5521  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How much bitcoin has been made by ... ? on: January 29, 2019, 07:23:29 PM
I have to wonder how much bitcoin has been made by members of this site with the overshadowing of casino signatures.  Does anyone else approach advice from these people with a bit of apprehension?
Good question, never wondered about this before, would like to know myself. Not that I care about other people wallets but it is kinda interesting. I don't know what where the rates pre 2015 but...
Exact amounts will be hard to determine actually but let's see, quite a few years of activity, lets say 8, plus dozen of thousands of participants, add many various bonuses and extras, deals for avatar, signature, sometimes personal text alone...
I would be surprised if this amount was lower than a million BTC  Shocked  ~1.000.000 easily.

True, we have to remember the big amounts that signatures used to play, i remember getting between 0.15 and 0.1 on my signature campaigns like 3 or 4 years ago. And i wasn't a legendary member at that time.

So, not sure about 1 million btc, but more than 10,000 btc we can be sure.

Thank you for the other thread.
I left red trust to all the three users involved, but gathering enough info for a criminal accusation would be great.

After many months without my account I'm pretty pissed off, but I'm also really really curious about how he managed to hack my account.

TO THE HACKER: a detailed explanation about how you hacked me will stop my intention to sue you

So, this is the issue, if you are not sure about how you get hacked, it could happen again.

I would like to recommend you to change all your passwords and run a couple of scans with your AV. Another option is that you get hacked when the forum gets hacked, not sure if you remember a couple of years ago when the forum gets vulned and someone gets access to the DB.

So, just be careful my friend, and hope it doesn't happen again.

But the problem with this is the farming accounts.

If we make it easy for them to get 1 merit, then they will keep farming the bounties. So, this kind of giveaways are fine, but one of the requirements should be a nice posting history, this way we can avoid getting farmers abusing this kind of giveaway.

I think you're quite wrong. We currently have a chatbot running events during active periods and the wager competitions have been running more often compared to before. We may have removed the faucet but I wouldn't consider that a "better" promo.

Of course input on what would be a good promo is always welcome, within reason of course.

The chatbot is a great idea, it doesn't give tons of money but is a slow start. I like that kind of promos and leave it random to the winners so totally fair.

ABout the other promos, you are already creating great promotions, i remember the video contest and the wager competition some weeks ago. So, the next promo could be 2009 - 2019 gambler challenge or something fun like that.
5526  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Are Your Coins Safe on: January 28, 2019, 10:08:57 PM
Is it not possible that we'd wake up one day and all the coins of a network are gone. Maybe mined overnight by hackers https://cryptoinfowatch.com/proof-of-stake-attack-25-cryptocurrencies-vulnerable/

LoL, everything is possible in this life buddy, but it would be something more complex than 'mined overnight by hackers'. Think about one supercomputer, then think about 500 of those machines together, in theory with that you can generate all the possible private keys, then import them to bicoin core and that way you would have access to all the bitcoins. Then you can send all the bitcoins in one transaction and when people wake up all the coins of the network will be gone.
5527  Other / Ivory Tower / Re: Linux without windows on: January 28, 2019, 05:35:08 PM
Hopefully this isn’t too controversial. I want to have a Linux operating system that is very minimalistic. I want just a terminal if I can/cli.

I think Ubuntu is counterfeit windows. I’m not against having a gui but I think it might make me faster without one. I kinda just want something without very much installed (until I need it).

I have been a Linux user from the past 17 years, and i have thought about this topic a lot. So lets focus on two points here. What distro and what you can do with it.

For distro i have 2 options for you. First one is Ubuntu Server and the Second One would be Centos. Both of them comes without gui. So both are perfect for this.

And now, what can you do with it? Well, here you have some useful tools:

Code:
Lynx - Navegate on the web
wget - download stuff
youtube-dl - download youtube content
mplayer -vo caca - watch videos in ascii
ffplay example.mp3 - Play a song
alsamixer - manipulate volume
irssi - connect to irs chat
...

So, you can do tons of things without Gui.

So if you decide to try it, i would recommend you to take a look to this site, here you will find the best command lines for your OS https://www.commandlinefu.com/

Then my mistake was to not be a newbie.

chanleilei and yanonofelet, congrats for your great job, even spamming on this thread you are doing it great (By posting English on the Spanish section.) But we know you are just following orders, so i don't blame you guys. I don't get the payment for the job, so for me, PRIMEXBT are scammers and no more.

