5601  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Antminer S7 on Hashnest on: October 12, 2015, 10:50:11 PM
Hi, i've bought an Antminer S7 for 7.81BTC and sell it in a few hours for 9.72BTC, what a pretty surprise!!

But now the hashnest's S7 are "non aviable". What do you think? It is possible that Bitmain is selling their S7's at that other price, but with the GHS format?

Can you explain how you made that BTC in a few hours?  That is a sweet profit for hours.

Was it just them running out of stock that made people want them?  Or did they announce anything?
5602  Other / Meta / Re: Signature Campaign section? on: October 12, 2015, 09:21:54 PM
i highly support this aswell is there a way we can have a vote on this, maybe put a poll on this thread?  Undecided

I like the idea but it is pretty hard to get a new board.  It will take a LOT of support specifically from staff.  I once had a idea I thought that was good I think it was like coin section or something had a little support, but not near what it takes.

I suggest to get as many people as possible to agree (if they like it).  A poll is not a bad idea.  But getting staff on board is really the key I think, as it needs their support and time.
5603  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Hi Newbie here with a few questions! on: October 12, 2015, 08:53:31 PM
Hi I'm Nyx2011 and I'm wondering what the best way to earn btc is at the moment? Are physical goods better to deal in than digital? What are the advantages of using bitcoin in my shops?

The big question is what kind off shops do you have?   Physical and digital both have their places.  So it would depend on what product you carry in your shop you talk about.

There is not one best way to make BTC.  Find your niche is the best and go with it.  It might take a bit but the best profit differs from person to person.  Just a lot of individual factors that everyone does not share.

Well I mostly build and sell secure laptops, but I have a few
Digital goods that can be sold as well.

What do you mean by "build and sell secure laptops"?  For most part it is actually pretty hard to build a laptop just is not like a desktop on being able to build.   And add secure to that I'm unsure what product it is.

Do you have a link to a example of this product?  It would be a hardware good. But I'm interested to see what it is.
5604  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S7 is available at bitmaintech.com with 4.86TH/s, 0.25J/GH on: October 12, 2015, 08:48:15 PM

Brilliant! However, there were only a few people that ordered or had EVGA 1600 Gold or Plat, hence problems. In addition, unless you install a 220v circuit, you are limited to oven/dryer outlet with Bitmains's PSU (in US at least).

Hardly.  I'm USA based and simply dropped (2) 30amp 220V circuits onto a wall and run PDUs from them.  Bought some power cords to match online and have been riding golden on my mining equipment every since.

well, you did install 30amp 220v circuits-exactly like I said above. I talked to electrician and he said that the wire gauge in my house is less than needed for 20-30amp circuits. I forgot the exact number-14 needed, I think. I hope that you have the right wire, but I don't-I could price it with electrician, of course, but did not get to it yet.

Depending on how far it is from breaker box to mining area, it's not that hard to get the proper gauge ran to it.   If you can run outside and not through walls it's even better (does not really work for houses only mining areas).

But everyone should be careful on this you cannot in most cases pop off a 15 amp breaker and throw on a 30 amp.  Just is dangerous with wire that is not up to it.

Electricity fee:0.5 CNY

Is this USD or CNY?  At usd that is lowest going still on a project like this.  That peaks my interest a little bit.

If it truly is CNY that is like .01 USD... which would be amazing but sounds to good to be true.  Please correct me if my math is off.
5606  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: good places to hide paper wallet ? on: October 12, 2015, 08:42:26 PM
I am searching for a good place to hide my paper wallet
i don't want any one to see it or try to scan the QR code
please don't give me silly places, I really want to hide it in secure place

Even im not too understand about this paper wallet, but i think that the place was very safe for a things like paper inside some deposit box, you can have it in house or maybe rent it on yours local bank..

Honestly the bank deposit box is hard to beat on safety (as long as you have a stable goverment, some countries yes horrible idea).  But it is very good for long term storage of BTC.

