5601  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What altcoins will give in excess of profit in a growing market? on: November 17, 2019, 02:01:36 AM
Guys, let's try to figure out which altcoins can give a huge% growth when the entire cryptocurrency market flies to the moon. I have a friend who bought xem when it cost very very little and earned more than $ 100K on growth, I think that now there will be such coins that our pockets can make rich, you just need to know which projects have a chance, so let's offer each other options Smiley

Isn't the top 10 altcoins not enough though?

I mean if we're able to see another bull run similar to 2017, I'm sure the top 10 coins will be the first one to really enjoy it because obviously the support is there, it's just because investors are still reluctant to put their cash right now.

But if you are that smart, those top 10 alts are still cheap you can go buy and be a bagholder and hold for the next 2-3 years just like what you friend did early with XEM, (I assumed he just HODL on it).
5602  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 NBA Season on: November 17, 2019, 01:41:07 AM
^^ Definitely, Zion's will need to adjust to NBA playing style.

I mean he can't just dunk over everyone, and experience players are going to bodied him and this could make him uncomfortable. Unless he has the mentality of Lebron James during his rookie year. So for me, Zion needs to adjust psychologically and then see where his body are going to take him in his first season.
Just as what I expect from the kid, he's not a superstar kind of player but he has talent which he should harness to achieve what people think he could do. I don't think he could make it a run for the rookie of the year this season though.

Yes, because he has missed so many games now that it is hard for him to be named ROTY.

But as a basketball fan, we wanted to see him play whether in the mid season or right after the all star break. There are so much hype around him so let's see if it is really worth the wait.

As far as Carmelo Anthony, hope he will not disappoint Portland so that we can see him play. I think his contract his similar to Dwight with Lakers, and we have seen so far that Lakers is going to keep him because Dwight is playing good or at least makes valuable contributions to Lakers at this point.
5603  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: November 17, 2019, 01:12:38 AM
Simply stunned by some results in London. I feel sorry for those who bet in recent days. Even a well paid algorithm can't help with match predictions. Somehow Thiem left biggest impression on me with his majestic performance vs. Novak. If Austrian can maintain and replicate that level he will win the tournament.
This was one of the most unexpected upsets and results in tennis in a long time, Dominic Thiem and Stefanos Tsitsipas  played some wonderful matches and i did not expect Stefanos defeating Medvedev and then he went on to defeat Zverev and finally Federer to reach the finals and Thiem started off defeating Federer and his game against Djokovic was superb.

Thiem got defeated by Berrettini and Stefanos by Nadal in the group stages but both played some outstanding matches and hopefully some fireworks in the finals too.

I'm expecting a classic match between Stefanos and Dominic in the finals. Both of them elevated their game in this tournaments and defeated the best of there and I'm sure that they will give everything in the finals not just for themselves but for us tennis players. I'm leaning towards Stefanos here though, but I'm not betting because I have lost a decent just in this tournament alone. I would just stay and watch the match unfold and cheer.

I'm sure they will because those two are in their own hot streak so it will be an awesome match unless either one of them really dominate early and then succumb to the pressures. Usually Stefanos Tsitsipas choked on big games, but against Roger is was a  complete opposite.

So I'm giving Stefanos Tsitsipas my bet on this one, although h2h Thiem as the advantage, but I'm seeing Stefanos pulling a dramatic win here.
5604  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Blockchain vs Tangle : Which one of these two revolutionary technologies going on: November 17, 2019, 12:10:55 AM
For those who are not familiar,

This is the whitepaper, https://assets.ctfassets.net/r1dr6vzfxhev/2t4uxvsIqk0EUau6g2sw0g/45eae33637ca92f85dd9f4a3a218e1ec/iota1_4_3.pdf

But since Tangle hasn't been in the radar for most developers, I think bitcoin technology will still continue to reign until some projects start to used it, in my opinion.
5605  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin cannot be banned on: November 16, 2019, 10:10:02 AM
Exactly, and the attack vector of those skeptics doesn't hold grounds long term. That's why bitcoin still survives this day. It is so resilient that critics will have to evolve as well, otherwise their whole argument won't take effect anymore.

And we might find skeptics turns into believers for all we know because they know that bitcoin is the future no matter what kind of attacks they're going to throw in our direction.
5606  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: Marketing for ICO and IEO on: November 16, 2019, 09:43:07 AM
Hi everyone, I'm interested in the differences between ICO and IEO in terms of marketing strategies and techniques. Has anyone participated in a successfull IEO as a contractor or investor and saw any major changes?

