5581  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: 750 GH/s - 3TH/s Miners from $3565 - www.bitcoinultra.co.uk on: March 12, 2014, 02:48:52 PM
I did a little calculation and based upon current difficultly (big caveat!) the Ant's ROI in around 63 (included PSU and import duty into UK) days and the 750GH/s in around 61 days. Obviously having 1 box rather than 4 makes life a lot simpler.

Did you set the calculator for mid-April at a minimum?  Because according to BitcoinUltra's post they just finally finished testing and manufacturing PCB's.  Seems like something that should've been done awhile ago.  They haven't even showed any pictures of chips or a test rig mining at a pool yet!   Tongue
Again, playing devil's advocate here. Not having shown it and not having done it are different. They couldn't have finalized their board design much before this, since the A1 chips haven't been out that long. They said they had sent them to production, and had all the necessary components.

Yeah, they probably should shoot the bins of components and post up the image just to stop trolling and slow speculation, but I wouldn't want to be bothered either. They have 19 days to meet their self imposed deadline. I won't call them on anything else until that deadline has passed. I wish they hadn't gone the pre-order route, but they did. Only by a few weeks, though, rather than some pie-in-the-sky date that they pulled out of their ass like several other manufacturers/vendors have done.

The A1's are out there, both Swiss and chinese knockoffs. They work. Let's see what these guys do with 'em.

I see your point Biomech, just curious why they even bothered posting this a few days ago:

Crazy day as you can all imagine, here are some pictures of the Enigma 1 case, I will take some pictures of our boards and manufacturing when I get on site

Totally agree.  The pre-order model should be outdated already.  Delays and scammy companies leave customers with a bad taste.

I'm also awaiting announcements and upcoming release dates for AM and Bitmain, as well as, keeping my BA pre-orders(might as well as this point).
5585  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Announcement: Bitmain launches AntMiner solution, 0.68 J/GH on chip on: March 11, 2014, 07:16:12 PM
What do you guys think is better?

180 GH of antminer now or 200 GH/s of Black Arrow in May?

According to Bitcoinwisdom, Black Arrow will never ROI starting in May unless there's a huge BTC price spike.   Cry

Antminer at least has a chance starting now at the discounted pricetag.
5586  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Newby Assistance. on: March 11, 2014, 01:30:05 PM
Depends on your budget.  If you just want to experiment, you can get 5 Antminer U2s at @2GH/s each and get a USB hub for a budget setup.

If you have $700 to spare, then get the Antminer S1, get a PSU, and overclock to 200 GH/s.  You won't be disappointed.
5587  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Considering buying a bitcoin miner on: March 11, 2014, 01:00:32 PM
Just ordered 6 Antminers from Bitmain and 3 power supply units from Tigerdirect for about $4,500.  1080 gigs of hashing power.  As for the heat that they will generate in my apt..........

So Bitmaintech.com is a good site eh?

Furthermore how long does it usually take for the miner to get to you?

Depends where you're located.  I'm on the east coast of the US, it arrived in 5 days after I placed my order.
5588  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Considering buying a bitcoin miner on: March 10, 2014, 08:28:42 PM
Just get 4 Ants, overclock each to 200 GH/s, and you'll have 800 GH/s for less than $2500.

Boom done!   Grin
5589  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: 28nm ** 1T ** 900W【JingTian miner】 in production !!! on: March 10, 2014, 06:16:24 PM
6 g's is a ripoff fellas, I'd recommend sitting on your hands for the S2 announcement later this month.

Because if the S2 is priced around half of these $5k and $6k miners, you best believe everyone will buy out the stock as soon as Bitmain puts it online.

That would be money well spent, imo.

Price is NOT that high. And anyone wants to wait for Bitmine's NEVER coming system, then that's his/her choice.

Haha good one.  Bitmain, not Bitmine.  Bitmain is killing everyone right now.  They're redefining the pre-order model for the whole industry.
5590  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Antminer S1 Sales open] Price changes daily, now 0.999 BTC for 180GH/s on: March 10, 2014, 04:38:22 PM
WATCH OUT

Bitmain site is down and going to another domain!! Looks like a DNS hijack!!

Getting pushed over onto 119.9.72.212/product.htm

DNS has also changed maybe bitmain is moving server but doubt it

Wait for an update

That doesn't happen to me, and I'm in the US.

https://www.bitmaintech.com/product.htm works just fine for me.

5591  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Antminer S1 Sales open] Price changes daily, now 0.999 BTC for 180GH/s on: March 10, 2014, 04:21:20 PM
I told myself I would not buy any more miners ... then Bitmain drops the price and puts a bunch of coupons in my account. Now I have another thash coming and not enough electricity to run it Cheesy

Is this to be filed under first world problems?   Tongue

Bitmain is ridiculous with their daily sales.  Kudos for a mining company that knows how to do business and treat their customers right (So far).

Now, where is that S2?!

5593  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Make a real ATM on: March 10, 2014, 02:16:42 PM
There's a 2 way Bitcoin ATM that just launched in South Korea.  It may not have all of the OP's requirements, but it deals in both fiat and Bitcoin:

http://www.coindesk.com/south-korea-launches-first-bitcoin-atm/

Definitely looks like and operates like a standard ATM.  Doesn't quite have the "locked" to one owner part down, but looks like a step in the right direction:

5594  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: How about Hashcoins.com ? on: March 10, 2014, 02:07:25 PM
Okay this confirms the scam for me:

If you go to https://www.hashcoins.com/company/contact/ , their "headquater" is mispelled and their company is friggin' CGI'ed:

Stay far away!
5595  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: How about Hashcoins.com ? on: March 10, 2014, 02:00:44 PM
I don't know guys, this one looks extra scammy.

I don't remember them having an "ANN" thread or anything here in BitcoinTalk.  I'd wait until a Sr. or Hero member/developer got their hands on these to confirm the company's legitimacy.
5596  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Antminer S1 Sales open] Price changes daily, now 0.999 BTC for 180GH/s on: March 10, 2014, 01:48:00 PM
Wow, 0.999 BTC now!  Bitmain must have alot of these units to be able to drop these prices almost daily.

So tempting to jump in again, but I think I'll wait for the S2.
5597  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: high bitcoin on: March 08, 2014, 06:54:07 PM
When it comes to the mining world, usually if it sounds too good to be true, it usually is!   Tongue

Especially when their pictures of the 1TH/s, 2TH/s, and 4TH/s are identical:

5598  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin will hit $1000 by this Friday (07-03-2014) on: March 08, 2014, 05:41:43 PM
Please make more predictions so we can do the opposite..

Cheers!  Wink

OK, Bitcoin will drop to 230$ by next week.....

Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin

That's the spirit!  Always say the opposite of what you want Bitcoin to do.   Cheesy
5599  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: What's after the terrahash? on: March 08, 2014, 05:38:23 PM
Petahash?

Is this a rhetorical question?  If so, basically the home miner will die out due to increasing electrical costs with little to no ROI.  Serious mining will definitely move into the datacenter.

2014 will probably be the death of the hobby miner.
