561  Economy / Economics / Re: Imagine African countries using Bitcoin to pay salaries, on: January 08, 2024, 05:20:23 AM
I don't know if the government of any African country have adopted the system of paying salaries in Bitcoin, but I know here is Nigeria they haven't, it's possible to pay employees using Bitcoin or other crypto currencies ,
With the services of some crypto currency payroll agencies  like Bitwage, papaya global, ontop,  which will make it possible for the government to pay their workers in Bitcoin or other crypto currencies and can be sent  into their digital wallet,
Since it has to do with the government another agency can be set up in the country in respect to paying salaries as Bitcoin which will somehow help in the growth of the economy of the country.

Paying salary in Bitcoin will have no positive financial effect on these workers. Workers in most of these developing nations depend solely on their salaries to survive. Which entails that they will immediately change Bitcoin to fiat to take care of some expenses. It will only benefit those that have other sources of income, which could now allow them to hodl the Bitcoin until the price increases. It would have been a good idea if the transaction fees were low but how can the government cover the cost of paying these high transaction fees?

Every government will always promote its local currency, I doubt if any politicians will decide to ditch its local currency for Bitcoin for salary payment. For me, these workers should be taught how to make extra money from different sources and some can be introduced to Bitcoin as an investment platform.
562  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Use your winning responsibly on: January 07, 2024, 07:45:24 PM
This is indeed a motivation for me and other gamblers to use our wins wisely. Some gamblers will spend wins on unnecessary things because they see the win as free money but they forget that they had been losing before now. It is common for businessmen to establish drinking bars close to these casinos because it is common for gamblers to buy beers for almost everybody in the physical casinos. Others usually gamble off the win because they expect to win something bigger than what they have won so they keep betting until they lose all.  So I am very pleased to see that the OP has used his win judiciously by buying an electronic property.

This is also a testimony that we shouldn't wait until we win big before we maximize the win. We could use little wins to satisfy a need or even use it to start a business. Congratulations OP on your win and I wish you more wins because I assume that you will still put it to good use.
563  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Answer this Gambling Question on Duration of Joy after a win or loss on: January 07, 2024, 07:03:49 PM
No one enjoys losing in gambling.Losing brings our hopes down, it ushers in emotional pain and grumpiness whereas, winning elevates our mood, bringing happiness and excitement. There are games where I have won and after withdrawing my winnings, I am so happy that I give gifted some of it to people around me. This doesn't last for long once the it is out of my hand and minds. I am curious, how long does this joy last after a win or a loss—does it linger until your next bet, lasting the whole day, just 20 minutes, or perhaps 2 hours?

It will depend mostly on how important the money is to me. There are times when you are under some financial pressure and you really need funds to sort it out. When you become lucky and win a bet, the joy would last for a longer period. This is because the win will be so important that you will cherish it for a long time. Another factor that can make a win memorable is how much you win. The joy of winning big could last for a long time than small wins.  Losing when you gambled more than your budget could be very painful. And the regret and pain can last for a long time. Losing a huge amount especially when you didn't gamble within your limit even when you have some level of confidence that you will win is usually unforgettable. On the other small losses will be wiped out of my memory in a few minutes, in fact immediately I log out of the gambling platform or after leaving a physical bet shop.
564  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin: A conditional wealth creator on: January 07, 2024, 06:29:10 PM
Investing in ponzi and scam projects is relevant with the promise of relatively large refunds and attractive marketing. The risks involved are also very large, there are many Ponzi schemes that we can find in our environment, such as MLM, for some people this is risky, but for some people it is also a land of money. It's also good for us to know or be involved to be able to differentiate and as a lesson. However, I am not suggesting that this is the main investment medium.

Regarding Bitcoin's volatility, this is normal and what you said is a buying opportunity.

It is greed that makes people want to invest in get-rich projects such as Ponzi schemes and businesses that promise huge profits within a short period. Some of these schemes do a lot of advertisement and in some cases, they pay some celebrities to promote the scheme. These celebrities will deny having any relationship with them after they have rug pulled or scammed investors. In most cases, many people end up losing their money because these businesses are not sustainable. Some of these projects are somehow difficult to identify if you don't do intensive research on them.

