561  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: January 13, 2017, 11:06:14 PM
Australia are in big trouble in their 1st ODI match against Pakistan currently 5/111 in the 24th over. Smith and Warner both failed to score runs which normally sees Australia loose if these 2 players fail to score big runs. Smith went out for a golden duck. I did post here that Pakistan would of got some confidence winning big against Australian XI and it looks like it has as they have come out firing.
Wade and Maxwell are building up a wonderful partnership . Maxwell is playing aggressively , even at this stage of the match he isn't defending , he is just going for it . If he goes on like this Aussies can score 260-270 runs , Faulkner is yet to come.
Wade , Maxwell and Faulkner change the complete game for Aussies and Pakistan as usual good with bowling but batting bring them down to lost match most of batsmen out without any reason they all want to hit big shots outside stadium but give easy catch practice to Aussies

I am still shocked with Bangladesh performance against Kiwis because they done stunner now need to do very good bowling to home side to bring them down now I think they also can do this
Faulkner didn't bat well but he bowled really well . The line and length was perfect today and he picked up early wickets which put Aussies right away in the drivers seat . Aussies are almost untouchable in home right now , hope Pak come back stronger in the next match .
Only 1 more day for India v England ODI series to begin .

The result was on expected lines but Pakistan did manage to stretch Australia.  Australia managed to recover from 78/5 to post 268. Not many teams would have the depth to recover so well. And once they managed to put a fighting score on the total, their bowlers were good enough to finish the job against Pakistan.
562  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: January 12, 2017, 12:54:46 AM
Pakistan easily won their 1st ODI tour match against Cricket Australia XI scoring 7/334 runs off 50 overs and then bowling out Australia for just 138 runs giving them a 196 runs win. This should give them some confidence going into the ODI series against Australia and also it will be a different team from the test series. I know that the team they played was second rate but it can help get that winning mentality back and maybe even challenge Australia in the up coming ODI series.

Pak sucks in ODI... they hardly have any pinch hitter in team who can move scoreboard quickly...

Their wicketkeeper and vice captain Sarfraz Ahmed has gone back to Pakistan, because his mother is unwell. He s a good batsman with a decent strike rate and Pakistan will miss him. Aussies should be easy favourites in the ODI series.
563  Economy / Speculation / Re: $1000: New floor? on: January 12, 2017, 12:51:09 AM
Is $1000 the floor...or is it the new ceiling?

It looks like the 2018 target.  Tongue
With the price crashing below $750 now, a lot of people will be tempted to cash out at various intermediate levels ($800, $900). The announcements by the Chinese government really seemed to have wrecked its price.
564  Economy / Speculation / Re: Over 100 bitcoins not selling on: January 12, 2017, 12:47:14 AM

Proof of crashing bitcoin - sell now and buy back 300$ like we do

The market depth for selling bitcoins might not look much, but liquidity will return if the price drops a bit more.
Selling and waiting for $300 is a very risky strategy. We all know how rapidly Bitcoin can take off.
565  Economy / Speculation / Re: This pull back is great on: January 08, 2017, 05:21:06 PM
I think as well that this pull back is necessary.
Bitcoin should grow by demand of people who want to use it. Not by speculants!
The way bitcoin went up the last few weeks was pure bubble building!
Bubbles tend to implode, and that is not what I want to happen to bitcoin.

Speculators have an important role to play too. They provide liquidity to the market.
But the market shouldn't be driven by the speculators. This pull back brings back normalcy to the market.
566  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: January 08, 2017, 05:18:24 PM
New Zealand white washed Bangladesh even in the T20s .Corey Anderson smashed a 41 ball 94 involving 10 sixes in which Bangladesh does not even have an answer and Shakib Al Hasan bowled an economic spell even with a score of 194 runs and with the runs in the board the Bangladesh cannot over come the huge total which was obvious and an easy bet won here even though the odds were low.

