561  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Zuckerberg's second privacy face off | Politics? We need blockchain-based SM. on: October 24, 2019, 03:49:04 AM
Earlier today, Facebook CEO -Mark Zuckerberg had another face off section with the US senate over the Libra project https://www.bbc.com/news/technology-50152062. Quite tough indeed. I am quite sure the young dude had several rehearsals brainstorming what might possibly come out from the congress woman, Lol. But he did well after all.

Arguments in every of my groups today as some said it is absolutely a political propaganda and some relating it backward as facebook played a huge part negatively in the past US presidential election. That you can as well get more information from #TheGreatHack by Netflix. The senate is of the emphasis that Libra would stage to harbour financial crime and unscrupulous behavior from the users. Follow link to see full gist.
 https://www.bbc.com/news/technology-50152062

I am forced to think of blockchain technology as a solution to this mess faced by the young billionaire. VID as an example is a video centric social media that uses blockchain technology and protocol to avoid such issues as Mark's. Using ZERO KNOWLEDGE PROTOCOL is one thing that makes it unique. See more info https://vid.camera.

I am yet to agree that US is trying to tame Mark Zuckerberg. I think it is normal trying to defend in the interest of the world.

Libra is an attempt at total control of the population using Facebook.

FB should be broken up, not expanded. Far better, to not even allow it.

Crypto currency should be open and "owned" by no one. Not Google, not Apple, not Facebook. A money system should be available to all, and without any governing body.

The story is funny though. The government is the one that is really trying to control everyone and everything to the point that freedom is curtailed and killed in the process. And now, in the name of the people whose freedom they kill, they are also killing Libra.

Libra might control and they should be stopped. A monetary system should not be one which is controlled by Libra. But the monetary system being protected right now is the total opposite of 'available to all' 'and without any governing body.'
562  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Asia can be the biggest crypto market on: October 24, 2019, 03:23:21 AM
maybe more crypto investors from continental Europe and America. but actually Asia is the biggest market for crypto because it has the most populous countries like China, India and Indonesia. and more importantly, Asia also has fairly stable internet access at the moment, unlike Africa which is still having trouble getting to the internet. many business models that can be applied there, especially in the financial sector such as payment instruments. but why the reality isn't what I imagined. at present crypto is only a notion and there is no real use that can really be applied to crypto except investment.

many think it's all because of the Regulation, but I don't think so. Regulations can be changed and there are currently no regulations that actually prohibit crypto. so this is not the main reason.

then what do you think?

That's true. The bulk of the world's population is focused in Asia. And when the adoption comes, the people here in this continent will be the ones who will cause Bitcoin's actual use rise massively. But the present condition in the continent is not that friendly toward Bitcoin. China is not saying businesses and people can now use Bitcoin as money. India is unfriendly. Indonesia is not so clear as well.
563  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Quantum supremacy. Is your trade (coins) Quantum resistant? on: October 24, 2019, 02:51:53 AM
The fear that this technological development caused to certain crypto supporters have come much earlier than its actual achievement. Projects are very much aware of this development. And even if there will still be decades of development needed for quantum computers to actually reach its more or less perfect form, existing projects must already have a sort of plan for it. Quantum technology in computers is a welcome development over all. There is nothing to fear for this. Encryption will also be keeping up with this.
564  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: When altcoin season? on: October 24, 2019, 02:23:15 AM
And why? Running late on crypto news last few weeks. Any good new coins on markets?

There is nothing new in the news today. There are some minor ones that are not significant enough to create an altcoin season. In fact, when I opened my phone today, what I saw were bleeding prices. There must be bad sentiments in the market today instead of good. But the good side of all this is that people are given very low prices for them to buy before the season.
565  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin down on: October 24, 2019, 01:56:47 AM
Bitcoin is back down to $ 7500 and altcoin is also following Bitcoin, is this to buy BTC when it is going down badly or waiting for the price of $ 7,000,

It is your choice to wait for $7,000 but if I am in your shoes, I would not wait for that price anymore. $7,500 is cheap enough already. And you are not going to buy a whole 1 Bitcoin, are you? The problem with waiting for the bottom is that it might already have reached it and the next thing you know is that Bitcoin is already back at $8,000. Any price starting with 7 for Bitcoin is buying price already.
566  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Mandatory matters to keep in mind before choosing an ICO marketing company on: October 23, 2019, 02:02:52 PM
Are you looking for the right ICO marketing company that could give you huge returns in the shortest time? What are the attributes of the best ICO marketing company? Are you choosing it right? Learn it here.

