Notice how he avoids talking about this.

What can he say?   Unless he denies the northern lights exist, he has been proven a liar, again.

I can keep going for pages on how flat earth is impossible.

Learn here what aurora borealis really is:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P86E3_CJhG8

Did you watch that video?  He says over and over "I think" and "I believe".

Billions of people believe in a sky fairy.  We've shown that possibility is so close to zero it might as well be zero.

We know the northern lights form because the earth is rotating.

 Cool

What part of rope yourself don't you understand?

I understand you are as truthful with that comment as you are with the rest of this thread.  I'm feeding you - you'd miss me.   Wink

Anybody with a sextant can confirm it's about 3,000 miles, this is documented and there's nothing left for you to argue, please kill yourself.

Anybody with a sextant can confirm it's about 93,000,000 miles, actually.  You can buy a sextant and try it yourself.  That would be a good experiment for you, as you would learn that not everything you read is the truth.

I can tell you are getting tired - want to continue our discussion tomorrow?

 Cool

Don't know where you live, but I guess you have never see the northern lights.

They are caused by ions from the sun interacting with the earth's magnetic field.

Sphere Earth is filled with liquid metal, and it rotates inside turning our planet into a giant magnet.

I have seen the northern lights thousands of times.  That's yet another experiment I have done myself that proves the earth is rotating.

You have never done any experiment that proves the earth is flat, because they don't exist.

The distance to the Sun as measured by a sextant is 3,000 miles, guess what that proves?
"... No, it's 93 million miles. ..."

Just rope yourself. Anybody else who thinks a sextant lies about the angles it measures please kill yourself too, thanks.

The sextant shows the sun at 93 million miles.  It doesn't lie.  No one needs to kill themselves over your lies.

I'm sorry for providing so many facts that prove you wrong, but you've been trolling for 600 pages.  I know proof and facts won't stop your lies, but at least it gives me something to reference instead of typing the same thing over and over.

Now that we know the sun is 93 million miles away, let's chat about the moon!

Moon soil is not very reflective.  Luckily the men who walked on the moon left a mirror there.  Anyone can shoot a laser at the moon and have it bounce back.

If you try it, you expect the light to be returned in 0.03 seconds right?  (3,000 miles)

But it takes the light 1.3 seconds to return, showing the moon a LOT further away - much less distance than the sun, but still far outside the imaginary dome.

Maybe light is part of the conspiracy as well?

I've also been moving down for the past months, even though I don't get a lot of merit. Any idea why that is?

I remember being the 325th most merited not so long ago.

Only 18 merits needed to move that many places, as long as the people between 267 and 325 did not get any merit.

At this point, only place left to go is > 50.  Lips sealed

What number ranges did we eventually use for the different badges?

<=10 Gold
<=50 Silver
<=100 Bronze

Why else would I aim for >50?   Cheesy

Hmm, there are 24 even numbers between 1 and 50 - are you 24 years old?   Tongue

Now world religion is a controlling tool of spreading war.

Who cares about war and the death of a few million people?

Religion has convinced billions that a sky fairy will come clean up after them, so they have done nothing about global warming.

The chance of humanity not going extinct in the next century is in the single digits now.  :/

Meanwhile, Jehovah’s Witnesses choose not to vote as they also believe themselves politically neutral and live their lives by principles set out in the bible rather than government.

I believe religious people should not have the right to vote, as they are not of sound mind.  :/

Check out this awesome photo taken during the last solar eclipse.

I know you probably weren't cowering in your house like they did thousands of years ago, thinking the world was coming to an end...

You saw the eclipse.  They happen regularly.  And it proves the flat earth model with the moon and sun on opposite side is impossible.  Are you part of the conspiracy?

Pay attention to that word - impossible.  You're going to be reading that a lot until you start telling the truth.

Possibility a woman will get pregnant after sex:  15%-25%
Possibility a coin will land heads:  51%
Possibility there is no god:  99% (you can't disprove a fairy tale)
Possibility the earth is flat:  0%

Now - what kind of idiot continues to investigate something that has a 0% chance of being true - something impossible by definition?

 Cool

No, it's 93 million miles.  Guess what that proves?  You're a liar.

