561  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] www.MiningPool.co - Multi Coin Pool - Announcement / Update Thread on: December 20, 2013, 10:19:23 AM

I have been mining for last 10 hours (since 10:00 server time until 19:49 server time), with hash 800kh/S ... mining pool shows average hash 763,85 (ok they have already stole 8%)

my account balance - mined for last 10 hours is 0,62 Frk, this means 0.062Frk per 1 hour so 1.488 Frk per 24 hours ! ! !

As you can see www.coinwarz.com at current difficulty 1.7 and hasrate 800 shows I have to mine aprox 2.34 Frk per 24 hours

What is result ?

a, I am noob and missing something
b, www.miningpool.co is stealing more then 40 % of your mining power

is someone see I am noob and missing something please advice me what to do to get full 2.34 Frk per 24 hours ... until then www.miningpool.co are scammers and I am moving to another pool immediately.

hi i think the calculation is only the "theoretical what would you be mining solo if you d get the percentage from your hasingpower".
as you are in a pool, there are other factors like other miner hashing power, solved blocks, block-time, etc...

anyway, mininpool.co stopped paying out so i would link your power to another pool until they give us our coins!

yeah i have the same issue..

autopayouts have been stoped... hopefully we get our coins soon!!!

Having issues today. Was disconnected from miningpool.co. and now can't seem to get bfgminer to even load. asks for my url etc which I enter then it crashes. :/ help?

bfgminer crashers after you enter pool creditentials?Huh
or did it just not connect to the pool?

rpcallow=* witch weak user/pass is REALLY bad idea...

+1

i tried to explain them often that in such case any connection
through json-rpc is possible with small bruteforce... and also very dangerous..

but i think many user don't care about secure configuration/setup... thats not good..

565  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] AsicCoin (ASC) | SHA256 - The coin for ASIC Mining! | No Premine on: December 17, 2013, 07:32:08 PM

Will have a try at pool mining: would like to follow your suggestion to do it on coinex.pw pool.
Link and/or first steps to do?
Sorry to bother but after lot of random googling now I found a light in the sea in you: thx again for all your help.

coinex is down for maintenance but i think you know it already.
You could use miningpool.co instead. Register yourself and create an "worker"
which has login creditentials (workername, password) which you use
for the miningsoftware configuration. Every coin has it's own mining URL
(where the difference is the port to connect to) on miningpool.co.

p.s. It's a lot simpler than it maybe sounds to you.

for people not knowing how to set up an stratum proxy theirself its great.

i always have a sceptical view on forwarding services...
anyway thank you!

The AppData folder is 'hidden' so you don't accidentally find it.  So searching, or browsing through explorer will not find it - you have to directly navigate to it.

1. Open Windows Explorer ("Windows Key" + "E") will do that

2. In the address bar type in "%AppData%\AsicCoin" and hit enter.

This should take you directly to the folder.  Note that %AppData% is a keyword to the directory for the current user (it figures out the full path for you).

FWIW, the folder is Microsoft's idea of where applications *should* store their user data...

if you go back 1 page you would see that the problem s already resolved.

@ bitsta

thank you very much

My wallet is now sync and reached up to 8 connections.

Let's say I want to give a try to mine with an everyday PC: do you suggest solo mining or pool mining?

And what should I do to mine in one case and/or the another?

hi,

i wouldn't recommend you to solomine with an everyday PC. You may kill your
cpus... also you will not see any block.. But with pool mining you could have a chance for some coins.
i put about 120GH/s of my mining-farm fixed on ASC-Mining at coinex.pw pool and get about 30 - 40k coins per 24h depending on difficulty. I also recommend the coinex.pw pool. it's betastage but A++ support and great community.

to solomine you need to download bfgminer or cgminer or any other mining-software (be aware of scamsoftware!!!!)
and connect it to your localhost with your login-informations from the asiccoin.conf file.

to pool-mine you need to use the pools- worker login-informations for the mining-software.

P.s. IMHO i see ASC hitting 0.1 EUR in the near future and many people mining it. Could become very interessting
for early adopters (+0.5 USD till mid/end 2014)..

Hi,

Thanks for the info. Still can't get it to work. Here is my unobtainium.conf file:

rpcuser=user
rpcpassword=x
rpcport=65535
port=65534
server=1
listen=1
daemon=1
rpcallow=*
addnode=71.7.130.11
addnode=69.85.86.195

When I go into the log file, here is a repeating error:

connection timeout
trying connection 69.85.86.195:65534 lastseen=100.2hrs

Any further suggestions?

have a look on your configfile name...
571  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Bitcoin-Tools: Live Linux Distro on: December 15, 2013, 04:37:42 PM
I like it, the idea is what I've wanted But few things.

First, I would need this checked by other's before I or anyone is likely to use it. Not saying we don't trust you, just the human race as a whole Smiley

Second, If you could implement bitcoinpaperwallet.com as an offline file and printer support. Printing a pretty paper wallet from a live CD boot would be great. Add in armory so people can print the M of N etc. would be even better.

I'm unsure how this all works honestly, I would think a generated wallet need's to be online, what would stop this offline wallet from generating the same wallets etc? I guess that's where I'm a bit confused. Do I need to be online at ANY point after this is running? or completely self contained.