The ICO market is already on its final breath. This kind of tips should have come earlier. It is too late now. People are already scammed, investors misled, projects gone after raising millions from ICO, partnerships burned, and the entire crypto community tired, exhausted, and disappointed. Well, let the newcomers in the market be given heads up in case they were not able to hear the loud complaints the old-timers had against ICOs.
567  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What kind of Altcoins have a future? on: October 23, 2019, 01:25:00 PM
The market for Altcoins has been bad recently, and many Altcoins have died and lost a lot of money. What kind of Altcoins do you think will die?thanks for sharing

I am not sure what specific kinds of altcoins will have a future but I am more than sure that the top altcoins right now are going to have a brighter future than the rest. How so? Because they have solid products, they have a solid community behind them, they have solid institutional investors, they have a solid brand already, and most of all, they have billions already. In other words, they have the one thing they need to be able to develop more.
568  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Attack 51% coming soon again? on: October 23, 2019, 12:53:49 PM

51% attack won't be possible to do on top coins by single person because the global hashrate are huge, obvious scam.
Related article I had read Yes you are right, cannot be done individually.

https://www.investopedia.com/terms/1/51-attack.asp
Quote
51% attack refers to an attack on a blockchain – usually bitcoin's, for which such an attack is still hypothetical – by a group of miners controlling more than 50% of the network's mining hashrate, or computing power

It is not entirely impossible for one person to do that because you can rent the hashrate on the internet(miningrigrentals, nicehash). It happened with some new small coins before, all that you need to do is surpassing the 50% hashrate on the network and making a profit from double spend.
and not totally impossible to do it on top coins, but it requires a lot of money to do that.

We are talking of billions of USD. That makes it more on the impossible side than on the possible side. This is nothing but a mere scam that creates FUD. Unless they will attack almost dead shitcoins, they are not going to make anything in this plan. This is only possible for the sake of argument and not on reality.
569  Economy / Economics / Re: Texas Bitcoin Mining Startup With $200 Million To Steal China’s Crypto Crown on: October 23, 2019, 11:10:50 AM
It will take time to build such massive mining plantation, I'm wondering when it will be fully operating, although layer1 startup set up in late 2018. Their plans seem promising with its own power sub-station to utilize solar and wind energy, ASIC chips, and liquid-cooled mining containers.

Of course, such a massive project  and really needs a huge power to run the operation. $200 million dollar investment is magnanimous and glad to see  there is someone that can rival China. Its good that btc miner is scattered much better around the globe,so that when is damaged being ravaged by disaster we have still a backup from other country.

I am not thinking so much of disasters. It is expected that a multi-million project will consider those possibilities even in their plans. And it is not really bothersome. What bothers me is that if the largest mining farm is operating in china it is always subject to the unpredictable and whimsical government they have there. There is the possibility that they will be ordered to shut down abruptly. This will badly affect the operation of the network. And it is simply due to what the chinese totalitarian government feels like doing.
570  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Shapeshift giving away $10 dollars? on: October 23, 2019, 10:34:08 AM
Just a quick update here, Someone posted this one: Don't Believe ShapeShift's Trap. There is No Cheap Hardware Wallet!.

So the catch, you can buy the hardware wallet for $10 but the shipping fee is $38.  Grin

An additional promotional offer for people to get into KYC with their site. This is telling a lot about how Shapeshift is suffering from a terrible backlash of customers ever since they started requiring them to undergo KYC. And the worse thing is that they won't even use their own money for this promotional offer. They would get it from the customers themselves, by a subtle way of tricky padding on the shipping fee. It is unfortunate how this dependable site has become into.
571  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why do people easily get scammed on the internet? on: October 23, 2019, 10:09:22 AM
Maybe you can add, lack of knowledge about technology. Most people has the money to invest but lacks knowledge on what and where they are going to be involved to. Not understanding the whole scope of the project, the purpose and it's potential. Also, you can add greed, most investors aim for profit, that is why scam developers create a project that shows a good profit acheme to attract greedy investors.
One factors could also be an impact is that lack of experience. Knowledge do important to avoid this scheme but experience as well. Ignorance, greed could also be a factors. In order to avoid to be scammed, don't go for a transaction without having any idea regard this. It is better to consult to a person who have experienced or ask some advice to a forum.
Lack of experience is a factor, people are easily attracted to high returns in just short time period and it is one of the reason why they got easily scammed by other people. Having enough experience and knowledge can help us to avoid to get scammed.