I will never advise anybody to invest in any Ponzi scheme because you cannot predict when the business will collapse. Most people that are the first investors are the ones that might be lucky to get their money but others might lose all. Ponzi schemes have destroyed many people's finances, businesses, and families.  A young boy who borrowed money to invest in one of these get-rich-quick committed suicide because he couldn't cope with the loss.
565  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin: A conditional wealth creator on: January 07, 2024, 02:08:41 PM
In conclusion
There is no such thing as free money. Creating wealth comes with a cost, which means creating wealth through Bitcoin also comes with conditions as mentioned above. There is no such thing as getting rich quick.

Thanks for reading...
Anybody who wants to get rich quickly should consider Investing in Ponzi schemes or scam projects. These avenues promise free and quick money without any effort. If you want to invest in the Bitcoin space you need to be patient and have a long-term investment mentality. The main cost of investing in Bitcoin is the risk associated with it due to volatility. But volatility also has its benefits because it also gives investors the chance of buying Bitcoin at a cheaper rate.

It's a pity that many are interested in bitcoin but are not ready to give it all it may demand from them to achieve the higher level of success in it, when we are being introduced to something new as bitcoin, we are expected to take time in learning how it works, understand the reason for creating this digital currency and then be able to afford taking the risk it may also constitutes and know about every constituents of any mistake made, after this, you will understand the reason why some could be earning from bitcoin while others may not because you're not all doing the same thing.
Interesting. If I have your permission, I would be using a line of phrase from this your reply in addressing something crucial in my next post.
If you want to use the words or phrases verbatim, you need to put in a quote. But you need to reference it if you are just using the idea, which means you have to rephrase it.
566  Economy / Reputation / Re: @Lucius accusations: is there hope for all newbies? on: January 06, 2024, 09:59:22 AM
Sadly, I find it difficult to write something short. It feels odd and weird. At the same time, I still feel that most members won't appreciate long form of content. I noticed that most users usually write about something that we can easily or probably must have read about somewhere. They even go as far as asking questions that regular search engines can provide answers to.

Though, I clearly understand the fact that every user is trying to checkmate the system, but I also suggest that appropriate tools/procedures should be in place in checkmating. False accusation and assumption shouldn't be the number one option. Even SEC finds evidence before taking someone to court.
Nobody is stopping you from writing as it pleases you because there are no rules that guide the length of posts. If your post is interesting people will definitely find it helpful and read them. But you should also understand that there is a need to write your post concisely and understandably. If you also check most blogs, you will agree that articles are becoming shorter so that readers can spend less time reading them. The world is now on a fast lane and everybody wants to get quality information within a short time.

I will also want to dispute your position that most users write about things that are common on the internet. But we all know that all information can be accessed online because the internet is an information bank. You might have also gotten your information from a source. If I search on some of your posts, I am sure to get hundreds of works regarding what you have written about. I suggest you search the forum in any area of Bitcoin you are interested in, I can attest that you will see several masterpieces.

There are so many AI detectors and most of them are not 100% reliable this is why it is good to use more than one to check a writing. However, until we have standard AI detectors that are acceptable by the majority to be reliable we will keep having these accusations. But you don't have to be worried if your works are written by you. Enjoy the forum.
567  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Good thing about your government? on: January 06, 2024, 09:32:19 AM
The government of my country have done so many bad things but few good ones for citizens. They are corrupt and spend extravagantly which has made the poor to become poorer and the rich richer. The removed subsidy on very certain basic needs has led to an increase in the price of goods and services.

But one good thing about the government is that they have continued to resist Western pressure to legalize some behaviour that is against the religious and cultural beliefs of most people in my country. Some economically strong nations have even threatened to stop giving loans and grants to our country if they refuse to legalize some of these behaviours. Rather than succumbing to these pressures they made laws to prohibit these culturally and religiously unacceptable behaviors. This stance by our government has made them to gain the support of most people in my country.

