561  Economy / Speculation / Re: End of Silk Road is good for the long run on: October 02, 2013, 07:22:10 PM
I think a possible positive effect for Bitcoin will not stem from a sudden change in perception as a "more legal" currency but more from its ability to absorb the SR takedown. This will show its strength as a widespread multi-purpose currency.

Excellent remark, I hadn't considered that aspect.
562  Economy / Speculation / Re: End of Silk Road is good for the long run on: October 02, 2013, 06:38:27 PM
Does the fed really now own 3.6 million BTC? That's around 30% of all current bitcoins.

This worries me a lot.
$3.6 Million WORTH of btc NOT 3.6 million BTC

Yep!

There have been reports that, in the arrest of Ulbricht, 26,000 bitcoins were seized, which equated to around $3.26m at the close of yesterday, but $2.47m at the time of writing.

563  Economy / Speculation / Re: what will the price be of bitcoins in one week after take over of SR on: October 02, 2013, 06:29:24 PM
It's restoring fast.
564  Economy / Speculation / Re: End of Silk Road is good for the long run on: October 02, 2013, 06:24:42 PM
I think the same too. Its closing is a good thing for the bitcoin ecosystem.

Furthermore, the long run could be shorter than what we currently think.
565  Economy / Speculation / Re: what will the price be of bitcoins in one week after take over of SR on: October 02, 2013, 06:12:21 PM
I think it will recover fast enougth to yesterday levels, maybe just something less.

Thank you for your reply.
I was asking mostly to know if Advanced Mining Technology (AMT_miners) is trustworthy or not.

Our design team for this product line is Technobit, we've flown over here to eastern europe, stayed for the last few weeks, and worked with them on this model. You all already know Technobit pretty well.
So what he said here, about working with you, is true?

EDIT:
I see you answered on the other thread too,
thanks for your confirmation.  Smiley

And OP, please dont edit/delete your OP as other people might have had the same question.

Well said. Now this thread is useless.

Usually nobody check what seems obvious,
but let's see:

Sorry if I didn't read the whole thread, but could you please confirm (or deny) the following quote by AMT_miners?

The boards have 16 chips each, similar to the Avalon boards but built for bitfurry. The design is brand new and already complete. Final testing is being done today/tomorrow. Hopefully by Friday I'll have a video for you all showing the boards/chips/hash etc.

572  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Poll] Burnins BitFury miner on: October 02, 2013, 02:36:06 AM
Looks like Burnin went to "the dark side".  Please do not fund Cryptx hashing farm with this Bitfury burner price scam.
Just ask for a refund.  The product is not worth the price, you will not even break even with this price - ROI
- forget about it.  So do  yourself a favor and let them use their  own many to fund their hashing farm.

Why do all these projects seem to go pear shaped?  One minute you have something that looks like it might make ROI @470EUR then the next minute a 48% price rise to 699EUR which has no chance.

Buyers have a power that should be used better.
573  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Black Arrow announces 28nm 100Ghash Bitcoin ASIC from $1.49/Ghash on: October 02, 2013, 01:49:03 AM
You mentioned in a previous post that you may partner with resellers/distributors based in Europe (I believe one was based in the UK). How far did you guys get with that? Will we be able to put preorders in directly with them for Feb14 delivery so to use local currencies and avoid customs fees which will lower the preorder price a great deal?

I also would ask you if an EU based distributor is planned.

It's not only a VAT or customs fees problem, but the fact that your hardware could be blocked in customs for weeks...  Shocked

I disagree, it is only a half sarcastic thread. The title is misleading...

No, worst case it is a Standard-Sarcastic Thread.
577  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Don't buy any miner on: September 30, 2013, 08:13:17 AM
Just to confirm that also my calculations agree with the OP.

At the moment the only wise thing is IMO to wait.
ASICs prices will drop fast in the next months, leaving to miners a chance to reach break even and maybe pass it (improbable at today's prices).
