5561  Other / Off-topic / Re: Online Shopping on: August 28, 2020, 06:26:25 AM
Online shopping is the future, we will see more and more physical stores closing in the future and only the major brands survive. But online shopping will dominate them all eventually. People like to be lazy, so getting the struff shipped straight to your door will be the main delivery eventually. The corona pandemic is just accelerating the issue. The real problem I see here is that with you don't get any sales person looking after you when shopping online. All the research need to be done by yourself so you can choose between different products with the same characteristics. Just choosing based on price is not always the best solution.
5562  Economy / Economics / Re: How long will it take banks to phase out physical cash completely? on: August 27, 2020, 02:52:40 PM
I think the phase out of physical cash are not going to happen because a lot of people not know how to use cashless transaction and they still prefer the traditional way and beside some of the other places has no access of internet and there are still many people don't have a smart phone. But as time goes by using digital transaction will adopt little by little.

I agree, there are still plenty of generations out there who love to use cash. My grandparents always used cash. Using electronic payments is just in there nature. For young people today it's common to only pay by card. I would assume that until the z generation is in retirement we will see companies and stores accepting cash. In my country its still mandatory for business to accept small denomination coins.
5563  Other / Off-topic / Re: Your favorite soup on: August 27, 2020, 02:46:06 PM
A chicken vegetable soup is the best for me. It's super healthy not fat and perfect against why cold. I usually just eat soup in the winter against colds and to strengthen my immune system. My special incredient is adding chilli's to make a bit spicy.
5564  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is this considered cheating? or Ilegal? on: August 27, 2020, 01:53:44 PM
This means we must not play in many sites when we can have our loyalty in sites that is legit and being trusted for many years.
As a gambler we must be aware of scams from sites and how they work to gain the money of players without them not having a chance to win it back.
Be informative each time because gambling can take our money is any way and by any chance.

I am totally with you, we as the gamblers and users of such casinos need to unite and only reward trusted casinos who have been around for a long time. The forum here is doing a good job on sorting out the bad from the good casinos. Reviews from trusted members are more and more important and should be flagged if they find a casinos ripping of their players. It's just not fair for anyone if the game is rigged and we can't win out money back. There shouldn't be any chance anymore for rigged games to be around if we would all check the trustworthiness before gambling. Personally I stick to casinos who have been around for years with a good track record.
5565  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Legal Matter on: August 27, 2020, 01:49:31 PM
What do you guys think?
Should the government allow it more openly?

We have at the moment the 2020 World Series of Poker Online running with a lot of players from USA, but the company ggpoker is based in Curaçao. I think USA should start changing their laws to accept online casinos be based in their country too. It would give the players and gamblers a lot of more security if the company would be based within USA. In case of lawsuits people are just much more familiar with USA law than some smaller offshore countries. I would appreciate if all countries would be more open towards online gambling and casinos. Better to regulate it and profit of the tax revenues than to ouright ban it.
5566  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Regulations in online Gambling sites on: August 27, 2020, 09:11:05 AM
If regulatory to online gambling casino will be push through then high chances that it will going to centralization. This is the problem with the government because they are not really at help when they will just make online gambling casino as milking cow getting taxes and licences for them but the service for protection is not being done and mosy government are reactive to phenomenon. Since online gambling is new then high chances that government could be facing difficulties in solving the problems that will be encounter.

The problem with online regulation is that all countries would need to work together. As long as countries keep doing their taxation and regulation for online casinos only on a national level, we will see casinos just exploiting countries. It's very easy in todays times to move the headquarter of a company abroad. We need all major countries to work together on a fair regulation for online casinos. This would increase security for gamblers and also help governments to control the market.
5567  Other / Politics & Society / Re: social distancing ? covid on: August 27, 2020, 08:56:45 AM
The social distancing policy seemed quite easy as it's started but probably the most difficult to keep because, you can't really keep individuals away from each other. We've got to make contacts but then, other policies could still be adhered to with little discomfort for a good course.

I agree, social distancing is quite easy to enforce. Everyone should follow the rules. I believe that if all people would have done social distancing we could have contained the corona virus much better. Just looking at the big public gatherings at the beginning of the pandemic and mass infections from these events, we could have contained corona much better at the start. But then again people didn't really believe in the beginning.
5568  Other / Off-topic / Re: Why is Discord so popular? on: August 27, 2020, 08:43:49 AM
Discord gained popularity due to the gaming industry.
There is so much ease in using for voice chats, calls, etc.
Telegram started operating a lot after Discord was already popular.

