5581  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Investing in Alts instead of Bitcoin for far greater returns (or losses) on: January 23, 2020, 09:48:59 PM
At the risk of going against what most Crypto investors suggest, I've decided to keep the majority of my portfolio consisting of projects from the top 20 Alts (apart from BSV and BCH which are shitcoins) working on the assumption that many of them are down by a far greater percentage in the last few years than bitcoin which has actually gone up Smiley

I'm well aware its a gamble but I'm prepared to run the risk of either making insanely large profits or losing my $2K investment especially after watching the markets the last few days, Alt prices have gone up and down faster than a hookers knickers  Grin

Your thoughts peeps? am I stupid, brave, a pathological gambler or a combination of the the three?

Right or wrong it's a gamble.  You inherently are stating yourself you believe more in bitcoin but just think these will go up a lot quicker than bitcoin will based on the amount of losses they took.  That's a gamble, stupid nah people gamble on sports and everything else all the time this is no different.  Good luck to you.
5582  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 12.5% Tax on Real Bitcoin on: January 23, 2020, 09:46:44 PM
So, BCH is the real bitcoin  Grin
Roger is Satoshi  Cheesy He does not like Bitcoin anymore because he has found the most decentralized chain BCH.
The real decentealized shitcoin miners have to pay 12.5% taxes on each block reward  Cheesy That's for developing firm from Hong Kong. The tax will be affective from May.
Enjoy the network, decentralized network.

https://coingape.com/a-12-5-tax-on-mining-rewards-is-bitcoin-cash-bch-really-decentralized/

They are only going to lose hash rate to bitcoin with this move.  As a miner the profitability will always hover around the same it's just the difficulty that will adjust.  Bcash seems to be turning themselves into a non significant alt amongst the vast majority of the others.  Cant wait until the halving, their coin will be as secure as any other alt soon lol.
5583  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is Bitcoin now Pump and Dump? on: January 23, 2020, 09:41:25 PM

I have watched this space for a couple of years and while on it, I felt that bitcoin prices are usually driven by global supply and demand which is a factor of real world usage. But recently, I have also gotten another perspective that bitcoin might just be a tool in the hands of a few whales, manipulated for quick and short gains on daily bases. If that's the case, as we near $6500/btc and even lesser as analysts suggest, when then do we see $100k/btc or its just a hoax to keep the pump and dump pendulum swinging

Maybe back in 2012 ish yeah you would have a point but not today.  There is too much demand on a global level to think that a couple people are wielding all the swings.  Can it happen once or twice sure but the constant swing can not be sustained by a select few.  That is just the nature of 24 hour unregulated markets they are always going to be volitility in an environment like that.
5584  Economy / Economics / Re: How Will the Third Block Reward Halving Affect Bitcoin? on: January 23, 2020, 09:38:24 PM
An overview of the theories related to block reward reductions and previous halving events to provide clues on the possible scenarios for BTC-USD after May 2020.

Read more here: https://medium.com/interdax/how-will-the-third-block-reward-halving-affect-bitcoin-ddb38b46a959

A lot of the value question lies in the fact of demand.  We need to see a demand surge that still outweighs block reward to see a nice price breakout.  If demand stalls for any reason the price could actually shrink over the next couple of years.  Who knows what the year brings, just head down and moving forward as usual for the honey badger.

I actually like the odds on kelce, san fransisco is good at shutting down recievers and they get in the pocket quick so you might see kelce with 15 or so targets in the sb.  I think that's a good value bet.  Also...lulz on the trump prop.  I like the 49ers score on that one.  I think the 49ers and chiefs over will be blasted.  Can see a 35-31 game here.
5586  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 NBA Season on: January 23, 2020, 09:32:51 PM
This is something really enormous for New Orleans.
When was the last time they went to the playoffs?
Oh it was just 2018. I forgot they got Anthony Davis back then. So confused now with a lot of trades. They even got until conference Finals against GSW.

And looks like no playoff appearance for them now. I even offer a bet on it but unfortunately, no one accepts it.

Also, another year again to Brandon Ingram and Lonzo Ball without playoffs.

J.J Redick will surely disappointed at this. He never missed playoffs for 13 seasons and even throw a joke at Zion not to screw his playoffs streak lol.

Lonzo ball has only played a couple of years so it's not like he has missed the playoffs for a decade.  They arent completely out of it with a decent portion of the season left.  But they wont compete with the big boys just yet they need some of these young guys to get more consistent and keep zion healthy.
5587  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 NBA Season on: January 23, 2020, 08:46:58 PM

Zion surprised me on that last quarter and it almost took them on a win. If ever that's happened, a big name ZION will spread all over the news. He just exploded in the last quarter and he is really nailing that shot. Although to what I noticed, those three-pointers made by Zion aren't guarded properly so I blame Spurs here for their poor defense. But in the end, they still managed to escape that rally by the Pelicans.

Noticed also the passing skills of Lonzo Ball. That's his main forte' even back on Lakers.

