561  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: June 13, 2024, 08:11:56 PM
Both Real Madrid and Chelsea were trying hard to hire Pedro Lima the young Brazilian player for the next season.
Since he is a 17-year-old player, he can be a good investment for the team he joins there and he can play there for years and become a superstar player because of the experience he has. While considering the power of Real Madrid I was expecting to see Real Madrid hire this player but this time it seems Chelsea won the race and they are very close to signing the contract with this player.
I'm not sure what Real Madrid expects from this player. Pedro Lima is a very young right-back to be expected to replace Carvajal, so I don't think Real Madrid will take this rumor as reality. So far Real Madrid is more likely to buy quality players than to recruit new stars in their team, of course they don't need more young players because good financial strength can help them find other quality players.

Pedro Lima is only 17 years old and he plays for Sport Recife in Brazil's Serie B. Of course he is looked at by scouts, but I don't think Real Madrid really need this player. If something is needed, then it is very possible for Real Madrid to bring in a quality right-back who can replace the aging Carvajal.
If we consider the age of the Spanish right-winger Lamine Yamal who is about 16 years of age and playing good football at Barcelona then,  Pedro Lima 17 can play much better too playing for Real Madrid as a young player. I think that for Real Madrid to go after him then they must have seen some potential in the young star for the future and he can stay at Madrid and gradually get that experience to play the madrista kinda of football. Real Madrid doesn't go for mediocre

But when it comes to Chelsea, of course this is a potential business for TOD, he will buy more players again maybe for this season, we know that his habit is always to collect a lot of players and resell them or even kill someone's career because they don't get playing time and most of the substitutes in his cage.
It's a no, no, no for me Chelsea is not a good destination for the young lad considering his age and with lots of young players in the Chelsea team it makes my preference for real madrid more stronger because he needs to be in a team where he will eat in no time that needed experience he may be lacking due to his age and Madrid is just right for him with those sets of players.
562  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ UEFA Euro 2024 in Germany ⚽ - Qualifiers👉Group Stage on: June 13, 2024, 07:45:49 PM
Germany is notably a better team here to bet on than Scotland, but Scotland on their side isn't a team to let down too, as it has been a long time since both teams met, but despite the majority of people taking side on Germany to win, I don't think it will change the fact that they're in a better position to win this game because Germany has a good record over their opponent team Scotland and which they've met 17 times, where we have Germany won 8 out the 17 game, whereas Scotland is Four, so it is obvious that the Germany side got a good record against Scotland.
In that opening game on Friday evening between Germany vs Scotland it is conspicuous that everything points to the favor of Germany even if we have to remove the fact that they are the host country in this tournament. The Germany team regardless of their performances in the friendlies especially in their last game with Greece , they are better fit and in higher form than their opponent Scotland who have injury players at the moment with their midfielder Stuart Armstrong just returning from injury recently to join in training and have not played an active match since April. A lot of factors to consider here and not that am underrating Scotland in that game.

563  Local / Politics and society (Naija) / Re: OPay's Gambling Promotion is Enabling Gambling Addiction on: June 13, 2024, 08:16:07 AM
Maybe I should remind you that Opay unlike the other commercial banks do have varieties of services you can use their platform for and one of such clearly indicated there is Betting , for funding of your fiat online gambling account, particularly for those that are gamblers and the process is seamless. Now, you don't find such option in commercial banks mobile apps which is why it shouldn't be surprising  seeing gambling ads been advertised in Opay platform. Am sure if commercial banks were allowed to have a space for betting service like the Fintechs they would have also had those gambling advert ads popping up too in their platform.

