561  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Newbie to Altcoins on: September 06, 2017, 05:42:42 AM
for a newbie playing altcoin it's a bit more dificult.
i sugest you focus improving rankings.
so you can follow bounty sosmed and signature camp.

Here is how is started to trade:

1. Regularly read Bitcointalk forum
2. Check coinmarketcap.com for current real coin values
3. Check coinmarketcap.com history of coin you are interested in
4. Check the ANN thread of the coin on Bitcointalk
5. Many coins have their own blogs/ forums you need to follow to be up to date
6. At start choose coins that are already established and stable
7. Make yourself a portfolio of 3 - 5 coins for start
8. Do not jump in ongoing coin pumps, you never know when it will dump.
9. Make yourself a strategy for coins you will long term invest and maybe 2 gamble coins.
10. I recommend starting with Bittrex
11. Do not instantly sell your coins if they dumb instantly for no obvious reason ( research why)
12. At the beginning its better to aim for small profits like 5% - 10% +
13. Always keep some BTC to react when needed (buy)
14. Start slowly, take your time. 2 month in research and observation is recommended.
15. Always reinvest a share of your profit in your favorite coins and use a share of profit to gamble
16. Do not jump instant in new coins with big investment. If it looks promising to you start low and follow the progress.
17. If you advance and make good experience you could start to invest in icos, but watch out lots of scam around.

^^^ Good luck!

The first time I know this coin, is it very powerful? Is it worth long-term investment?

The coin is not released at this point!

Furthermore, the coin is not the main aspect of this 2 projects, the coin is used for the platform and the goal is to build up a "real" ecosystem, not only release a coin which only purpose is to get traded. However, we do understand the trading aspect and will support it in near future!
563  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][EU] LICENSIUM - The future of licensing & monetizing digital content! on: September 06, 2017, 03:43:50 AM
any whitepaper devs? interesting concept but I'll have to see more from the team and your level of commitment.

it would be good if you have at least an alpha. it leaves a very bad taste if you come here unprepared and look to raise funds. the investor deck looks like it's done by an amateur.
This is the whitepaper download link https://www.dropbox.com/s/k4sgbvqe0v1o1ap/licensium-and-trusted-nodes-white-paper.pdf?dl=0
There is a slide to on OP to make it easier.

Thank you for pointing that out! Much appreciated!

Hello!

Many thx for your input! I appreciate your suggestions and positive comments!

We are in a living process here, transparent building up the 2 projects. It is early stage as you might have read over. I believe we are giving more info in that state than many other projects out there. You must also understand that we will not release sensitive data before the actual ico is going to happen and as said more info is coming, step by step. As you might have notice there is no "active" investor search atm, this is the start! There are no bounties atm, but we are working on them to get them up in near future.

I'm sure you know by yourself, that starting is not always that easy and everything needs time! If you have your own project running I would like that you send me your link via pm that we as a team can learn from you how its done proper, as you will for sure know! Thank you for your help!

566  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: what will happen to ETH now that ICO is dead? on: September 05, 2017, 01:12:46 PM
ICOs dead or not, I think it wouldn't affect ETH for sure. ETH is already quite famous today, so if there is ICOs or not ETH will always remain in demand. Remember when ETH still newcomer, people said he's scam but he rise up.

Exactly, China's intention is not to ban the ICO's but to protect the investors from the scams. If they form any legal regulation then people can easily invest into ICO without any problems. I don't see speculation for ETH because already ETH price is very strong in the market.

I would say its about:

- Money lounderey
- Investor protection
- Tax collection
- Control

Yet as some guys already mentioned,  Chinas ICOs wont be forbidden, just regulated.
567  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: China, Paris Hilton and ICOs - what a day. on: September 05, 2017, 12:58:10 PM
It is not that late for celebrities to realize the potential of the crypto-world. It is expected that more and more wild ICOs will be coming.

there is/was somewhere some celebrity coin around, I think it already started... soon we will have Hilton coins, Schwarzenegger coins... :-)

Will add to the list:

- Compile with local laws / if any (China example)
569  Other / Meta / Re: How to combat the surge in scam ICOs on: September 05, 2017, 10:43:31 AM
Ya sure I will do it alone.... Why not...
I thought it was doable, or was that only when others do the thinking for you?

