561  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Know when to ride and stop! on: December 26, 2023, 05:56:56 AM
That's a great tip, @OP. Indeed, we have to know when to stop, especially after winning. Most gamblers find it difficult to stop once they win. They are lured into chasing more wins. They also do it when they lose.

This one, most of the time it's hard to stop because we are greedy and chasing more wins. But if you think of it, at least if you have a small bankroll and then win big already, it might be better to stop and just enjoy the winnings.

The feeling of a gambler who has often gambled can catch a signal that he is in a bad situation. But it was his ego that made him continue gambling. If he could stop at that moment, he could prevent more losses.

It's more of the greed, we think (I include myself), that we can continue to win and never wanted to stop as we are looking for more money. But if we lose everything, we regret that we didn't exited on time.
562  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Wilder Vs Parker & Joshua Vs Wallin Boxing Mega Saudi card 23rd December on: December 26, 2023, 05:33:50 AM
You know what? I am actually really impressed that such kind of even was even managed. While we see how hard and long negotiations are with top boxers, but this time, in rather quick and easy manner UAE has organized an even with such stars. AJ, Wilder, Parker, Bivol, Dubois, Opetaia in single night. It is rare to see such. I dont care a lot about results (even though Wilder fight stands out from others), as whole event was great.

It was made possible because promoters are willing to spend a lot of money to make it happen. We have lots of rich people in that country, just like when they hosted the Fury vs Ngannou fight, both made a decent paycheck. There are even rumors before that they are willing to pay big money just to make a Pacman vs Marquez after Marquez KO Pacman cold but Marquez decline a huge offer, so we can say that there's a lot of money there.

Of course, there will be enough money for everyone, but it's the question, as a boxing fan are you willing to watch the fight though?

It's not comparable to Manny vs JMM, they have history together and it's a back and forth war, they go at it during their primes. Not like this one, in which they have a chance to fight early when they haven't lost but refuses because they want to create more hype in their names.

But now it's a different story, might be good it Wilder will go on another cherry pick up if he wanted to continue with his career.
563  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Inoue vs Tapales for Unified Super Bantamweight Title - December 26 on: December 26, 2023, 05:18:17 AM
I did not expect Tapales to weigh lower than Inoue but I guess he will rehydrate more than the Japanese. Both are in excellent condition so we have a fight. My head says Tapales won't finish the full 12 rounds but I am feeling confident that he is preparing for something new and awkward that will make Inoue think about being too aggressive. And Tapales hits harder than Fulton, maybe he can do damage on Inoue if he gets his timing right.

This is a great fight. Both fighters showed respect to each other. May the best man win.

Yes, but Inoue has seen a lot of southpaw already and crafty fighters like Fulton but they end the same, with a brutal knockout. So we don't know that Tapales is preparing and we do hope that it will be enough to offset the raging Inoue right now.

I think the money bet here could be in round range are others might see it.

And it will be a big surprised if Tapales can last in the championship rounds as Inoue might want to end the fight early with his power.
564  Economy / Speculation / Re: Historical price of Bitcoin on Christmas Day on: December 26, 2023, 05:03:45 AM
By 25th December 2024 am predict the price to be $100,000 USD.

Merry Christmas everyone. Cheers!
Merry Christmas to you too. I hope that you'll have that diamond words and will manifest that prediction into an actual thing. But with the cycle, 2025 is likely the bull run but if ever a lot of things change on this market then we may see that happen. Well, since January the market hasn't been doing well but here we go, ending this year with a blast. Let's count it on with the factors of halving and not yet counting the ETF since the ones that had made a huge noise aren't yet approved.

I think this is the keyword here, I'm also into manifestation lately and it works,  Grin

Going back to the price cycle, I think we know that we are over the bearish trend already, even though technically we should consider 2023 as bear market, but this is the last stretch of it and so next year will be a different cycle as we are in the block halving year.