I haven't participated in a successful IEO.

But from what I observed, it seems to me that IEO's are attracting investors  because obviously it is launched or have the backing up of a reputable exchanges. So for projects, no need to market it or at least spend a lot of money. As compare to ICO wherein there are so much hype around it and will open up bounties here in the community. But the sad part is that most of them failed and are not paying their hunters.

5608  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Keybase airdrop fake not pays on: November 16, 2019, 08:41:46 AM
Be care to keybase airdrop that promised 500 xlm. Is a scam.

I'm not siding with anyone here.

But OP before you accused someone here, you need to post your proof, otherwise others might see that you are just bitter because you didn't received your and others might claim that it is legit because they got their airdrop, just saying.
5609  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin = Truth on: November 16, 2019, 08:12:26 AM
I agree but I think we don't need to exaggerate it. I mean we all know what bitcoin can bring to many of us and we don't think that government can stop it.

As for buying the dip, its easier said than done. Why did I say that, because if you have been in this community for so long, specially in 2017, many are shouting to buy in dip. But the problem is that many are not buying because they tend to wait for the price to even go lower. But look at how everything turns out in 2017, we have a new all-time-high, and those who didn't buy in the dip regrets and totally bitch around after that.
5610  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: My research for spam coins/tokens on: November 15, 2019, 01:42:49 AM
We appreciate your efforts, but what constitutes those coins to be scam?

At least if you can add a small description and how it turns out to be a scam, then it will be better for us to understand it. I will also point you to a board here, Scam Accusations. Maybe you can post your call and put your proof as well. Best of luck hunting scam projects.
5611  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: add-ex.io exchange - scam or legit? on: November 15, 2019, 01:20:38 AM
First red flag, the site is not secure,

Second red flag, read the article here: Shady crypto exchange used in Tinder dating scam

Quote
Tinder-loving crypto enthusiasts beware! The next time you ‘swipe right,’ you could be setting yourself up to get swindled out of your hard-earned coins. Here’s what you need to know about the con – and the exchange the scammers are using to pull it off.How the Tinder crypto scam works

The scam itself is pretty simple. Asian women – or at least profiles of people pretending to be Asian women – are connecting with people on the app who have noted an interest in cryptocurrencies in their own profiles.
Nexo Crypto Credit Line

Once they make a connection, the scammers will build the relationship over several weeks without ever mentioning cryptocurrency.

They’ll send photos, have conversations outside of Tinder – even phone calls and video chat – all in an effort to reel in their victims.

Then, several weeks in, the girl will “casually” mention this cryptocurrency that they happen to have insider info on.

She gives her victim an invite code to a website where they can buy this crypto and when they deposit funds, it never appears in their account.

Then the girl – and the victim’s funds – disappear.

https://micky.com.au/shady-crypto-exchange-used-in-tinder-dating-scam/

So stay away from this shady crypto exchange websites and don't fall for the Tinder scam. We just don't know, people behind the project could be the same people who is behind this scam.
5612  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: An investor lost $24 million worth of bitcoin on: November 15, 2019, 12:51:41 AM
I don't think sim swapping is a huge issue nowadays, a lot of companies where I live have added their precautions and policies when it comes to getting a second sim with a number, which usually requires the old number to be verified, or their ID to be verified.

I beg to disagree, Sim swapping is very prevalent, [BEWARE] Sim Port Attack.

It's more an article showcasing how careless some people are. With bank accounts it's fair, people should probably make sure transactions over 10,000 require a lot more ID, and crypto definitely needs to be stored on a hardware/cold wallet that can't be affected by the internet/these sorta attacks.

Yeah, that's the big question, how can a guy with tons of crypto's not storing it a hardware wallet, still baffles me. I do hope that he learn his lesson here, it's not the first time that it happen to him so it's really hard to understand how still he can be careless.
5613  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bounty hunters do not need to wait for altcoin season on: November 15, 2019, 12:16:57 AM
Its not even worth it for waiting months, could've made more by working part-time in real life. hahaha
Seriously, none of these ieo's or ico's are worth pinning your hopes on, and rather than making a profit you're more likely to get scammed or lose money.  If you really want to make money in crypto, buy bitcoin or some of the higher quality altcoins with your own money and just hold onto them until the market turns around, which it will eventually.

Right now? No, but as soon as we are in a bull run, those IEO or ICO are going to be worthy to try again, Lol.