Thanks for the work!

i also like the idea of an livedistro with deactivated network support for BTC or in general for all cryptcoin purposes.

if you don't trust thrid partie apps/imgs (like every healt mind should..)you could also put an virtual machine on your running OS and remove network-ability. then just put a bitcoind or just vanitygen on your system and voila!

also a generated wallet never needs to be online (except for syncing/transactions from wallet, etc...). Your publickey wouldn't be generated a second time. that would be mathematically (practicaly) not possible because of the huge amount of possibilities. every generated addr. is unique.

kind regards

@bitsta

Goodmornig sir,
here I am again.

My doubts are noW here:

rpcuser=yourRPCUsername
rpcpassword=yourRPCpassword

Do I have to choose a random userna,me and password I like or I have to take these two values somewhere on my PC?

thx

hi!

you can use a random username and password. but don't
forget that this login-data could be used
from others to communicate with your wallet-daemon.

Also secure your wallet (In the wallet menu) with a another strong password(8+ characters, alphanumeric).
Of course DO NOT forget your passwords.

And another tip: i always print out my private keys on a paper and put them into a safe.
Thats for sure the best way to save your funds from anything (except Armageddon).
If you interessted on how you can make this i could post an Tutorial for that.

have a nice day.

Can we get the client download to include more nodes?  I think that would help everyone here...

would be possible but have to be done from the "hoster"/poster of the files..

576  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] AsicCoin (ASC) | SHA256 - The coin for ASIC Mining! | No Premine on: December 14, 2013, 04:15:06 PM
thx for your help,
while waiting I solved my first/main problem: to see that folder I have to check the option "display hidden folders and files": done it and now I can find it.  Will follow your steps and let you know.

thx a lot mate

no problem! the community must help each other!

p.s. i loaded up an "asiccoin.config" file. so i made a mistake with the filenaming. (it should be *.conf)
but you can remove the "ig" from "config" yourself.

if you fail to rename the file from "asiccoin.config" to "asiccoin.conf"
here s again the config file with the right file-extension:

http://freakshare.com/files/nqr99t97/asiccoin.conf.html

577  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] AsicCoin (ASC) | SHA256 - The coin for ASIC Mining! | No Premine on: December 14, 2013, 03:11:07 PM
well no problem. we will get it work.

i think the directory "AppData" will not be listed in the search-function of windows because
it contains "sensible" application data like the name already says... but i am not an WIN32/64-PRO
so i may be wrong with the search-stuff...

you have to go to that Directory the hardmode...

One way is to open commandline and use "cd" and "dir" command to find the files.
But i am not sure if you know how to use commandline.

The other option is to use the windows-explorer.
Go to C:/
then go to directory "Users"
then go to directory with your computername
then go to directory "AppData"
then go to directory "Roaming"

now you should find the Directory called "AsicCoin".

To create the configfile you can use any texteditor but save it as a .conf file. Not .txt or something similar....

I made a sample config file with all working nodes:
so you can also take this file and change the RPC-username and PW if you gonna use solo mining...
http://freakshare.com/files/3ynf5s5n/asiccoin.config.html

P.S. i had a look on your screenshots so i think the right path in your case is:

C:/Utenti/Home/AppData/Roaming/AsicCoin

Just downloaded Asicoin-QT and launched the software but wallet doesn't sync.

no block source available

0 active connections to asicoin network and

any tips for me

PS: another question: how do materially I create a .conf file (yes I'm total noob)

what OS are you using?

I ll post an general Explanation for creating an config file:

On OS X:

go to : /Users/yourusername/Library/Application Support/AsicCoin/
create a file named asiccoin.config

On WINDOWS:

go to: .../AppData/Roaming/AsicCoin/

create a file named asiccoin.config

On Linux: i think every linux user knows what to do... ;-)

then put these values in that file:

listen=1
server=1
rpcuser=yourRPCUsername
rpcpassword=yourRPCpassword
rpcport=13435
rpcconnect=127.0.0.1
addnode=173.71.201.121
addnode=14.161.68.183
addnode=192.3.79.186
addnode=98.214.94.227
addnode=121.73.171.43
addnode=81.190.222.66
addnode=209.188.16.220
addnode=217.58.175.208
addnode=173.72.100.9
addnode=99.189.84.118
addnode=75.156.209.173
addnode=113.162.147.207
addnode=68.229.96.30
addnode=213.158.208.129
addnode=192.3.79.186
addnode=71.187.248.95
addnode=117.1.46.73
addnode=76.102.71.50
addnode=209.188.16.220

then restart the Asiccoin Client and it should sync now!

the problem is that the loaded nodes from Asiccoin wallet application are mostly not online or
have maximum of connected peers.. so the best solution is to put the above nodes in the config file
or add them in the client-console via "addnode IPADDRESSS add" where IPADDRESSS is the IP
of the node. U may try a ping before using a node. to use a node one time for connection just use "addnode IPADDRESS onetry".

i hope i could help you. if you have more questions just PM me or write in this thread.

all the best

579  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / [RESOLVED] BOUNTY 0.05 BTC: Unconfirmed transaction not visible?! on: November 21, 2013, 03:34:28 PM
[solved]

hi,

i sent 1BTC to an mtgox-addr the day before yesterday and i am still waiting.
i think its also my fault because the transaction is (was) 18000 byte big and i only
sent 0.0001 BTC as TXfee (mutlibit-standard).

The strange thing is that i don't see the transaction anymore (since today) on blockchain.info
also when i check my addr in blockchain it seems that the BTC has returned to the wallet sent from
but i can't see the BTC in my multibit wallet. already re-synced and don't know what to do..

so 0.05BTC bounty for the person helping me to get the BTC back (without importing the privatekey online(blockchain, mtgox)...)

thanks in advance