No, not lack of experience but greed. Lack of experience should refrain people from deciding immediately. When you do not know something, what will you do? It is to avoid giving a commitment or making a rush decision. But the story is different when money or the promise of a big profit is offered. When someone is offered a big profit even if he does not know what it truly is, he might jump right into it then and there. It is not lack of experience that pushes him into becoming a victim, it is greed.
572  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Coach on: October 23, 2019, 09:42:21 AM
Hi,

I trade second year, but I canīt increase my trading success. I learn to trade by myself from e-book, videos,... I am looking for some coach. I donīt need to hear when buy/sell, I need someone willing to push me little forward. If I would want to open position I would send (you) my analysis and you would say: "Yes, it is good position to trade, because ....or no, donīt do that, because....." and try to help me improve my analysis and trading skills. If there is some great trader who would be willing to devote a little time to me, please contact me on my email jakub.pudis@gmail.com.

Thanks for all replies.

Let me be frank with you, there is no one who can tell you, "Yes, it is good position to trader..." or "no, don't do that..." and thank him afterwards. There is no one who can predict the next price of whatever cryptocurrency you are trading. Learning trading skills is hard. And even if you have already learned all of them, it is still a fact that you cannot predict with precision what happens next. So in every order that you do, make sure to set limits.
573  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Do politicians take us for granted? on: October 23, 2019, 09:12:27 AM
The story here in most African countries is weird. Its like the only time these politicians seem to care is when election is approaching. They visit us, give us empty promises and a whole lot. Funny enough, they are voted for massively. Then once they are in power, we are out of the picture. In my country for instance, apart from what I was taught back in school, I cant really pinpoint the essence of the Legislature. From my observation, this has become a cycle. Its like instead of them bringing up policies that will improve lives, they waste resources just like that and master how to make us vote for them when the time comes.
My worry is, are we naive or thats just how the game of politics is played?

I still believe that this kind of politics will not be effective if people will not allow themselves to be fooled. Politicians are using this strategy over and over again because it is effective. They will not bother doing this if such strategy proves nothing. But since people are always swayed by sweet yet empty promises, politicians have already become comfortable using it. Voter's awareness, empowerment, and the courage to oppose such dirty politicians are what it takes for this to end.
574  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is the movement for alternative money a response to? on: October 23, 2019, 08:47:21 AM
Our society has finally realised that the traditional money system is controlled only by government, has insane commission fees and is very likely to be manipulated, thats why there is a growing interest in crypto currencies and hopefully mass adoption in the future.

In my opinion, as for the moment the world is seeing stable coins as a potential beta for the transition of fiats to cryptocurrency. But still, government will make a massive decision regarding this, as it seems impossible at this moment to transition the products market price, bar codes and other pricing aspects so it needs to take time at a time to be implemented. In addition taxation of all prosucts and services needs to be studied first.

I am seeing more of the possibility of physical fiat transforming into digital fiat as compared to physical fiat becoming a stable cryptocurrency. If the government wants to preserve fiat, its value, and its prevailing rules, why do they have to shift to cryptocurrency? It is not needed anymore. They better shift to digital fiat. In that case, they are still fiat and I will still prefer crypto over them.
575  Economy / Speculation / Re: Can Bitcoin cross $50,000 by Dec 2020? on: October 23, 2019, 08:21:07 AM
With so many good altcoins around, do you think Bitcoin can cross $50k by Dec 2020?

