Looks like my 9/2 order is stuck in customs in Cincinnati.  Although DHL claimed a 10/12 delivery, its now 9:30pm local and I think its safe to say its not coming.  No update on the DHL site since yesterday at 5pm.  Last status was "Clearance event".

Bummed.

My DHL is horrible.  It varies greatly by area and who is doing yours.  They have a driver that has X territory.   If your in center of territory of driver most likely awesome service.  But those on edge sucks.

My DHL driver calls every time on first day and says I can meet him at a certain spot at end of day if I want it that day.  Or I can wait till next day and he will drive it. By doing this my driver get's some people to drive to him like me when it's a miner.   He saves money on gas and get's credit for a delivery it's really screwed up but he can do it.

I avoid DHL like the plague. But as I said if your in center of territory likely good service.

last few times ive gotten something from dhl they gave it to usps and i got it a day or two later then i should have Sad

That means your at the edge of that person's route.   It's crazy how they divide area up.  But they do crazy things to the edges of the route when delivery.

So that driver decided he did not want to drive to your place.  So he got it shipped through another company.  Most shipping companies would never do this, but DHL allows drivers a LOT of leeway on what they do.
5582  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Antminer S7 on Hashnest on: October 13, 2015, 02:40:19 AM
My crystal ball is a little hazy but I suspect soon all the S7 hash bought as a speculation will be sold. I see a large gap between bid and ask at Hashnest with buyers with largest bids between .0015 and .0017. If bitcoin price started trending down S7 price could easily crash from .0019 to .0016. Not to mention at current price S5 is the better buy as it is considerably more profitable. My bids are in under .0016 otherwise I would rather own S5.

yeah s5 = 0.000733
 and s7 =  0.001933

that ratio is wrong the s-5 is a bargain

or the s-7 is overpriced.

at 0.000733 an entire s5 = 0.84295 btc  which is under 210 usd

at 0.001933 an entire s7 = 9.39438 btc which is over  2254 usd

Thinking of cloud and pricing.  I remember you pointing V4 looked not near as good on PACMiC.

Did you figure out if PACMiC v4 is typed wrong?  Or if it is that much worse then V3?

and with only 378 blocks left we may be unable to go a lot over 1%

I really like the sound of that.  A 1 percent change considering it's a arms race going on with asics is really amazing.

Sometime though the rest of B1 S7 that did not ship will be made, and B2/3.   But I highly doubt they go out in 3 day's on batch 2/3 "Oct. 15 ~ 25 (if shipped out 10 days later than it, it won't be considered as delay ).".  But there is a wave coming with S7's.

Next adj will be nasty

Probably like something we haven't seen in a while.

Most likely as it should be more then a single batch going out, which even sounds scary.  Only thing that gives a little hope is B2/B3 are still open.... so a tad bit of hope since did not sell out.

But B2/3 price was looking nice at a point and I think grabbed some people to buy one with one of those coupons for 100 off.  But with recent S7 compensation sales I think will slow down (chances are already did).

But I would agree next one will look ugly.  Possibly one after it depending on shipping.
5585  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: BTC Guild ROBBED Me!! on: October 13, 2015, 02:09:33 AM
Alright, maybe the clickbait was a bit spammy. But like I said, if it didn't get anyone's attention, it would defeat the purpose of the threat.

It is spammy and worse you are making a fake claim.  You are saying you were robbed by BTC Guild.

Anyone who has logged in for past few months should know about what is happening to pool.  It's not a surprise they gave a lot of time, shutting it down very professionally and still are due respect.

You are making false accusations to grab clicks.  The ends don't justify the means.  I suggest changing this to an accurate title, or I predict you get some neg trust.  eleuthria has every right to neg trust you if you don't change this title.
5586  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Hi Newbie here with a few questions! on: October 13, 2015, 01:57:07 AM
Hi I'm Nyx2011 and I'm wondering what the best way to earn btc is at the moment? Are physical goods better to deal in than digital? What are the advantages of using bitcoin in my shops?

The big question is what kind off shops do you have?   Physical and digital both have their places.  So it would depend on what product you carry in your shop you talk about.

There is not one best way to make BTC.  Find your niche is the best and go with it.  It might take a bit but the best profit differs from person to person.  Just a lot of individual factors that everyone does not share.

Well I mostly build and sell secure laptops, but I have a few
Digital goods that can be sold as well.

What do you mean by "build and sell secure laptops"?  For most part it is actually pretty hard to build a laptop just is not like a desktop on being able to build.   And add secure to that I'm unsure what product it is.

Do you have a link to a example of this product?  It would be a hardware good. But I'm interested to see what it is.