If you notice the replay you'll see that their defense against Zion isn't really what you normally see on Coach Pop's playbook, usually players like him won't be left unguarded. They might played differently against him either because they don't want to be the team who will re-injure Williamson or they just want him to get a good NBA debut of his rookie career. Other things I have notice is that Williamson isn't driving that much to the basket and he wants to spot up a shot as fast as he can, he might still be worried about his injury and doesn't want to be careless as well.

They left him open because they wanted him to shoot from the outside.  In the nba you have to prove you can hit an outside shot, driving is his bread and butter he wasnt a prolific 3 point shooter at duke.  If you play hard up tight he will blow by you, they were baiting him into shooting, only it backfired because he drained them.

Anyone have a good site for prop bets for the superbowl.  The coin flip is one of the biggest bets all year for props.  Truest 50/50 you'll see.  Interested to see the odds on superbowl mvp.  Mahomes is an easy choice but I'm sure his odds show that.  49ers is tough since at any game someone can be the star of the show.
5589  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏈🏈 The Essential NFL Thread 🏈🏈 - new poll every week on: January 22, 2020, 10:12:05 PM
I think the odds for Superbowl are set about right. Will be decided by a few details (penalties, TO, broken coverage) and whatever team is showing up more; hard to tell who that will be. Keeping my fingers crossed for the 49ers, allthough I could live with the Chiefs as well, since I would be happy for Andy Reid to finally get his well deserved ring.

Just read that their will be some tests of potential rule changes at the ProBowl and one of them gets me excited to some extent:

Quote
The scoring team, Team A, will have the following options:

1. Team A may elect to give Team B the ball at Team B's 25-yard line, beginning a new series of downs with a first-and-10.

2. Team A may elect to take the ball at its own 25-yard line for a fourth-and-15 play. If Team A is successful in making a first down, Team A will maintain possession and a new series of downs will continue as normal. If Team A is unsuccessful in making a first down, the result will be a turnover on downs and Team B will take possession at the dead-ball spot.

Source: http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000001098234/article/nfl-to-test-out-two-potential-rule-changes-in-pro-bowl

This could make for some nice drama Grin With the rule changes, the percentage of successful onside kicks has dropped to <10% and I would think that a 4th&15 has higher chances of being converted succesfully. Field-position wise, after converting that 4th&15, you should start somewhere there, where a succesful onside kick would let you start too - or even better. What do you guys think about that ?

I dont like the 4th and 15 play.  It can be converted way too much.  A team can be down 21 points with 3 minutes to go and kind of easily tie it.  That rule change penalizes the team that's been kicking ass all game.  I vote no on that one.
5590  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Conor McGregor vs Manny Pacquiao on: January 22, 2020, 09:35:41 PM
There is this weird rock paper scissors thing going on with conor+floyd+pacman, of course both floyd beat conor and pacman will certainly beat him too but the reality is that it took 10 rounds for floyd to beat conor, he let conor to just get tired and beat him like that, it has always been his style so I can understand why he did that but at the same time dude had talents to take him out on the first few rounds and decided not to and played safe. Pacman is more aggressive, he actually punches his opponents hard and he could knock out conor very fast.

I still think conor is on track for a title at UFC so I doubt he would consider another boxing match, he wanted to fight mayweather because that would yield superb amount of money, he would rather win UFC title than fight pacman for just a little bit more money or maybe not even as much.

Connor would take that boxing match.  He would stand to make 10s of millions and does not effect his mma career.  Put me on the card and I would step in there for that payday.  Would get my ass stomped but well worth every lump.
5591  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Conor McGregor vs Manny Pacquiao on: January 22, 2020, 01:48:33 PM
It might be easier for Conor to win versus Floyd Mayweather than Pacman, I reckon. Pacman's hand speed, strength and cardio would overwhelm Conor in all the rounds

But Mayweather is undefeated so its safe to say that he is better than Manny Pacquiao.

With Mayweather intelligence in the ring, he knows how to fight without him putting in a risky situation that he could be knock out, manny is different, he like to give more entertainment to the fans so he will be aggressive, I like to see it happen and possibly a knock out for Conor would happen.
boxing is all about BOXING and not running, yeah Mayweather might be better in terms of rankings and being  undefeated but if we compared between His style and Manny?we can differentiate who is a true Boxer and not only looking for Belt or trophy but to fight as what he stands for.

anyway about Conor since this is Boxing ?he surely has no chance of winning against Manny not unless referee will allow Him to take down Manny using MMA technique .

What are you talking about "true boxer".  If you dont think floyd is a "true" boxer you have watched too many rocky movies.  Floyd is probably the pound for pound best boxer in the last 20-30 years if not of all time.  Nobody could touch floyd, that's what you call boxing.  Its offensive and defensive not just go out there and wild out.

