5561  Economy / Economics / Re: Your plan if no significant move on Bitcoin price along with the halving? on: December 23, 2019, 10:26:14 AM
Can you not make a poll for this?
Yeah creating a poll is a good idea
You are right. But It is already created.  Cheesy  Maybe I will make a poll for the next topic. Thanks for the suggestion, sir.

-snip-
As for the original question I'll sit and do nothing. We come and go in waves. At some point another wave will arrive. It may have nothing to do with the halving at all.
I like the way how you answer my questions above. It's simple but clear enough.

Good question. I never really have thought about this that much since I'm more positive in Bitcoin's halving.
Thanks, buddy. But sometimes you need to think about how to anticipate if you get the worse result. We mustn't be like an amateur investor that feels doubt and panic because of experiencing an unexpected situation.  Wink

5563  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: My New Year Resolution For Bitcointalk on: December 23, 2019, 08:51:03 AM
Firstly, I think this thread should be in Meta [https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=24.0].

1. theymos, moderators, and co shouldn't guarantee the success of crypto investors. They must be smarter and more careful to avoid scam projects. Forum has already taken some actions to wipe out scams/scammers. There are many members that already did regular reports for scam cases. And give red-trust to all parties involved in that scams.

2. We can see the reputation of each bounty manager. Simply choose bounty managers with green-trust accounts and avoid/ignore managers with red-trust accounts.

It is already another new week after my first submission. Does it mean I can apply again 2 links of my personal posts, sir?
5566  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What sets the price of Bitcoin? on: December 23, 2019, 08:04:11 AM
But in my noob understanding, market makers are the real ones who set the price of Bitcoin.

I know someone who has a big hand to support the improvement of member's rank, especially for Indonesian members. He is dbshck, one of the most important contributors to Merit's distribution.

Happy holidays everybody!
5568  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Too many projects is bad on: December 22, 2019, 11:14:29 PM
-snip- if the altcoin market manages one good project out of the many that it produces daily, then it's a success for the altcoin market
Probably, it is difficult to define "good project" because so far many good projects are offered, but they end as same in the dumped price. I also agree with your interesting quote:
Searching for good altcoin projects is now similar to looking for a needle in a haystack
It means that it is so hard to find whether the team offers promising profits and investment, in fact, so far, many projects are failed or worse to be a scam. That is why I'm personally very careful when going to participate in the new projects. I do not mean to underestimate the new projects, but it is better to be more careful in choosing them in order to avoid the scam, failed projects, or even dump coins.

What do you mean the team must have a Buy Back program? If the team keeps track of prices I think they must have the program, it can make the project stronger in terms of trust in the community
Unfortunately, not all of the team of new projects will do that tracking. Or even they do such tracking of the price on the market, they cannot do many things because the price really depends on the market, token holders, and also the investors.
Actually, I am also interested in the project with the "Buyback program". But unfortunately, there are only a few projects that will do the same.

Last words, I only expect (everybody also) that the crypto market will run better again, offering the product with the real use case and proven enough. Also, there may be some new tighter regulations to avoid scams (even it is very difficult).
5569  Other / Meta / Re: Can Merit Sources for Specific Sub-Forum use sMerit outside of that Sub-Forum? on: December 22, 2019, 09:14:43 PM
As far as I know, we can use sMerit to all boards. Agree with @LoyceV, there is no restriction on it. So, certainly, he/she can use sMerit outside of Russian sub-forum. Do you have a problem with that thing, buddy? And what is wrong on service announcements?
5570  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Outclasses Other Cryptocurrencies as an Investment Option, Here’s Why on: December 22, 2019, 09:05:32 PM
They are focused on Bitcoin because it's the best performer, simple as that. They don't care about the technology, decentralization and all that stuff, alts were hyped because they showed great performance, they looked like the next cool thing, but now that their bubble has popped,
I agree with you. Since only Bitcoin can prove that it is the safest crypto investment, it makes sense for people to focus on Bitcoin. Everyone must know that altcoin season seems still far away, while Bitcoin probably to have a good season in 2020 or 2021. So, they prepare themselves for this, while trading weekly to get faster income. Then, they leave altcoins that have too complicated problems.
5571  Other / Meta / Re: Script to Change Bitcointalk Background Color on: December 21, 2019, 11:11:26 PM
This for background only not a theme.
You have seen a script only one line
Yeah, that's why I said :

-snip- a better theme or background color. -snip-
I know it is applied for background only. It can be seen easily from the two examples above.