I buy used laptops, refurbish them and install either tails, or Kali Linux to them, along with tor and some other stuff and then sell them.
You can sell those in the computer hardware section of the marketplace. Make sure that you use an escrow and document everything with photos that you can prove you took them (e.g. paper with bitcointalk name on it). Also use package tracking to prove that you shipped the package and whatever happened in between isn't your fault. You should probably also state your return policy and what you will do if the package is lost.

Yea hardware section will be the place for that. The this is a pretty high tech community for the most part.   So getting someone to pay for loading a OS here might be kinda hard.  Not near as easy as non-technical users.

But if you have good deals as far as price likely you will find a venue here.  I think it will be more about the price of laptop then the OS loaded in most cases on this forum that makes the value.

But best of luck to you.  Love to see more business accept BTC.

Fuck, I can't sleep. I'm too worried that the 6x miners I receive tomorrow will be from Batch 2, and under perform. Then I'm basically fucked, don't know how I will react or what I will do.

I heard  that batch 2 will run at 600mhz at 4800 but the wattage is 1300

You will have them in hand
Right now that is gold

My batch one came set at 575 running 4600 solid.

If my B1 order machines are hashing at 4600... I won't accept that, seriously.
As far as I'm concerned these are Bitmains options:
-Full refund.
-Ship me new machines for free, and pay shipping for the slow ones to be sent back. (With 200 GH/s hashing power per miner at hashnest until I receive new units).

This is about respect and honoring the agreement we made. I promise you all, they (Jihan Wu) won't get away with it.

man, don't wind yourself up so much..
I hope that it works out.
See below:
the S7 play is on potential btc dollar value rise, nothing else.
the breakeven is more than 12mo otherwise at 0.1 power
calculator shows just $57 difference in profitability (actually, small loss) between 4.86/1210w and 4.66/1160w machines by october 2016.
i don't think it takes halving into consideration, though.

Is there anyone that has actually had both one on spec miner and one sub par one?   I would love to see if the watts really work out to what they say.

Does anyone know if anyone has tried this an shown like a kill-a-watt with both miners using same PSU?
5588  Other / Meta / Re: Signature Campaign section? on: October 13, 2015, 01:49:29 AM
I have added a poll with options that I think summarize what most people have been saying. Like I said, I understand the cons but IMHO the positives outweigh the negatives.

You got a pretty good anwser already from Lauda.  It is not going to happen.

It really is hard to get a new thread or sub thread.  It is VERY rare that it actually happens.  A good example is look at the Philippines trying to get a subsection - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1112318.0 . It is a pretty good example of how it is not easy and takes lots and lots of support.  And they still have not got one.

I'm throwing some U3's over here for a few days for fun.  Figure it will be a fun way to test my results without using to much money in gear.

I'm looking forward to trying this pool though.  Always found it intresting to say the least when it has great time with blocks.   Looks like last few blocks have not been to friendly though.

Don't forget this pool reward at full potential  only after 5x the total share of the current difficulty.

That means you may have to let your u3 1+ week before you get the full reward on your payout!

Happy mining Smiley

Thank you for this!  I would have wondered what was happening.  Guess I missed that.

Is this to reward those who stay long term with pool?  Or what is main reasoning?

Yes, good for him. Well done. If the demand for S7 was not there he would have had to sell at a loss, or probably just keep it for the mining income.

I think OP has the most profitable S7 experience yet.   Others will wait a LONG time and hope to get profit like this.

Only wish I would have known and gotten one during this.  Ohh well I guess.  But congatz to OP.

They will not do this I can almost guarantee  almost 99 percent.  They never have been one to take machines back as far as refund.   And shipping back I can almost guarantee you will not happen either.  They will subtract X percent of hash from it and give a refund based on hashing.

Does it suck yes very much so.  But they were paid for with bitcoin so there is really no buyer protection.   It's up to the company.

I do give you some serious credit for researching the company more then most that have issues.  Seems you understand the structure of BM.
5593  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BITMAIN AntRouter R1: 1st wireless networking device with bitcoin mining chip on: October 12, 2015, 11:52:17 PM
If they do I would agree on OpenWrt being most likely.  It is what Avalon used on tp nano and RPI to control some miners.

Who knows maybe someone could use that as a base of with OpenWrt, and look to see what Avalon did to it to get mining nice and GUI.   I still want to see initial screens of the R1.  I don't see why that one review did not show some of it at least.

It appears to be running OpenWRT in this review.

Thank You!  I had seen the cybtc review but it did not cover near enough.

This is great I will give it a read.
5594  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Where to get highest free BTC? on: October 12, 2015, 11:26:54 PM
Join a signature campaign once you reach Jr. Member rank or higher. For really small earnings you can TRY to use faucets, but eventually you'll find out it's a waste of your time and money.