It is not for coins you need a lot of access to, as it would be a pain to go to bank get it and return to bank.  So this is long term storage.  Shorter term you will be better off at home in a safe or other safe places.
5607  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How many bitcoins do you have to sell to make a living? on: October 12, 2015, 08:39:58 PM
it is possible to make a living by selling bitcoins if you have a lot of them for example if you win a huge lottery you can easily sell it all and live from those money for a few months for sure

Are you talking about mining solo "loto mining" or like a lottery ticcket?   But you are right on lotto mining if that is what you mean.  But only thing is it's a very slim chance of happening.  Most lotto miners never hit a block.

But if you did currently you would have 25 btc to sell and live off of.  So nice little bump.  The hardest thing is repeatable making a living off something.  If it's a one time thing you cant really live off of.

But it is HARD to find something high profit, and repeatable.   If you do it though yes you likely could live off of.
5608  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Did you earn some bitcoin today? on: October 12, 2015, 08:35:47 PM
One of my favorite day's of the week.  Signature day which is always nice as a little extra bonus.  And also of course my normal mining.

So the mining is pretty normal.  But the sig is always fun I enjoy it a lot as I would be posting no matter what.
5609  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How can I earn money in this forum? on: October 12, 2015, 08:32:36 PM
rank up your account and participate in best paying signature campaigns in this way you would make small amounts of bitcoins on this forum

This is the most best way really if done right.  Just make sure to have content in your posts.  Don't do one liners or +1 stuff with a sig that will get you a temp ban.

If done right you will get a little BTC for doing your normal posting so works good for everyone, if done properly.  Also if you get to full member is the biggest jump.  If you do newbie/low campaigns not a lot of BTC in it.  But once you hit full member it will shoot up.
5610  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: The more I read, the more confused I become... on: October 12, 2015, 08:30:11 PM

So at coinbase wallet you can export/import private key Huh

I don't think it does, although I do remember it gives you the ability to sign messages using your private key but the key itself is not publicly displayed

Part of coinbase's safty is you cannot export private key.  So the site is only place  you can access wallet.  You don't have control over address like in many situations.

If you want private key's you will need to use another wallet.  Keep in mind you should not keep a ton in hot wallets unless spending it.  Look into cold wallets they will be better over long term if done right.
5611  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Where can I invest? on: October 12, 2015, 08:27:56 PM
Just go for bitcoins. You can earn a lot from it

Where is this bitcoins? You should provide a proper site url otherwise how one can guess what you're are thinking.

I think he meant mining bitcoins, if you got good equipment you can earn a significant amount of it.

But let's not forget the altcoins that can be picked up at cheap price now, and sold later at higher price!

I have good and bad experiences in new altcoins, it's true that cost cheap but it can go cheaper and you loose.

Not necessarly new altcoins, old ones can be cheap too. Burst for example is only 32 satoshi and its already established.

LTC is pretty cheap now, and its through the halving period.

NXT is also cheap considering the earlier price levels.

etc.

New alt coins really does not have a good future.
Most of them are just created to make some profit for the owners/developers.
I have invested many times but will never do that again, the price is just not stable.

I have seen many posts about burst coins.  When I did math on this "HD Mining" it was like dollars a month for multiple T on HD.  So it's crazy.

Please can you show some ROI math on burst coin?  Show something besides saying how great it is?  I just don't see mining it as practical if the calculators are right.
5612  Economy / Services / Re: Antminer s5+ purchase on: October 12, 2015, 08:20:53 PM
Are there any reputable sites where I can still buy an antminer s5+? I am thinkig of starting mining bitcoins and want a large machine to start it with! I am only willing to buy from reputable insured sites such as Amazon or Ebay.

(please do not post WTS posts here about antminer s5+'s)

They were a limited sale only 1 batch for public customers.  And then BM switched to S7.  So you are not going to get direct.

You will need to find 3rd parties that bought from BM.  So WTS's and Ebay, etc are likely only way's you will get this miner.
5613  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: B-Eleven sha-256 ASIC miner on: October 12, 2015, 08:19:01 PM
It does resemble the S7 quite a bit.  "If they Rend-it don't Spend-it!"

Renderings do not get me excited at this point.  At one point I thought it was a big deal, but so many scam miners have done renderings it lost it's power over me.