You crazy.  As much as everyone dislikes floyd he is by far a pound for pound better boxer than manny and it's not close.  I've never seen anyone who knew HOW to box better than floyd and you can legit say it might be a very long time before we see another like him.  Floyd can win in so many ways, he can go rounds without barely throwing punches and still win those rounds easily.  Conner never had a prayer with floyd.  Floyd dragged it out for the fans...either way manny will wreck conner it wont even be a good fight
Not dragging out for its fans but thats actually his boxing style.Hitting his opponent without getting being hit and im sure he didnt go on easy with Connor even he do know that he do have the advantage.
Floyd is undefeated because of his style. It might be frustrating to others yet it do involves running around but thats actually the main objective which is to make points until the round ends and win the fight.
@stomachgrowls if he would finish that fast then peoples tickets wont really be that worth.

He is a showman too.  If floyd wanted to knock conner out in the first he could've, it was a sparring match for him.  That is his style, he was a master at never getting hit.  Always loved watching him box although I dont care for him as a person.

I am not as excited anymore after the Titan's loss. It was the last team, aside from the Patriots and the Ravens that might make the superbowl more dramatic hehehe.

As a Niner's fan, I wholly understand your desires, and reject them for the sake of my blood pressure.  The Ravens scared me the most, they would have made a close game of it.  The Patriots would have made it a really fun game, too.  The Kansas City Chiefs don't scare me the same way.  Obviously they're an explosive team and no lead is safe when Mahomes is on the field.  But I'm confident the Niners can win it, early odds put them as 1.5 point favorites.

27-0  Cheesy

"the unlawful premeditated killing of one human being by another."

Lol, that was a cake walk first half.  I love Jimmy Garoppolo's numbers for the game 6/8 for 77 yards.  WTF?  Well shit, when you have drives like the one that consisted of 5 runs for 75 yards and a touch down, why do you need to throw the ball?  Just think if it was the Saints instead of the Packers, we would have 900 combined passing yards.

Honestly I if i was a 49ers fan I'd rather see baltimore over kansas city in the superbowl.  For some wierd reason everyone has kicked kc to the curb.  Dude had a knee blowout and is wrecking people right now.  Kansas city right now is the last team anyone wants to face because if they are up 14 to 21 points do you feel like that lead is safe?

Hi People, I'm 'study' this Coin and I'm intrest in this project. You know something about BitTube, You think is a good investiment right now? Let me know what You think about...

Well I never heard of this coin at all so my gut reaction would to be nope not happening.  You might want to add some information about the project for people to give you an honest assessment.  I would think most people dont know anything or little about this project.

Titans look in big trouble now and I fear we might see a very one-sided second half with the Chiefs running away with the score.
It's looking like the tables have turned once again Titans' defense slowly crumbling and the Chiefs converting most of their plays.

Hope the Titans get a touchdown in the fourth and limit the Chiefs to a field goal for a nice cover push.  Cheesy

Edit : Titans seem to be done here and my spread.

Taking the 49ers spread for the final match. I don't know if the Packers have the potential for an upset after their close match with the Seahawks last week.

9ers look good so far.  I think 9ers should cover easy here.  Could see a blowout honestly.  That would make for the best superbowl anyway, green bay would get slaughter by kc.  The 9ers d versus KCs offense would be fun to watch.

According to the article.

Conor McGregor said he's in talks to box Manny Pacquiao, and a prominent boxing reporter says the Filipino is interested

LAS VEGAS — Conor McGregor said he has been in talks to box Manny Pacquiao, and a prominent boxing reporter said the Filipino is interested in the fight.

Business Insider attended Wednesday's press conference at the Palms Casino Resort's Pearl Theater for McGregor and Donald Cerrone to build interest in their UFC 246 welterweight fight at the T-Mobile Arena on Saturday.

McGregor mentioned that his plans included a return to the boxing ring to improve on his losing record, having been defeated by Floyd Mayweather three years ago.

McGregor said he thought he did well against Mayweather in 2017. "With adjustments, I'd do better," he said. "Now I'd take victory."

Do you think this fight is possible? sure, it's gonna bring a lot of money for both fighters and this should be a better fight than conor vs mayweather because we might see the power of Manny here punish a trash talker conor.

What do you think on this article?

I think it's all kind of a joke really.  Conner excels at MMA, there are Olympic and gold glove boxers that never get a shot at people like floyd and manny.  Conner is not a world class boxer!  Why does anyone think he can beat someone lile floyd or manny?  I will bet hard on manny no matter the odds if this fight goes down

OP although I do agree it "feels" like we are going backwards but in all honesty this thread wouldn't even be a thing if we arent lightyears ahead of where we were 5-10 years ago.  Even having a state consider allowing to be paid in crypto is a feat in of itself.  Things progress slowly and in fact I think more and more outlets allow for the payment of bitcoin and even some other alts than in the past.  The road to acceptance has always been a struggle this is no different.

I've also seen the 5 btc silver sell in the 500-700 range in last month.  If the coin is right I have more btc at disposal.

Just a heads up the 5 btc is not real silver but a metal alloy just wanted to make sure you knew.  You have found the right place here though.