No offense, but with this look I am better off using default version.
Me too. I speak honestly, the same as you, no offense. It may depend on our point of view.
However, viewed in terms of creativity, this creation is well enough.  Smiley

5572  Other / Meta / Re: Script to Change Bitcointalk Background Color on: December 21, 2019, 09:55:14 AM
It is great that we know alternative background colors. But I am just considering a better theme or background color. Those two pictures above seem not better than the default one. I'm not trying to underestimate someone's work. I just deliver my opinion honestly, buddy.

*Choose the color that is friendly to our eyes. Comfort is the main point, then color art.  Wink
5573  Economy / Economics / Your plan if no significant move on Bitcoin price along with the halving? on: December 21, 2019, 08:54:17 AM
- First halving, on November 2012 : Bitcoin increased from $11 to $1,100 in 2013 (one year later)
- Second halving, on July 2016 : Bitcoin increased from $600 to $20,000 in 2017 (one year later)
- Third halving, on May 2020 : Bitcoin increased from $6,000-$8,000 to $??? in 2021 (one year later)

We all know based on the historical data, Bitcoin should increase more than $20,000 in 2021. The first and second halving have proven significant moves on Bitcoin values. So, it makes sense if we believe that in 2021 will be another great year for Bitcoin.

However, who knows about it. No guarantee for the rising of Bitcoin value. Since Bitcoin is decentralized and no authority to have the responsibility, a bad scenario may happen to break off our expectations. So, how if there is no significant move on Bitcoin price in the upcoming halving? What is your plan as a Bitcoin holder?

- Disappointed and directly trade all holding Bitcoins.
- Keep holding until the next rising.
- No idea. I will think and replan later.
- Others (Write down on your reply).

*Sorry if this topic was already discussed before. I've used the search button and find out no result.
5574  Economy / Reputation / Re: [Motivation BITCOIN4X] From Newbi To Senior Member - Self Made !!! on: December 21, 2019, 12:58:49 AM
You did awesome efforts, buddy. Even if my account is older than yours, but you can step on a higher level than me. Of course, it is because of your dedication, strong belief, serious efforts, and constant attempts.

I would like to agree with your statement above about something that we must realize :
-snip-
But I began to realize that, without efforts to improve my quality, expand knowledge that could be implemented in the post, I would never be promoted to the next rank.
-snip-

Unfortunately, I'm just aware of it. But I think it is not too late for me. I believe that I also can reach what you and others can achieve.
Thanks for the inspiring history above. Good luck to us. Smiley
5575  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Who holds the most bitcoins? on: December 20, 2019, 11:34:36 PM
Me.  I own the most bitcoins.  Prove me wrong?
Nice joke. It is probably wrong. You will be quite busy to trade your Bitcoin if you have the most. I've checked your post history, your current posts were not in economics or trading discussion, so it means you are not monitoring the market trends. This makes me doubt that you are one of the people holding the most Bitcoin.

However, I think your intention is to make us aware that no one knows who is holding the most Bitcoins. Am I wrong?   Smiley
5576  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Moneygram and Ripple on: December 20, 2019, 11:14:30 PM
It's because they use the technology of Ripple so what they do have to say? of course, they'll tell good things about it.
Indeed. There is always a reason behind a surprising statement from a popular person like MoneyGram CEO. Since they are using Ripple technology, we can assume it is a bit subjective.  Cheesy But yes, we shouldn't claim that there is no chance for Ripple to be a global payment. Nothing impossible as long as Ripple is supported by many banks.

It's a useful thread, friend. It should be very helpful for lower rank members like me. Spammy posts make everything hard to be merited and rank up. The only way to improve the level is by making quality posts. Anyway, I have also little tips to make better posts and avoid being called by spam posts. Even if I'm also still trying to apply it, but why don't to share it.  Cheesy

I translate the quote above. See below:

3. They are written in proper punctuation.

4. On topic.
They must be always related to topics.

5. Unique.
    Must be different than others.

6. No copy-paste/plagiarism.

7. Easy to understand.
5579  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will Bitcoin price pump to $20k dollars next year? on: December 20, 2019, 11:00:45 AM
Let's see the historical data:
- First halving, on November 2012 : Bitcoin increased from $11 to $1,100 in 2013 (one year later)
- Second halving, on July 2016 : Bitcoin increased from $600 to $20,000 in 2017 (one year later)
- Third halving, on May 2020 : Bitcoin increased from $6,000-$8,000 to $??? in 2021 (one year later)

Based on historical data, the maximum rate of BTC in 2021 (not in 2020) should be more than $20,000 (ATH in the second halving).
However, there is no guarantee, mate.  Wink
