Thanks again! Seems like going all in in single bet seems best way to go lol, either double or go home.
5563  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What's your gambling system? on: August 28, 2019, 10:50:46 AM
Thanks! I have discovered another 'strategy' where I had bit of luck last few days . I would love to have your results on it.

It works pretty much similar, just that after making winning bet twice in a row you don't reset to base bet rather come to it by decreasing by half until you reach base bet.

Start with 75% win chance, on lose double the next bet, make winning bet twice, decrease next bet after second winning bet by half.

Base bet: 0.1 eos (lose)

Next bet: 0.2 eos (lose)

Next bet: 0.4 eos

On win repeat the winning bet

next bet: 0. 4 eos

(now, don't go to base bet after win, go to it by decreasing it by half)

So your next bet: 0.2 eos

If you win

Next bet: 0.1 eos

Else

Next bet: 0.4 eos

Repeat..

It pains me to write, easier done than said 😂

Wazirx is the best, but if you are asking apart from it, you must give a try to Bitbns, very good volume over there.

Disagreed. You have to pay 10-20% tip to withdraw your money from there.

People get lured by price differences and try to arbitrage there unaware of withdrawal problems.
5565  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What withdrawal fee do you consider as fair in gambling sites? on: August 27, 2019, 03:54:52 AM
I have never used Bitcoin for betting, I use betting platforms on steem/eos, these chains do not have any fees for transfers.

All in all, I pay 0 withdrawal fees.
5566  Other / Meta / Re: Bitcointalk Quote Notifier on: August 25, 2019, 12:49:58 PM
Do you have notifications enabled system wide and also for the browser you are using?
Just googling about that and found this
Quote
Chrome does not send push notifications in iOS devices as Apple doesn't support this function. Apple does not support ‘Service Worker’ JavaScript for third party applications. Hence Chrome also does not offer any push notification service in macOS. Remember, the push notification will work on Safari and native macOS and iOS apps as a builtin feature.
So that's why all my browser except safari only shown a blank page, even though the article I read it will work on safari, but I've tried many times for test notification and it still not working.

Did op's website prompt you with 'allow push notifications' and did you allow it?

If the site is blank, it means the site initialization (it's built with React) has failed due to an uncaught error with service worker. I need to catch that error and display an appropriate message to users, will do it in next update.

I mean for safari browser, he said site works fine with Safari browser.

As for mobile, my site actually works just fine, because mobile browsers support push notifications too. I've tested it on my Android and mobile Chrome browser.
Nope not only on firefox, but my chrome, safari, and brave on IOS also don't work either.
It works on mobiles, what makes you think, it doesn't?
Well, I've tried it mate. here the screenshot of all browser all of them is blank page except for safari, but still, on safari I can't test notification either.

https://imgur.com/a/bWika2H I post to many images lately, so I just gave you all the link to an album for those 4 screenshots of browser I tested

5569  Other / Meta / Re: Bitcointalk Quote Notifier on: August 25, 2019, 03:27:00 AM
Edit : As op said, privacy oriented browsers and mobile Firefox don't work well, so problem is browser and not mobile device

Yes, I've noticed it today that my site doesn't work on mobile Firefox, not even test notifications are received, so I started investigating and found this: https://github.com/web-push-libs/web-push-php/issues/90

I've also tested other site that has push demo - https://serviceworke.rs/push-simple_demo.html and it didn't work with my Firefox mobile. From what I understand, it's some problem with the push endpoint, so I can't do anything about it.

Also, I've discovered strange behavior in Firefox desktop - overriding the default dom.webnotifications.requireinteraction.enabled makes service workers fail to render messages. Maybe it's a bug that should be reported to Mozilla, need to see if I can recreate it with other sites.

I get a continuous flow of PMs like this:
LoyceV, you have been mentioned in the following messages:

That looks like a bug, you should report it to Piggy.

Don't stress over it, there are plenty of browsers available, if Firefox doesn't work, user can use another.
5570  Other / Meta / Re: Bitcointalk Quote Notifier on: August 25, 2019, 02:45:43 AM
Wait, so that bot does work with native bitcointalk quotes? If true, then my whole project was useless, because then the only difference between us is that I use push notifications, which not everyone seem to like anyway.
Yup works with quotes. but your project not useless at all, cause it's easy and simply work with a single click of a button. if someone not enabling Maggiordomo bot cause they too lazy to do all the task require they will choose this one. but the downside is this notification only work for desktop and not a mobile phone, while Maggiordomo can pm you on telegram.

It works on mobiles, what makes you think, it doesn't?

Honestly, i don't understand why this feature still isn't implemented natively in SMF.

All these mention bots are kind of useless when you don't know who has their mentions enabled, and who doesn't. (edit:This bot only does quotes, but i also saw a different bot that did @*s)

Although i guess quoting also mentions you, still, it's all pretty user-unfriendly... Would it be so hard for theymos to natively implement something like this in SMF like he did with the merit system?
I know it's supposedly in the new forum but looking at the timelines it's a pretty difficult guess grasping when / if that's ever coming out.

Agreed. This needs to be implemented natively already.

5572  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] GOLD - First 100% Liquid Stablecoin Backed by Gold on: August 25, 2019, 02:06:15 AM
Try getting Gold token listed on KyberSwap (https://kyberswap.com) — it is one the best instant exchange platforms on ethereum blockchain.

