5601  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why most of ALTCOINS are dead or worthless? on: February 15, 2020, 06:12:44 PM
What else can happen with alt when it gets abandoned by developers or supporters, or both, for any reason? It will become dead and worthless! I don't think all of them are initially created to be scams, simply they didn't have what it takes to develop the idea. There can be many reasons for an idea to fail along the way, not enough knowledge in the team, lack of support and money... for whatever reason, even if it's some small one they fail. Scams are scams, those projects don't last to long, they serve the purpose once they cheat enough people.

I thought we will play today, but next Sunday will be OK too. I don't have account on SwC, at least I think I don't have, maybe I played there years ago but I can't remember, I will have to check that. Count me in for the next week, good rules by the way, I like when blind levels are +10 minutes.

Edit: SwC username Iv4n, see you there in Sunday!
5603  Economy / Speculation / Re: Tone Vays Stands by $4K Bitcoin Price Pre-Halving Prediction on: February 14, 2020, 03:44:19 PM
Nothing interesting in this article! Except that Tone Vays stands by his prediction, there are no other arguments about why he believes that Bitcoin can drop to 4k. It would be a huge drop, for more than 50%, and just before the halving when we expect hype? To me this drop sounds impossible, I think price will drop but to 8k, or around that. Only thing that is good in this article is one sentence:
"Tone Vays responded that there were still two months to go and that “anything can happen.”
We all know that anything can happen in crypto market and that anything can happen in short period of time. For me dropping under 8k is almost impossible, very low chances that to happen, but in the end who knows, we will who is right in next couple months.
5604  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading for Beginners? on: February 14, 2020, 09:45:17 AM
-snip-

The best thing to do is to have plan. Planning is essential in all aspects especially when it comes in trading, because when we do not have plan, there are more mistakes to come and have a big loss of money. The other think you need to do is to learned how trading works like bull market and bear market. Bull market is just simply a bull but when we give them a deep meaning is symbolizes price are rising, because the bull acts his horns up while the bear market swipes its paws downward, so that it symbolizes as by falling prices.

He already has a plan, to start trading with some part of his saving. In trading timing is everything, I would suggest to OP to start with some small amount and to try to sell at top, or at least close to top, and of course to buy when price is at bottom, or at least close to it.
Of course nobody can't predict top and bottom, that's why you have more than one sell order, and of course more than one buy order. You check from time to time your orders, if they are executed you make new ones. We never know will price change direction, we don't know where is heading, so I suggest newbies to always have some dollars and bitcoins on a side, if price surprise you and do something unexpected you need to have some bitcoins to sell, or dollars to buy, depending where price went.
5605  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Hypocrisy Behind Facebook Banning Crypto Ads on: February 13, 2020, 10:54:31 PM
What can you expect with facebook, its a centralized and selfserving company. If there's only an alternative that i can connect with friends i will skip using facebook all together.

There are some good platforms that reward people for using them, steemit, publishx0, some tries on tron network, but I think we are still waiting for some big blockchain social network. People spend time online and people would like to get paid for their time. We already have nice browsers that pays for using them, just for surfing the internet, browsers that pays you to watch ads, and soon we will have social network in the same manner, when that appears people will forget facebook.
5606  Economy / Gambling / Re: IDEA - new concept for strategy game on: February 13, 2020, 08:18:40 PM
Thanks for all the comments. I agree that this game have some problems. The principal one is that a big whale may be able to always win. I am thinking of a way to avoid this. One option is that players may join together their bets in order to bit a bigger whale. Then it can become an exciting strategy game.

I think I am going to make a simple website with 'play money', so everybody can test the idea, suggest variations and perhaps we end up with a game that works. Will see...

And what if whales make a group? You will not be able to win against them.
I think that this game will be without gambling excitement! You place a bet and you wait 24h to see what will happen, in the meantime others will place their bets, higher than yours and if you don't have enough money to place new bet you will just lose the first bet, where is an excitement in that?
Your concept should start from 1 sat. Who would risk 0.1 btc or higher at some auction? You can have great gambling night with that amount, playing slots and all other games you wish, and with nice bets!
5607  Economy / Speculation / Re: The Crypto Bull Run is Here! on: February 12, 2020, 02:08:18 PM
Again the same thing. It costs Bitcoin to grow by $ 500 or $ 1,000, as people immediately appear screaming at every step that the bull race has begun. I see no reason for such high-profile statements.
The crypto market has repeatedly shown itself in an absolutely unpredictable way. We can only say that the bull race has started post factum when we see real growth in prices of a significant scale.
I can’t call the current growth bullish or some kind of over-intense, everything happens within fairly standard models, it is possible that in the near future we will see a correction that will put all the upstarts in place.

