5581  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling as a profession: there's people who live out of gambling? on: February 10, 2021, 01:35:54 PM
Perhaps, some people live from gambling, but I am not sure about the number of them. I am sure that there are professional gamblers who are playing gambling and make money from gambling. But I think they don't expose who they are especially for people who can make a thousand dollars from gambling. That is difficult to become a professional gambler because we need to master the games. We need to have much experience in the games, and that will need a long time before we can be a professional gambler.
You can like sport betting and know how to analyse, you can play dice and believe in luck and still think you are professional enough but not, you can try other ways of gambling like playing poker and win today thinking you are a professional, but if today is good, that does not mean tomorrow can be. There are many people that will just think that way and depends only on gambling, these kind of people will have money today and leave poor later. They may later have issue with their wife leaving them and their life becoming miserable. Any good gambler you see out there only depend on luck, they were just lucky to hit the jackpot. Nothing like professional gamblers, the more people see it as profession, the more they lose. But the more someone see it as fun, using low amount of money to for it, there can be a day he will win jackpot. Many people will gamble but out of 100, less than one will be the ones that truly make it from gambling actually, and that because they do not see gambling reliable but as luck.
5582  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling strategies & tips from professional players on: February 10, 2021, 01:29:11 PM
For me, it doesn't really matter whether you win big or if the game you're in is purely based on luck or not. What matters the most if you want to minimize your losses is knowing when to carry on and knowing when to stop. People tend to overestimate their luck when they are winning, so they end up losing their money in the process, if everyone is fond of the concept of quitting while one's ahead, we will be minimizing our losses which is equal to winning too.
When I was an active gambler, I did noticed one thing, if I first started to gamble anytime I got money, I do gain a lot, but if I continue to gamble, I will later lose the gain and also later lose the whole money, including the one I first start gambling with. That made me known that gambling is very risky and discipline is very important, else, it can lead to losses. Anytime we gain, we should just stop to gamble, but many people will want to gain the more, but later lose more than they can think. We should build good risk management, but not only that, we should also build good mind set and discipline. And lastly, gambling should be for fun to make us have all these qualities..
5583  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Newbie gambling sites on: February 10, 2021, 01:04:38 PM
It depends on the person who handles the situation because there are a lot of people can't handle their emotions and if they think they want to earn more and take back their loses the urge to make money back is too hard to stop and sometimes it causes of losing your money or double your money it's all about gambling guys take the win or lose the game. But for me it's better, if we have risk management and identify what are the, exceeds on our fun and budget it's too hard if you lose all the things you have because of this kind of mistake. Actually, it's better if we have a stop loss and take profit too in gambling right?
Gambling is completely different from trading, it is trading that have the feature of stop loss and take profit, it is just a concept used by traders to minimize risks, especially when they are not looking or watching the market. But in gambling, nothing like that, if you have a prematch game, you can not use such, also if you have online game, what is similar to it is to cash out, but it will not work out good many times. Assuming in online game, you bet for 1.2 odds with $50, if the team you take is losing already, what you can cash out could have reduced to $5.

Having a quality mindset and risk management plan is the best like you have once commented. If someone has lost in gambling, he should just stop betting for poor mindset not to set in at the time that can bring more losses. And if we win, we should just still stop betting because the more we bet the more the chances of losing.
5584  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2020/2021 on: February 09, 2021, 06:56:56 PM
FA Cup

Manchester United - west ham

I wonder how many goals manchester united will score... in the last game manchester united scored 3 goals against everton. before playing against everton, they scored 9 goals against southampton.

today can they score more than 3 goals? or will we see 10 goals?  Grin

City - Swansea city

I also wonder how many goals City will score? 3 or 4 goals?  Grin

FA cup can be surprising as weak team will want to perform if compared to premier league but West Ham is not a weak team either. There may be just little goals in Man United vs West Ham FA match. For Man City, the goals will likely be many.

5587  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Taking a loan to buy Bitcoin? on: February 09, 2021, 12:43:50 PM
I do not have to read all about your post before I will tell you taking a loan is not necessary. But if you think you can gain from it, you can try but you can expect gain and lose, this will make it difficult for you. I will advice you not to take a loan. The bitcoin market and crypto market generally are volatility, loan is not recommended for it.
5588  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Using oscillators correctly on: February 09, 2021, 09:04:57 AM
While making professional trading, only oscillators can not do it but it can actually help while trading, oscillators help traders to know if to enter a market or not, it tells if the traders should enter in short time or long time. If for example, the market has increased, many people will fomo, but using oscillator Indicators can still determine if you should still enter a market, but in a short time or if you should not even try to enter market for price will begin to fall already. But during a long fall, oscillators will indicate a time to buy for long till certain price is reached. You can combine it will other indicators like

1. Relative moving average for shourt term purpose
2. Exponential moving avarage to predict long term
3. Bollinger bands that consist of three important lines

One of the best and most common oscillator is relative strength index, oscillatory momentum is also a good one.

