So we can expect a minimum of 12K by May?

Not bad

*insert Obama meme*

Unless everything goes pear shaped in the upcoming SW2X fork. I'm still pondering what to do with my coins during the fork.

Me too. But first see where it goes now, eventually convert a large part in fiat just before or after Nov. 15 fork?  And meanwhile, what happened to the "Gold" boys and their fork? Straight evaporated?

Faucets are soon to be a relic... . The whole captcha shit and the new mining virus is going to ruin the concept.

"Coinbase Adds A Record 100,000 Bitcoin Traders In One Day"

A wave is coming...

That 's Dimon 's employees coming to sell their stash... . To their CME customers... .

Surely gold or any other traditional investments didn't have the ROI of BTC but...... maybe it contributed to the ROI of your Bitcoin stash.... How? Well, once you already have extracted/diversified enough into other assets (like gold) that you feel financially safe you can let your BTC roll without that much care than if you didn't.
My point is stable (bad performing) assets are another piece in the puzzle of financial safety. Or at least that's what I tend to think, but I like to hear more opinions about it.

Huh ? Wha ? The only way I'm going to get any "contribution" to my financials from liquidating my GLD holdings, will be a deduction to offset capital gains.

If an asset performs as badly as GLD has, for as long as it has, my strategy is to put it into something more aggressive. I'll be liquidating my GLD holdings this year, and reinvesting.

Any investment not likely to pull in greater than 8% a year bores me.

I've tried to be "responsible" by holding GLD for as long as I have on principle, but, fuck it. Life is too short.

Yes, but still... . I kicked half of GLD in May and I am happy that now I do not have to worry about the return of GLD.

It's the train that never stops going.

Mind The Gap.

Perhaps the train is stationary and it is the entire station that is coming or going #relativity

Relatively speaking we are travelling through space so incredibly fast the difference is negligible but even if we accept the stationary nature of any point in the picture, since the train seems to be going in either direction, it is averaging a velocity of zero relative to the platform.

A bit like the Tube in London is known to occasionally do, despite my national pride in this historic early urban transport network.

At least it isn't steam trains any more, as it was when it opened.

I love the excuses and apologies on the speakers when the tube is hit by Einstein 's law... .

How pleasant. I turn my back for a minute and see I missed a new ATH.

$6.3 and we still have a couple of days left in October.

Go Bitcoin go.

Can you do that again, please?  Wink
567  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: October 29, 2017, 03:59:47 PM
Last few days BTC was oversold. The depth of the markets shows that the demand is rapidly increasing. Moreover at least 1/3 of the miners switched to BCH which is more profitable by 50%. I expected the price would hold during the weekend and probably go up in the next few days. Who knows, may be another ATH is coming?

Since Ver/Wu/Wright own 97% of BCH mining, they can do the following:

1. Mine BCH, wash trade, and accumulate BCH on the down low

2. Switch mining hashrate from BTC to BCH

3. Pump BCH, lock up mining blocks, trade BCH for BTC into the pump

4. Switch hashrate back to BTC, pump BTC

5. Sell traded BTC into the pump, or just hold on to it (making them wealthier).

6. Profit

I contend that BCH is still just a money making scam to them. Sad that anyone would fall for that garbage. They don't want BCH, they want your Bitcoin. You'll see all that here soon, when you see BCH drop and BTC start to rise again.

And don't think for a second that their little operation isn't being "subsidized" by outside elements.

And that is probably what the copy cats of Gold want(ed) to immitate... . Not good for BTC.
568  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: [Unofficial] Coinpot.co - new microwallet on: October 28, 2017, 01:14:35 PM
Watch out! Scammers! They give you a deposit address, but if you deposit something will never get it! They steal your coins. Dont send them anything! You will lose your coins!

Are you talking about CoinPot? There are user complaints here about them not getting their coins. But for me so far I have not lost a deposit or a withdrawal. But I'm saying that with apprehension. I don't know what's really going on for example if these users have violated any rules or not but CoinPot has simply chosen to ignore them. Having said that, a lot other users have had positive experience, me included.

I too have always had a good experience but like you these kind of posts make me nervous. Perhaps the OP can elaborate on what exactly happened and whether it was CoinPot's fault or theirs?