Bangladesh were never in the reckoning after New Zealand scored 194. Scoring 10 an over is not easy, even in a T20 match.
It is to their credit that they scored 167 runs.
New Zealand have whitewashed Bangladesh in both the ODI and T20 series.
567  Economy / Economics / Re: Let's Be Honest. We Are Waiting for $100/BTC to buy on: January 07, 2017, 04:36:04 AM
The train left and never turning back. There is no way the price to go so deep down. With all of these facts happened worldwide that is the devaluation of yuan in China , the demonetization in India, the hyperinflation in Venezuela and so on I would be very happy to buy if the price goes down to $700.

You might just have an opportunity over the next few weeks. Bitcoin is threatening to break below $800 now.
But the problem is we keep moving our goal posts ever so often. Once it reaches $700, we will wait for it reach $600 before deciding to buy.
568  Economy / Speculation / Re: Its not as bad as it looks on: January 07, 2017, 04:30:00 AM
It's going fast again. Sub $800 within the hour.

Confirmed that we'll never be under $800 again. Thanks kwukduck. You're always pointing left when you should be looking to the right Roll Eyes
Corrections have to happen. It's not a crash. Don't sell and we all win in the end.

I wouldn't be too sure about that.
Bitcoin is trading at $825 on Bitfinex and $816 on BTC-E. A small selling bout could drive it below $800.
Long term holders have nothing to worry about, though.
569  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: January 07, 2017, 04:19:29 AM
And thats it. Australia won by 220 runs.world class performance by team Australia and that is pakistan's 12 test loss in a row in Australia.

Massive win by Australia, as expected. Kudos to them for forcing a result by scoring at over 7 an over in the third innings of a test match. Pakistan, would be disappointed to lose 3-0, after being the top-ranked test team in the world a few months back.
570  Economy / Speculation / Re: Its not as bad as it looks on: January 06, 2017, 05:03:53 PM
I went to https://bitcoinwisdom.com/markets/bitfinex/btcusd and looked at the chart for the 1w time interval and this drop looks like a healthy pullback. What do you think?

Yes, it is a healthy pull back. I would have worried if the rally continued.
If we get into bubble territory and then people burn their fingers, they will blame Bitcoin.
571  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin's Next Direction 2017 Predictions on: January 06, 2017, 05:00:42 PM
Hello,

After successfully predicting BTC moves in 2016 here on the forum, I have a new set of 2017 predictions that I'm using to trade the current move.

1. Rise to $1,200-$1,300 (Current move)
2. Correction to $800-$900 level and range trading for a while
3. Rise to $1,500
4. Correction to $900-$1,000 and range trading for a while
5. Continued rise to $2,000 by end of year

tldr; BTC will double this year after making a couple of moves up and down.

I think you were a bit optimistic (and probably still are).
Btc didn't reach the 1200$ and by far (at least I didn't saw it). It reached the 1100 and that's already good!
Correction isn't as strong as what you say though... But rise to 1500 is really a heavy one! And you suppose after reaching 1500$ it will lose a third of his value in a consistent way? But why? Why would it drop by more than 30% just like that?
You're overestimating btc market fluctuations I'd say. Yes BTC volatility is high compared to traditional market. But still there is some logic behind it it's not just a game ^^

It did reach $1200 in some exchanges before dropping. Even the weighted average price touched $1180. So (1) isn't really that far off.
However, I do think (5) is optimistic. I don't see another run of this magnitude happening soon.
572  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: January 06, 2017, 04:56:24 PM
Guys, whats ur view on Aus vs Pak match

Can Aus pull a win ?

Any threatning of rain?

Australia have pulled out all their cards to enforce a win. It is not often that you see a team scoring 241 in 32 overs in a test match. Hell, that would be a good score even in an ODI. Pakistan have already lost one wicket and have to bat out one full day. I think Australia will manage an easy victory.
573  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin has gone beyond gold prices on: January 05, 2017, 04:34:25 PM
Bitcoin has now exceeded the gold price, is the choice of bitcoin or gold?