So, before the Italian or the Indu spammer arrives, let's be clear... I did my job and i don't get the payment. That's why i delete this thread, i will not work for free and i will give a warning about that service to the community, i will not make war against PRIMEXBT because they will not be the first or the last scammers on this forum, we can be sure about that. They are free to keep scamming. The price to pay is reputation,  that's how things work on this forum.

And now since the point is clear, i will lock the thread. There is no sense to let PRIMEXBT minions comes to spam this thread.
5529  Local / Primeros pasos y ayuda / Has programado algo con Bitcoin o Criptos? on: January 28, 2019, 03:26:07 PM

5530  Local / Español (Spanish) / Re: Movimiento Cypherpunk y Bitcoin on: January 28, 2019, 03:04:21 PM

https://www.activism.net/cypherpunk/manifesto.html

https://www.criptonoticias.com/colecciones/bitcoin-sueno-cypherpunk/

5532  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Pinnacle now accepts Bitcoins ! on: January 27, 2019, 08:53:19 PM
Are you referring to this website? https://www.pinnacle.com/en/ because they don't seem to have bitcoin at the bottom of their page as accepted option.

Anyway it could be better to post this in service discussion thread or something. But this is pretty good as well.
Yes. I got the information in their newsletter, maybe they will add it later (at bottom of their page).

They haven't added it to the footer, but hey have bitcoin in their payment methods as you can see on: https://www.pinnacle.com/en/payment-options

So, they accept BTC now. Let's give it a try and i will report if i have some problems with the withdraw.
5533  Other / Meta / Re: Weird newbie account with 2 merit wearing avatar? on: January 27, 2019, 05:56:28 PM
The copper membership allows those users to have an avatar. It should be a feature who come with the rising price of that membership. 0.0065 BTC isn't a bad price at all, but maybe the CM thread should be updated because it doesn't mention the Avatar.

5534  Local / Español (Spanish) / Re: El peor golpe al bitcoin on: January 27, 2019, 05:50:39 PM

5535  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Using an offline designated MacBook as an offline wallet in 2019? Is it safe? on: January 27, 2019, 04:47:52 PM
I've searched the forums, and the variations of this question are not often specific enough to get a solid answer, so here's my situation and question;

I have a solid answer for you.

How could that go wrong:

1.- The hard drive dies, this way you could lose the BTC
2.- Someone gets physical access to your mac and dump the PrivateKeys.
3.- You get hacked. (In some of those short 20min access to the web.)

In the end, there is no 100% secure way to hold btc, but i will recommend you to take a look to paper wallets. You can use programs like VanityGen to create an addy and private key, then put that info in a text file and the file inside zip with a password. That way your bitcoins are secured by a password. Or at least get a physical wallet like Ledger if you want to feel more secure.
5536  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Bitcoin address lost !!!! on: January 27, 2019, 04:32:49 PM
Hello I have to receive important funds on my address that I had generated randomly but impossible to get my private key. Would there be a way to find her?
1ZYCAZDis1rAZpgttUh3ViQcpJokraH3F

If it's 'impossible to get your private key', then is impossible to get those BTC. The only chance is if you had imported that addy to a wallet before, that way you should try to login in that wallet, and you will have access to those BTC. Other way they are gone.
5537  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is facebook creating their own crypto? on: January 27, 2019, 03:26:18 PM
I also heard that Facebook is developing a currency for payment in Whatsapp application. companies like google, facebook if participating in this market, it is very good news

You should give a source. Rumors are only that, and without a real source, this shit will stay a rumor.

After some googling i just find this: https://cointelegraph.com/news/bloomberg-facebook-is-developing-a-cryptocurrency-for-transfers-in-whatsapp

At the end it's true, Facebook really is working on his own crypto.
5538  Local / Servicios / Re: Localbitcoins Comprometido Ataque Phishing on: January 27, 2019, 03:19:23 PM

5540  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin to $10 million? on: January 25, 2019, 05:34:00 PM
If bitcoin goes to $10M then satoshi's fortune would be:

Code:
1000000*10000000

$10,000,000,000,000 Dollars, that's $10 Trillion Dollars (If I'm not wrong). And he would be in top 1 of the richest people in the world by far and he could pay hald of the USA debt with that.  Grin