And when it drops for the same difference people are crying that we are going to zero! Yes, it can be said like that, again the same thing, over and over again/. Significant rise will happen one day, but not before the halving, so this is just a regular price volatility in my opinion. I'm not sure that we are heading to 15k, in my humble opinion price will go under 10k again in some short period of time, I have my sell orders ready at this price and up to 11k, in my opinion that's the highest price mark we will see in this rise.
5608  Economy / Economics / Re: Justin Sun gifted Warren Buffett bitcoin and tron on: February 12, 2020, 10:23:15 AM
~snip
It's not easy money for Warren, he gives money from that launch to some charities, as far as I know. I think that Justin Sun is just paying for promotion, this is the thing he is doing from the start. He is going around, meets with celebrities, promoting his project, and so on.
If you get a million dollars just to have food for an hour you do not think it is easy money, to make a million dollars in your bank account majority will spend their entire life and you think otherwise Roll Eyes. He is a sales man throughout his career and that is how he made his fortune.

He don't get any money for that lunch, all that money goes to charity, it's called Warren Buffett charity lunch.
" For the 20th year in a row, Buffett is auctioning off a lunch for the highest bidder to support one of his favorite charities, San Francisco’s Glide Foundation"
It's not money for him, as he gives all that amount to a charity. When he doesn't keep money we can't say that he earned them in some easy way. That money doesn't go to Warren Bank account, don't you think that if this money doesn't go to his bank account we can't say that he earned that money!
5609  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Leave gambling, if it destroys you. on: February 11, 2020, 11:55:14 AM
If something is destroying you, you should leave it. This is not just about gambling, it's about our lives. Gambling, like everything else, has its pros and cons, if you are not careful you can lose all the money you have! If you are reckless you will borrow money for gambling and that will lead you into bigger problems.
Without risk, you can't win in gambling! You should know how much you can risk losing in the first place before you start with gambling. When I gamble I know how much I can lose, I can go a little over that amount but I never risk all I have, keep control over your funds and emotions and gambling will be a positive experience for you.
5610  Economy / Economics / Re: Justin Sun gifted Warren Buffett bitcoin and tron on: February 10, 2020, 08:59:54 PM
Warren Buffet is an elderly man, so he wouldn't change his mind about cryptocurrency. Most of pensioners are so skeptical about the technology.
It is not about skepticism, the old generation will not understand technology and the best they will learn is to switch on the computer and nothing more and Warren Buffett is 80 plus years and making him understand how technology works is a hurdle and i am surprised that he accepted the offer and Justin Sun achieved what he wanted, a million dollar lunch and he gifted his alts and nothing else. Easy money for someone who is living is old days making appearance and there is nothing that Warren will change in a short period.

It's not easy money for Warren, he gives money from that launch to some charities, as far as I know. I think that Justin Sun is just paying for promotion, this is the thing he is doing from the start. He is going around, meets with celebrities, promoting his project, and so on.
Warren is an old man, but not only that he survived, he made his fortune in the most turbulent times. His investment skills shouldn't be questioned. I don't believe that he will join crypto, but his companies maybe will some day, who knows. For sure, he has enough money to create his own, but maybe Justin came with some good offer, future will tell!
5611  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is this time to Sell altcoins before BTC Halving on: February 10, 2020, 08:30:03 AM
depends on how you trust you altcoins in folio,if you are doubting that this can bring you profit?then sell them to convert into Bitcoin.
but let me tell you something, never regret when those altcoins of yours make much growth after Halving Ok?
i had made same decision last year converting 2 of my altcoins to bitcoin, but i remain those other 2 because i believe that it will make another Hype sooner.

It all comes down to trust in chosen alts. We can't generalize this, not all alts are the same, not all of them have the same potential. For sure, it would be good to dump some alts now, but some alts worth keeping I believe. We can't give some advices here about keeping or dumping some alts if we don't know about which alt's OP thinks about.
Trust in your investment is essential for long term holding. It's crazy to invest in some alt and change mind whenever price drops or don't move for some time. If you chose to trust some alt with your money, be with that alt in good and bad times.
5612  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What would make you stop gambling? on: February 09, 2020, 04:11:57 PM
Only one thing, zero balance without money for re-buy, to be completely broke! But I hope that will never happen to me! Only some big, terrible tragedy can ruin me financially, other than that I fell myself pretty safe, I don't spend too much, I know my limits, I have regular income and some saving, so for now I am fine, I don't plan to stop gamble!