Why compare the price of gold in $/ounce to bitcoin?
You can always find a unit of weight, such that the price of gold (per unit weight) is equal to the price of bitcoin.
Comparing the two doesn't make sense.
574  Economy / Speculation / Re: Now That Bitcoin Is Under $1000 Again.. on: January 05, 2017, 04:31:59 PM
but not is possible in 3 hours pass to 1110 EURO to 910euro!! FUCK BTC!!!!

Welcome to the Bitcoin world.  Smiley
I didn't see any complaints when Bitcoin gained $150 in less than a day. Why rant about it now?
575  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: January 05, 2017, 04:29:40 PM
South Africa vs. Sri Lanka, 2nd Test match. South Africa won by 282 runs. It was expected match Sri Lanka batsman again failed in this test match 2nd innings they got all out just for 224 runs. Kagiso Rabada bowled superbly in both innings. He picks total 10 wickets in two innings. He got a player of the match award. Congrats South Africa.

The Sri Lankan batting was expected to struggle against South African pace and struggle they did. The 2 centurions in the first innings - Elgar and de Kock set up the match beautifully for South Africa. Rabada did the rest, picking up 10 wickets in the match. Sri Lanka will be dreading going out and facing South Africa in the next match.
576  Economy / Economics / Re: 7 transactions per second..... is not enough, will it be de end of btc? on: January 04, 2017, 11:36:00 PM
Only 7 transactions per second can BTC process, in order for the survival of BTC needs to be increase by hundreds, and I think it can be increase so will that be the begining of the end of BTC?

When Segwit does get implemented, this will improve. In the future, I am hopeful of consensus on increasing the block size as well.
But I don't think that the block size dispute will be the end of BTC. The price doesn't seem to indicate so.  Smiley
577  Economy / Speculation / Re: HUGE Drop coming! on: January 04, 2017, 11:29:11 PM
Ha ha... My jaw dropped and touched the floor long ago. There is a fear at the bottom of my heart, about whether I should book profits before the next correction happens. But I have managed to hold on until now.
578  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: January 04, 2017, 11:24:59 PM
it looks batting pitch but do expect some turn later on..
Can pakistan comeback?

If you mean comeback to draw this match, it is still possible. We have seen strong displays of Pakistani batting, especially in the first test match of this series. But if you mean comeback to win this match, I don't think it is likely. Australia's huge first innings score has ruled out that possibility.
579  Economy / Economics / Re: Guy loses 240-600 BTC trying to short on: January 03, 2017, 12:47:47 PM
Shorting is a kind of game not suitable for bitcoin but it could be very useful in other altcoins. Bitcoins characteristics being the prototype cryptocurrency is unlike any other alternative coins in the market. Bitcoin should be hold and dont sell in a very short span of time if you want to profit from the price inflation that happens all the time. It is also true that many have gain large profit from holding their bitcoins and I have the same view as I am saving some amounts in case a skyrocket price happens.
How can short selling be safe with other alt currencies.Future trading is a big risk in this unregulated market and the price can be manipulated without any specific reasons and with this sole factor i would suggest everyone to stop doing these sort of things.

In the past many traders make a good profit with shorting. It`s not connected or more useful just with other altcoins. It`s more about feeling a moment when to sell when to hold, when to buy. This three things makes one man a good trader I think.
Just a year ago when I was here, price moving was ideal for shorting. This summer we had situation when bitcoin was above 700 $ and then drop back to 500 $, that is also ideal times for shorting. I think we can see this again, just how to notice this before it happens?

It is always easier in hindsight to know the correct time to short. People might have expected a pullback from $700 to $500 levels and hence decided to short. Unfortunately, they got the direction wrong and incurred huge losses.
580  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Price Jumps Above $1000 For First Time In last 3-Years on: January 03, 2017, 12:37:51 PM
the best thing about this rise is that it has stayed up strongly. the rise happaned and despite many speculating a drop, the price is still above $1000 and there is a very string buy support keeping it up which is the most important part of it.

I am actually worried that there are no dips. It is natural in every rally to have some profit booking and some pullback in the price.
This is beginning to look like a manipulated market.