For the first time the government of my state gave civil servants Christmas allowance. This brought so much joy in the state and it made the holiday a memorable one.
568  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What triggers the zeal to invest? on: January 06, 2024, 08:44:39 AM
I believe it takes a million risk to invest in Bitcoin, still people are left with more than a million reason to take the risk. A lot of us especially the newbies are still skeptical  investing, each with enough reason to invest and not to invest respectively. The core question here is; what triggers you to invest?...for myself, I haven't figured out any tangible reason why I should invest, solely because I'm yet to understand the nooks and crannies of the market fully. However, I'm working hard studying extensively to understand the market. I feel this great joy when one post his first time buying Bitcoin, I get this great zeal to buckle up and nurture the feeling of investing too, believing that one day, that which triggers the feeling to invest will come to manifestation. I envy every first timer Bitcoin buyer, cos I'm looking forward to being like them in no distance time.
Your approach towards investing in Bitcoin is right. You have decided to learn about Bitcoin before Investing. Many people who are in the Bitcoin space want to make a profit from buying, holding and selling in the future. That's not a bad decision as much as you are not seeing the sector as a get-rich-quick scheme. Many people have the wrong Investment mentality because they think the sector is a Ponzi scheme that gives them instant and big profits. Just like stock, real estate and other investments, you can buy Bitcoin and wait till the price appreciates. Many people have attained financial freedom because they bought Bitcoin in its early stage.

Other investors trade on Bitcoin. These investors don't need to wait for a long time to gain from it. They monitor the market and sell at a given price collecting their profits. Others also use Bitcoin mainly as a currency because it helps them to invade certain restrictions placed on fiat. Bitcoin gives businessmen unlimited access to their funds, unlike banks that have a limited volume of transactions. So these businesses use Bitcoin to pay for goods and services both locally and internationally.

I agree that Bitcoin is still at its early stage, thus there is still a great opportunity to invest in it and make good profits in the future. Therefore nobody should assume he is late because there are still millions of people that have not picked interest in the sector.
569  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The most logical and profitable game on: January 06, 2024, 08:01:03 AM
I know that basically gambling is based on luck, but we can use tricks or strategies so that we don't spend a lot of money and can still win, even if it's only a small win.

In general, in my opinion, there are several categories of games in gambling such as house edge games, sportsbooks, slot machine games, live casino games, and lottery. In your opinion, which game do you think is the most logical to win? and what is the reason?
I am a habitual sports bet gambler because I find it very interesting and entertaining. I have also played other games but I find sports betting more entertaining than others. But from what I have observed, no game is easy to win. Every game has its benefits and weaknesses that every gambler must maximize or surmount to win. There is no easy game in gambling, if there is almost every gambler will be playing such a game. This is because everyone wants to make easy money. Gamblers need to understand the game and develop skills on how to win bets. But I doubt if there is any constant trick that guarantees constant wins. One has to keep experimenting with different tricks in the bid to beat the house but like I said there is no better strategy. What works for bettor X might not work for Y, this is why we need to improve on our skills.
570  Economy / Economics / Re: If you want to get rich, you have to become immune to the money.......! on: January 06, 2024, 07:41:41 AM
How true is it? I want to ask the successful people here in this forum. What kind of rules or strategies that you guys use which led you to your success?
The definition of success is relative, which entails that everyone has a different definition of what success is. Some people feel that to be successful is to have lots of money that gives them the means to buy almost everything they want. But I don't see success in that light because it is not all about the money. I see success as setting a goal, pursuing and achieving it. So if I want to be a university graduate and I study hard to achieve that goal, I am successful.

Financially, success is the ability to provide all you need without borrowing or buying on credit. In this present economic era when most nations are going through serious economic problems if you can be able to pay for your basic needs, I think you are successful. To be successful you need to spend less than you earn. Focus on buying products that last longer and don't go for flashy but fragile products. Look for cheaper alternatives and try to look for discounted products. Seek other sources of income that will assist you in saving and invest your savings in a viable project.
571  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you think gamblers do retired betting gambles on: January 06, 2024, 05:49:22 AM
One day I saw an old man of seventy [70] years old in gambling center were we bet for soccer predictions gambling bet, and I interviewed the old man that his age that why is it gambling up this age, and many people who don't know me was like wondering why I interviewed the man and some said why I mine questioning the man that gambling is a game of personal interest.
The man you interviewed is a kind and cool-headed man. Some people might not take this question lightly because it sounds embarrassing. And you didn't even speak with him privately that was why other gamblers noticed the conversation. The ideal thing to do if you want to get such information is to speak with the individual privately.

