A shot of the new miner in the works from Wolf0.

Before you ask, I am a tester.

What gpu's are you running? 280X's?

tried that the same thing still happened

Did it import the blockchain from bootstrap.dat? It has fixed 2 other peoples issues that were having issues.
Could you also try those processes again but move your wallet.dat to another folder until it has synced and then move it back?

Sorry for all the steps, we are trying to narrow down the issue.

Ok I did what you listed the first time but it worked this time when i removed the wallet.dat this time and it is up and running and syncd up

No fixes for me.

I try and install the wallet on different computers and it loads to a certain point and crashes. Reload and I get the Runtime error.

The wallet should be a top priority to fix.

Did you try this method?

same thing on a different computer about 80 percent done syncing

We are still working on a fix, but in the mean time if you follow these steps you should be able to sync:
  • 1. Delete all the files in %appdata%\ZirkCoin apart from your wallet.dat
  • 2. Restart Computer
  • 3. Download bootstrap.dat
  • 4. Put bootstrap.dat in %appdata%\ZirkCoin

Then try and open, and it should automatically sync to block 5380~

Yes.

I even tried to create the zirk folder in the app data and install the bootstrap before opening the wallet on a third computer so it was a fresh run.

The wallet gets to a certain point on all three computers and crashes/closes before it even syncs.

EDIT: I didn't have much coins but they where being sent automatically to my wallet and now I hope they are not lost.

See the original post by john-connor: http://vanillacoin.net/forums/viewtopic.php?id=586

Thank you John, this is awesome!

Hope all is fixed in this version.

Updated and again missing 200 coins. I don't have a lot to begin with as I am mining on and off to see when the bugs are taken care of.

Use checkwallet/getinfo to be sure if coins are wrongly allocated. You may be missing only coins which were never there in the first place, if you are still not sure, do a backup and use "repairwallet". Everything should be in place after it.

The new update fixed every visual glitch the wallet had so you won't get coins accounted again which don't belong there.

Ok thanks.

Tried the repairwallet and it took like 1 second. Don't think it really did anything as most wallet take a lot longer.

I'll just take it as what is there should be what I have.

I have 1 of 3 wallets getting the MN payments.

On the 2 that are not I have checked to make sure my ip matches what is in the config and it does. I have stopped the MN and left the wallets closed for over 24 hours and still not working.

I had no issues until the change over to E-Pay. Any ideas?

570  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BITCREDIT | MASTERNODE TESTING | NEW RC 03/16 on: March 18, 2015, 08:14:42 PM
Nice!  Great seeing the project finally getting some attention.

On the topic of getting this on coinmarketcap, I think the point is less about knowing the market cap at a glance, and more about coinmarketcap being a great way to bring attention to the coin.  Coinmarketcap gets a lot of views, and especially on days where the price rises a lot or it gets a good deal of volume, people who may not have heard of the coin will look into it.  Fantastic source of free advertising for the project.  Anyone can submit a request to get the coin added.  I was about to do it but then realized coinmarketcap does want to have a logo for the coin.  I realize you have been focusing on bigger fish, but even just something temporary that may not be perfect would be enough to get it on coinmarketcap.  Can always change the logo down the road.

Also, I've been doing some math here.  I believe the original specification called for block halving every 210000 blocks?  So that would be around 145 days.  What is the final base value for block rewards?  Do a few quick calculations and it becomes clear it won't take too long before coins are trickling out and the total supply won't hit 210 million BCR for decades.  Actually if the block reward continually halves it will never hit 210 million BCR, it wouldn't come remotely close.  I'm just trying to get a picture of the long term economics at play.  As it stands now it is going to be difficult to get more than a few dozen bank nodes up and running at 250k BCR per node, and after a few years of halving every 210000 blocks, it will be virtually impossible for anyone to obtain enough BCR to start a new bank node.
How to minimize this stupid f.... wallet? I can hide wallet but is no options that wallet can be minimized and big fat dark wallet staying at my screen Using option from wallet I can hide ,but to get back I can't find  nowhere .Have to go to task manager  end the process  and turn again from icon ..I hate this f...wallet .Trying to  mine some coins using wallet  and cpu but after  all night got zero coins  .Using  I 4790 K processor  Angry Angry Angry Angry Angry Angry Angry Angry Angry Angry Angry Angry Angry Angry Angry Angry Angry Angry Angry Angry Angry Angry Angry >: Almost kick and punch monitor because  this  ugly dark smuck wallet(.This is worst coins wallet I ever have.

I'd be surprised if the dev even bothers to respond.

How about the button that says "show/hide"  Grin

Sure you have to hover on it to read it but it's been there forever.

Is there a way to manually add coins to a created wallet or is it not implemented yet?

I just ran ip config to make sure my ip is correct and matches what is in my config. My ip shows up in the list but I have not received any payments now for 2 days.

Should the config be named epay or ePay?
573  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] SpreadCoin | True Decentralization (No Pools) | Testing New Masternodes on: March 17, 2015, 02:34:26 AM
FWIW Dept:

Bitcredit has a masternode implementation on test:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=896133.msg10781381#msg10781381

In this implementation they would appear to be termed “bank nodes” and this description hints at functionality:

“Your node earns you between 1000 and 2000 BCR a week for processing tx, escrow and acting as insurer of large transactions.”

Bitcredit github source for code mavens.

Cheers

Graham

Thanks for this head's up! Amazed at how many here seemed to miss your post completely.
I just read through all 34 pages of that ANN and the dev there seems legit and quite skilled...almost Mr. Spread-like. Definitely worth watching the masternode implementation (March 31 I think).
JL

He actually has some pretty good ideas he is implementing besides the MN.

Will wait a little longer before making judgement on this exchange.