So I'm into $100,000 by next year 2024, same with the OP.
565  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2023-2024 betting on: December 25, 2023, 01:59:38 PM
I'll go with the Bucks at -3.5 @1.93, I think they can cover this handicap and could be plenty to spare. I think Giannis will play very hard as he knows that many are going to tune in this fight this Christmas, so he will have to show something here.

Same with Boston over Lakers, I will go with -3.5 @1.94. Boston is just too strong for the Lakers as this point. Boston has been covering and even beat a good team with double digit except for the Warriors game wherein they have control of the game, but Curry put in a great number to force OT.
566  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: December 25, 2023, 01:44:38 PM
^^ Whoever organizes that "Day of Reckoning" event must be so rich, i mean that is like an All-Star event in basketball.

Yeah, Joshua's confidence is back with that TKO win, there are rumors that he will be fighting Filip Hrgovic next, must be a good one also and he is successful on that hurdle, "The Battle of Britain" should be next. I'm confident that Fury will be successful in unifying the belts against a smaller Usyk.

Bivol also have a fantastic performance, looking sharp as ever. Hope he will meet Canelo at 168 without that rehydration clause.

I think it's because of the big money flowing in boxing due to the Saudi's, who love to host this king of big boxing events and for sure they will be the hub now for big fights specially in the Heavyweight division.

Not sure about Bivol though, I think I would love to see him and Beterbiev in the ring next.

Seems that Canelo is not yet interested to a rematch, there were even news that Canelo's next will be the supposedly original of the Charlo twin.
567  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2023-2024 betting on: December 23, 2023, 12:08:41 AM
My experiment was not successful. I thought the Detroit Pistons could at least win that game against the weak undermanned Utah Jazz with most of their stars injured.
2 of 4.
Chicago Bulls won and covered the spreads without a problem and just like I thought they were energized from their previous wins.
New Orleans Pelicans also won their game against the undermanned Cleveland Cavaliers.
But, my last game which is for the Bucks didn't cover the spreads. They won but Orlando Magic did not make it easy for them.

Later 6 games.
Philadelphia 76ers - Toronto Raptors - Philadelphia 76ers (-6.5) @1.68 This is fine for me, I won't be greedy and take that -10.5 against the Raptors.

Brooklyn Nets - Denver Nuggets - Denver Nuggets (-2.5) @1.69 Recently, Denver Nuggets had been playing badly in their second-half games especially if they got the big lead in the first half. Carelessness.
I know it's easy for them to make a score using Jokic but while he is resting they cannot make any good plays.

Golden State Warriors - Washington Wizards - Golden State Warriors (-10.5) @1.69 Win as much as they can, especially against a weaker team. The Warriors defeated a strong Celtics and their confidence might still be there in this game. Plus, they have the homecourt advantage so winning this game is mandatory to build up the fans too.

I will put a bet on the Nuggets, and tail you in this one, but i think they can cover at least -4.5 @1.91, (greedy,  Grin).

Yes, I agree, playing at home Warriors mentality is very different, -9.5 for me at 1.72.

The Sixers and Raptors games are about to start, but I'm skipping on this one, although I think the Sixers will win definitely, it's just a matter on the big is the point spread.

Best of luck to everyone.
568  Economy / Speculation / Re: Btc dump to 39600 on: December 22, 2023, 02:12:10 PM
Now the price is back above 44k. The short-term correction made some people think that the price will continue to fall. But in just a few days the situation has changed again in a positive direction. Volatility in the market is a good thing. It may indicate that the trend will continue for the time being.

The price of Bitcoin is on the rise and has recently surpassed the $44,000 resistance level. BTC is currently in a strong uptrend and could potentially continue its upward movement beyond $45,000. I'm personally looking forward to the bullish momentum taking charge.

In case of any corrections, it's expected to contribute to sustaining the overall bullish momentum.