Quote
As a gambler what do you think that should be the right time we suppose to leave gambling weather we are making profits or we are not making profits with gambling, because I know quite well that gambling whenever you are making profits you will wish to continue gambling unless that you run out of cash.
Gambling only has age limits for the underaged. There are no restrictions for adults, which means one can gamble for eternity. As much as the person still has the physical and mental capacity to place bets, there are no restrictions. I even think that retirees should gamble more because they are bored and have less responsibility. The Retirement period could be boring, therefore gambling could be part of the entertainment activities of these retirees. At this stage, these old people don't have dependants, so they might have more funds to gamble.
572  Economy / Gambling discussion / Will you gamble on Bitcoin ETF approval results? on: January 05, 2024, 11:24:58 AM
A Polygon-based gambling site allows gamblers to gamble on the outcome of the spot Bitcoin ETF application by some investors. Gamblers are required to choose Yes” or “No” bets on whether the Bitcoin ETF applications will be approved or not. According to a report about $1.5 million worth of bets have been placed and bettors are patiently waiting for SEC's decision. From reports it seems that the majority of gamblers believe that the SEC will approve so the majority of them choose yes.

I know that there are diverse bets on unconventional events like Miss World, the US election and even wars. But this one is new and I just want to know if you will be comfortable betting on the spot Bitcoin ETF.

573  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does the tension make you take risk that are sometimes worth it? on: January 05, 2024, 08:02:21 AM
We all know that gambling sometimes can be fun and something not, even if we  blatantly claim here that we do gamble alone for the fun purpose 🙄🙄. Truth be told majority of person actually gamble because of the possibility that they can earn some profits from the act and as we all know it , not all the time the end result is what we expected. Although am not an addicted gambler but I can say I do my fair share of gambling activities sometimes and what I have observed is that sometimes I actually make some hard calls that turn out to be fruitful when ever am tenced but the results may differ for different individuals though.

So I would like to know your own experience when making or taking risk in gambling under pressure.
You are correct that many people gamble to earn some money to meet our needs. Having such an expectation is not bad because we are all in for profit making. It is not also strange or out of place to experience some level of tension after placing a bet. But it becomes a problem when you begin to have excessive tension or anxiety due to bets. And I have observed that this happens when you stake more than you can afford to lose or above your gambling budget. I have seen people become so anxious that you begin to wonder if they have staked their lives.

I undergo some level of pressure each time I place a bet but it is always moderate because what I gamble with is a very small portion of my earning. The money I use for gambling is what I can easily spend on pastries or other unnecessary things.
574  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: January 05, 2024, 07:14:36 AM
manchester city really needs a new striker to cover julian alvares and harland.
But not under 17 players who are still young and not ready to be dropped in the premier league or champions league competitions. under 17 players are still not strong and sturdy for the English league competition which plays hard can be prone to injury.
Claudio Echeverri will be included in next season's plan for Manchester City. He is still young and City still has some quality strikers that will give the Argentine limited playing time. Maybe Pep Guardiola is already preparing for next season because some key players might decide to leave Etihad. But this will be a big win for Girona who are doing exceptionally well in the La Liga. Coach Michal will be happy to get this wonderkid for six months. Claudio Echeverri has been a target of both Real Madrid and Barcelona but Girona is just fortunate to get this kid till the end of the season.