Apart from gambling ads, there are other useful adverts concerning investments and reward quiz  ads that also pops up in their platform, so it's just a function of the user's mindset on what they really want, you still ignore those gambling ads and go for the others that are useful to your person. These Fintechs offers a fast transaction service different from our usual commercial banks and you can't just delete the app because of one gambling ads. Like they say, "you don't throw the dirty water  away with the baby".
564  Economy / Speculation / Re: Some bad uses of bitcoin. :'( on: June 12, 2024, 08:04:38 PM
But in any case, I hope that slowly Bitcoin will be able to gain legality in all countries.
What are you hoping for?  After you have concluded that all manner of illegal business transactions including terrorism financial support are been undertaken through bitcoin network. This is not the first time am reading about people accusing bitcoin to be a currency that aid and abate illegalities due to its decentralized system and anonymity while they refuse to emphasize about the blockchain that is an open ledger for the public view whereas is not found with fiat transactions that corrupt banks managers starch, conceal, clean any trace. It should suffice you to know that fiat has the highest tone of money laundry cases and illegal business transactions to which bitcoin don't even come close.

A lot of countries that are against bitcoin, the reason isn't because of anything order than their inability to have a central control over the currency as they do with fiat.
565  Other / Off-topic / Re: The real winning of gambling is withdrawals on: June 12, 2024, 05:24:28 PM
Whenever I win, I usually feel this strong urge to gamble more and also increase the amount I'm using to gamble. I do fall for this urge most times and the result is always disastrous as I end up losing the money I won with great pain and regrets. The only time I can say I have won is when I make withdrawals and possibly use the money for something else. As long as the money is still in the platform, there is a high chance of using it to gamble more. I decided to create this topic to see how other people manage their winning in gambling. If I notice a better approach, I will switch immediately as I don't want to continue experiencing the pain of winning and later losing the money again.
If this is what your gambling experience has been with most of your wins it therefore mean you are not enjoying a healthy gambling lifestyle. I won't abruptly call it an addiction but it's just some lack of gambling discipline at a surface level.

We understand that when those wins come in we get that adrenaline to want to try more bet believing it win get us another more win, and that's how the loss stem forth.  Maybe what you need doing to save yourself from an instant use of your win is to make part withdrawal and leave just the limit you commonly use to gamble.  Or,

Another mistake that leads to this attitude of gambling more after having some win is when we give a target towards what amount we looking forward to win before withdrawing. If you've been such a gambler then eliminate that attitude and be the gambler is keen to accept any amount gotten from gambling. We can only set target for businesses and not in gamble.
566  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How to resolve gambling related wallet issues on: June 12, 2024, 02:24:01 PM
Finding ways to resolve such issues would be a very difficult one for the customer because in this case you are not dealing with just one company or related company but two entirely different company and we all know how these online support system works with all that annoying delays and with repeated programmed response support system.

In the case of this nature and being that I haven't had such experience, I think common will demand the customer to write a report to both companies and if the gambling site could send a message to the exchange maybe they will honor it much swiftly than you the customer alone. But just like Oshosondy said, if it's an exchange whose ToS prohibits such deposit then you just have to painfully forget about it.

The only exchange that I knew that was doing that is Coinbase. There may be more exchanges that do that but I do not know them. I have used over 10 exchanges and non of them are against gambling.

What I can say is that you should read the ToS of every gambling site you want to open an account with. If the gambling site will not receive coins from gambling sites, it would be stated on the exchange ToS.

Is Coinbase still doing that?
Hello @Oshosondy please check your second statement to correct an error there... I guess you had meant to say exchanges and not gambling sites. Grin
567  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Trading or gambling? on: June 12, 2024, 09:28:55 AM
Trading or gambling?

This is a very relevant topic that I have long wanted to discuss with users. Let's compare trading and gambling in all respects. I believe that it is more difficult to win at gambling than at trading or investing. Perhaps you think differently? Then explain why. By gambling I mean primarily those games in which not only luck is important. That is, we will not consider roulette, dice and slot machines. From gambling we will only take sports betting and some card games such as poker and blackjack.
Why do I think you have a better chance of getting rich in trading than in sports betting or card games for money? There are many reasons for this.
1. In trading there is a stop loss, there is averaging, there is a hold, that is, the ability to hold a position for a long time until it becomes profitable. There is none of this in gambling.
Trading is in all aspects very different from gambling, and we all know that no person trades for fun and entertainment as it is with gambling. Now, in that aspect of stop loss in trading what I think appear to be similar to it in gambling is what we call cash out. A gambler can decide to cash out his game in the process to take available profit shown or a part of his stake amount made available for cash if he feels his bet is not going favourable.