The bitcoin halving is coming up next year and that will probably boost altcoins along with everything else, but these garbage tokens are going to end up worthless.  They already have a proven track record of that, so I'm not sure why people are still investing in them.

I agree, this is the only catalyst that will bring this market to a recovery phase and then the eventual bull run. So there could also boom on the alt ecosystem, IEO/ICO, bounties airdrops etc are going to be lively just like 2017.
5614  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Bull Run is coming! on: November 14, 2019, 11:55:56 PM
They say that "picture tells a thousand words"  Grin.

But not on this one, specially in crypto world wherein a positive news will turn out to be negative and vice versa. And we have to understand that bull run happens for a reason, I mean there should be an event, or just FOMO that will fuel the market again. And this picture doesn't fall on that category. There will be no bull run for this year, not in bitcoin and specially not in alt market. And we have to accept that fact.
5615  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Do you Believe Volume of the Coinmarketcap? on: November 14, 2019, 05:38:24 AM
Do you Believe Exchange Volume of the Coinmarketcap?
Also Do you believe exchange volume?
I think all the exchanges are fake!!!

Lol, Coinmarketcap is not a reliable source of exchange volume because they don't to include a lot of mid tier exchanges which obviously practices wash trading and fake volumes.

I would suggest you check out reports such as this one, http://www.bti.live/exchanges/ or used https://www.coingecko.com/en.

Many already know what coinmarketcap is doing, but I doubt that they're going to change it after so many years.
5616  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Huobi forcing out US traders out on: November 14, 2019, 05:17:39 AM
No surprises here, it's pretty obvious that US is putting a lot of regulatory pressure on exchanges operating on their jurisdiction. Binance already had its US version already, to totally satisfy US SEC.

And now Huobi is going to roll out their own.

Quote
Huobi, originally founded in China, first revealed its plans to open an office in San Francisco in January this year. Now headquartered in Singapore, the exchange has been vigorously targeting overseas markets, launching a South Korean subsidiary, as well as announcing plans to open an office in London.

The US context places high demands on crypto exchanges to come under the purview of regulators, and an HBUS post this week has duly stressed that all its employees have been “educated” in Anti-Money-Laundering (AML) and Counter-Terrorism Financing (KYC), and have been “required to pass tests” on the subjects.

5617  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Bitmain sues ex-employee for allegedly IP theft on: November 14, 2019, 04:44:13 AM

Yang Zuoxing, used to be an employee of Bitmain, one of their best engineers who help and design S7 and S9. And it was reported that he demanded Wu to have a stakes in the company in which Jihan declined.  Yang left and then started his own company, MicroBT, and then releases their own bitcoin mining hardware Whatsminer.

The takeaway here is that maybe the Bitcoin mining industry is truly a very dynamic one, with players really making sure that they retain their market share at all cost and in any means legal and maybe even under the table. With China now not anymore applying any pressure to this expanding industry, there can be more competition coming and Bitmain will not allow anyone to undermine its continuing leadership.

More likely that Bitmain still wanted to have full monopoly of the mining hardware industry. So with him back on the top, he wanted to close out his competition specially against his former employee. If Bitmain doesn't want competition then something is wrong with the bitcoin mining industry.

Intel and AMD have been bitter rivals in the late 90's and early 2000's. And it did good in the market back then because boards became so cheap, the downside is that the market became saturated.
5618  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 NBA Season on: November 14, 2019, 04:14:23 AM
Good game between Houston and Clippers.

James Harden waxing hot in the first half putting Houston on top. But the Clippers come back at the end of the third and still in the game in the fourth and even takes the lead however, Harden and Russ closed out the game. I thought that Clippers will win because they have the momentum but after a time out, Houston did show us a good defense. Harden with 47/6/7.
5619  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Went Crazy On 12/11/2019 ! on: November 14, 2019, 03:52:45 AM

Disgusting BTC making me insecure !

Lol, how long have you been in the market?

I'm assuming you are a newbie based on your account, but for those who have been in this game for so long, we have been this roller coaster ride. But it doesn't mean we panic or something, we understand how the price volatility is. Smart investors ride the wave, buy in dip and then sell when there's enough profit to make, rinse and repeat.

I know where you coming from, since bounty hunting are no longer profitable because of the bearish trend. Maybe those list in that link can help you out. Personally though, I still prefer trading, specially if you have experienced and the capital to begin with. Goodluck.