with a coaching career that is not good, it will indeed be bad for him for his career. Some players have tried and been successful as coaches, but not all great players can coach other people.
Rooney may not have a good approach to players. and that made the strategy he planned not work for the team. maybe his career is finished now. It's time for him to be a spectator and not criticize other players too much.
Successful players sometimes don't make good coaches. In the management of football, the past success of a player is irrelevant. Frank Lampard and Steven Gerrard have also been very unsuccessful. Maybe Wayne Rooney should go back to the coaching school to learn more or take a coaching assistant job under a reputable manager. He could also consider taking a sports pundit job and quit football coaching. At least he would be able to do a good job analyzing games since he has experience as a player and coach.
575  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Moving to America on: January 05, 2024, 06:02:01 AM
Let's just say I was from another country moving to America what would be the best state to move to based on safety, diversity and lack of racism also based on peace and standard of living
I don't know why you want to move to the US. If you are moving because you are fleeing war or violence or you are seeking better economic opportunities, then it might be a good idea to do proper research on the states and their laws. The country has different laws in different states so you have to get acquainted with the laws as it relates to you. I would not like to stay in a state that has a high rate of gun use because it might be violent. I will also suggest that you locate a friend or relative who resides in the US because they might be in a better position to give you firsthand experience of how these states look like.

But if you desire to experience low racism, I am sorry to state that racism is enshrined in the culture of America. Even blacks that are born in America see black immigrants as opportunists. Just pray that Donald Trump doesn't win the next election because racism will increase if he is victorious. But the best place to stay and have respect and peace of mind is your country.
576  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: bitcoin fees and how we accept its volatility on: January 05, 2024, 05:27:31 AM
from this it can be concluded that changing bitcoin fees should not be an obstacle to bitcoin adoption.  For those who transact Bitcoin with small amounts, it's a good idea to pay attention to the time because you will definitely find the best time to process your Bitcoin transactions.

The high transaction fee is a major impediment to the use or adoption of Bitcoin. Transaction fees might have dropped now but will someone have to wait until the price is reduced before carrying out a transaction? Some persons use Bitcoin to make payments for business transactions and such delay could hamper the smooth running of the firm. I have also observed that transaction fees also reduce during certain hours of the day. Observing the timing of the transaction fees in the mempool to identify favourable hours might also be beneficial. But I know that Bitcoin will gain more adoption if the spamming of the network by these ordinal inscriptions is put to check.

Very nice, so what happened to make the fees go down?
Anyway good chance I hope the fees stay this low for a long time, I have postponed all my transactions and it looks like I will get them done before the fees go up again.
That's the point, how long will this normal transaction fee last? The Bitcoin community has not found the solution to this spamming of the network by Bitcoin Ordinals, which means we might see another season of high fees very soon.
577  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Premier League 2023/2024 Discussion Thread ⚽ on: January 05, 2024, 05:01:04 AM
However, this possibility is still just a rumor because in fact Liverpool has not said clearly that they will sell Mohammed Salah to Saudi Arabia because the terms of the sale must reach a joint decision, not just one-sided if Salah doesn't want to go there, if I think about it, it looks like Liverpool will still keep him at least until the season This ended because Salah role is still very important and Liverpool will not necessarily be able to replace Salah with another player if it is possible that Salah will leave transfer market this January, while Mbappe will not necessarily immediately accept the offer.
Selling Mo Salah and buying Kylian Mbappé will be beneficial to all the parties involved. Liverpool will benefit because Saudi clubs are willing to pay a good sum that could help them facilitate the buying the Mbappé. They will also have much younger attacker that will add more vigor to the Liverpool attack. Although they will lose an experienced Legend but Mbappé is one of the best in the world currently.

Salah will also benefit because he would earn more than he has ever gotten in his entire football career. Saudi-based clubs will be willing to pay him close to what Ronaldo and Benzema earn. And he would also enjoy the culture and religious orientation of Saudi Arabia. PSG might be the biggest loser but Mbappé is willing to forgo his £69million loyalty bonus for him to have a smooth transfer out of the club. For Mbappé, Liverpool will give him a better platform to achieve his dreams of winning the Champions League, maybe next season. He would also enjoy the honour to become the biggest player in the most popular league in the world.