One other feature I really enjoy in Discord are the music bots. You get free music all the time from playlist - it's like spotify just included in Discord. And you don't need any premium version - it's all free and without ads. I can recommend Discord for anyone.
5569  Economy / Economics / Re: Will bailouts become more frequent? on: August 27, 2020, 08:37:25 AM
1989 - savings and loans bailout
2008 - banks bailout
2020 - covid19 bailout aka wall street bailout

bailouts get bigger every time. But will they become more frequent?? Do we need more bailouts to bailout the aftermath of the previous bailouts?

I don't think the banks are the problem at the moment. Bailing out Wall street again at the moment doesn't seem very likely. We probably will see more support for real economy rather than for financial services. The problem is that demand and consumption dropped in the real economy. People are losing their jobs and have less money to spend, the ones that still have a job and get a regular paycheck rather save then spend their money. Didn't most banks in 2008 paid back there bailout money? I think the government even made profits on some of the loans.
5570  Other / Off-topic / Re: What Do you do in your free time? on: August 27, 2020, 08:12:16 AM
I am going on vacation with my wife and children.
Spend my free time with them.

I wish corona number would go down again. I am still afraid to go for a real vacation. So fart I only took 1 week this year and still saving the rest of my vacation.

Most of my free time I just spend on riding my bike, reading, and playing poker.
5571  Other / Off-topic / Re: If you have $20k then where you want use it? on: August 26, 2020, 04:26:41 PM
I like "Real Life Business", I will open a food store because food is always consumed by everyone.

I would like to a open a real life business too myself. But not sure if 20k would be really enough. I have been saving for a long time, most of it in either stocks or crypto. I think diversification is the key here. Not sure if I should be switching some of the money into commodities or maybe a real estate fund. Both area where on the rise strongly on the last month but should hold their value if the crisis continues.
5572  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ARE ICOS STILL LEGIT? on: August 26, 2020, 10:40:32 AM
Too many ico I found that ended up being a scam, I have invested in DAV tokens and Heal Tokens, both of them are scams. there are some new tokens not running ICO just mining but those tokens are successful and the price always goes up.

I agree, there are many bad apples in ICO. Personally I am much more cautious now and try to not go for the ICO directly anymore. It's better in my opinion to wait a few weeks and see how actively the altcoins are traded after their launch. What is the point to be part of a big ICO just to see all people running for the exit afterwards.
There can still be a lot of value in ICO but I think the due diligence needs to be very good and I just don't always have the time for that. Always better to make your own research than just following other people.
5573  Economy / Economics / Re: Btc/eth denominated mortgage or traditional serious borrowing in cryptocurrency? on: August 26, 2020, 10:36:09 AM

The real problem is that when you take a loan, it’s important to borrow in the same currency you earn. Not to borrow in the currency of your country. The risk is that your income can decrease in real terms or that your debt increase in real terms. If you borrow in the same cucurrency and that your income decrease, your debt will do the same.

This is basically it. Taking out a mortgage usually means to have obligations for the next 20 years. When you being paid in Fiat but want to get a loan in crypto currencies, you are running a huge FX risk. Imagine the bitcoin price goes up 200% in the next 10 years. Your monthly loan payments would skyrocket. Sure it go the other way round, but do honestly expect the bitcoin price to drop in the long run? I would advise against such risks if you are not being paid in cryptos.
If your salary is in cryptos then of course you are in much better position if you take out a loan in FIAT and repay with cryptos, as prices are expected to rise in the long run.
5574  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Phycho-political side of why boxers wear protective gear or mouth guard on: August 26, 2020, 10:21:58 AM

anyway the reality of the psychology (not the physical) is by having a mouthguard they can bite down on something and take the pain and not worry about biting their tongue