How is about making a public discussion and take other options on board...
Create a proposal alone then come to the public with it and discuss.

I dont know why you hostile, but ok... Sorry for distracting you trying to give an impuls!
Your idea/suggestion is flawed and easily got shot down, which you see as hostility. That's how weak the thinking behind it is.

But you do understand that I made this impulse for the sake of the community not because of my self, I do not have nothing from it personally... And I will certainly not come up with a FULL developed concept ALONE!

And why you think things must go like you suggest? Well nvm, I see you are not a big help to this topic! Sorry again to distract you, and just let it go please...

P.s.: Making a fee for ANN is something good I can agree to it...
570  Other / Meta / Re: How to combat the surge in scam ICOs on: September 05, 2017, 10:13:04 AM
1. Democratically voting members into the committee ( min 20 people to avoid corruption)
Democratic voting by who? Farmed accounts, shitposters and spammers? Roll Eyes

2. Make a fee for it and pay committee members and infrastructure
This would not be worth the effort/reward.

3. Needs much more thinking to find a proper working solution. But I believe its doable!
Everyone says something like that, similarly for the trust system. Come up with a fully detailed solution that works both in theory and practice, and then we can talk about whether it's doable or not.

Maybe a community driven audit service?
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2135456.40
That will not work: 1) Hard to choose said members. 2) Said members would have to *waste their free time* to essentially be doing someone elses homework. 3) Prone to abuse and corruption. As we've seen with other members in the past, they're willing to sell themselves out for a penny (e.g. Quickseller bogus escrow).

Some ANN fee
Should be mandatory IMO.

No answer, as expected.

1. Democratically voting members into the committee ( min 20 people to avoid corruption)
2. Make a fee for it and pay committee members and infrastructure
3. Needs much more thinking to find a proper working solution. But I believe its doable!
4. It can be never regulative more a added trust factor at the end always investor decides by himself where to invest under which circumstances...

But as said, its just a thought....
572  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: what will happen to ETH now that ICO is dead? on: September 05, 2017, 09:48:00 AM
China is just one country.
The entire world did not ban ICO Wink

Definitely correct...
China is not the whole world...
And not all ICO's are found only at China...
Therefore time will come that all legal ICO's will bounce back...
.
And if the real intention of Chinese government is indeed to eliminate fraud ICO's.
Then i salute them...
Cheesy

definitely wrong.
right now China just set an extremely good example/standard for "how to get rid of ICO",there will be more and more countries would follow China steps.

It is not about getting rid of ICOs its about controlling them, sort out scam and prolly take financial advantage (Tax collection).
573  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to deal with the big amount of possible upcoming scam ico's in future? on: September 05, 2017, 09:37:26 AM
99% all scam. SEC tweeting that they are scams, even china banning ico because they are scams

We should not generalize too much, we need to "Separate the spread from the wheat" some mechanisms need to come up...

I am curious when and what ICO you will start promoting soon. Smiley

Anyway, if investors are not protected by any law, if the developers are not accountable for their work then you know for sure it's scam.

When I will see a real company, visited by real people, with proper authorization from financial institutions, in ALL the countries they sell their ICO, then I will admit that is not a scam and I will invest in it!

Until then, all ICO's are scam until proven legit.

"When I will see a real company, visited by real people, with proper authorization from financial institutions"

There are companies running ICOs, just research a little, not many but there are.

"ALL the countries they sell their ICO":

This happens nowhere, not even in RL IPOs. The court location called is usually the country the company is located...

"I am curious when and what ICO you will start promoting soon"

The ico we are going to launch, we will launch as registered company with real people, I would never make a creepy anonymous launch.
We are prepared to pay taxes and everything else related.
I do not understand why some1 wouldn't do it official? You can rise enough funds via ICO to be legal and pay all necessary taxes to function. None official would ring my bells and prolly is high chance to be scam.

575  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: China's Central Bank Declares ICO Illegal on: September 05, 2017, 08:32:23 AM
As I already said in other threads with the China topic:

There are 2 scenarios for me:

1. Atm we have 4 countries regulating icos that is by far not "ALL" world. Other countries will slowly follow and icos will be regulated everywhere. The regulations will force issuers of icos to register a company, be transparent, pay taxes and give guaranties to investors and be fully legal responsible.