I want to see a working prototype or something more concrete before  I trust someone on a miner.  I think they don't have a prototype yet or they would have released a video or something.  Instead we got a rendering.
i do not read chinese and i simply dont get the ideea of this business model. they are asking loans for a few months or what? or a very non-atractive cloud mining. if you guys understant better the bw deal please share  Huh

BW is huge so it's not surprising they want to have a cloud mining setup.   If they are asking for pre-payments that would be pretty crazy.  Sadly I cannot read Chinese either (Someone needs to discover how to translate words in pictures I would love google translate if they did that).

BW is one of the biggest out there so if they are just buying a lot to get new miners, or doing cloud they chances will get a profit.
5614  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Oct 11 to Nov 11 Sidehack stick pool club. on: October 12, 2015, 08:06:33 PM
Lets hope to get a block!  Grin

Why stop at one?  Lets get 2!  Ok I know that is not realistic ... but I would be very happy with one.

But the nice thing is such a small cost on these sticks to run.  So we can really run long term with very little costs as far as electricity. For example I even have a RPI as the controller and it uses almost nothing in electricity and works perfect.

But I'm excited were doing a club instead of a ton of individuals.
5615  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S7 is available at bitmaintech.com with 4.86TH/s, 0.25J/GH on: October 12, 2015, 08:01:54 PM
I had 2 orders marked as shipped; the first from 9/9 and the second from 9/18.

Trust me neither one is shipped yet with those dates. They marked just about all as "shipped"

That would be very scammy to do. I did not think about that but that is sad to even think of them doing.

The compensation is so very small if they do anything to make it appear as shipped earlier... that would be bad news.  Is this happening to a lot that are still waiting on S7 B1?   I guess I should not be shocked but I am.
5616  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BITMAIN AntRouter R1: 1st wireless networking device with bitcoin mining chip on: October 12, 2015, 07:59:07 PM
It would be nice to have option to install custom firmware on this device. dd-wrt and cgminer package.

Give it time only a few reviewers/resellers have it already.   Most have not got the device even yet.

Bitmain has never locked down firmware in past.  So big plus there as far as a device like this.  There will be mods no doubt.  But we don't even know what regular setup does yet.

Hard to plan a mod without knowing regular design Smiley.  So give it time and it will come.

I am surprised a 14nm have the same eficency than a 28nm... 0.26w/ghs? really? i ever thought a 14/16nm will be on 0.06w/ghs o 0.08w/ghs and above... up to 0.01w/ghs  Shocked
But it will help us to buy cheaper...  Roll Eyes

The company's that kept 28 NM really did a great job getting more out of it.  Right now BM's S7 they pushed it pretty well.  And if SP50 comes like spec they got even better out of their chip.

I think the ones that kept current NM and perfected it got a head start and easier R/D.   Them going to 14  NM might be good for long term.  But the short term it left them with no miners to sell and a lot longer R/D

5619  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER C1 Discussion and Support Thread on: October 12, 2015, 07:42:12 PM
Agreed to new water cooled miner, I use C1 for heating during winter. I did last winter without any additional heat source and it was perfect. Just give us S7 with few waterblocks on it, we will take care of the rest Smiley

It will take someone to mod most likely.  I just don't see another C series for the many reasons I have posted earlier.

You can look at their partner syscooling on C1, and S5 mod.  They have not logged in for months.   So that does not sound very promising.
5620  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [Group Buy] AntRouter R1 + US power adapter - .185 BTC on: October 12, 2015, 07:40:10 PM
Have you received a notification that your bulk order has been shipped yet?

Since people are posting about CrazyGuy, way back I bought a few Block Erupter Cubes from him and everything went smoothly, one had a board die a few months after and he replaced it for free.

Not yet, hope to see them ship out in the next few days. I ordered early on the first day, so we should be at the front of the queue.

Sounds great on that!  That is why i trusted you with my order.    Fronting the bill on first day truly put's your group buy apart from what others do.

Thanks for doing this GB!

*Edit hopefully soon!  The thread had first person claim to have conformation of it shipping.

Yes, ours shipped around 2 am this morning. I'll update when they arrive.

Sounds great!  Thanks for the update.  Hopefully they get there fast considering what BM charged on shipping.

Thanks again for update!