People are in good shape right now regarding on their speculation towards BTC and they really think that it could reach to the figures you said or maybe we can really see it break at $50k. I'm also or maybe the right word to say here is people look forward to see more from bitcoin since they are looking to see a huge bullrun event that has been waited for long time by majority of crypto holders.

Definitely everything looks great from out perspective, last year was very different though. But if we keep our heads high this year, we might be looking for a big profits already. Nevertheless, we will going to hold even if we reach $50k, we should be looking at the long term.

We can expect some correction since for sure there's no sustainable pump gonna happen and we can see bitcoin price fall, but what good thing there is maybe we can only see small correction then bitcoin price will continue to climb up.

Correction is one way to us to go and get into the market and enter at a cheap price. Others might not like to see the price going down, but for smart investors, it's a great opportunity again to accumulate and stack up sats.
569  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: New crypto stealer: Rhadamanthys Stealer malware on: December 22, 2023, 12:45:53 PM
I feel that this news and the names of viruses come from the developers of antivirus systems, as they work as an indirect promotion for these services. In the end, there are many names and, most importantly, access permissions. This virus cannot access the seeds, and the best thing it collects about you is your personal data for the purposes of social attacks or copies of your Clipboard.

there is nothing new here, and the advice is as it is: do not click on random links and do not download applications that have not been reviewed by thousands of developers.

It's not new but you have to think why are there so many malwares now that targeted crypto wallets? Because of the money involved, yes, do not click random links, but I'm sure many of us here still fall for that as sometimes we might experience that slip and that is the only way that this criminals can get to us.

And yes this malwares development are getting bolder and so for crypto enthusiast we really need to be very vigilant and careful. It's better to have separate everything so that in case of infection, or crypto wallets are not going to be compromise.
570  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Hard Rock to Hire 400 People Ahead of Rockford Casino Opening on: December 22, 2023, 11:52:20 AM
What do you think? Would you like to register?
If you enjoy gambling and don't have a steady employment, this is a good place for you. or perhaps you currently hold a job, but consider this Hard Rock opportunity.
I am giving this some thought, and all I can think of is if mostly gamblers will be employed due to the fact that the casino may like to protect non gamblers from becoming gamblers due to the environmental pressure of working in a place for gambling.

What is your take on my thoughts please, do you think that someone who does not gamble and then get employed to work in this casino will be affected and influenced to start gambling, even if not in this same casino but elsewhere?

Nah, everyone is open to apply, gamblers or non-gamblers, if you fit the job description then why not? but they could have prioritized those locals though so make their economy move at least.

And if I'm not mistaken, if you are hired, there could be rules that you can't play or seen in a casino, well that's how I understood it, like conflict or interest or something. Because I know someone who works on a casino and he doesn't want to go near any casino because he shouldn't be seen there.
571  Economy / Gambling / Re: Responsible gambling on: December 22, 2023, 11:00:11 AM
Here are two things to take note of before gambling
1.have a budget:it's very crucial to set a budget, decide how much money you are comfortable spending on gambling
Always stake what you can afford to lose. Have a limit and stick to it, doing it this way wouldn't put you under
Pressure and anxiety
2.Take breaks:This is a very important point..gambling can be very addicting especially when we start excepting a lot from it
From the first point I made I said you should always stake what you can afford to lose but it's important to
Take regular breaks especially when your losses are more than your wins.give yourself time to recover cause it's all about maintaining a healthy balance...I hope this helps someone out there

Yeah, we heard this kind of advise already and takes to the OP for the reminder. However, it's more to it, I mean having a limit is good but most of the times there are gamblers that are really out of control or even beginners because maybe they think that they can win or play more money to enjoy and have some fun.

It boils down to self control, as long as you can control yourself, specially in losing. Because that could be the start if you lose and then didn't take a break. So we need to take control and not let our emotions get the better of our selves and then becoming addicts because we didn't take a break or trying to recoup our losses.
572  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2023-2024 betting on: December 22, 2023, 10:42:07 AM
I'm not betting yet, I'll leave that up to you guy. Tell me, what game should we bet and on what team?
I'm on OKC -4.5 because the Clippers might not be in the best shape after playing yesterday against the Mavs, and a few key players like PG and Kawhi could be out.