While trading, you still need to be very careful, read news for fundamental analysis and also know that indicators can fail at times.
5589  Other / Meta / Re: Request for Nigeria local board on: February 09, 2021, 08:56:05 AM
This being said I think Theymos will act only once the topics there get increased activity, so far neither Bangladesh nor Pakistan have been granted a board of their own still pretty weird that the topic for Nigeria is not pinned at least, that would get it a bit more exposure for certain and it's an easy thing to do.
Anyhow, good luck with the request.
The Nigerian local thread as being active since, maybe theymos do not check local board for other languages often, we suppose to have requested for that at first, but we see it not needed because the two Nigeria threads (Nigerian Bitcointalk Community Hangout and African Proverbs in Pidgin) are the ones constantly on the top list after the pinned local threads. And we think now that is high time to have a local board because of he increase activities we have on Nigeria local threads. We wish theymos to listen to request and Grant us one.
5590  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Is Legder NANO X SAFE?? on: February 08, 2021, 09:38:02 PM
I have a very imported question?
Nano X charge you about 20 XRP to active your wallet and My question IS If they have no access to your private key How they can take 20 XRP from your wallet???
If you want to make use of any noncustodial wallet that support ripple, you will need to have 20 ripple in the ripple wallet, it is called ripple reserve, it will be there in the wallet forever, you will not be able to transfer it to any other wallet. This is just the norm of a centralized coin called ripple while such can not be implemented on decentralized coin like bitcoin.
5591  Other / Meta / Re: Request for Nigeria local board on: February 08, 2021, 09:10:20 PM
As I meant earlier. Not everyone can speak and understand foreign language fluently and local board are a place for them to absorb information about crypto. I believe the local board will be of great use to them and there are also no limit and limit for good English speakers to contribute there too.
You are right by your comment, local board is a means of providing means many people from your country can get access to more information online from posting activities in local board. But if we check this from another angle, local board does not suppose to necessarily mean posting in local languages. Let me make an example, central bank of Nigeria ban cryptocurrencies now, local board will be a good board for Nigerians to discuss what they can do in a way they can bypass the central bank of Nigeria and yet still making use of cryptocurrencies and fiat together, we know p2p is the next in line but they will be able to discuss the best p2p to be used in Nigeria or which are best in Nigeria at this time on their local baord. It can be in English or Pigin like they said, but the information discussion in their local baord will be able to become more accessible to people broswing from Nigeria.

Na waiting go make the merit increase. Make we dey hope for better tomorrow as some other Nigerians go apply for merit source, na guess oh but waiting I believe go later happen.
5593  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Nigeria government did not ban bitcoin on: February 08, 2021, 08:49:01 PM
Anyway, the decision is confusing and against the trend.
The central bank of Nigerian do not know much about cryptocurrencies, they also do not have experienced people that can explain about cryptocurrencies to them. They refered to cryptocurrencies as anonymous, supoorting terrorism and money laundering, while it is very clear that the so called Boko Haram they are dealing with are using fiat to sponsor themselves, the fiat which is hold by the Nigerian banks. When they could not know what cryptocurrencies actually are, they made the bad and wrong decision that will get the country more behind.
5594  Other / Meta / Re: This shitty Merit System has ruined Bitcointalk and made it like Facebook on: February 08, 2021, 03:32:53 PM
The old quality of message boards that you can still see in Posts by Satoshi and many others (in OLD posts where people actually made thoughtful posts and did own research and posted about experiences) is now completely disappeared because people rather make posts thinking they will get a like, or to spam their X posts a week for their signature campaigns.
Check this forum very well, there are best post qualities always. Have you ever since meaningful bitcoin forum like bitcointalk? If there is, still can never be compared.

While its great to offer people a way to earn bitcoin, basing this so much on the merit system is the stupidest thing Bitcointalk has ever done and it has ruined these forums.
That is why bitcointalk is now having over 3 million users. The merit system helps to reduce shit posters, unlike 2017 as I heard where a single person will have 10 accounts. The more the account leading to shitposting.