First of all, it is worth acknowledging that Bitcoin is behaving in ways we cannot exactly predict. But my limited observation is telling me that $50,000 by December of next year is too high to reach. Even if we will reach again the ATH of Bitcoin within this year, it is still hard for Bitcoin to double that $20,000 ATH in only a year, especially because we are not anymore talking about $2,000 or even $5,000. $20,000 is a lot of money.
576  Economy / Economics / Re: Credit organizations and privacy policy on: October 23, 2019, 07:56:53 AM
I found in privacy policy of one particular exchange that it transfers data about me to credit organizations. Actually the same is true for banks.
In what cases do they do this thing? If I make big enough trade volume at exchange, say $50,000 for year, is this information transferred as well? I suppose it happens only if you do margin trading or something... don't know much about it, except that you take loans from brokers...

Yeah I realize $50k is not big for you

We never know until where our personal information are reaching. That is why it is not a good thing to provide it to anyone or any site for that matter that we do not even personally trust. These exchanges, I am referring to centralized ones, are licensed or registered under state policies and regulations. This includes their responsibility to report certain data or statistics or even personal information to the state authorities whenever demanded or necessary. We never know what is happening under the table.
577  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Don't Believe ShapeShift's Trap. There is No Cheap Hardware Wallet! on: October 23, 2019, 04:25:33 AM
It's one of those dropshipping or whatever scams, they advertise a product as free or heavily discounted and they charge a fortune for shipping, enough that the shipping costs net them a fancy profit.

I saw it with 40 dollars delivery fees for free watches, and it looks like it's the same scheme here as well since crypto-currencies are the best big thing.

Is the product that bad? Has anyone actually used one yet? A 50 dollar hardware is still not bad compared to 100 dollar ledgers and 200+ for a trezor.

I'd love to hear someone's opinion about the device if they've tried it.

No need to waste money on that. Going for a little cheaper price and risking big? Not a wise decision. And Ledger Nano S does not cost you 100 USD. It is much cheaper than that. What you are about to buy is a vault, a personal bank, a safety. Do you have to choose the cheapest? Or you won't mind the price for the sake of security?
578  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The Ultimate List of Exit Scams & How to Spot One on: October 23, 2019, 03:58:35 AM
Exit scams have affected many people in the cryptocurrency world. In this article, we've gathered a comprehensive list of exit scams, and some tips on how to avoid becoming a victim. ❌ https://selfkey.org/the-ultimate-list-of-exit-scams-how-to-spot-one/

Did you experience being scammed in one of these?

I was almost a victim of Centra, almost but not. Nice list you have there but too few in a world mostly made up of scams. There are more than you can count actually. Have you heard of Titanium of Michael Stollaire? It was a quick sold-out as well. But, just like most of the ICO projects, it also ended up a scam.
579  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Bitcoin SV vs ETH on: October 23, 2019, 03:32:58 AM
Is investing in Bitcoin SV will be more beneficial as it haven't shown full potential yet or ETH will still be dominating in the time to come and should hold onto it ??

Isn't it people are saying that BSV is a shitcoin? Or just another pump and dump coin? And although its a big blockers and it's been touted as the solution for bitcoin's scalability problem, but the blocks hasn't been maximised at all. With that said, I think ETH will be better in my opinion, and don't get embroidered on the hype of BSV, just saying.
They don't said shitcoin because it is totally disappointing the many investors. In trading platform any Top 20 altcoins are equally important in crypto market so I don't compare these two coins. Ethereum have huge marketcap so it will always stay in top region. I think once huge bull run will come in the market all the coins are going to moon.

Nope. It is a shitcoin because it is a shitcoin no matter how some people call it. It is not the investors that are calling it a shitcoin. It is a shitcoin in the eyes of true Bitcoin supporters. The investors don't care much whether a coin is a shitcoin or not for as long as they can make money out of it. But it remains a shitcoin. So I don't agree with you that any top 20 altcoins are equally important. That is not true if only you consider how much each of them contributed to the growth of cryptocurrency in general.
580  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: who else think Litecoin will go huge? on: October 23, 2019, 03:07:05 AM
litecoin current price VS bitcoin is about 1 LTC = 0.0067 BTC

who else think litecoin will go up huge in the near future?

Litecoin is one of the few altcoins that are in the forefront of cryptocurrency development. No way it happens that cryptocurrency will make great strides without Litecoin not part of the leading projects and coins. 0.0067 BTC per Litecoin is already a bonus sale. It is an easy 0.01 BTC per Litecoin in the coming weeks. Rather than looking for new coins that are not solid, better buy the old ones like Litecoin.