The Timberwolves spread would've been a good grab because it opened around -6, but it already shifted to -9.5, making the Lakers spread look good.

I'm staying away from the clash of the worst teams, it's too unpredictable.  Wink

Too bad for my Sacramento bet against the Celtics, I thought that they can make a comeback and or least cover +7.5. But Boston is too much and it shows it's power against a great team in the West.

I just took the Bulls at -4.5 and I was right about that it's a good bet as the Bulls is riding high on a momentum win and beating the Spurs by almost 20 points.
There could be some games tomorrow night that might be "easier" to predict,

Sixers vs Raptors
Nets vs Nuggets
GSW vs Washington
573  Economy / Speculation / Re: Timely Halving Event and Bitcoin ETF a Positive Bombshell on: December 21, 2023, 11:38:08 AM
we have witnessed the movement of BTC from $24,000 to bout $36,000 which can be attributed to the Bitcoin ETF narrative.

I think we could ve completely wrong if all we could do is to assume every attempts on bitcoin bull market to be associated with bitcoin ETF, am not saying that it can't happen or be the cause, but not on every occassions that we have a pump in market has to be associated with the spot bitcoi ETF, the news as at that time took the price from $24,0000 to $34,000 and what more could be said on how we arrived at $37,000.

And maybe it's how the market works, last year, lowest low of $15,500 and then we have bounce back from this year. And so as pre-halving price, we might see close to $50k or even higher. And then we have this noise behind that could also be one of the factor why we are in the bull market market already.

Just imagine what it can really bring if the timely approval is right or before the actual halving, going to be a huge influx of institutional money and we could witness a big bull run in 2024-2025 and it could lead the price to a new all time high of 6 digits at least.
574  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin miners extorting people that are making transaction? on: December 21, 2023, 10:50:52 AM
If your friend going to blame anyone, most blame lies to people and group who create and facilitate BRC-20 transaction. If the developer were to make Ordinals (which used by BRC-20) non-standard or even invalid, they'll take major risk where they accused to censor Bitcoin and some people ignore update released by developers anyway.

Yeah, that's why I don't understand why the miners are to be blame here, sure they are raking millions as compare to the beginning of the year, but the problems is BRC-20 ordinals that is congesting the network that we think it's a deliberate attack on Bitcoin.

As if they are really trying to force Bitcoin to adapt or have fork or whatever devs might think to be able to ease the congestion that we are seeing right now.

Miners on the others are getting the profits, but we can't blame them as this is a big business and it just to happen that they are reaping the benefits from the BRC-20 spam.
575  Economy / Gambling / Re: Does anyone find the spate of online casinos a bit uninspired? on: December 21, 2023, 10:35:15 AM
A lot of them seem to be hastily assembled clone sites with very little effort put in and gimmicky marketing. Do you guys have any thoughts on this... plague?

There could be some gambling casinos that might have hastily built or just close other sites, but we all know that this will back fire on them so doesn't make sense to do that. I mean if they are into the business of casinos then they know that it's a billion dollar industy.

And why one to get that slice is to make a good site, UI and feel is good plus good casino operators and slot games and everything that you can really find in a good and top notch casinos. And if we gamblers find some clone sites, for sure our first impression and not to play on it, so again, as I have said, it will rebound adversely against them and instead of making money, they will lose customers.
576  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: December 21, 2023, 10:17:34 AM
Do you have any idea for new poll? Let me know so I can change it. For now I'm going to change it to first 30 wins.
It may change this time because Bucks and Timberwolves are going great as well.