I think Digital Gold will be listed on the popular exchange, because that will be a lot of its appeal, and wherever the exchange is definitely GOLD very interested.

How do you mean? It's well established in ethereum community.

When one want to convert one token to another fast, instant exchanges are way to go. They are much better than traditional ones — no account, no deposit/withdrawals, conversion gets completed in few clicks and you only pay network fees.
5573  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / I can't decide title, but this is something about Ethereum! on: August 24, 2019, 03:58:29 AM
This is shorter and (bit) updated version of my Using Ethereum guide that I posted a while back on my steem account for MEW competition.

1) Difference between Ethereum and Ether

Ethereum is network/platform where Dapps run, when Ether is fuel that powers the network. Ether is how people pay for things in the ethereum network. For example, you need Ether to pay fees.

When somebody says that he has invested in ethereum, he has actually bought ether.

2) Transaction Fees on Ethereum

On ethereum platform transaction fees are calculated on two measures. Gas Price and Gas Limit.

Gas limit means the highest amount of gas you are willing to spend on transaction. Ether transactions require gas limit of 21,000 and Token transactions require 200,000.

Transaction Fees = Gas price*Gas limit

For example, if you chose 4 gwei Gas Price and 200,000 Gas Limit then your max transaction cost would be:

200000*4=800000 Gwei

Converting to ether: https://converter.murkin.me — That would be 0.0008 Eth.

How much gas price should you choose? Check: https://ethgasstation.info/

If you get 'Out of gas' error, you need to increase the gas limit.

3) Trading Ethereum Based Tokens on Forkdelta

You can trade all Ethereum based tokens whether they are officially listed or not by using token's contract address.

Get the contract address of token: https://etherscan.io/tokens

Change 'DAI' to token contract address and hit go: https://forkdelta.app/#!/trade/DAI-ETH

4) Tracking Balances using deltabalances

Enter your address, and be amazed! - https://deltabalances.github.io

5) Withdrawing from forkdelta when it's offline

Smart contracts reside on Blockchain and there is no way they can be taken down. Forkdelta/etherdelta works on smart contract so even if of they go offline you can withdraw your funds.

None out of 100 000 gamblers was lucky enough to make 1000 $ out of 500$ with 1 $ initial bet. That's because you do not cover your losses with wins because payout is too small thus you are constantly going down with your portfolio.

Did you made the winning bet twice? Profitability depends on repeat winning bet.

You mean that i need to win twice in a raw to reset bet size to default? Because i'm not sure if i understand it correctly.

Yes that's right. Reset bet amount after winning twice in a raw.

Edit: what results did your simulations yield?

5577  Other / Meta / Re: Since 2018, what did you contribute to prevent signature ads removed globally? on: August 23, 2019, 03:09:02 AM
The forum will become heaven for those who are here for discussions.

Really i would like to see how many are here only for discussions without any money related benefit. I am saying this because signatures are worn by not only spammers but also the very good posters are wearing signatures too.

It is obvious that spammers will go away (when they find no money) but those good posters with paid signatures will stay or leave ?

Depends on person. Some might have made this forum a home, so they will stay here with their fellow beings while some may leave who were here for money benefit  — good posters with paid signatures.
5578  Other / Meta / Re: Extension for Bitcointalk ? Do you want it ? on: August 22, 2019, 05:01:50 AM
I'm just curious, what for? Extensions are made to enhance the functionality of a website or something. E.g., Grammarly. I love using it to improve my grammar when I'm posting here in BTCT. How and what would be the purpose of having a Bitcointalk Extension?

One thought came into mind that this might be misused and insert malware to copy the account username and password.
As in the post I found, users only install and press the buttons, all in one.
About the source code of the extension will be open source, and to be accepted by Google, the scripts must be clean.

You can't depend on Google checks, many spam/scam extensions make to the store and more often than not someone gets scammed before Google comes to know about it.

I already have 3 functions, it will be announced in the next few days.
I have a lot of ideas.

That is looking neat, great job! I'd suggest feature to change text color too.
5579  Other / Meta / Re: Spam Sections on: August 22, 2019, 04:52:34 AM
Imho Politics & Society and Speculation are more spammy than your list. But as said, it depends from one user to another how he perceives certain posts as spam.
All in all, most of the forum has big amounts of spam, unfortunately. Simply some manage to ignore it better than others.

Signature campaigns usually do not count posts in those sections, so how come users spam there? What's incentive?

If they still spam irrespective of signature campaigns, then the issue is something else, not signature campaigns, which everybody keeps saying.
5580  Other / Meta / Re: @small improvement request. In merited posts, show your name in red or bold or.. on: August 22, 2019, 04:46:18 AM
crtl+f and type your name.

Thanks for pointing that out although not everyone uses a computer to access the forum, majority should be using their smartphone which aren't equiped with this function. OP"s suggestion will benefit both Mobile and Laptop users as it can be easily spotted without any effort.

@iasenko ok I get it although I would had prefer It to be more visible with highlighted red color. If this suggestions was to be implemented it should be red.

Afaik all smartphones browsers come with 'find' function.

Let me know which browser you use I'll help you use find function)

My proposal is:
- Username of logged-in user appear first in the list of merit senders
- Top merit senders after logged-in username.
- A drop-down list of merit senders (in descending orders). That list will help to save more space under topic title; and if anyone want to click on drop-down list. This feature can be modified in profile page.

I second that.