Quote
2. In trading, if you want, you can do without professional intermediaries. There are peer-to-peer transactions. You can do without exchanges. In gambling, it is almost impossible to do without casinos and bookmakers.
Not really true though, we have what we call street gambling where two persons or more could just agree and come together to gamble mostly on cards games. Only what I don't like about this type of gambling is that there's no moderator to meditate against possible disagreement which mainly leads to quarells and fights.

Quote
3. Trading includes derivatives and leverage trading. Of course, these are tools that require a lot of knowledge, but nevertheless it is possible. Derivatives allow you to hedge a position. In gambling there is no concept of position, there is only a bet.
The cash out concept I raised above could still come in for position here as it is with trading. A gambler can before betting on any games especially in sports decides to cash out in his parlay bet.

Quote

4. In gambling, you must have the highest quality of prediction. In trading this is not necessary, because there are strategies such as rebalancing. If your bitcoins double in price, sell half. If you fall by 2 times, buy some of the stablecoins.
-------------
What advantages do you think sports betting and card games have over trading and investing?
In all, the best similarity shared between gambling and trading that sits well is just risk.

Lovely, I think this is one of those tournaments alot forum members will never want to miss out from the packages that is involved as the rewards are interesting considering the minimum amount for bet.

As a part of your T&C for intended participants to the tournament which I stumbled on and have quoted below, I will like to be cleared on this and also for the benefit of others per say. Based on this very T&C does it mean that persons that are residents in countries where your operation isn't reached/permitted are not eligible to partake in the tournament and therefore shouldn't bother using VPN as they might be disqualified eventually based on their ineligibility as regarding this area of residence/address in the T&C??

569  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Reasons why Bitcoin dey exceptional and good to use. on: June 11, 2024, 10:30:03 PM
Op I just like the way you just arrange everything with pure explanation wey no carry plenty gramma cos in that way newbies for the Naija board go easily grab knowledge of the difference wey bitcoin possess when we compare am to fiat. Among all those exceptionality me nah the privacy through decentralization, and unto say you be in charge of your money  without the middle man getting involved na those features among other things na make me just like bitcoin.

Man no fit just get privacy and financial freedom with fiat, government no fit alow you get am at all. Just imagine the way them use hoard the naira last year wey people come the experience unnecessary scarcity of the naira. Na the problem of fiat be that wey bitcoin come as alternative.
570  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Africa Football Discussion || Current Topic: Worldcup qualifiers - CAF. on: June 11, 2024, 09:44:00 PM
No way, if we can't beat our fellow Africa country is it one of those European countries that we can beat? To me is better not to qualify for the World Cup than going there to disgrace ourselves.
Are fellow African teams really that weak to warrant this expression?
when I see people analyze football in this perspective I just ponder if they really watch African football international games objectively or they just being sentimental about it because they watch a lot of European football lately.

That's by the way.
To be honest am like every other fan no happy with the Nigerian team performance and seeing that they may not go for next world cup breaks my heart. Same Zimbabwe team which Nigeria struggled to get a draw with was same team South Africa trashed 3:1. And to say the least, Nigeria is with just 3 points in their group  occupying the fifth position when teams like Benin Republic, Rwanda, and Lesotho are  occupying the top followed by  South Africa. It appears the underdogs are taking the center stage which wasn't expected.

571  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do You Understand Math? on: June 11, 2024, 08:18:54 PM
About the lottery quote I don't agree!  Maybe we would have gotten a clear position about this quote if Albert Einstein had given himself to a little gamble
 Grin
If been good at mathematics  makes a a great profitable gambler then probably a lot of mathematicians who are good at mathematics to a fault would have made a fortune from it.  I have heard and read stories of people hitting the jackpot or having huge win without having to know maths but it's that they were just lucky to have made those wins.