Well, teams like the Celtics and 76ers also have a good chance in this poll.
How about creating a new poll on whether the Pistons can extend their losing streak and set a new NBA record? The Pistons have really stood out from other teams this regular season, and now the Pistons' players only need to lose 5 more games in a row to make NBA history. Grin

Depends on @ingiltere, but the last update was the team that can make the 30 wins. And I think it's a better poll as compare to the losing streak of the Pistons, it could be historic, but I don't think that anyone is going to watch them continue their losing streak.

As for the team first team that is getting 30 wins, still the Celtics on top my head. They are playing solid, except for that minor hiccup against the Golden State.
577  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2023-2024 betting on: December 21, 2023, 04:29:11 AM
A lot of surprised results in this games. I was trapped by the Celtics vs Warriors. Although Warriors is good at home, but they are facing the best team in the league and I thought that the Celtics are are going to cover the -4.5 to -5.5 spread.

But Curry delivered and then they forced the overtime game. And we haven't seen Curry really feeling the game. Even CP3 was happy seeing Curry burying that 3 against White.

It was suppose to be an easy win by the Celtics since Curry was into foul trouble, but it didn't happen because Curry's teammates ae playing hard, especially CP3 who find an open Curry and that 3 point shot from Curry gave them a good lead. CP3 aren't shooting well, he only had 4 points from 12 attempts but his assist department is very impressive as he finished the game with 12 assists. That number really says something about its effect on the team, without that number the Warriors would fall to the Celtics easily.

How about their rookie Trayce Jackson-Davis, he did a good job as well, and he has that one critical block in the game.

I'm taking +7.5 for the Kings against the Boston Celtics live betting at 1.90. They are down double digits from the Celtics, but I think they will make a huge comeback in the last 2 quarters. Or at least make it close and enough for that handicap to be covered by them.
578  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Teofimo Lopez Vs. Jamaine Ortiz WBO Welterweight Title February 8 on: December 20, 2023, 09:18:21 PM
This is a very risky fight for Teofimo Lopez, Ortiz gave Lomachenko a tough fight when they fought and He's going to give Lopez a much tougher fight, Ortiz is a guy who doesn't back up and has powers on both hands and can deliver lethal body shots, we all know Lopez

Teofimo definitely knows what he is doing.

you say Ortiz is a tough opponent of Lopez but the former losses to Loma via Unanimous decision, I didn't see the struggle there from Loma. Remember that Teo beat Loma, so I think Teo here is the one who should dictate this fight.

I'm not sure if there's an official betting odds yet for this fight, but according to https://www.oddschecker.com/boxing/teofimo-lopez-v-jamaine-ortiz/winner

Teo is a heavy favorite with -500 odds.

Ortiz though lost against Lomaa still is a high risk against Lopez. He wouldn't be matched with Loma if he hadn't got what it takes but this fight has low rewards for Teo.
Ortiz made a good performance with Loma, he isn't such a weak fighter. But it would have been better if Teo took Matias unification. This isn't even mandatory for Teo.

This is still a good fight to watch. Teo is someone to watch out as this is the peak of his career.

Ortiz was matched against Loma not because he is a tougher opponent for him, he was match because they know that Loma can beat him. So the same case here with Top Rank picking up a fighter that has been beaten to be a get busy fight for Lopez.

We thought that Lopez wanted to fight Matias for the IBF belt, but that is a big risk for his team.

And so they settled against someone that Loma has beaten already. Very careful match making in the part of Top Rank and not risking their 140 lbs champion.
579  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is Michael Jordan a gambling addict ? on: December 20, 2023, 08:55:04 PM
I think it's more of Michael Jordan being competitive in nature that's why he always on someone, specially in golf. And there are a lot of stories that he either lost of win on that bet. Again this is his way of getting ahead of somewhat, or at least in psychological tactic or warfare.

And him being a basketball player, the desire to always win is his in mind that's why he uses this somewhat of a betting as his way to get into someone's mind and then win.

As for this gambling in casinos, well he has all the money, he can definitely play whenever or whatever he wants.