Quote
Of course if Mohammed Salah leaves and is replace by Kylian Mbappe it won't be a big problem for Liverpool but unfortunately there are many clubs who want Mbappe such as Real Madrid, Manchester City, Liverpool, Arsenal so at least Liverpool must reach a definite agreement before taking step to sell Salah because it is feared that the dream of recruiting Mbappe will not come true.
Liverpool is now the biggest contender for the signature of the French striker after Real Madrid announced that they have ended their aspiration to get Mbappé. Mbappé also commented that he likes Liverpool because it is his mother's favourite club. I think the English side will be able to fund this transfer if Salah decides to move to the money-spinning Saudi league.
578  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: El Salvador has become the first country to make #Bitcoin legal tender! 🇸🇻 on: January 04, 2024, 01:34:05 PM
In this case I disagree with Nayib Bukele approach because it is better not to educate children on Bitcoin education at a young age. If children are educated in bitcoin education at this age then they will become addicted to earning money from bitcoins as soon as they become addicted to earning money from bitcoins they will develop reluctance towards education. A child's education will be ruined whenever there is a reluctance to study in a child. And if education is lost from a child, that child can never become a human being. In my opinion I would say that children cannot be educated in bitcoin education at a young age. When a child is educated and turns 18+ then you can be ready to educate them in bitcoin education.
How do you see Bitcoin? Bitcoin is a currency designed to be used to pay for goods and services. I don't know what is wrong with teaching children about a currency that promotes decentralization and privacy. After all, money is part of the curriculum of most primary schools, so it is not wrong to introduce these young children to Bitcoin. What is wrong with preparing the young generation for the future? Don't forget that Bitcoin is legalized in El Salvador and citizens including children should be able to know how to use this currency.

I am sure these children will only be interested introduced to the basics of Bitcoin and little or no emphasis will be placed on Bitcoin as an investment. @2Pizza410000BTC don't just see Bitcoin as an investment but also perceive it as a currency.
579  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why it's very important to develop a thick skin on: January 04, 2024, 12:45:31 PM
In life you cannot please everyone, what Mr A might do in a certain situation is totally different for what Mr B will do, we as humans we just have to follow the right path and do the right thing.
It's very important that if you really want to succeed in life you must learn how to develop a thick skin, look at our leaders today, they go through all sort of criticism because there are certain policies that we doesn't agree too, but they still stand strong and keep on doing the work they were elected for.
To succeed in every area of life, it is important to know how to handle criticism. This is because people will always speak against what you do even if it is right. We should learn how to treat these attacks because humans have different views about everything this is why you don't expect people to accept everything you say or do. But I am not comfortable with your expression that politicians should have a thick skin even when the people are speaking against policies. This assertion might mean that our leaders shouldn't heed the yearnings and aspirations of the people which is a sign of autoritarianism. Politicians should have a thick skin but they should be open to listening to the desire of the people.

Quote
Their are so many people out there that small criticism of how they are going wrong, they would want to run away, by resigning or quiting, but to be successful you need to understand that you cannot please everyone, and your decision making might be wrong which will definitely attracte criticism, but a man with thick skin will learn from it and move on instead of quitting.
If you know that what you are doing is right, there is no need to give up. There will always be attackers that will want to kill a good vision or dream but we have to be able to separate between constructive criticism and calculated attacks. There is always light at the end of the tunnel if you don't give up on a good project.
580  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How do you see a gambling review website that has its own gambling website? on: January 04, 2024, 12:21:57 PM
I am asking this question because, for me, there could be a possible conflict of interest here.

As a review site running its own gambling site, there might be a concern that they could potentially undermine their competitors on their website to boost their own standing in the competition. This could involve making biased or false statements to praise their own website.

While I'm not certain if this is happening in the real world, it raises the question of whether you would trust a review website in such a case.
I know that there are many trustworthy casino review websites, but I don't rely on them for information. Before approving any gambling platform, it is important to do your research. It is not proper for a gambling site to have its review site, this is because the gambling review site will only publish good things about their own casino while it will only show the weaknesses of other competitors. They might claim to be unbiased but there will still be some level of partiality. I will not trust such a review site because it will be used as an instrument of propaganda.
