have addresses. The public key should create the correct watch-only wallet.

The second is that importing an address will not give you the pubkey necessary for a P2PK output as those scripts don't have addresses. To add P2PK outputs as watchonly, you will need to import the public key directly.

5524  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: electrum wallet problem on: April 27, 2022, 08:06:47 PM
What happened with the computer that you originally installed the Multibit client on in 2015?
Is it the same computer that you use now?
Did you give it to someone, did you sell it?
What do you use your computers for where you keep you wallets and private keys? Any torrents, pirated games, porn?
How tech savvy are you? Do you believe you could have caught some type of malware due to your internet activities?

The keys were imported from Multibit and maybe a second computer. That means the same keys exist and were hot in two different software wallets and possibly two different computers.
5525  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Ledger Wallet Confidence? on: April 27, 2022, 07:41:15 PM
It's much better to generate seed on your own secure way and use open source hardware wallets like Passport, Keystone, Bitbox or Trezor.
It's worth questioning why a product can be considered open-source if they use a closed-source secure element and no one knows what it does except that the company promises it doesn't do anything bad. And Wallet Scrutiny posted an interesting snippet from Keystone's Github:
Quote
Due to copyright, some vendors’ code cannot be made public, and we have removed some of the code from the source code. Therefore this open source code cannot be compiled. However, we can share this part of code under an NDA if you want to fully verify the code and reproduce it.
https://github.com/KeystoneHQ/Keystone-system

All their products are (still) marked as "no source".
5526  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Ledger Nano S Plus on: April 27, 2022, 09:24:23 AM
<Snip>
So the individual board components are manufactured in China and then they get shipped to France where a domestic company puts them together and creates the final product. There really isn't any issue with that besides their unnecessary claims that it's made in France. There is no need to lie about outsourcing certain work to the Chinese because everyone does it and it's cheaper. Lying about it just makes it look like you have something to hide. Considering all the letdowns Ledger has caused in the past, it doesn't surprise me one bit that everything they do now is questioned.
5527  Other / Archival / Re: Announcing Wasabi Wallet 2.0 on: April 27, 2022, 09:05:30 AM
Maybe they can. Wasabi's implementation of coinjoin has reportedly been breached:

Still, it seems that Wasabi has never been as safe as we all think:
Using a capability that is being disclosed here for the first time, Chainalysis de-mixed the Wasabi transactions and tracked their output to four exchanges.
So the guy found a vulnerability in the DAO and reported his findings. But he wasn't taken seriously and the developers thought it couldn't be exploited. To prove them wrong, he hacks the protocol and creates havoc for Ethereum. It really could be that German/Austrian lad. Even so, the article doesn't explain how he did it in a way for a non-computer and tech savvy housewife to use similar methods to discover what her husband has been buying.
5528  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Any Keystone discount codes? on: April 26, 2022, 01:18:46 PM
I tried to find something, but except the crap that you come across from search engines when you search for discount and promo codes, there isn't anything useful. Those who owned Cobo Vaults in the past could take advantage of a 50% discount on the purchase of a Keystone hardware wallet. Not sure if that is still valid, but it doesn't hurt to ask. Send them an email at support@keyst.one and ask if they can give you a discount.

Check this out:
https://twitter.com/keystonewallet/status/1400448019259027458

Alternatively, you can check if anyone has any codes on their Telegram group or Discord.
Seems they aren't active on Reddit.

5530  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Square is considering making a hardware wallet for Bitcoin on: April 26, 2022, 09:50:03 AM
A new breech of customer data and this time it happened back in December. I wonder how many other hardware and crypto companies have been hacked but are keeping it a secret. It's getting to a point where you should consider that your personal data has been leaked unless proven otherwise.

So the ex-employee has client names, portfolio values, payment information, and social security numbers. Wonderful. At least we haven't seen the data being sold somewhere. I guess they got to him in time.
5531  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Ledger Wallet Confidence? on: April 26, 2022, 09:39:09 AM
I am considering moving all my coins off places like Exodus and Coinomi and putting everything on the hardware wallet I have. using various apps available.
Storing your coins on a hardware wallet has many benefits compared to keeping them on centralized exchanges. But not all coins that are supported by the older Ledger devices work on Nano S+ currently. Monero, Polkadot, and Terra are some of the ones that are currently not working. Check out this post by dkbit98 or go to Ledger's reddit for more info.

When the comparison is between Ledger and closed-source software, i have higher confidence on Ledger.
Me too, but it should be noted that Ledger is also closed-source and not reproducible from source.

