ifran doesnt respond to bounties that wont be paid....ive seen this 3+ cases now, its sad to see . I personally thought he was a trusted manager but after doing 5 bounties with him and being paid 1 time out of 5 i will not trust his work anymore, and he doesnt even have the decency to respond and tell people if payment is actually coming or not, very disrespectful and bad management skills sucks for everybody here who has promoted the product but yes , payment will NOT be coming imo, dont hold your breath |

So what are you proposing that be done against shady behavior regarding the merit system? Nothing? Or are you simply saying that *we could/should* tag them, but that some of the tag's by actmyname were unwarranted?
I think that tagging may be appropriate in particularly obvious cases, or particularly egregious cases involving hundreds of merit points and several posts. But generally you should start out by assuming good faith, and only change that opinion as the evidence really piles up. Tagging someone immediately after an instance of apparently-inexplicable meriting is too trigger-happy IMO. Even if it is a case of illegitimate merit, even hundreds of illegitimate merit points are not much of a problem IMO, so you have to ask whether it's worthwhile to possibly make a mistake by tagging someone who is merely suspicious. Now, I'm not 100% sure that actmyname's ratings are outside of what I would consider appropriate, which is why I didn't take action to immediately remove him. But from what I've seen, it does seem likely that he is too trigger-happy. i was negative trusted because i was offering somebody to merit my good posts and id merit his good posts..... i didnt think this would be against the rules...... i thought the point of merit system was to merit good posts........ i wasnt saying hey merit me for some crap post and ill do the same??? and i was banned 7 days i learned my lesson from that was sorry i honestly wasnt trying to "Farm" or "Cheat" i was making some decent posts and nobody was seeing them so i thought that could help.... i think me being banned 7 days was enough i learned my lesson and i wouldnt even try to ask anybody for merit i will now just let it come organically even though it still sucks im 14 days away from senior member and it will take FOREVER to get 250 merit.... 7 day ban taught me a lesson, the untrust from act is just a slap in the face when ive actually been a legit member for half a year and never did anything wrong before and honestly wasnt trying to cheat the system..... 7 day ban was my warning and i wouldnt do anything again then he just untrusts me right when i come back when im trying to be a good member .. i hope this can be fixed because ruining my account over a mistake/ misinterpertation isnt fair , if i knew asking people to merit my good posts and id look at their good posts i wouldnt have bothered getting untrusted / banned for 1 merit point out of 250... |

How can a system be so unfair to people who needed one week for the next rank? This is extremely disappointing, I haven't received a single merit for helping quality posts in a whole week.
The people who are supposed to be slowed by this system simply go to a merit brigading channel and merit each other.
That would be some irony right there lol.. the scammers/spammers/trolls etc. who the Merit system is designed to punish find ways to cheat the system and level up. While the legit members who the Merit system is designed to aid get next to no Merit due to scarcity and lack of desire to Merit. It may work out this way, but who knows.. is early days lol my thoughts exactly.. people will always scam, now accounts just cost more to buy and people will do the same thing and the members who are legit get negative results, funny how it works |

helpful posts, engaging posts about the crypto space, make a solid thread that gets activity, answer peoples questions, just be a good community member basically is what im seeing... but again its all subjective, sometimes you wont get merit for these, sometimes you will i have created a thread for project and i have answered numerous questions and i have helped people achieved certain things. because this forum is filled by spammers/botters that live with bitcointalk incomes.
this is the huge problem.
but we can't beat them with Merit system.
So what solution do you propose? i like the KYC idea so youre bound to one account, no multiple accounts and activity only raises if you do a certain number of characters typing per week also if the merit is around it should be adjusted so people with more activity closer to ranks have more merit, having the same merit at the top of a rank opposed to somebody who just got the rank , makes 0 sense |

youll have to comment "useful" posts which is very subjective
roam around the forums, help others, have meaningful discussions about crypto currency or whatever sub thread youre in
then HOPE somebody will see this and send you "smerit"
for every 1 merit you receive from a sender you will get half of that "smerit" in return so you can send to other you see fit
so if i send you 10 merit youll have 5 "Smerit" that you can now send to people you feel had good posts... for example

Sad to say but, you aint gunna get those needed merits anytime soon. We, of the lower ranks, have come to believe that this was implemented in order that the Legendary/Heros get all the bounties..That is what it looks like.. exactly... im 2 weeks away from senior member now i need 150 merit points almost..... how long will this take?? i was 2 weeks away , now it will probably take 6 months the rich get richer, thats the concept of this... now all the people with "smerit" act like gods and i see that even higher ranks that were close to rankings up got more merit which only makes sense... not sure how im basically at senior member but i have the merit of a person who just got full member ?? even though ive been very active since signing up.. just sucks , but nobody cares tbh this is the new system , adapt or get left behind Wish i had some merit to give you..This is the worst idea ever... thanks buddy... i appreciate the thought i actually do like the concept behind the idea from stopping bad posters and trolls but it really is negative for people who are in my position so close to ranking up... i seen they adjusted merit for higher ranks who had more activity when im 12 activity away from being senior member im not sure why id have same merit as a person who became full member 10 days ago..... imo anybody 20 activity away should be given much closer merit then somebody who just achieved the rank . so if i need 250 merit im starting at 100 merit is a joke imo, i should at least be given 175 range... then i get a negative trust for trying to get my merit up saying im farming lol...... so what i just post and try to help posters every single day and hope i get 1 merit a day max.... nice that 150 merit now will take 3-8 months if i try every single day on this forum..... when i was literally 2 weeks away lol |

If you have valid collateral you will get a loan, simple as that. Your negative trust should not influence that.

"Basically nothing" is to offer something worthless as collateral? If you don't see what is wrong here then you have serious problem 1. with your eyes 2. with your judgement meter. im not saying in this case, im saying in general ... ive seen multiple people get negative trust for "bad english" asking for loans with not enough collateral ... maybe they dont understand the concept and need to be shown how to lend before crucifying them and negative trusting their account to screw them over for future loans?  1. use your eyes 2. use your judgement meter... youre absolutely right people can loan their coins with risk because its the internet and people do scam of course, youre not wrong at all in that part. But people just throwing around negative trust , ruining peoples accounts without cheating or scamming isnt right IMO... if somebody actually follows through with a scam or is completely being a troll about it then i understand, but before a transaction even occurs when it seems it could be normal i dont understand... If the guy is asking for something like 1btc or a huge amount then its extremely fishy, i just would like to see what hes asking for first and ask a bit of background before killing him |

realistically nobody will know if bitcoin is truly dead, but if you look at the past and the trends in crypto currency and mainly Bitcoin, its been deemed "dead" multiple times and has come back every single time.. of course bitcoin was hitting ATH getting around 20k each coin, everybody was happy and all the other coins were flying, now Bitcoin is "dying" and the other coins are suffering as well. But with so much money in the market and so much hype still around crypto i cannot see bitcoin "dead" at least not yet in 2018, so much potential for growth and new ATH still , rich people control money in all standards of life... if billionaires have money in bitcoin and other cryptos they wont just let it die.. realistically its the market being manipulated so people can buy cheap coins now while the FUD is being spread to reap huge rewards when everything goes back up again.... again take everybodys opinion with a grain of salt, but i think everything will be ok in the long run, fingers crossed  |