575  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN]NXE - Innovative Ideas [SWAP Complete] on: March 15, 2015, 06:05:22 PM
Agreed my friend, I was wrong in my questioning of the pre-mine being used by dev according to everyone here Smiley
This doesn't mean we know how much dev has though  Wink Public ledger is the only way to verify the swap was completed honestly.

I apologize to anyone that was offended with my inquisition. It seems it will be impossible to get an accurate veracity of this situation as the questions turn into circles and attacks. I am purely here with no bias, only inquisition, and so far, many many red flags.

Good luck,
Viz.

And I concur with you second points also.

No hard feelings.
576  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN]NXE - Innovative Ideas [SWAP Complete] on: March 15, 2015, 05:29:06 PM
Well this is my conclusion of this Coin:

+ Dev spent a week on this coin. Nothing special. No innovation. Claimed innovation.
+ No transparency. Dev can't fully answer my questions.
+ Dev avoids my questions and tries to side track conversation.
+ Dev tries to "bribe" me with "Oh we can use this for Coin Shield". Big red flag.
+ Thread turns to personal attacks, very unprofessional.

And crush, you are right that I was wrong about the pre-mine, this is why I came to discuss it with the Dev. Dev semi clarified it, but you all are choosing to trust him that he isn't holding it himself. I would recommend transparency for all swapped coins to be sure, but I will not argue with the community. It isn't very hard to flush 500k coins through a 2.2M coin swap, which means the public can still claim they got their swap, but we can't know for sure that the dev isn't holding some skim.

Thank You to everyone that was respectful, this made this favour I've been doing for Starblocks much more pleasant. Don't forget I was invited here to do a review, and clarify with the developer. I do not jump on threads and make my own personal reviews. I dislike the process of review very much, especially when dealing with users who know nothing more than personal attack as their mode of communication.

My opinion: I wouldn't invest,
Viz.

P.S. Crush if you want to direct questions at me, go for it [for whatever your intention]. I've been clarifying details in the system since June 2014. I don't ask anything I couldn't answer completely myself. If you decide to do this for whatever your reason, please do it on our forum so you don't clutter this thread anymore with off topic talk about Coin Shield.

This whole thing could have been avoided if you just PM'd him first. If he never answered then it would have been in a good interest for the community to bring your thoughts to light.

But you did jump to conclusions about the "premine" of the first block when it was in the OP.

Regardless of who asked you to come here you could have done it in a more professional way.

As I said in your thread, I do hold and mine your coins also.
577  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN]NXE - Innovative Ideas [SWAP Complete] on: March 15, 2015, 12:39:03 PM
Well my friend, I'd say it's too early to define the success of that which has not yet reached it's fruition; nor do you have any remote idea as to what this system encapsulates if you compare it to proof of developer.

You're really only insulting your own intelligence here  Smiley
Viz.

Not your friend and that's an inadequate excuse. Take a look at your own coin and tell me how it's different from any other shitcoin that is promising features it doesn't deliver?

It's not.  Plain and simple.  Just another troll shilling his coin in other threads...

I invited Viz over here to analyse the project from a development perspective

The reasons so far I've liked this project is the Devs have listened to ideas from the community and are responsive

So far I'm basing my support on that - a project that shows some promise so far

Viz is just here to checkout the development side and ask questions relating to that and as a way of building more trust through transparency

And the first thing he did was misunderstand why there's a 2.2 mill reward for the first block.

I am not opposed to an independent code review. But for one, make it private until you get your facts straight. And second, the questions he's asking could be directed at any coin, even his own.

I like his work on CSD, doesn't mean I come over there and tell him how his concept will never ever work from an economical point of view just because I think I know better.

Agree.

I have CSD also.

Viz has his own things he needs to worry about other than here.

And starblock, if you have questions maybe you should pm the dev here first then research from there. If yo really want to know you should learn to look things up for yourself and not take every one's word for it.

Hardfork with new wallet features and POS changes, please update now and read the news section for information regarding the changes

In case you didn't get the fresh wallet from vanillacoin.net downloads try deleting cache or private browsing.

Is the disappearing coins fixed?

I updated and now I have less coins than before, lost all my staked coins. Or is this my true total?

Yes you are correct, I have been verifying this with the developer so I can understand fully the nature of this pre-mine and components of the development of this coin: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=977489

Thank You,
Viz.

I just seen that you responded there.

Thanks
580  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Coinshield (CSD) - Pure SHA3, Decentralized Checkpoints, CPU/GPU + PoS on: March 15, 2015, 01:54:08 AM
10% Premine Advertised: Hard Fork at block 200, means they have untested mistakes.

nSubsidy = 2200000 * COIN; // DCX SWAP

This is their real premine, looks shady as hell to me if they are advertising 200k but hard forked it to 2.2M for their own stash.

Their variable "1 Year interest rate decrease"
Is terrible, not a true system as advertised, they are basing it off chain height which means:
Staking interest rates will only be allowed to fees if the block height is above their "reduced interest rate" height.
This means that it is not an accurate figure as advertised.

Still using Peercoin's Difficulty retarget: Terrible algorithm.

I could keep going on and on, but big Red Flag is:
Lieing about their premine.

https://github.com/NXEProtocol/Core/blob/master/src/main.cpp#L972

There it is, block #1, 2.2M Coins.

Thank You,
Viz.

You know I like this coin, Coin Shield, but I also have some NXE.

It says right in the post that there is a 2 million NXE Coin swap and a 200k pre mine. Hence the 2.2 million first block. They had to get NXE from some where to trade give the old coin holders a 1 for 1 coin to the new one. And yes I got exactly to the last sat of the NXE for the old coin I sent.

On the other issues you point out well that is a different story but don't go saying about a hidden premine when the info is posted right in the OP. And yes the 2.2 million did match the first block.