Also it is good to know that Ledger hardware wallet secure element is close source, no one knows how it is generating phrase, even if pregenerated, no one knows.
That's not something that is exclusive to Ledger. All secure elements are closed-source and Trezor could be the first one to develop an almost open-source chip.
5532  Other / Archival / Re: Announcing Wasabi Wallet 2.0 on: April 26, 2022, 09:18:56 AM
My friends don't want their sex toy purchases found on the blockchain by their wives, or possibly seen by their employers. They work in a religious organization!
Wives and employers won't be able to follow the trail from the source to what was purchased. They also can't acquire this information by asking Wasabi or blockchain analysis firms. Analysis companies feed their data to government institutions and other 3rd parties. It remains private in a way that the wife and employer won't be told about it.
5533  Local / Hrvatski (Croatian) / Re: Novosti on: April 26, 2022, 09:10:40 AM
On nama svima želi dobro.

Elon is a brilliant person and his take on acquiring twitter is a thumbs up for crypto.
Elon is a manipulator who couldn't care less about you, me, crypto, or Twitter. He is aware that he has a big following amongst the crypto community and uses that position to create hype for the coins he owns and previously acquired.

He has already been charged by the SEC for fraud, and although he didn't admit doing anything wrong, he paid a $20 million penalty fee and was forced to step down as the CEO of Tesla. He tweeted and lied to his followers about his intentions of taking Tesla shares private for a much higher price than what they were worth. He lied that everything is ready for the listing, only the Tesla shareholders would have to vote and approve the idea. That was obviously all an act that resulted in the value of the shares to increase.

You can read all about it here if you want:

5535  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I think top exchange listing news should be hidden on: April 25, 2022, 04:44:20 PM
It can be a total bluff, yes. It's a way to make the project look better and more important than what it really is. If their way of presenting the system to their community centers around listing on Binance, you should stay away from something like that. A useful project will try to explain their technology and how they are different from the rest. Posting Binance announcements, moon pictures, and things like that shows ulterior motives.
5536  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Why do some project developers like copying on: April 25, 2022, 04:31:42 PM
Ride the hype wave, that's why. They abandon their original ideas or complement them with the newest crypto trends because they aren't getting the response and the cash flow they originally expected. To change that, they take the easy route. Let's introduce whatever the kids are playing with these days. Not that long ago it was DeFi, then NFTs, and now the term metaverse keeps popping up all over the place.

When was the last time you heard someone say ICO or IEO? It's old news and isn't trendy. People have gotten tired of it. Come back in 3-4 years and something else will take over the NFT and metaverse craziness we have today.
5537  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: A road to Legendary. on: April 25, 2022, 04:22:40 PM
I have to say that you confused me with this thread of yours. I thought you were initially taking about somebody else because of the way you began.

At that time, in the forum he changed his ranks and the way of climbing was through the activity and the number of publications, when he changed to the merit system in many users, there was discomfort, although I saw him as normal, because in that the moment was in a privacy and anonymity Altcoin project,
Obviously, I had liked to receive the Merit of Hal Finney, Satoshi Nakamoto, which is something that I will always want to have in my life, at least I hope to receive merit of Satoshi, but Hal gives me feeling because he was a very relevant person in history .
The late Hal Finney is unfortunately no longer with us. He died back in 2014. Satoshi has left the project even earlier. I think in 2011. His identity and whereabouts have remained a mystery ever since. The merit system wasn't around in those days and it was a different type of forum. He is surely not coming back to merit anyone. For security reasons, theymos banned his account.

Anyways, good luck in your quest for higher ranks!
5538  Local / Hrvatski (Croatian) / Re: Novosti on: April 25, 2022, 03:52:42 PM

5539  Economy / Reputation / Re: A Bitcointalk accounts seller advertising on: April 25, 2022, 09:38:42 AM
The seller made it clear that he would disclose the account details only after payment. It is obvious that everything he wrote in the offer is made up and these accounts do not exist.
He might or might not have access to the account he is advertising. Only he knows that. The part where he doesn't want to disclose the name of the account before receiving the money can't be used as proof he doesn't have it. That's his way of protecting himself and his account from not getting tagged in case someone contacts him and asks him for information about the account and proof he owns it. In addition to that, even if he says he is selling account X, it doesn't mean he actually is. He could be trying to frame someone. Proving that he can post from the account is the only valid proof that he has got it.
5540  Local / Hrvatski (Croatian) / Re: [VELIKA LISTA] Hardverski novčanici (80+) on: April 25, 2022, 09:26:01 AM
Facebook i Instagram također ništa.