2. Not all countries will follow, anonymous coins will rise and icos will be held in countries with no regulations. Everything will work as before...

I would only panic about investing in scam icos no matter in which country the ico is hold.
A possible solution could be: Community driven audit service >>>  discussion here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2135456.new#new

2 scenarios for me:

1. Currently we have 4 countries regulating or trying to regulate icos. This is still not the hole world. Other countries might slowly follow and icos will be regulated everywhere. The regulations will force platforms or issuers of icos to register a company, be transparent, pay taxes and give guaranties to investors and be fully legal responsible. So platforms like ETH will need to compile with local laws.

2. Not all countries will follow, anonymous coins will rise and icos will be held in countries with no regulations. Everything will work as before...

ETH might temporary loose but in regards of this 2 scenarios stabilization should come. (Im not endorsing to invest in ETH, tho)

I more worry what kind of damage scam icos can do to ETH in the long run....

So something needs to be done against scam icos in future: Community driven audit service? https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2135456.40
578  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Should We Be Panic Of ICO Ban? on: September 05, 2017, 07:37:54 AM
The price of altcoin and bitcoin drop. Should we be panic? What do you think of the situation. Will ICOs stop because of the ban by China, Russia and Korea? Will others follow those countries? What is the future of ICO?

I would only panic about investing in scam icos.

Other there are 2 scenarios for me:

579  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Does ICO regulations make cryptocurrencies now official currencies? on: September 05, 2017, 07:21:41 AM
Some experimental thought:

All taking about investing in ICOs will be illigal or regulated all over the world (we have atm  4 countries regualting, that is by far not the world) but what is actually invested in icos, no real money!!! Its like you buy with USD 1 KG of iron nails and give it to a company that needs iron nails to build a house. You expect profit once the house is build.

Im not a lawyer but I believe in order to call something a "security" or "investment" it would needs include "hard" official money at some point. But this is by cryptocurencies not the case because there is actually no "official" value invested... Some1 bought something, invested the something and this something got traded... That BTC has a USD value is another story but yet its not a "official" currency controlled by a government so that it can be applied to any "security" o "investment" rules...

^^^ experimental, tho and not really fully thought over....

Anyways, Im for the voices that calling out that something needs to be done to get the scam Icos under control, but Im uncertain what is the best approach!

Maybe a community driven audit service?

580  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to deal with the big amount of possible upcoming scam ico's in future? on: September 05, 2017, 05:20:23 AM
I have a pretty simple strategy of investing in an ICO at the end of it either in the last three days or a week. As it saves me from getting scammed as till the end of the ICO it gets cleared that the project is a scam or not by the amount of funds invested in it.

Biggest scams in history lived for decades with billions invested. Wink

You know that I agree on the scam problematic, but not every alt coin project or new launched ico is necessarily a scam.

Nope. ICO = scam

IPO's are not necessarily scam cause they are well regulated, with real persons and real companies with real product, working already at the day of the IPO offering.

ICO = scam, no company, no people, no address, no demand and no jail when they scam. That's why they scam, why launch a product if you already got the money?
Just make another ICO!

There are companies with real people, real address launching icos. In my opinion and I might be wrong (my current level of understanding) is that ICOs are the IPOs of old economy at least by idea, no?

How would you make a investment plan for a project what is in early stage? Making a RL IPO is taking much more time, money and effort an ICO is a faster way. That the idea of ICO is raped and abused that is another story. I see nothing wrong to look for investment for projects that are not fully established. This is ongoing in RL since decades. Many ideas, technologies so on wouldn't be here, because not everyone has the capital to realize a project from scratch to end and make a IPO afterwards.

And as said I do agree on 90% you are saying and its mandatory today to: "Separate the spread from the wheat". But I cannot agree that every ICO is scam, sorry! Many, many are...

I would like to encourage you to think on a solution to "Separate the spread from the wheat" more than saying: "ALL" Icos are BAD, SCAM... <<< That doesn't help and I think you have a higher level of understanding an experience you could add to provide something to a possible solution!