I think this is the main reason why in any combat sport where you are allowed to hit the head have to wear a mouth piece. The risk of getting a seizure and just biting down on your tongue is just to big. Just look at the many knock out videos where people completely paralyse for a few seconds. Imagining them biting down on their tongue you would be able to save the tongue. The teeth are definitely also important but could more easily be saved at a later stage. Having new teeth is not so severe as losing your tongue. You wouldn't be able to speak or taste anything anymore.
5575  Other / Off-topic / Re: Take care of your health and earn Bitcoin on: August 26, 2020, 10:05:11 AM
This sounds nice, but how much can you actually save with that? Would it be enough to run your PC or TV? Or maybe the lights? Did you check it? I mean you will need to make an investment first into all that equipment, which will cost a lot of money probably. Don't get me wrong, exercise is very important. But if you spend all your day at home and then exercise at home too it's not so good for your mind. It would be much better if you go outside to get fresh air while running. Plus working out outside of your home is free.
5576  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: VALORANT Betting on: August 26, 2020, 09:46:22 AM
I am not so familiar with Valorant yet, only played a little and definitely still a beginner and didn't bet yet. I used to play CSGO a lot and did some betting during the majors. Always tried to focus on LAN games with my favourite teams. In CSGO I usually bet for Keys or Skins later and managed to get 2 knifes when I got really lucky.
Are you betting for Fiat currency or cryptos? With a nice sign up bonus I might give it a try this weekend.
5577  Economy / Economics / Re: Another company buying bitcoin as capital allocation strategy on: August 26, 2020, 09:33:29 AM
Quote

On one hand, you have a group of people who think an ever expanding monetary base and increasing amounts of government debt doesn’t matter as long as “inflation” is low.

On the other hand, you have many people who believe that quantitative easing and increasing government debt levels are leading to asset price inflation and a widening wealth gap.

The article is very interesting. I definitely belong to the second group, as do most on this forum I assume. Always good to hear that more companies move into crypto currencies. I think that more and more companies will eventually realise that just relying on Fiat is not the way to go. In the long run this is just another factor for bitcoins to go up as most countries will keep continuing to expand their monetary base and government debt.

5578  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Donald Trump signs executive orders banning TikTok and WeChat on: August 26, 2020, 09:14:27 AM
How the hell would you sue USA or Trump? If it was just a regular company I would understand, hell Trump could ban Twitter itself because he is a butthurt person and he would definitely do his best to make sure he "wins" over someone when in fact he is obviously losing. When twitter shuts him up dude wanted to shut twitter down in response, that is his response to anything, either they love trump or they will be shut down, he is a pure fascist.

However tiktok is literally stealing data by the bunches, it makes sense that any nation would ban tiktok because why would anyone want to have some chinese company have some sort of data breach into their own nation and provide all that sensitive information to a foreign nation, one that is so dangerous. That is why I think it makes sense, the lawsuit would be for nothing at all.

I agree, how can people argue against banning TikTok. No one knows for sure how close the ties to the communist party are. How we guarantee that our data is not stored in China? Also, don't forget that WhatsApp and Instagram is banned in China. Why should chinese Apps be allowed outside of China, if they ban western technology? Unban foreign technology first, than we can talk about accepting chinese Apps. But they would never do that because they wouldn't be apply to control the information being displayed. This is just another form of censorships we need to stick up against.
5579  Economy / Economics / Re: Pandemic Coronvirus Impact On Global economy on: August 26, 2020, 07:38:20 AM
The last few big crisis we saw over the past 20 years where are financial crisis (tech stock crisis, bank crisis, European sovereign crisis) they all were involving the financial sector. Which made crypto currencies so attractive as they are decentralised and an alternative to the big banks. The corona pandemic is very different unfortunately as it affects everybody immediately and is kit abstract as in the past. We all see the immediate effects of wearing masks, closed public places and social distancing. I don't think that decentralisation is the answer to the current crisis. If people are left alone with corona they don't follow any rules anymore. Without the government and strict rules on travelling and having big meetings like sport events, the virus would have spread so much faster.
5580  Other / Off-topic / Re: Please tell me how to start income from youtube ? on: August 26, 2020, 07:03:35 AM
Hi! I'm Kurt
I got covid-19 crisis. I don't have enough money to start a trading business. I think Youtube is another way to make money. So,please tell me how to start income from youtube ? Any help would be great. Thanks for helping.

First of all find a topic that interests you, where you could make something interesting for others to watch. I would recommend you to make a viable channel that will grow over time. Many people on youtube just try to upload vidoes from other people and profit of it, until they get hit by youtube or the owner of the videos and lose all rights to make money of it.
If you are into history and documentaries I would recommend make a channel with new content about the past. I see a lot of demand about such topics on youtube. Once you have some viewers you will profit from the youtube Ads in your video, additionally you can ask for support from your viewers via Patreon and on top of that I would recommend looking for a sponsor if you have a consistent numbers of viewers per month.
Don't get me wrong, this will be hard work to make a big channel, but it's a good time to start.