Actually Jr. Member is not going to be that big of jump.  Full member is biggest jump for most on pay.  It also is a requirement on many of the "good" campaigns.   Just takes longer to hit.

On faucets I would not even try you will just get dust in wallet.  You make pennies for hours of work in most cases.  Does not work out to even try on math.
5595  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S7 is available at bitmaintech.com with 4.86TH/s, 0.25J/GH on: October 12, 2015, 11:25:14 PM

But everyone should be careful on this you cannot in most cases pop off a 15 amp breaker and throw on a 30 amp.  Just is dangerous with wire that is not up to it.

I'd say that is pretty much a rule.  Few, if any, houses in the USA have oversized wire in them.  Replacing a 15amp breaker with a 30 amp one, and then loading it, is a great way to start an electrical fire.  Its also not going to get you 220V in most cases, since any 220V breaker is a "double" (since it has to span both legs inside the panel box).

And 220/240 really is nice I don't mean to scare others from it.  After trying it on a line I love having all the power on a PDU, much nicer then 110/120 on power limits.

I plan if my mining area needs any more electricity it will be 240 at this point.  But I installed so many at beginning I doubt I need to run some in near future.  Getting rid of dragon, and S4's freed up quite a bit of my space.

But honestly with how mining is going now day's with power I suggest people look into 240 if possible.  For some it never will be possible and I realize that.

5597  Economy / Services / Re: Antminer s5+ purchase on: October 12, 2015, 11:18:51 PM
Why are you wanting to go with an S5+ over an S7?

If he has cheaper electricity it's cheaper on GH/$.    The S7 if you have higher electricity makes more sense.

There are so many individual factors in mining.  Not one size fits all anymore.
5598  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BITMAIN AntRouter R1: 1st wireless networking device with bitcoin mining chip on: October 12, 2015, 11:17:33 PM
It would be nice to have option to install custom firmware on this device. dd-wrt and cgminer package.
DD-WRT is unlikely and IMO inferior to OpenWRT anyways. DD-WRT is mainly known for supporting broadcom based hardware which this device will not be based off of.

If they do I would agree on OpenWrt being most likely.  It is what Avalon used on tp nano and RPI to control some miners.

5599  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER C1 Discussion and Support Thread on: October 12, 2015, 11:13:25 PM
Agreed to new water cooled miner, I use C1 for heating during winter. I did last winter without any additional heat source and it was perfect. Just give us S7 with few waterblocks on it, we will take care of the rest Smiley

It will take someone to mod most likely.  I just don't see another C series for the many reasons I have posted earlier.

You can look at their partner syscooling on C1, and S5 mod.  They have not logged in for months.   So that does not sound very promising.

Apparently, this  forum was for them too stressful.

I still have 3 x C1 working pump for 8 (Two of them were replacements pumps)
that working  with S5 and C1 cooling radiators .

But Syscooling answer e-mails and still sells an their website.
A few days ago, I bought a third cooling kit for 2x S5
http://shop.syscooling.com/goods.php?id=46

If you had a RMA email was "stressful" to.   I still remember a RMA pump in the mail for a month on one and over a month on my second pump, both died within 2 days.

They were a huge pain on batch one after they dry tested water pumps and shipped them out.  And that horrible V1 fan harness.  I had a horrible time with them.  It is back who know how many pages.  But I did not feel sad when them and bitmain split as far as joint ventures.

If Bitmain does do a water cooling again (which I dount).  I hope they keep it in house they could have beat syscooling but that is not saying much.  And I realize not all had as bad as I did.
5600  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain "warranty" on: October 12, 2015, 11:10:30 PM

They were moving support to https://bitmain.zendesk.com/hc/en-us with tickets.  Not sure how far they made it on it.  I kinda feel they get so many emails they never fully made the trasition.  I would agree if they had a more concrete help desk type system it would be much better.

I am not a fan of their recent moves on compensation.   But we gave them the trust to do it.  There was no solid TOS or anything that protected us.  We kinda went in blind and suspected if anything was truly late they would fix it..... so it gave them full power on it.  They choose a pretty crappy compensation no doubt.  But there is not much we can do.

I mean it's already midday Monday in China.  If bitmain wanted to come out and say "Were sorry heres some coupons" or anything they could have.    I hate it but I feel no amount of these threads or posts will change their mind.

Zendesk is not for EU buyers..

I received today from China S5+ NEW fan and repaired S5+ blade. 5 blade from my 2x S5+ are still in China.

Dark and smoky radiators are not from my miner. Perhaps from some of the S7 . But they are definitely from some bad burned miner. Burned with flame and smoke.

Interesting sad to seem them use parts like that.   I would hope they would at least clean them or something.

I feel sorry for EU buyers as zendesk is pretty nice few times I had to use it.  Did the blade seem to run fine after they sent it back?  What are the results?
