561  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Is Xapo a scam?? on: April 06, 2016, 07:12:25 AM
Xapo is not a scam.  The CEO is now on the board of directors at PayPal and the developers are behind the games are quite talented.  They have a good verification system and it seems safe to me, for now.
562  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Be careful about any Negative Bitcoin stories reguarding banks on: April 06, 2016, 07:05:47 AM
they are all investing millions and millions into Fintech

So true. During all of their attempts at bad press they were quietly investing. Wouldn't want too much attention to it before they had a chance to fully invest.
563  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: OpenBazaar Opened , your first impressions ? on: April 06, 2016, 07:03:24 AM
Good to hear that openbazar has finally started operation!

But why a web version is not available? Why do I need to download an app to use openbazar. This way, it is impossible to beat ebay, or any other ecommerce sites.

Developers of openbazar should think about it and make it available in the web so that people can start using it with ease.

A web version kills the purpose of OpenBazaar.  A web version would make it centralized. Open Bazaar is a decentralized technology because the user hosts their own store on their own computer/device.  The download and installation is not difficult and novices could use it.
564  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2016-04-05] Northern Trust Wants A Bitcoin And Ethereum Blockchain Developer on: April 05, 2016, 09:43:54 PM
Quite interesting and not surprising.  It is good to hear for once that they are interested in the blockchain AND bitcoin.  This won't be the last job posting for bitcoin and ethereum people.  Get ready.
565  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2016-04-05]Mysterious Report Estimates IoE Market at $23.97 Trillion by 2020 on: April 05, 2016, 09:41:02 PM
Mysterious Report Estimates IoE Market at $23.97 Trillion by 2020

The report costs $3,500. Therefore, we asked Research and Markets, the hosters of the report, if they could provide us with a full, abridged or summary version so as to judge its authenticity. Unfortunately, we were informed by Research and Markets that they do not have a full copy, they only host it for sale. They directed us to Infoholic Research as the producers of the report. We enquired whether Research and Markets undertakes any verification or authentication of reports they host, but we have not yet received a reply.

I have no doubt it will reach that amount.  Machine to machine technology is the way of the future inside the IoT and now IoE.  Mentioned Ethereum quite a bit.   The IoE is a big enough arena that there will be several large players - BTC and ETH included.
566  Other / Off-topic / Re: Buying stuff with paypal nowadays on: April 05, 2016, 08:45:30 PM
There are many issues beyond the refunds with PainPal.  It is the easiest online because it is really the only option because of the amount of people using it and accepting it.
567  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: OpenBazaar Opened , your first impressions ? on: April 05, 2016, 08:43:36 PM
The interface is nice, during a test everything went well.  It is pretty intuitive to list and buy.  Things like this need time, I too hope to not be a seller on Ebay!
568  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2016-04-04] Bitcoin Marketplace OpenBazaar is Open for Business on: April 05, 2016, 03:53:43 AM
This is great news.  I am sure well worth the wait.  If this takes off this will mean a lot more transactions in bitcoin.  I wish everyone the best of luck with this - users and devs. Grin
569  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will the Panama Papers open eyes of public towards Crypto? on: April 05, 2016, 03:43:07 AM
These are interesting developments in Iceland.  Maybe something like this will turn more eyes towards Crypto.  Blockchains keep accurate records so they can't hide things like they can now.  Ironically there will be more transparency with various  cryptos and this is what people are demanding of their leaders.
570  Economy / Economics / Re: Why the banks dont give free money? Why they loan it? on: April 04, 2016, 05:58:37 PM
There really is no money in the first place.  It stopped being money (USD for example) when it was no longer backed by gold.  It is madness that interest is charged on something that does not exist in the first place. They don't have to "give free money" they GET free money.
571  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: How Many Bitcoin Transactions are <$100 on: April 04, 2016, 05:54:41 PM
-snip-
Why would you want to track only the transaction <$100 ?

Probably as an argument for or against micro payments. Payments over 100 USD are certainly not micro payments, thus an answer to the question could be an argument in a discussion.

I am curious too and am interested in the micro payment part of it.  From comments above it would be difficult to determine the amounts.
572  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2016-04-04] Microsoft Azure: the blockchain sandbox on: April 04, 2016, 05:50:45 PM
Interesting article.  Explains more to those that question why Microsoft is doing this.  Exciting that it is thought of as a testing ground for blockchain services.  I like this statement:
"Azure sees itself as a world-scale marketplace for blockchain services. Decentralization is very good for cutting edge development, agrees Gray, but a common cloud environment might prove useful for everyone. "
573  Economy / Speculation / Re: BITCOIN - Time to buy? Time to sell? on: April 04, 2016, 12:40:23 AM
Time to hold.  Too many good things happening with bitcoin, I dont see it going down much below 350.00.  anything under 400 is a good buy as others have said above.  A good strategy is to continuously buy in small increments that work with your own budget.
574  Economy / Economics / Re: WILL BITCOIN BE USED BY ALMOST EVERYONE IN 2022? on: April 04, 2016, 12:37:31 AM
I hope so and I think it is possible that there will be a large percentage of people on the earth using bitcoin by 2022.  Even if it is not only bitcoin it will be digital money of some kind.
575  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2016-04-03]The Retail Sector Foresees the Rise of Bitcoin by End of Decade on: April 04, 2016, 12:30:41 AM
Good to see articles like these.  Interesting that only 1 in 5 said they would like to see digital currencies introduced by 2020.  That seems like an eternity in the world of technology.  I imagine it will go faster than that.
576  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Has the Altcoin markets become a way to Artificially Inflate the Price of BTC on: April 03, 2016, 01:59:42 AM
I wouldn't say artificially, because that seems to imply intention. And I don't think that the altcoin scene as a whole is solely created to inflate bitcoin.
It is, however, created as (or has become) a way to make money. And since most trades flow through BTC, it pumps BTC.

My thoughts exactly, this is how a true market works. Demand goes up whenever people want to purchase any new altcoin.

Interesting thought.  I agree with the above comments.  Definitely moving the price but not artificially.  This is showing demand and each are growing.
577  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: eCommerce giant Amazon finally embraces Bitcoin on: April 02, 2016, 07:54:44 PM
ok you got me.  Just saw this and nearly started panic buying.  Maybe there is a way to put away all April Fools nonsense in an archive.
578  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2016-04-02] CD: Overstock Invests $4 Million in Barbados Bitcoin Startup on: April 02, 2016, 07:52:28 PM
Does this mean they are using Bitcoin with Bitt?  I am not sure I understand where bitcoin fits in here.
579  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Litecoin will see 10$ and above 2016 on: April 02, 2016, 05:57:07 PM
yes litecoin is dead that why we still keep them in our wallets?  Grin keep in mind that there are more merchants accepting litecoin than the hyped coins ETH.
Not much changed still since. Litecoin is still the 2nd used coin even when eth and ripples marketcap is way over them.

This is true that we can't forget that Litecoin is still the 2nd most used coin.  It is a conservative investment and won't get you big gains unless it decides to move with Bitcoin when it rises.
580  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Two Bittrex accounts hacked today. on: April 02, 2016, 05:15:15 PM
Sorry to hear this happened  Sad That is a lot of btc.  This is a great reminder to everyone and myself to do 2F whenever offered.
