They're pretty, but can't do mich with 63Ghs.
I'm banking on the fact that they'll make reasonable gifts for people during the holidays!  I'll also be taking one to work and plopping it on my desk, maybe even give one to the boss.
562  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Antminer U3: Decentralization continued. Order now, Ship on Nov. 5th on: October 18, 2014, 10:43:25 PM
Very cool design.  Unfortunately I can't afford 60 of them so I'll keep an eye out for group buys of these.

Also keeping a look out for a group buy.
I could order the 60 since I have enough BTC, but I don't need 60 and I'm not able to manage a group buy at the moment.
I've got my GB (for US folks) here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=827783.0

565  Bitcoin / Group buys / [CLOSED] BITMAIN ANTMINER U3 USA GB on: October 18, 2014, 10:34:28 PM
Hey guys and gals!

I'm polling for interest in pulling together a GB for the newly announced BITMAIN Antminer U3 for US members.  I'll be purchasing up to 30 of the units myself, so we'll have at least 30 to move for other individuals.  Apparently 60 of the devices will weight about 220 lbs., so if their is enough interest we've got to run the math and calculate shipping into the cost of each unit.

Let me know if you are interested by responding to this thread or shooting me a PM (I ran my first successful GB here!) and I'll start the wheels turning--we'll order as soon as we fund the total cost between us.   I'm located in the central US, and have current capacity to package and ship the orders upon arrival in no more than 48 hours.  BITMAIN is stating that these will ship in the first week of November, and they generally hit their windows or ship earlier.

----Cost----

Shipping for 60 units is an additional BTC 1.49, which brings the total cost of shipping 60 to the US to BTC 10.  I'm not going to charge members any additional handling fee, so each unit is priced at BTC 0.167 (minus the final shipping to you in the US).

BTC prices be crazy, ya'll.  We're going to use a fixed BTC price of 0.2 BTC per unit (minus shipping) starting with batch 2.  If things go sideways we'll reevaluate that price!

----Shipping----

I prefer to ship via USPS, as I'm located less than a half mile from a major sorting facility in my area.  Once the units arrive, you can send me a PDF label address shipping from the 73013 ZIP code.  Other shipping methods can be arranged, but please PM me in advance if you plan on using something other than USPS!  I'll provide USPS shipping options in this thread as soon as I get a chance to sit down and do the math.

According to the BM site, each unit is weights slightly over 3 lbs.  I've sent an email to get the dimension of the packaging for each unit, which will allow us to determine the final shipping arrangements.  As soon as I hear back I'll post that data here.

----B1 Participants----

TracerX . . . . 30 units
Tuaris . . . . . 2 units
Anonymous . 2 units
Redrover . . . 1 unit
fullzero . . . . 5 units

----B2 Participants----

I think Flame Sax sums it up nicely--these are serious fans.
567  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BITMAIN‘s Liquid Cooled Miner C1: It is not only cool, but it is cool on: October 18, 2014, 06:11:26 PM
The C1 controller appears to be based on the Beaglebone Black (BBB) open source design which has a 1Ghz Sitara.. this should make the web interface of the C1 much more responsive than what is experienced with the S3 miner.

This picture shows a fully populated BBB, it's safe to assume the included BBB will be a board stripped down to the essential components to run the C1 miner.. however, if your board ever failed it would be easy to replace with a BBB.

The S2 used this stripped down BBB as well.  I believe a number of S2 owners replaced that controller with a "full" BBB.

Here's the data on the Prisma's fan, the PFC1212DE:

http://www.digikey.com/product-detail/en/PFC1212DE-F00/603-1164-ND/1850533

66dB, although I found a couple sources on Google that listed a "maximum" limit of 70dB.

"Mining machine at a distance of one meter, the measured noise about 80dBa."

For reference, I've seen SPTech SP10 measured between 68-76dBa.  Not that I don't trust his meter, but can anyone else verify that the prisma is really that loud?
FTA: "3 noise, the manufacturers due to achieve the purpose of cooling, using up to 4.8a fan violence, including this absolutely superb cooling fan is also a first-class wind noise is also a tucao point, apply a treasure buyers tucao sounds like an airplane taking off and landing to describe though a bit too, but in the arrangement of the mine should give due consideration to this aspect, it is recommended to select the more remote places like industrial areas or suburbs."

Emphasis mine.  They are using a Delta fan which are top-notch, usually loud fans.  I'll go dig up the specs from Delta, but I would assume you need to keep this out of the home office.

When two tubes get together they make baby rboxes.
ha!

Time to update that then bitch?

No need to be a dick, man.  We're all expected to make our own decisions here--if people buy a product before doing any research in a specific model (in this case, the S4) then they may be in for a bad time.  Dogie's manufacturer guide is a starting point, not the end all be all.  What dog (pardon the pun) do you have in this fight?

It is very feesible to put a whole chain on one USB controller adapter to use with a computer (aka RPi). The problem is the RPi has it's Ethernet on a USB port also as part of the internal hub. So what happens is interrupt problems because you are trying to keep your data stream constant on both Ethernet and to the USB connected miners.
Does anyone know of a SoC device that is designed in a way that avoids this issue?  A Hummingbird, or BBB?

Thanks for the explanation, @sdjernes. I had no idea about that USB<>Ethernet problem on the RPI and did not think there could be such an issue with the RPI B+.

And yes, so if the AM ethernet controller and a RPI based controller solution are out of question, which low-cost & low-power SoC device capable of running Minera and one or more chains of Prismas would be appropriate?

I don't think an RPi controller is out of the question. It may have limitations, but AM rates the RPi as being able to handle up to 4 Prismas. If you are looking to run more than 4, I might suggest a beaglebone black or 2 RPis.
Thanks CG,  I'll probably grab an RPI from you and pick up a BBB online for future projects.  The BBB has a seperate Ethernet control chip, for anyone interested--I just finished up researching them.

I'm on OSX.  I was able to setup and use the Trezor in Safari (I don't use Safari generally), but it won't work in Chrome (my main browser).  It asks me to install the browser plugin, which I do, but then that message doesn't go away.

Chrome is not supported on Mac OS X at the moment.

That's odd, it seems to work for me. Can I provide some information to troubleshoot this issue perhaps?
I'm also using the stable channel of Chrome on OSX Yosemite B3 and it works just fine!
577  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [OPEN] ASICMiner Prisma 1.4th/s - 1.47 BTC - Batch 4- Free Ant Jumper on: October 06, 2014, 03:27:48 PM
Batch 3 order has been placed. We are waiting on a response from friedcat to determine if the price increased between batch 2 and batch 3. In the event the price increased for batch 3, you will be given the option of paying the difference or receiving a refund.
Cheers.

++; this is a great PSU if you don't want to hassle with server grade PSU gear.

Should fit well.
The Tubes fit well in one.
Length is the only issue.

Yeah, it's two feet 14 inches long.  I'm planning on working without the aluminium "handles" to shave off a little space, and maybe pull off the stock fan as well.  The "donor" S2 is in the DC--I'll pull measurements tomorrow.

In other news, anyone want to buy S2 blades? ;-)

Good work Sherlock Holmes. You used shit from a year AFTER the page in question.  It's 2014 NOW you idiot. We're talking about 2013.  Try to keep up. The sad part is, I know you try your hardest to keep up, but you just can't quite ever figure out what's going on around you.  I bet you are amazing to watch in real life, stumbling and bumbling your way through your daily routines.
I bet you're fun at parties....