Having good skills in games like poker and blackjack is great as it get to reduce your chances of  high loses especially if you gamble responsibly without having abusing your strategy, but building on it as a way to constantly win the table is absurd to my view.
572  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How were you able to handle a losing streak up to 5 times and above? on: June 11, 2024, 06:46:17 PM
.
Lesson so far, the need to manage risk is highly recommendable, stick to plans and never go above your plan, all this while my profits have been much higher than my loses, but a single week took the majority of those profits, Therefore, even though you are these profitable person in gambling just as I have been all this while, there may be a rainy day for you and what would protect you are these strategies in place.

Have you had this experience before, and how were you able to manage/handle it?
[/pre]
Firstly, I haven't had this experience in this particular way of singling each game and betting on them up to five different games. I have staked on single game but not more than two at a time. Five for me is much.

No matter the current form of a team involved or the odd size no bet prediction is sure, and that's why we have to take calculated risk with every bet not to go above the usual standard you have for long using which has been profitable with less losses incurred. Though losing is  an unavoidable aspect of gambling which we all must experience, we must in that light learn to manage our losses not to overwhelm our balance.

574  Economy / Speculation / Re: The BTC stability on: June 10, 2024, 08:08:21 PM
I think BTC is very volatile to use it as a value reserve of a big company or a country. But it is awesome seeing its capability to speculate and invest in long term. Today I watched a video on YouTube a rich man saing that BTC is 80% of his patrimony. I think it can be dangerous. And all of you? Also are all in?
Why you contradicting yourself? You just said it's awesome seeing the capabilities of bitcoin (of which I believe you must have done your research and known about such capabilities before going on to say that) and the same you is trun around to say it's dangerous for all of us investing in it. Maybe you could have cleared the air by what danger you're implying.

Well, for me  as a bitcoin believer, i can always advocate for every investor to invest the amount he can afford to lose and this amounts is subjective to every individual financial capacity. For those that have an understanding of how the profit system of bitcoin works despite the volatility, their focus is  usually long term.
575  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ALLinBETS Casino Gaming Platform on: June 10, 2024, 07:49:36 PM
about your last question... probably we are still missing a revolutionary decentralized casino or gambling sites that are fully integrated with blockchain.
Probably in the future we will more decentralized casino, but actually I can't see any real innovation on that field.
We are not unaware about how these things work... Yes, every new casino will want to claim the status of a web3 decentralized casino to attract users because they understand that everything decentralization is what bitcoin adoptors would be on the lookout for.

But frankly speaking, I am in doubt if there will be more decentralized casinos or those claiming to be decentralized right now will continue bearing that status in the future with the government pressure on these casinos through operational license which I don't think any casino will want to lose its license. It's just a matter of time they start prompting for KYC for verification of customers just as every other casinos.
576  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Africa Football Discussion || Current Topic: Worldcup qualifiers - CAF. on: June 10, 2024, 05:51:01 PM
Today Benin who are sitting at number 3 of the group will host the Super Eagles who haven't won a single game and I think we have to win this game if not we have to go back to our calculator to start counting points of other countries to see how we can qualify.
The first half ending with a score of one goal to Nigeria and two to Benin republic who were the team trailing. Nigeria have been playing and moving the ball around but we are not really showing our Attacking prowess, Our coach does not look technically sound, because what is his reason today for not starting Boniface? We finished second in the AFCON but we are struggling to qualify for the world cup, I blame the Nigerian football federation for send Poseiro away. Raphael Onyedika and Iwobi have been the best players from the first half. In the second half we need the coach to make some tactical changes because we need to start trying to get our equalizer from the moment the second half whistle is blown.
I am not confident about this new coach, his team formation dose not look matured, his ability to tactically coordinate his players is poor and his selection of players is not favorable.
In this match, I think he underrated the opponent that is why he set up with such formation and now that we have started losing 2-1 after we take the lead in the 27th minute, we are very poor defensively and we have conceded two goals just within 10 minutes.