I never understood people who like to use demo versions, especially people who trade or gamble with a demo version! Why would anyone do that? I think it's exactly like in this gif, it's what demo is, you are doing something but actually you are not doing anything! Better spend couple dollars and get the feeling of the real deal than to fool around.
I would rather loose money in a demo account than loose money in a live account. Having a demo account may not sound like a good idea specially to those who are into trading for quite some time now, but for the noobs who would like to try trading as a side hustle, having a demo account or a practice account is a good start. We dont want to hear headlines of  new trader jumped off the building because he lost all his money and besides, why would exchanges add such a feature if its not a good idea.
This is the main purpose why demo trading is created.Going back in forex trading platforms which most of those brokers do have that demo trading feature which it is somewhat already a standard but not
quite common here on crypto and only a few does offer this one.For total noobs its highly suggested on making some demo before doing the live one.Its true that better start off with real with small amounts
but you cant really avoid the impulsive reaction when you lose real money which would probably result into more complicated situation.

Suggestions on exchanges that do have demo is already mentioned, no need to repeat it.

Its psychological aspect, real money means real emotions. There are many articles about it, I found one interesting one that explains very good what I wish to say:
3 Psychological Differences between Demo and Live Trading - https://www.babypips.com/trading/demo-live-forex-20181031.
When you risk real money you know what's on stake, you know that good moves makes your profit bad moves hurts you, and that's a school, you need to learn what is good and what is bad for you if you wish to survive in long run. Article explains that, I figure that out by myself years ago. It good for reading, especially for people who think to try demo or real for the first time.

5616  Economy / Economics / Re: Countries with banks to buy and sell cryptocurrencies on: February 07, 2020, 07:11:43 PM
To be honest, I do not quite understand what is the illegality of buying cryptocurrency on ordinary exchanges.
It seems that the banks simply decided to stick their intermediary services here.

However, this is an unambiguous plus, because due to the fact that the banks themselves will offer the purchase of bitcoin through their services, ordinary people can safely invest in bitcoin and cryptocurrencies.
In particular, in this way, banks increase the credibility of cryptocurrencies on the part of the general population.

I will not be surprised if in the future there will be deposits allowing you to buy bitcoin at a percentage or take on credit.
How this will be realized is of course a big question, but banks will certainly not lose their profits.

Bottom line is that banks and governments can't stop people from using bitcoins! Some tried to that, some are still trying, we read about that in news, but actually they are not doing anything significant.
In this way banks decided to take earn something from people who wish to buy trough them. Blockchain is making a revolution in the global economy. DAO (decentralized autonomous organization), DeFi (decentralized finance) are just some new things that blockchain is bringing on the table, it will be interesting to see what will banks do and how will they adapt on this. In one thing I am sure, not all of them will be able to adapt.
5617  Economy / Economics / Re: Crypto Investment on: February 07, 2020, 03:58:18 PM
Big returns but I wonder what you did or what kind of strategy you applied to get those big returns, or could there be a system there that you really created to analyze prices so that buying and selling can really be done with right time. However, investing in crypto and other industries cannot be done carelessly, a good understanding is the most important thing because crime is always there and even lots of bad news about investment fraud everywhere.

Good timing, I would say. 10 months ago is somewhere around March or April, depends on calculation. In this case it's the same, last year prices had their peak in Jun/July, who bought before and sell in that time (it's the time when most prices had their top btc over 12k, eth over 300, I don't remember all of them) made a nice profit.
You didn't need any special strategy to make profit in this way. In January last year btc price was under 4k, so if you bought bitcoin in period from January to May last year you have your money doubled, in some moments even tripled, if you hit a good moment for selling.

Process is the games you choose to play, and by some logic you need to like the games you chose to play. When you like the games you play, process will be more interesting! Outcome in gambling is pretty obvious, you can earn money or you can lose money, at least in my case it's like that I lose everything or I won a lot, rarely I am even after gambling session.
To me process is more important that outcome, but we all know that positive outcome will affect us positively!