That is a bit difficult to determine. I don't think any one of them would admit it's their fault. I guess we'll just have to accept CoinPot's own 'verdict' if one of us gets banned for violating the rules... or not because they don't even give the reason why some of us don't get our coins.

Withdrawing from Coinpot never is a problem. But depositing is a bit different. I did it once so far, and it took 32 days for my deposit to show up in the Coinpot balance... .
569  Economy / Speculation / Re: "Big News From China" is spreading false information, Exchangers are banned ! on: October 28, 2017, 12:58:01 PM
I can't understand what's the problem? Even if China banned the exchange of bitcoin into yuan it will not change anything. Exchanges outside of China will exchange crypto currencies for the dollar and the Chinese will get on their Bank account transfers in dollars. It seems to me that such news will not affect the attitude of Chinese people to cryptocurrency. There are issues much more important.

China is a capital control country you know? if you can't trade for CNY, then it has nothing to do with China anymore.
NO USD/EUR/CAD/GBP/JPY/etc goes in nor comes out from China. Chinese used to buy Bitcoin in China and dump aboard to bypass the control, this is one of the many reasons of the ban.

So the interesting question is : how do the Chinese evade the ban? By smugling gold to Japan and Korea ? And convert it there into USD and BTC ?

For now, most Chinese is simply out. the rest is using localbitcoin like websites to do p2p trading.

And that brings the next question : some of the biggest miners are Chinese, so what happens with their proceeds? It is not possible that it stays intra China, so are they "Exporting" their coins in exchange for Euro, USD currencies ?

They can sell through p2p trading in China or sell to foreign buyer / exchanger and receive the payment in their offshore bank account.

If that is how it goes, then it means that Gov. will also crackdown on the miners. What seems unlogical. If they want to avoid capital flight out of the country, they would rather let the miners export their coins for foreign valuta?

I thought that a little off-putting gayness was keeping with our recent thread theme.

See what happens when you meddle with powers you don't understand ?

Thanks for crashing the price, faggot.

That's right ! I just called you a bundle of sticks !

What are you gonna do about it ?!

Wow seems some c**ts are stuck in the Middle Ages mindset. Plebs!!!!

Just a solid grain of salt... .  Cheesy Wink

Site down :/

Yes, it seems down to me, too. Unfortunately this happens from time to time, almost once a month recently. I hope they fix it soon.

Did the admin explain previously why it was down? Is it under maintenance or it was under attacked? I hope it's only under maintenance because I still got some bits hanging there  Sad

I have a lot of bits hanging there... . And the Kraken exchange is now also down... .

Kraken works for me.

The down was a "Flash" down... .

A correction of nothing and we see pants being wetted again. Nice for traders but uneventful for HODLers. It will get interesting once the price doubles in 1 week. We are not there yet.

We already lost our pants to MBC, so nothing to worry... .

Network effect. Facebook is an abomination that should objectively be burnt to the ground, and ZukZuk strung up for spying on the world.

It's amazing to me how all the govt/state spy devices are being hard marketed and sold to the public, right to their faces, and they will just fall for it because 'muh innovashuns'.

Social media apps to collect your browsing, interests, and conversation data. Smart phones and smart watches to track your every location and record your calls and texts, smart home devices (Google Home, Amazon Echo, Apple HomePod) to secretly listen/spy on your private in-home conversations and record your voice and discussions, CCTV cameras on every street corner and in every public space, etc.

Call me paranoid, but things are heading in a very negative direction when it comes to personal privacy rights.  Angry

We are already longtime there... . Take your Soma and you don 't worry too much.

And democracy is mob rule. BEFORE women got the right to vote, we did not have mob rule.

You clearly were born after women had the right to vote and your knowledge of history is shorter than yesterday... .

in topic I'm now all in cash with my funds on exchanges. Won't buy back until a Big Dump happens.

Is that not a bit early?

better safe than sorry.

All your funds, either btc, or cash, on exchanges isn't that safe. Just saying...
Yeah but frankly, some of us have made more off those exchanges than is currently on them. So.

Never more than the strict necessary and affordable in exchanges... .
580  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: October 22, 2017, 09:53:21 PM
I only moved all BTC out of exchange (only one, Kraken). So I did not sell. And kept my alts on (most LTC).

Sometimes selling looks like a good idea. Like now:

edit: I'm holding my LTC too, obviously.

Agreed, but that was also seemingly the case in May-June... .