Did you guys think we will qualify to the World Cup? Because we have drew all the three matches we have played so far, and we are about to lose or draw this one, and all the matches are winnable matches to a team like Nigeria.
This game there's a lot of lack of urgency and intensity on the side of the Nigeria players, I mean was one of those fans that welcomed the appointment of Coach Finidi George but I seem to get disappointed with the results Nigeria team is getting in this world qualifier games drawing all the matches and currently struggling with Benin Republic which was supposed to be an added points with ease. There's no coordinated tactics, no ideas to effectively change results through creative substitutions and it's as though the job is too big for the Coach to handle. And this doesn't leave the players from the problem right now.
577  Economy / Speculation / Re: plant a tree, when bitcoin price increase new record $1k on: June 10, 2024, 05:26:11 PM
The importance of trees existing within our environment can't be overemphasized as the benefits to humanity can't be quantified. The level of hot weather being experienced in Urban areas are as a result of diminishing trees with rather tall buildings occupying almost every land space.

For those who do travel ones in a while to the rural areas must have had a refreshing difference between the air in urban areas and that of the rural areas, and this is as a result of the existence of many trees and other green plants in existence there.

The initiative of using a new bitcoin ATH in relation to planting trees is an initiative coming at the right time.  As wee live in an era where every individual wants to plant and own a house but not a tree. But at least if you don't have a space of yours to plant a tree then try not to add to the practices which  causes the buildup to the increasing global warming ravishing the world today.

580  Economy / Economics / Re: The government cares for no one but waits for you to get rich for taxes paying. on: June 09, 2024, 11:21:00 PM
I do not know about other countries but in my country, politics has compromised the economy growth with equity.
As the transition of power evolves, the value of the citizens are depreciated in the eyes of the governments which now optimizes citizens to rely living in fortitude of bravery and accepting challenges so that we don't give it all up hopelessly.

We fight it out by ourselves like there is no government to provide us with some basic amenities and quite better to be called "a daylight robbery or extortion" that once individuals has struggled to make productive differences from the economy slavery chain of the government, you would be will assigned to revenue on taxations.

My question.... If the government could find utilizations on the citizens for taxations on generating funds for infrastructures and other government services , why don't they invest on the citizens or support those with the potentials to productiveness knowing quite well that once they makes success, they would be demanded to also contributed to the growing structures of the economy?
What the government knows is that if a successful individual refuses to comply with the government order, they will get you frustrated tending to fold your productiveness qualities or you go to jail.
Grew up to understand that tax payment is an obligation on the part of the citizens to their country's government and not a thing of an option or choice in as much as you're due for it, be it a salary earner or business.

It's a sad reality that the performance of the government to their social, economic and political responsibility is lacking in this part of our world but we still have to pay our tax as it's the only way we can continue to have a right to demand and  hold them accountable. A man that doesn't pay tax doesn't have a right to demand for social amenities only when you're a tax payer that's when you can boldly criticize and drag the government for certain failures and mismanagement.

Now make i enter broken cause wetin I wan talk na about the worwor side of us.  Me notice am say the main reason why many of we Nigerians no dey fit stand up to drag the government for accountability be say  we no sabi pay tax, plenty people the hide from paying, so them mouth no fit strong in terms of demanding responsibility and accountability from the government, and the few wey the pay no go fit fight this fight fully.

Although I know say e get certain indirect taxes we dey pay for certain services we use but apart from those the direct ones we dey like run from am so e go hard make tuna fully work well as we dey think am.
Check oyinbo people and their tax life nah

Quote
So, why don't they tax the poor who barely struggle to eat?:Simply because they found those set of citizens useless and the prison will be occupied if charge them for not paying taxes since there are more Poor people than the rich in the society.
Just to correct a statement, the poor people in society are not useless. I learnt that somewhere.