Was a great time but until this system is changed I rather write in some old mailing lists or even to my own notepad because there I have control over my words and thoughts and am not influenced by retarded distractions as the Merit system.
I do not think you are needed. You are not theymos, not any of the staff, not Loyce V not any of the best members. You can be the one that needs this forum, not this forum that needs you.
5595  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What will you do if Bitcoin hits $1m in the future? on: February 08, 2021, 08:07:55 AM
It will never hit $1m in the future. That is what you would expect an 8 yo kid to ask.
You are just one of the beginners that underestimate bitcoin, if you look on how bitcoin is designed, it will later hit $1 million in the future, it will later be the world digital gold. Bitcoin is deflationary and also people are getting to know about it. Like me I have already been holding bitcoin, so I will not escape the gain to make before it got to such price if it will be early.
5596  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Potential scam alert on: February 08, 2021, 08:03:26 AM
This supposed to be in scam accusation board, or to help beginners in beginners and help board, but the right board for it is the scam accusation. You can just move down the thread and click on move topic, moving it to the right board.

I do not also have to take a look at the website, one of the ways to know scam sites are typo errors and other related errors in the ways of writing. Also because the site is new, they are 100% scam, never visit the site or you will be scammed.
5597  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Once Bitcoin marketcaps has reached to a trillion alone, it will happen on: February 08, 2021, 07:56:52 AM
So.. once bitcoin hits a trillion marketcap, it automatically means that other cryptocurrencies will follow suit? That doesn't make sense at all. Outside of Ethereum, the marketcaps of certain cryptocurrencies are hugely dwarfed by bitcoin's marketcap(not to mention their marketcaps are really inaccurate due to the huge amounts that the devs hold).
I so much read about ChainLink, a coin that worth nothing before, it's price increase from less than $4 last year to more than $25 this year. This has been a great increase, I had to study about the coin, but I later found out that 80% of the coin is controlled by 125 wallets, this is so surprising to me, the coin can easily be manipulated. There are many of such cryptocurrencies out there, why we need to be careful of altcoins.
5598  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Cz taking advantage of the Nigerian government ban on bitcoin wrongly. on: February 08, 2021, 07:39:43 AM
There was a better way he would had passed that information without trying to decieve the masses with the gesture of his exchange been secure meanwhile it just got hacked few months back. He showed focus on offering the trading trading service not wallet service..
Having our bitcoin and crypto on noncustodial wallets has been the best, we have the key and we have the coins, unlike using custodial exchanges which can lead to our account frozen or blocked, because the companies providing such service are the one in control while the exchanges can be hacked. Banks can be safer to keep money, but we should know that African banks like Nigerian banks are not safer, not because our money can be stolen but because of high rate of fiat devaluation in the country. Worth of $1000 in Naira in 10 years will likely devalued to $100, if such can happen, we are not just safe, naira is just a deflationary money.

That aside, from a friend of mine while in school and also from my sister last year, without leaking the pin and the long ATM card number, their bank account were hacked, my sister is very sensitive, I believe the fault is not from her side, but a country where sim swap can happen, also bank worker can become the attackers, which likely means that the hack was from the bank, banks are not that safe as we think, neither were custodial exchanges. We are safe until we have our private keys.

The best we can have is to have our private key with us, and control our funds, what Nigeria government are now try to make difficult for us, the main fault are from the Nigerian government/CBN. Binance did not freeze our funds and we can trader it to noncustodial wallets, but Nigerian banks are the ones making our lives miserable because our bank account linked to crypto exchanges will be blocked, no freedom but authoritarian set of leaders.
5599  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Want to use wasabi wallet to coinjoin or mixers are better on: February 07, 2021, 09:27:49 AM
Simply I will ask to use a reputed mixer. I can't recall the thread or post, but I have heard a few exchanges suspend an account due to funds transacted from CoinJoin.
Yes, I have read online about freezing of accounts due to coinjoin, here is another one posted above, I have heard several ccases of this and thinking to use mixers.

https://www.reddit.com/r/CryptoCurrency/comments/ecud4w/binance_freezes_btc_linked_to_wasabi_coinjoin_and/

Using a mixer will be the best on my side, thank you all for your guidance.
5600  Economy / Economics / Re: PayPal cryptocurrency trading volume beyond expectations on: February 06, 2021, 11:21:46 AM
For those who want to invest in cryptocurrency, with small amounts such as $50 or $100, PayPal is a good option.
Your comment is totally inaccurate, the best to do is to get yourself a noncustodial wallet for investment. For small amount like the one above, online wallet can be good but for high amount, hardware wallet will be safer. Not you key not your coin is the saying, you can not also even use PayPal to send crypto to another wallet, you can only use it to buy and sell.