Radar uses radio waves which are the same as light but with longer wavelengths and they are affected by perspective the same as light. The pencil beam radar used in navy missile targeting systems can paint a target ship at over 100 miles; only possible on a flat Earth.

Radar is not affected by perspective.  Read that chart in this link again, made from the people who use the technology.  They must be in the conspiracy as well!

The Sun sets due to perspective, atmospheric conditions and elevation not withstanding.

The sun sets because the earth rotates.  We've known this for thousands of years.   Smiley

Sometimes I see the moon during the day.  You tell me I can't see the bright sun at night because of atmospheric conditions, yet I can see the much dimmer moon which is the same distance as the sun is at night.

Anyone seeing the moon during the day has just completed an experiment proving flat earth is impossible.   Are those billions of people also in your conspiracy?

Dude, any flattard garbage you post I can instantly debunk with common sense the entire planet will agree with.

That alone proves to me you know the earth is round and are just lying.

It wasn't out of nothing.  I copied your second to last post into Google, and found the site where you copied it word for word.

So you are a thief and a liar.  How proud your parents must be.

This is fucking insane, Vod is literally trying to discredit the sextant.

No, I'm not.  The sextant proves the sun is 93,000,000 miles away.

My new car has dynamic cruise control, thanks to eighty year old technology called radar.

The Ballistic Missile Early Warning System (BMEWS) accidentally gave a missile launch warning after it detected the moon (about 250,000 miles away) in 1960, so radar can work at least that far. And rader has been used to map the unseen surface topography of the planet Venus. But the useful range for ordinary airplane traffic seldom exceeds 100 miles.

The table on the link below shows the minimum altitude (rounded) a rader set on the ground (near sea level) can detect a flying object. Below that altitude, the earth's curved surface hides the object from the RADAR:

As you go up in height, you can detect objects further away.

On a flat earth, you could detect anything from anywhere.  But for common sense reasons, we cannot.

https://midimagic.sgc-hosting.com/radarfaq.htm

Is everyone driving a car with dynamic cruise control in on this conspiracy of yours?

Sorry, if vacations are not your thing, and you don't have any friends, here is a simple way to prove the radius of the earth.

1. Lie down and face the horizon (supine), as soon as you see the top of the Sun disappear below the horizon, start a stopwatch.

2. Stand-up as quickly as possible.  The Sun will reappear above the horizon

3. Once the top of the Sun disappears again, stop the stopwatch.   (Example 11.5 seconds)

We know that the earth revolves 360 degrees in 24 hours or in 86,400 seconds. So in 11.5 seconds, the angle that it revolves through is (360 degrees) * (11.5 / 86400) = 0.04791666 degrees.

4. Now you know angle rotated by earth (Ɵ) in 11.5 seconds, and you know your height H, you can use a little trigonometry to calculate the radius of the Earth R.

H you know, Ɵ you know the only unknown is R in this equation which is radius of Earth which can be calculated easily by putting values of known in the above equation.
cos(0. 04791666 degrees) = R / (R + H)
R = H * cos(0.04791666 degrees) / (1 – cos(0.04791666 degrees))
R = 6.22 * 106 m (close to the actual value of 6.38 * 106 m) = 6220 km

https://www.quora.com/When-and-how-did-scientists-measure-the-radius-of-the-earth

I'm sure someone else can dumb this down for you if you need.

For newcomers who may not understand the context here, Vod is trying to argue that a sextant can't measure distances so he can fraudulently claim the Sun is 93 million miles away.

Why do you ask for ways to prove it if you are not going to try them?

You can easily show yourself the sun in 93 miles away, but instead you choose to believe someone who says it is an IMPOSSIBLE three thousand.

If calling a friend is too difficult, try taking a vacation to a beach somewhere

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tide

Quote
Tides are the rise and fall of sea levels caused by the combined effects of the gravitational forces exerted by the Moon and the Sun, and the rotation of Earth.

Yes triangulation is used when measuring the distance to the Sun with a sextant and it's about 3,000 miles.

Stop believing what you are told. Test it yourself.

Measure the width of the sun with a ruler.  Call someone a distance away and have them measure the width of the sun.

Since the width is the same, that proves the sun can't be 3,000 miles away.  CAN'T.   IMPOSSIBLE.

So, I showed you how to prove to yourself the sun in 93,000,000 miles away.

Then you changed the subject with more copy/paste.
