I don't think this is more likely to be a scam than others, thew only issue I have at the moment is that if units have not been assembled and tested then the 31st March deadline looks as unlikely as any other deadline I have seen...Cheesy

As I said, I am ready to buy in person when we know what the reality is.

I spoke with Chris on the phone and my gut feeling tells me this is real.
The fact that I can purchase with a CC makes me even more confident, so I am getting 4 Smiley

Damit I was just about to post this bang on 1600.

http://media.giphy.com/media/rqSrBWn4xyPNm/giphy.gif

Well its a start but lid needs to come off becuase thats just a blue box. Also the prototype in operation pics don't forget those ow and inside the boxs that should be full of chips  Grin  list goes on and on you really can not take enough pictures.

Glad you grabbed a paper tho even if its The Sun Grin

I will admit if Chris is a scammer he is bloody good on the phone and might have made more money in acting.

I'm also waiting to see inside, but he did mention that it was just the case and he'd be posting pics of the boards later when he gets on site...

+1

Btw I experienced 2 security flaws: during the order process there was no SSL, so no secure connection + when you register they send the password in plain text to your email.
I told Chris about it, so they are looking into it.

So more more technical info: The Enigma 1 has 2 boards with 12 chips on each, so total of 24 chips. There is an RPI controller board + power distribution board that takes PCI-E 2x 8 pin + 1x 6pin for each board, so a total of 6 cables, which is an overkill anyway. Chris said you can just use 2x PCI-E 8pin per board also, so the 6pin cables are just optional.

Hey CYPER thanks for info . Think I will get my PSU from http://www.scan.co.uk/shop/computer-hardware/all/power-supplies/full-modular-400w-900w since they take bitcoins any tips on the best to go with? Been a while since I had to buy a PSU we really should support scan for having the balls to adopt bitcoin. Bet all the other PC shops are laughing at them but as the saying goes " first they laugh" you know the rest.

It appears www.bitcoinultra.co.uk is back but very slow.

Fellow members, correct me if I'm wrong, but using http://bitcoinwisdom.com/bitcoin/calculator and entering the $3200 price, switching the difficulty to 20%, and putting the 750 GH/s and 700W plus $185 for shipping to US and $100 for PSU...this thing won't ever ever come even close to ROI starting in April.

Doesn't compute to me.

Yes its far to expensive at current Btc rates. I have cheep/free power to spare making it better but still a push. Guess all of us that hope to mine with these are counting on btc going to the moon.

Or just buy BTC now with that money and still hope it goes to the moon?  Huh

Well I'm doing both. What I have left after the goxxing I'm splitting between buy and hodl and throwing some at a little hardware.
